"LArbre du Tenere, known in English as the Tenere Tree, was a solitary acacia that was once considered the most isolated tree on Earth, standing alone for over 250 miles. It was a landmark on caravan routes through the Tenere region of the Sahara in Northeast Niger, until it was knocked down by a drunken truck driver in 1973.
