Title: Fire Plays Dub Landing
Format: Cass
Label: Ya Reach
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"Sorta out of left-field, as all of Fire Plays Dub Landing stretches for about 22 minutes, this tape came at me (as always) from an anonymous e-mailer [Fire], and it’s burning. It’s like torching your pipe with the hot end of a pistol, considering the j-card art. But completely in a zone that’s cooked in a bath of dub, stripped of it’s reel and duct-taped in warps of bow-tie wrapped echos and chambers of colossal infinity. There’s so much space in the emptiness of Fire Plays Dub Landing that locations feel more like unexplored regions of minds, like going back to that elementary school you once grew up in, looking for nooks and crannies in crevasses you remember, but never actually ventured into. A forgotten nostalgia that follows you in dreams, creeping up like a nightmare, but it’s really just a blissful sleep paralysis, and laying there in the wonder of wake/REM euphoria, finding Fire in a smashed mirage, will you then come to the odyssey of dub madness. It’s pure in a silk way that has little pulled sections of strands. It’s lit and charring into the residual. It’s Fire Plays Dub Landing. GRIP THE TAPE!!!" - Tiny Mix Tapes.

Artist: THOMAS JEFFERSON SLAVE APARTMENTS
Title: You Lookin For Treble?
Format: CD
Label: Year Zero
Country: USA
Price: $8.00
"Comprised of material recorded between 1989 and 1994, You Lookin for Treble? is the musical equivalent of Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments junior-high yearbook. A document of the bands early, occasionally awkward stages, the album is marked by lineup shifts (detailed in the liner notes) and the usual trappings of a new band trying to find its sound. Over the course of Treble?s 20 tracks, the band gels into an abrasive, yet danceable, noisy punk outfit (fittingly heavy on the treble all the way around) led by vocalist Ron House who was quite clearly trying to distance himself musically from his recently disbanded bouncy rock/new wave outfit Great Plains. With the rhythm section in an almost constant state of turnover, the bands sound is defined by Houses snide tirades and Bob Petricks nimble guitar work characterized by a winning balance of barred chords and false harmonics (also present in Petricks other first-rate outfit, Girly Machine). Of the songs included on You Lookin for Treble?, only one, "You Cant Kill Stupid," ever found its way on to a proper Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments studio effort (a cleaned up take appears on 1995s Bait & Switch), though several others can be found on the bands impossible-to-find early singles and their infamous promo-only 10", as well as various compilation records (at least half a dozen of the songs are available on volumes one and two of Datapanik Records Greatest Hits). You Lookin for Treble? serves nicely as the missing link between Houses exit from Great Plains and Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments 1995 major-label debut, Bait & Switch, on the American/Onion imprint." - AllMusic. Sorta tough to find, not very well distributed, 1997 release from Ron House and crew. 500 pressed.

Format: Cass
Label: Yeay!
Country: USA
Price: $5.00
"a kinky continuous loop of this band in their most defribulated and deconstructed - a few songs & a wealth of treatments of 4 track fragments, digital scrubbery, tape collage, & eeew! improvisation. totally gay package is hand spray-painted in their infamous paranoid googly-eyed motif.  "Music streams along, a song here and there, and lots of slurpage and bleepage. Gleeping electronics get hi-jacked by exploding clusters that are sometimes identifiable as guitar, bass, and drums. Vocalist knows better than to overdo it or try to keep up, so (s)he just kind of cuckoos every now and then, and does it well. Absolutely whacked song structures; they work hard on this." - Fuzz-O Dolman, Blastitude 16. spraypainted case /photocopy insert." - Yeay!

Title: 324 E. 13th Street #7
Format: Double LP
Label: Yellow Electric
Country: USA
Price: $25.00
Double LP issue of the 1999 Drunken Fish CD. "Ten singles and two albums. At a certain point during my stay in the apartment on 13th Street I either said it to myself or said it out loud -- I cant recall -- but that seemed a realistic target all things considered. Few distractions, few visitors, few appointments. A busy city to break up the endless music looping in my head long after the headphones had been taken off. A micro-studio easily patched together and able to be configured in only one or two variations. Time to pay some dues. Both to the 45 single and the concept album. The small vinyl artefact that fed my musical appetite at key times in my life. No b" sides if it could be helped. Chasing a theme for as long as it took. Waiting for the real pattern to emerge. The perfect visual ratios of 7" and 12" cover art. Talking with the dead. Replying to the faded parsimony of a young fan and would-be maker of records (me): "Get it down now because this may be as good as it gets," "Dont wait for a real label to pay for your studio time," "Time spent recording should always at least match time spent playing live." I figured that the universal average for bands and recording artists was one, maybe two, good singles and an OK album then oblivion or, worse, a slow decline through contractual obligations. The only contract I had was with a scattering of friends, mostly American, who were there to deal with the out-pourings, should they arrive. And things had bottled up. Time to un-bottle. Not all at once. A few minutes at a time only for the intense stuff. Handing over bracketed ideas to this or that label as an act of faith. Then watching in awe as others transformed signals into objects. And here, running full circle in the literal sense, seven goes into 12 many times, with folk new and old keeping the faith. Lucky me. -Roy Montgomery. Housed in a gatefold sleeve. Includes three new songs, new artwork and unpublished photos, and an insert with an updated intro by Bill Meyer and Roy Montgomery. Remastered by Timothy Stollenwerk." - Yellow Electric.

Format: LP
Label: Yellow Electric

"Twenty-three short and moody narratives, reminiscent of Carlos Paredes. Solo guitar music and loops from recordings he rediscovered/revisited several years ago. A galaxy, or a sketch book; they belong all together." -Yellow Electric.

Title: Split
Format: LP
Label: Yellowelectric
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Self-released second vinyl pressing of the split by Inca Ore and Grouper. Initially self-released on tape in 2007. This version has new black and white artwork. Though its a proper split, each side resonates strongly with the other--hissing and dream-sick, songs whispered in the dark. Inca Ores side is feverish and haunted, much of it recorded while on a somewhat nightmarish journey taken through Mexico several years ago. Groupers side is distorted and pitch-twisted Wurlitzer and guitar songs, recorded during a rain heavy winter, about unexplainable disappearances, invisible structures." -Yellowelectric

Title: The Apocalypse Will Blossom
Format: CD
Label: Yesmissolga
Country: Italy
Price: $16.00
“2007 release. Charlemagne Palestines The Apocalypse Will Blossom is a stunning piano performance that brings Palestines recorded work thundering into the 21st century. Working in the lower registers of the piano, as Palestine did in the late 70s, this intensely powerful live performance is unlike anything hes previously released. Recorded in 2000 by Christoph Heemann at the Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst in Aachen, Germany (on the occasion of the 1000-year celebration of Charlemagne), and subsequently processed by Heemann, The Apocalypse Will Blossom offers the closest experience one can have to hearing Palestine live without witnessing one of his performances. This recording is offered in a CD digipak printed in full color with a collage inspired by Palestines visual work representing the four horsemen of the apocalypse and an original collage detail of Triomphe de la Morte by the French artist Jacques Brissot. Charlemagne, NOW!” - Yesmissolga.

Title: Painting with Priests
Format: CD
Label: Yesmissolga
Country: Italy
Price: $16.00
“Yessmissolga presents the CD release of the long-fabled duo collaboration by Steven Stapleton and Christoph Heemann. This historic live performance took place on November 21, 2009, at the ancient Ivrea Synagogue in Ivrea, Italy. After working together for many years on various Current 93, Nurse with Wound, and H.N.A.S. sessions, these two old friends met for a rare moment of performance completely independent of thematic material and engaged in a near-telepathic, mysterious one-to-one improvisation, where textural worlds merge, hot, on the spot. While one may discover an intriguing intersection between each of their respective solo works, the real magic of this duo encounter evokes something strangely unfamiliar and altogether new. With this generous edit of the highly acclaimed concert, Painting with Priests exhibits a rare session of both artists eccentric talents in a palette of colors and mystery across a highly detailed musical canvas. Front cover features new artwork by Stapleton, with back cover featuring a previously unpublished drawing by Heemann. Packaged in a full-color Japanese-style gatefold mini-jacket featuring a totally different Stapleton front cover and alternate mix from the LP version released on Robot Records/Elica Editions (ROBOT 044LP).” - Yesmissolga.

Title: Between The Infinite And The Finite
Format: LP
Label: Yew
Country: USA
Price: $25.00
"Between The Infinite And The Finite is Zaimphs first solo studio recording. Three new improvisations capture field recordings of stolen conversations, live radio and echoes that shimmer in a reverberant magnetic darkness of empty corridors. Spectral spaces entwine with the corporeal, amplified strings blossom in explosions, repetition and ominous tones of destruction and decline, slowly sequenced into a fragile space of beauty. The instinctive activity seeps into our deepest subconscious. Zaimph is the solo project of Marcia Bassett (Double Leopards, Hototogisu, GHQ). Since the mid-90s, Bassett has been exploring free-form improvisational music and spontaneous sound in her collaborations and solo work. Between The Infinite And The Finite is comprised of three new works using analog and digital synthesizers, processed voice, field recordings, piano and amplified strings. Recorded in the intimacy of Brooklyns Bunker Studios by Stephen Conover. A horror takes form in the living contradiction which exists in the clash between the infinite and the finite. Everything thats here exists. Artwork by Marcia Bassett. Edition of 300." - Yew.

"Imagine Yourself Here....is the inaugural release on Marcia Bassetts new label YEW. The cover is a parody advertisement taken from an ad for luxury condos in the heart of Williamsburg Brooklyn. The promise of authenticity and Bohemia turned into pricey real estate. Bassetts dense hypnotic soundscapes recontextualize this superficial advertising to create an otherwordly existence. Side a opens out from metronomic foreboding into the whispering night-processes, before breaking apart under mesmeric vocal laments and fractured rhythms of dark space. Side bs woven textures blend with languorous insistent variations exploring the inside-outside dialectic of perception. Edition of 300 in full color sleeves with insert." - Yew.

Side a, New Exclusive Digital Stonehenge, is a ruptured circuit of distorted control patterns. A demolition of experience melts into liquid sound, always evading linearity, forging an allegorical bridge between an outer world of reality and the truth of a digital inner space. Living Fiction on side b follows a remote dream of death skulls and industrial nihilism, its structure and processes constantly sabotaged by chaotic deviations and cold incantations. Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Yik Yak
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Hototogisu ⿿ the duo of UK experimentalist Matthew Bower (Skullflower/Sunroof et al) and New York-based-guitarist Marcia Bassett (Double Leopards/Zaimph/GHQ) ⿿ are all about impact, about taking the physical aspect of sound and hallucinating it to the point of abstraction, so much so that for all of the complexity of their music it often sounds like its standing still, simply hanging in the air and vibrating without anything approaching a plot to bring it to a point. By contrast, Burning Star Core, the trio of drummer Trevor Tremaine, Robert Beatty on electronics (both of whom also play in Hair Police alongside Mike Connelly of Wolf Eyes) and C.Spencer Yeh on violin and electronics, are more overtly propulsive, usurping classic rock form via electronics and drums but still focused on momentum, on the jam as a form of structural gravity, on the unfolding of action via development over time. This all-improvised studio meeting is the perfect reconciliation of both tendencies, of Hototogisus obsessive layering of strata after strata of violently conceived noise and of Burning Star Cores epic, post-Kraut thunder-punk style. Bower has long been on record about his opposition to anything approaching dialogue in improvised music, favouring a senses-devouring simultaneity over anything that might pass for actual exchange, so its no surprise that there is little on this new record that sounds even close to conventionally improvised music. Instead, it feels more focused towards the zone where energy begins to spontaneously birth form, where the monomaniacal pursuit of the nowhere zone bears fruit in the shape of a music that transcends its constituent parts while being totally based around ⿿ and rooted in - the individual response to the moment. BXC play it ginchy and garage-pop right from the start, simultaneously inverting and amplifying Bower and Bassetts vertical constructs with drums that sound like they might have been lifted straight from the most flower-power parts of the Silver Apples back catalogue and bass patterns that are as tactile and rock-anchored as Cans Holger Czukay. To hear Hototogisus music given this kind of injection of dynamic energy makes them seem more obviously sourced in classic rock music than you might otherwise have guessed, with a dense, implosive sound that feels like a hyper-distilled take on all of rocks most outlaw aspects, the feedback that makes you feel like you could explode in a ball of electricity, the anti-gravity effect of heavy fuzz, the seductive, alien tongues. Its certainly the most garage band side that either of the groups have cut to date, albeit in the form of a Gnostic, post-acid re-think where the vibration is more important than the outer forms, where energized enthusiasm makes for a more fundamental guiding principle than verse/chorus/verse and where the only direction left is out. Which is another way of saying it feels genuinely bad-ass. In an era where even the best groups seem polite, pro, participatory, democratic, this is music that is disregarding in its overwhelming power, exhilarating in it irresponsible spontaneity. And in an underground scene where self-conscious notions of avant-garde and free improvisation have long displaced any concept of an intuitive rocks off-style, well, it feels like a re-connection to the source. So file this one closer to Kill City or Sticky Fingers than Persian Surgery Dervishes or The Black Album and feel the gravity of your whole record collection shift." - David Keenan, Glasgow, November 2008.

Format: CD

Price: $10.00
"Baptized in the flames of the music world as openers for the likes of Deerhoof, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, and Calvin Johnson, Le Ton Mites "off hand influences simmer amid a mire of Morse-code tones resulting in the spirit of the guitar being thrown to the ground if not the actual instrument itself" (LA Weekly). Based in Olympia, Washington, Le Ton Mite takes its cues from broken folk to reinvent the wheels of rock. The trio of vocalists, duo of guitars and solo keyboard play songs based on group improvization and the boiled down compositions of ringleader McCloud Zicmuse. "We Need to Grow to Giant Size" documents the seed from which the band has indeed grown. This recording is a limited edition of 500 numbered copies in handmade letterpressed packaging designed and printed by Zicmuse." - Yik Yak.

Artist: MARTIN, ROBERT
Title: Long Goodbye
Format: LP
Label: Yik Yak
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"I first heard ROBERT MARTINs Long Goodbye while surrounded by friends. Even over the din of voices rallying to quantify, qualify, contain, bag and tag what we were all hearing, I was sure Id never heard anything quite like it. Long Goodbye opens with some broken acoustic noodling that sounds like a Derek Bailey slow motion replay, over which a double-tracked cry of voices transmits mournfully, meticulously, and with an unnerving sense of purpose. From there it gets stranger and more beautiful, as Martin sings with unique abandon-is there such a thing as sad joy?-often wordlessly, frequently incoherently. The tunefulness of Martins achingly beautiful voice sits in sharp contrast to the crudely played guitar, and sets Martin apart from his lamentably more in the know contemporaries. There are few touchstones for the magic contained herein-Bobb Trimble at his most wounded, Tony Caro and Johns All On The First Day LP, the earliest blues recordings of Guitar Roberts-but Martins intensely private music is all his own. And now, ours to share."-James Jackson Toth San Francisco, July 2007.

Title: T-Bone Parts 1 & 2
Format: 7"
Label: Yik Yak
Country: USA
Price: $5.00
"Another well-smoked slab of glorious  "what the fuck?" by visionary caterwaulers of chaos and ex-Chicago blues cruisers, No Doctors.  Equal parts backwards boogie and straight skullfucking confusion,  "T-Bone Pt. 1" stomps one through hard and thick, slinging broken barn-boned riffs that collide head on with sputtering cross-eyed measures of brilliance and back again.  "T-Bone Pt. 2" ensues after a quick flip to side B as you and your square-minded notions are slapped straight in the face with a wet hose spewing talkin box (!) snarl and ultimately delivers your blown mind on a broken piece of hobo-stew stained porcelain." - Noel Von Harmonson (Comets On Fire). "Like the Grateful Dead and Royal Trux, No Doctors possess the ability to start off playing the most rudimentary of folk forms and then subtly shift into exploded, free-form sonic excursions." - Justin F. Farrar (East Bay Express).

Guitar and electronics are deposited in a sacrificial heap at the gates of hell, sickly intertwined and indistinguishable. Bathed in the blood of apocalyptic alchemy, this caterwauling creature rears two heads and screams one wrathful scream. Title: Friends of Mine
Format: LP
Label: Yoga
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"Jill Cislaghi cut her one and only album in 1977, during her senior year at Regis College in Massachusetts. She recorded solely for friends, family, and as a memento for the members of her graduating class. Friends of Mine describes the loves and tribulations of Cislaghis life with a mixture of naiveté and wisdom. With nothing more than her voice and (mostly unplugged) guitar, Cislaghis folk sound is singular and resonant, bold yet humble. Friends of Mines hopeful yet wintry vision should appeal to fans of Sibylle Baier, Karen Dalton, Ruthann Friedman, and Ted Lucas. Title: The Crippled Dog Band
Format: CD
Label: Yoga
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"The year was 1983, and Bobb Trimble had two then-unrecognized masterpieces to his credit and a lot of confusion and indifference from his fellow travelers in the Worcester, MA "Wormtown" scene. Never one to worry much about appearances, Bobb accepted an invitation to join a group of teenage boys who called themselves The Crippled Dog Band, named after Boopsie, a three-legged canine local. Bobb donned the title of Chief Crippled Dog and led the Band on enthusiastically-received gigs throughout the region. Unbeknownst to almost anyone, they completed a raucous album full of addictive hooks, feedback, teen chatter and video game noises. But soon the Band splintered and Bobb decided to forget about the whole thing, disposing of the entire 500-count LP pressing in an office park dumpster. All of which would be nothing more than a typically weird footnote to the Bobb Trimble legend, except for the fact that The Crippled Dog Band is very different from, but every bit as remarkable and brilliant as Iron Curtain Innocence and Harvest Of Dreams. Having proved himself, if only to himself, this is where Bobb stops chasing glass menagerie fantasies of perfection, tempers the dread of his first two records, and reconnects with his DIY roots. This unique collaboration between "the greatest psychedelic musician of the 80s" and his scrappy acolytes yields pure rock and roll and the effect is raw, crazy, and infectiously exciting." -Yoga

Artist: MORRIS/CHRIS RIGGS/BEN HALL, JOE
Title: Glass Key
Format: LP
Label: You Are Your Only Machine
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Perhaps the most brutal and barbed recording in Joe Morriss catalog, this LP documents the new working trio of drummer and timpanist Ben Hall, young guitar phenom Chris Riggs, slightly older guitar phenom and New England Conservatory contemporary improvisation teacher Morris. This LP is the first release from Morris -- perhaps the most important American improvising guitarist ever -- recording with another guitarist. Riggs, for his part, is putting all the other stomp box preparers to shame with his intensely personal and creative solo output -- think human Remko Scha machine. In addition to his solo output hes one half of the, ahem, lowercase but wearing brass knuckles extended technique unit Trauma. The communication between the two guitarists, Riggs providing huge swathes of tectonic chordal movement and Morris providing fiddle filigree that weaves, cuts, and pierces, is unexplored post-Blue Humans-guitar v. guitar territory that has become a thoroughly beaten dead horse amongst the rock coterie but has never really been taken up in a post-jazz setting. Here with Hall providing ample snare-and-bell patterns, as played by a Tony Williams/Xenakis wannabe, the two do the push-and-pull to great extreme =- all visceral extension without succumbing to the whole improv guitar chest-beating/wank thing. Natch. LP/Custom stay flat sleeve with gloss sticker/hand numbered edition of 300." -You Are Your Only Machine

Country: Germany
Price: $32.00
"featuring two sound poetry recordings from 1973, "Arbeiten - ein Stück für alle" (already released as tape on the S Press label back in 1973) and "Cudrefin (minuit) - Found Music No.1" (previously unreleased). the first 250 copies include an onesided bonus 7inch with his track "Dont you may be, the ssential interview" from the famous "Futura - Poesia Sonora" boxset (Cramps Records)." - You Dont Have To Call It Music.

"Nikolaus Einhorn is a young German writer who has already produced a good number of sound poems. He is trying to realize a non-abstract oral poetry free from all written notation, a construction which comes directly from the mind and memory. "Dont you may be, the essential interview", composed in 1975 represents a hypothetical interview with the U.S. musician John Cage, the representative of non-music, that is, of that school which, by rejecting the forms and structures of composition, has brought about a crisis in traditional and contemporary musical composition, and which, using different techniques principally of the aleatory type, affirms the validity of musical silence, also on ontological grounds. In our opinion this "essential interview" establishes a series of tautological circularities, underlined by the repetition of Cages "smile / little laugh". Nikolaus Einhorn was born at Dresden in 1940. He studied German and English in Munich and earns his living as a teacher at the Dusseldorf high-school. In 1970 he co-founded the S Press Tape Series, a label that was dedicated to acoustical literature (sound poetry), which today is one of the most important means of diffusion of experimental poetry. He has published numerous essays on the avant-garde of the twentieth century and a volume of essays on the literary work of Kurt Schwitters, published by the magazine "Text + Kritik". He has also produced radio programs on such authors as Otto Nebel, Raoul Hausmann, Henri Chopin, and on the poetry of the North American Indians." - UbuWeb.

The 7" includes two tracks with voice in best minimal synth style. "Absolute stunning compilation of this early 1980s minimal electronics/ industrial band. The 7" is great but the 2LP document is even more mind- blowing. This is where minimal electronics and psychedelic music meet. Truly old style industrial music as it should be... not aiming at noise for noise but at delivering a great listening experience. A massive compilation that is besides a great document also simply a brilliant release to listen to." - Martijn van Gessel, Enfant Terrible.

Title: Oramics
Format: 4 LP
Label: Young Americans
Country: UK
Price: $49.00
"Young Americans is a new label operating under the Modern Love umbrella, proud to present an extremely special vinyl pressing of some of the most important early electronic music ever made. Daphne Oram was the founder of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, a department she more or less single-handedly created in 1958, camping out at the BBC studios for nights on end splicing tapes and working with various modified machines to create her abstract soundscapes. Eventually the BBC bent under her pressure and in studio 13 created the soon-to-be-legendary Radiophonic Workshop, with Daphne Oram as its first director. Oram also invented her own "drawn-sound" technique, a process whereby strips of 35mm film would be manipulated before being fed into her home-made "Oramics" machine which would convert and "read" the film into sound. Despite her considerable and historic list of achievements, Orams life and work remain largely unknown by the wider public. As this remarkable 44-track collection shows, however, her work ranks amongst the most varied and pioneering ever made, and its quite incredible to think that this is the first time any of these precious recordings have been available on vinyl. 155 minutes/8 sides of vinyl cut by Lupo at D&M, housed in a heavyweight 300 gram gatefold sleeve, featuring rare archive photographs." -Young Americans

Title: The Daphne Oram Tapes: Volume One
Format: 4 LP
Label: Young Americans
Country: UK
Price: $50.00
"Daphne Oram, founder of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, died in 2003 leaving a colossal archive of reel-to-reel tapes and documents behind. This important collection of material eventually made its way to Goldsmiths College, London, who have been administering it on behalf of the Daphne Oram Trust for the last few years. The collection holds over 400 tapes made by Oram during her lifetime, and 211 of those have been archived and catalogued by the college so far. The Daphne Oram Tapes: Volume One is the result of almost two years spent trawling through the archive in an attempt to piece together a coherent document of one of the most pioneering and genuinely experimental characters in electronic music history. Although some of Orams recordings have surfaced on the Oramics compilation (YOUNGAM 001LP), this compilation reveals a complex, dark and sometimes disturbing body of work which has, until now, been partially obscured by the more recognizable Radiophonic bleeps and whirrs the Workshop is best known for. This first volume focuses on Orams love of experimental forms, of musique concrète, of the science and mystery of sound and composition. It comes at a time when her work is only just starting to gain wider acknowledgment in scholarly as well as popular circles. The "Oramics" machine (the first electronic musical instrument in history to be designed and built by a woman) has gone on display at the Science Museum in London, an important step in what will no doubt be a sustained effort to assert Orams rightful position as one of the most important figures in modern music. Working through the archive has been a life-changing experience, revealing a wealth of musical treasures that include recordings and sound effects made for Stanley Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey and Jack Claytons The Innocents, all the way through to field recordings made in Africa. This first volume, put together with the help of Goldsmiths and Daphnes family, is the first in a planned series that will, for the first time, make Orams most important and personal recordings available for public consumption. Deluxe quadruple vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve." -Young Americans

Price: $25.00
"Suum Cuique (pronouned "su-um-kwi-kwe" -- Latin for "to each his own") follows the remit of Young Americans to explore uncharted, experimental, and personal synthscapes, guided by the hand of intuition with an entirely analogue array of machines. In "Lithic Reduction," concrète textures grind like a millstone to release powdery clouds of analog dust, settling only to be dispersed by gusts of blackened distortion, whereas "Red Binary" is distinctly electronic, revolving around muted radar bleeps like the resonance from Selected Ambient Works II soundtracking a speckly pill experience thats starting to go west. The albums centerpiece, the aptly titled "Entropy" nods to the sublimely stoic work of Eleh, radiating microtonal bass shifts while a bitter northerly wind builds in intensity. "Cyclic Redundancy" opens the flipside with a majestically submerged slab of completely obliterated and submerged 4/4, like an unholy collusion between Mika Vainio, Sandwell and Bernard Parmegiani soundtracking a trade union rave in the 1950s, before "Even In Death..." conjures imagery of a eulogy given by a Mongolian throat singer with crows circling overhead. Limited to 400 copies for the world, comes in a deluxe white-on-white embossed sleeve. Mastered at Dubplates and Mastering in Berlin." -Young Americans

Only here can one man come up against another, individually in a void, and speak collectively to the disintegration of his being. A city where the deluge of beauty is mystified by the constant groan of economy undermining a perpetually dissolving modernity. As it looms, it showers upon us the debris of its newest and most ragged disharmonies to stimulate our malignant activities and applaud the constant awakening of our intangible reality. These luminous sights, sounds, and sensations of this mythological frontier are but mere scuffles and flurries under the crumbling stone and iron exposed to the decay and the terror of the overwhelming shadows that engulf us." - Youth Attack.

"An entire year after they were initially pressed, the Beak Full Of Rubies one-sided LPs are finally finished, printed, amazing and ready for the world. Scott Deroche, Chuck Sipperly & Chandan Narayan, collective improvisers and Michigan noise dudes in a sub-category of natural and organic fascination improvise and rustle in an elctro-acoustic via sampled noise and prepared instruments style. We did a CDR with them many months back as part of the Tuesday series, and they have some heavy sky-oriented tracks on comp tapes and CDs from Zum, Hanson, Encore Recordings. This is their first official vinyl release, but more should come soon in various forms. Only 100 copies pressed and well worth the wait for hand-painted covers, like an actual painting in the fine-art sense and not like slabbed on Crayola watercolors.
