Title: s/t
Format: Double CD
Label: Art Into Life
Country: Japan
Price: $18.00
"Nord, consisting of Satoshi Katayama and Hiroshi Oikawa, were one of the leading groups in the Japanese underground music scene of the 1980s. The groups two members now perform separately, both of them using the Nord moniker. This is the first CD reissue of their debut LP, originally released by Pinakotheca Records in 1981 when they were still performing as a duo. This reissue includes a disk of bonus material recorded around the same time as the LP. The bonus material includes four previously unreleased studio live takes recorded on April 29, 1982, and a complete version (18:49) of their live set at Shinjuku Loft on August 24, 1981 (part of the live set was previously issued on the "Live Materials" cassette on Vanilla Records). A rare glimpse of Katayama and Oikawa as a duo! Limited edition of 300. All tracks newly remastered by Anders Peterson in 2016." - Art Into Life.

Title: Ego Trip
Format: LP
Label: PCP
Country: Germany
Price: $30.00
"Originally released in a miniscule edition of 100 copies. ..two side-long workouts of layered dystopian pulsations. Ego Trip hews rather closer to the air free MB aesthetic that was more latent on LSD. Side A starts a mite tenuously but eventually settles into a pleasingly disorienting suctioning wooze. Side B begins rather annoyingly with someone playing Jefferson Airplanes "Somebody To Love" underneath the electronics for no compelling reason before settling into a very agreeable bit of extended synthetic claustrophobia." -Mutant Sounds. "Exact reissue of the very rare original release from 1985. In handmade/sandpaper cover with stamped insert" - PCP.

Title: L.S.D.
Format: LP
Label: PCP
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
Reissue of the second NORD release from 1984, his first being the 1981 self titled LP on Pinakotecha, an early release for the label after the legendary 愛欲人民十時劇場 compilation LP and KEIJI HAINOs 1st LP. Highly recommended! ".. L.S.D. features rough hewn sheets of ominous yet trippy pulsating textural electronics with an obvious debt to the stark teutonic soundworlds of Kluster and (especially) Seesselberg. Any glimmers of transcendence are immediately offset by a deadzone ambience that reeks of Maurizio Bianchi. Hiroshi Oikawas solo explorations of the galactic void seem considerably more enticing to these set of ears than the more formalized quotidian post-industrial con- structs he was fabricating under the Nord moniker with Satoshi Katayama on their Pinakotheca label debut LP from three years earlier. If this is cos-mic, than its the cosmos as viewed from the vantage point of a burned out cinder drifting into entropy. Gripping stuff!" - Mutant Sounds.

Title: NG Tapes
Format: LP
Label: PCP
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
"Hiroshi Oikawas two mid-80s solo LPs under the Nord moniker are among the rarest and most sought-after Japanese experimental releases of the era. Issued with minimal information (the latter title in a plain black jacket with simply a strip of sandpaper affixed to the front), the albums are dense, otherworldly explorations of the outermost edges -- or innermost core -- of reality. As Mutant Sounds put it, If this is cosmic, than its the cosmos as viewed from the vantage point of a burned out cinder drifting into entropy. Equally mysterious is Oikawas disappearance at the end of the decade. Completely untraceable even to his peers in Japan, he has by all accounts vanished from society, perhaps holed up in some pastoral cottage whiling away the days painting and tending a small garden, or orbiting a distant nebula on an alternate plane of existence. In recent years, PCP Records issued limited-edition re-presses of the two albums, duplicating the original artwork and layout as closely as possible. Now, the label has turned its attention to an even more obscure item in the Nord discography. NG Tapes was released on cassette in a micro edition and available only to purchasers of the 1984 LSD LP (itself limited to 200 copies). With a runtime of over 50 minutes, it delivers a powerful dose of extended synthesizer works -- ominous, pulsing electronics of the highest order -- offset with shorter, more compact post-industrial noise pieces reminiscent of Oikawas 1981 LP with Satoshi Katayama. This one-time, numbered vinyl edition has been carefully remastered from the original cassette and sounds amazing. Every effort was made to adapt the artwork to the 12" format, down to the obi strip that accompanied the package." - PCP.
