New 3 track EP from Hype Williams. Ooovrrr melts Drakes vocals down to a syrupy slur and lays over a snappy lo-fi beat, heavy on the 1s and 3s, as some wavering synths play off each other in a haze. Rescue Dawn III drags an early 90s jungle bassline down to a snails pace. A super melted vocal refrain, a VHS quality synth line and hiss-drenched bass form a something that could loosely be referred to as dub. The b-side is an alternate take on Sades The Sweetest Taboo -¢‚Ǩ‚Äú a beautiful version envisioned through the heroin haze that the lyrics evoke.No group is absorbing and filtering pop culture quite like Hype Williams.
