OSTARBEITER - The Iron Ere
"We are pleased to announce the reissue of an anthology collection of Ukrainian Death Industrial Ostarbeiter on two cassettes. It is easy to describe death industrial in one word; however, Ostarbeiter refers to workers sent from the former Soviet Union to factories and farms in Germany during World War II. Even after returning to their home country after the war, they sometimes suffered unfair discrimination. The factories where they worked were truly an industry of death. The bland sound of factory machinery as if death were approaching is ruthlessly blanketed by noise with bold and elegant spatial effects. That terrifies us to think that it was their daily routine. In addition, it is only in this anthology that you can see the difference in the sound expression on each side, such as the destructive noise power electronics on the A-side, the more introspective approach on the B-side, and the techno-industrial approach with enhanced and evolving the rhythm on the C-side.
Two additional bonus tracks are included, which are not included on the CD version. Every one of tapes was handmade and dubbed by legendary Nakamichi cassette deck with the recording head azimuth adjustment." - Advaita Records.
