SESKIND, SCOTT - Chance
..impressively captivating and moving collection of four-tracked bedroom folk of the highest order, with an out-of-time vibe that didnt really snyc with its 1984 recording date. Definitely on the loner-ish end of the folk spectrum, with some aspects of the album harkening back to Skip Spences iconic Oar, while other moments revealed the urgency of the 80s lo-fi revolution. But most importantly, the songs were just really, really great and managed to remain haunting long past their leaving. - Michael Klausman (regarding his self titled debut LP). Original sealed copies of his 1991 private cassette, the only release after the 1985 LP, which is somewhat "known" amongst folk/psych/private collectors (and mentioned in Acid Archives despite the later date). These recordings arent quite as desolate and a bit more "lo-fi" than the LP, but still a very worthwhile listen..
