Artist: NAR, HIROSHI
Title: 1978.Kobe Motomachi .Sound R
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan
Price: $11.00
"Nar left Les Rallizes Denudes sometime in 1978, the same year as these recordings. Nar love for the Ramones is immediately apparent in the way he marries simple bubblegum melodies to skeletal rhythmic structures. Theres something so mocking and snotty about his delivery that situated the disc in the same neighbourhood as street toughs like Richard Hell and Tom Verlaines Neon Boys." - Wire May 2003.

Title: All I Need
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan
Price: $11.00
"The Japanese label Hello Good-Byes ongoing series documenting underground legend and ex-Rallizes Denudes bassist Hiroshi Nars more formally fucked experiments marches obliviously forward with these two beauties, Gacharn (Hello Good-Bye Studio UNC-0008 3"CD) and All I Need (Hello Good-Bye Studio UNC0009 3"CD). Gacharn is particularly disturbed. Recorded in 1974 while he was still a member of Toshiaki Ishizukas Zuno Keisatsu, its one of Nars patented attention-deficit assemblages, taking off from the burr of chainsaws and birdcalls before moving through episodes that highlight the sound of flesh on flesh, amphetamine piano runs, compositions for hollow pottery and the destruction of new Lego buildings. All I Need is a compliation, with tracks drawn from across Nars career. The title track is a great folk punker from the early 90s, shadowed by the same kind of deeply malvolent atmosphere that cloaked much of Sky Saxons work with Ya Ho Wha 13. The second track was reputedly recorded in 2000 and sounds alarmingly like the cast of Time Bandits re-interpreting Jimi Hendrixs Fire, while track three (no English titles) dates from 1977, while he was still active with Rallizes, and features Nar working snake-charming modal hurricans from an acoustic guitar like it was some kind of Venusian banjo. Neat." - David Keenan, WIRE.

Title: Hiroshi Nar
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan
Price: $11.00
"Recorded in 1977 while he was a member of Les Rallizes Denudes playing bass. "This disc features three punk plukes in the usual no-fi and infected with lip-curling levels of fuzz. Nars pipsqueak vocals work as an effective counterpoint to the aggressively angular arrangements." - David Keenan; WIRE, May 2003.

Title: Koi No Karakuri
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan
Price: $11.00
"This is referred to as another s/t cd in the Wire: Recorded in 1977 while he was a member of Les Rallizes Denudes. This is the most overtly psychedelic. The lazy lollop of his basslines is immediately recognisable from his Rallizes recordings, and the tracks sound similarly dislocated." - David Keenan; WIRE, May 2003.

Title: School Days (1965-1970)
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan

"School Days draws on Nars earliest recordings, primitive blues-based cassette sketches that are every bit as revelatory and personal as Syd Barretts solo recordings or Loren MazzaCanes work as Guitar Roberts, albeit much more formally degenerate." - Wire May 2003.

Title: Wanted Dead or Alive $5000
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Hello Good-bye Studio
Country: Japan
Price: $11.00
"Wanted Dead or Alive $5000 gathers more home recordings, this time from 1974, cut during his tenure with Toshiaki Ishizukas proto-punk Zuno Keisatsu. This is one of his wildest discs, especially the last two tracks: pop songs assembled with a concréte-punk sensibility that splices snatches of electric guitar, Beefheart-styled horn abuseand a hilarious fast rapping baby with doo-wopping rock n roll and frayed folk guitar." David Keenan, Wire May 2003.
