Artist: FLOWER-CORSANO DUO Title: The Undisputed Dimension Format: 7" Label: No-Fidelity Country: UK Price: $11.00 |
|
"Its not often that two musical behemoths clash heads and the result is so powerful and seismic, but there is truly nothing more explosive than this seemingly tiny 7". With one of the worlds best drummers; the magnificent Chris Corsano (Vampire Belt, Death Unit, Vampire Cant, etc.) and one of the UKs prime improvisers Michael Flower (of the Vibracathedral Orchestra) on Japanese banjo this was always going to be something special, but really just how intense these two tracks are is almost impossible to put into words. Anyone who has seen the duo perform live might have an inkling of the kind of heady psychedelic experience their music drags out of you, and on The Undisputed Dimension their shows are truncated to just ten minutes of music." - No-Fidelity.

Artist: FLOWER-CORSANO DUO Title: Four Aims Format: Double LP Label: VHF Country: USA Price: $18.00 |
| "The Four Aims is the much-anticipated second full-length by the long-running duo of MICK FLOWER (VIBRACATHEDRAL ORCHESTRA, SUNROOF, MICHAEL FLOWER BAND) and CHRIS CORSANO (FLAHERTY/CORSANO, JANDEK, BJORK, SUNBURNED). In the couple years since their debut, The Radiant Mirror (Textile), the two have toured and recorded frequently, expanding their range to include a mind-boggling array of free sound. "I, Brute Force" kicks off the record with the electrifying sound of Flowers virtuosic, heavily amplified Japan Banjo (also known as a Shaahi Baaja) over Corsanos free-wheeling percussion. Other tracks show off subtle improv moves, with both players using extended techniques to generate a wide range of unusual sounds. Corsanos technical mastery is almost without peer in his generation (Alex Neilson, maybe)-his ability to take the lessons of nearly five decades of free playing and extend them into new ranges is startling and exciting. Rather than play backup, Corsano meets Flowers strings and organ head-on with his own drum-bowing, cello, and circular-breathing-fired melodica." - VHF |
