"On the face and the self in Mark Flood's early work. This book investigates a crucial period for the Houston-based artist Mark Flood (born 1957), from 1987 to 1992, during which he was still making and exhibiting work using his birth name, John Peters. Artist and editor Adam Marnie explores Flood's motif of the face and his use of personae, aliases and surrogates."

Flood was (is?) a member of Houston, TX's  Culturcide — see their 1981 split LP with Hiroshima Chair on Australia's Dogfood Production System (who released the first Severed Heads LP, Slugfuckers Transformational Salt, and Negative Reaction s/t LP that same year), 1982's Year One on Houston's canonical C.I.A. label, the classic Tacky Souvenirs of Pre-Revolutionary America LP (self-released in 1986), the split 7" with Caroliner….etc.
