CHALK, ANDREW - Goldfall

Following the sublimely beautiful series of CDs on his own Faraway Press label, Andrew Chalk slips back to analog with Goldfall. Limited to 300 copies pressed on heavyweight vinyl and housed in a silk-screened sleeve and overwrap, the LP, featuring piano from Vicki Jackman is another side to Chalks remarkable discography. Haunted keyboards extending into the distance, like the recent Andrew Liles The Dying Submariner, this piece puts aside the enveloping blankets of drone for a sparser sound, close in spirit to Harold Budd or William Basinski.
