Artist: V/A Title: Uberkatze Studio Volume One Format: Book/DVDR Label: Uberkatze Country: USA Price: $30.00 |
|
"Six of the most popular films from Uberkatze studio circa 1997-2004. The early days of Anti-Naturals cinema presented in a beautiful soft cover book which includes stills from each of the films. The films:
The Problem Of Anxiety (Timothy Shortell, Music: BRRR) - An excellent static short. Based on a text by Sigmund Freud.
The Terrible Comet Salt (Timothy Shortell, Music: Idea Fire Company and BRRR, Narration: Darren Harris) - I love all of these films, but I think this is my favourite. Comet Salt consists entirely of still photographs combined with an expressionist story by Paul Scheerbart read by Darren Harris and a pulsing hypnotic score by IFCO and BRRR. Word, image, and sound flow together perfectly, although the photographs are more of an atmospheric illustration of the story, than a dramatic representation. Perfect throughout.
Right Now! (Scott Foust, Music: Tart) - Right Now! was my first film, a ten minute epic.Although it isnt really, in my mind it is the same film as my full length epic, Heres To Love!. This one holds up on its own, though.
Ulrich (Timothy Shortell, Music: Graham Lambkin) - One of the Doctors war trilogy. Toy soldiers and cleverly camera manipulated still photos. Disturbing soundtrack.
Soon (Timothy Shortell, Music: BRRR) - A short, short film depicting the Anti-Naturals constant power struggle. Tim is the figure in black. I am in orange.
Rouffley (Timothy Shortell and Graham Lambkin, Music: Graham Lambkin) -Lambkin and Shortells short morality tale that has to be seen to be even imagined.
All Anti-Naturals films deny many elements of modern conventional cinema in order to create new, fresh atmospheres. I expect that when Heres To Love! is finally released in 2007, interest will grow in the whole of Anti-Naturals cinema and this will become a sought after item. Uniqueness is so rare these days. Outstanding object." - Swill Radio. Contributions from members of Shadow Ring, Idea Fire Company, Tart, etc..

Artist: LAMBKIN, GRAHAM & TIMOTHY SHORTELL Title: Motion Paintings Format: DVD/Book Label: Uberkatze Studio Country: USA Price: $17.00 |
| "Awesome video and sound work by two of my heroes. There are 15 different motion paintings, each accompanied by loop based music. The motion paintings are abstract videos of colourful and impossible organic processes. Beautiful to look at and superbly complimented by the soundtrack. All camera shot. No annoying digital effects. I cant say I have ever seen anything quite like Motion Paintings rare beauty. Outstanding work." - Swill Radio. Graham Lambkin = 1/3 of The Shadow RIng. |

Artist: SHORTELL, TIMOTHY Title: Windows Format: Book + CDR Label: Uberkatze Studio Country: USA Price: $48.00 |
| 40 page full-color photo book (perfect bound) with accompanying music. Shortell is AKA Brrr, and a founding member of the Anti-Naturals with Scott Foust, Karla Borecky, Graham Lambkin, and Tim Goss. "The music uses synthetic elements, industrial sounds and instruments alongside field recordings. The latter are never gratuitous, nor are they merely a window-dressing (if one will pardon the pun), but function as structural elements to the music. "Tropical Storm Irene" is a good example of this, whereby the sounds of rain are manipulated to take on the same glissando as the synthesized elements, lending the whole affair a rather maudlin tone. Shortell himself writes in the (brief) liner notes that windows serve “as a boundary and a portal between public and private in social life”. While he quickly goes on to state that this project addresses the aesthetic potential of windows, rather than the sociological functions (latent or otherwise), the last track, "Parque Hotel", sounds rather analagous to just that boundary. Murky and incomprehensible vocals are augmented by washing synth lines, as though reflecting the listeners moments of eye contact with diners while peering into a busy restaurant. Surely the albums flagship, and somewhat reminiscent of Idea Fire Companys work (it is released on the Anti-Naturals imprint Überkatze Studio, and mixed by Graham Lambkin after all)." - Cut and Run blog. |

Artist: AGATHOCLES/SISSY SPACEK Title: Unpleasant Size 01 Format: 7" Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $12.00 |
|
"About 15 years too late! Finally out. This is the first 7" in a year long monthly series of limited 7"s that will really be all over the place. Anything goes: from the acid of Pierre Elitair to the Mincecore of Agathocles or a prank by Frieder Butzmann! This first one could actually be an LP! As usual with noisecore, grind or mince, this one has more tracks on it than 5 LPs together! 10 songs by each band, Agathocles drills holes in your skull and pours in a cocktail of assgrinding diarrhea recorded on a rehearsal right before their Mexican tour! This is no fancy pants studio recordings but the raw tapedeck deal, muffled grunts and painful fastness. On the flip side Sissy takes it away with some Gerogerigegege styled noisecore shaving off your nose and eyelashes, feels like the recording is actually sitting in a giant amp!!!!! A brutal slap of preparé right there! Comes in a fold open cover design by Debby Tyfus, with lyrics etc. Limited to 300 copies." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: ANGST HASE PFEFFER NASE Title: Glistening Inn Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
| "ANGST HASE PFEFFER NASE; glistening inn lp very very excited to anounce the first lp in 10 years by masachussets based ANGST HASE PFEFFER NASE!!! pretty much 9 years it took to make this album, i can not say i know a lot of people that have the patience to work on one thing that long, maybe i am mistaking hyper neurotic action with patience here though...ANGST HASE PFEFFER NASE is the moniker of CHRIS COOPER a multi instrumentalist, cat and moustache toucher, neologist and member/guitarist or ex member/guitarist of bands such as DEERHOOF, a duo with BILL NACE called BUDDIES (though nace would love to see that name changed..), TURBWASN, FAT WORM OF ERROR, BARN OWL, CAROLINER etc etc etc...probably this is one of the most intense and most "filled" records UE released so far, a percise collage of beautiful sound made with more instruments then a parrot could handle, such as Plastic guitar, bass, clarinet, banjo, optigon/organ,egg slicer, ratchets, broken toys, fan motors, whirliegigs, glasses, tape loops..etc. poor rabbits quickly hide when they see the red head with the twitching eye play his tunes with more then 34 hands at the same time, this could be the soundtrack for some seriously fucked up road circus, dead rabbits crawl out of a lazy elephants hat while a sad tapeloop of a rotting harmonium plays your uncle vomits fave cough sirup tap dance blur, oozing for some romantic noise crackles, the nostalgia of the banana fish days putss him down in his cough again wheeping like a black cat on an attic in new jersey! ANGST HASE has previously released 1lp, 2 7"s, some comp tracks, and a recycled tape for rrr. reminiscent to some caroliner, kemialliset ystävät, hans grusels krankenkabinet, etc. full colour cover art/collage and full colour insert by dennis tyfus. limited to 500 copies." - Ultra Eczema |

Artist: AVARUS Title: Toosassa Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
|
"When you go to Finland, a country where 95 % of the population is inbred, chances are that you will meet at least 7 members of the Avarus family! You can smell them from a mile away, theyre the adults raising their kids on homebrew white spirit, continuously producing the kind of farts you cant hear though the stench is worse than the ones that sound like a brassband. Behind every Finnish tree there is a member of Avarus humping another Avarus member, and rarely a Kemialliset Ystavat member (the other 5% of Finns). The government of Finland is not proud of this sick family, they try to keep it silent, rarely give interviews to press from other countries and make sure planes hardly fly out. Though for some reason Arttu Partinen, Roope Eronen and Tero Niskanen made it as a trio in a small boat to the USA. The only instruments that made it were a few balloons and a crappy Casio. On arrival they found a microphone, a drum and more toys, climbed the WFMU building and played the craziest session ever! Like a bunch of children discovering the 50s Euro avant garde scene, the 60s psychedelic free jazz and pre-punk scene, the 70s sound poetry and punk scene and the 80s disco scene in one afternoon!! This LP sounds like a mix of all of that I guess. Limited to 300 copies, comes in a psychedelic duo coloured cover by Dennis Tyfus." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: BIRTH REFUSAL & CASSIS CORNUTA Title: Collaboration Format: One Sided LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $26.00 |
| "during the last euro tour of WOLF EYES, john olson (of american tapes, spykes, guam river etc..) and mike connelly (of gods of tundra, hair police, failing lights etc..) decided it was enough! they screamed "IM NOT GOING TO BED!!! I NEVER WANNE SLEEP AGAIN!!!", they missed their flights and stayed in antwerp with the ultra audiobored horror crew for 7 more weeks without food and drinks, just dry weed and cancerbags to suck on! after that intense test to see if they could adapt to the antwerp life style, they finally met up with legendary belgian eccentric cacti and hat collector CASSIS CORNUTA, this psychadelic caracter brought his whole space synth and tape lab over to radio centraal to record an intense last gasp jam with the hardly breathing olson and connelly, the end result is an amazing trip to space and back to the mental hospital! like pouring lighter fluid and tabasco up your genitals or like olson states it so beautifully; like pissing on your own hand, freezing it and then using it as a lollypop for 5 days! comes in a gross 6 panel cover design and with an etch on the b side!" - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: BOB & LOU Title: Five Tracks 1991-1993 Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "one of the earliest cdrs on ultra eczema was a Bob & Lou cdr, which were also recordings from the 90s, and which, together with discovering the insane recorded archive of cassis cornuta, sparkled the idea of collecting and publishing the lost recordings of these belgian weirdos! Bob & Lou is the pseudonym for the duo field recording / electro-acoustic synth project that Peter De Ceulaer and Luther Vanhoof started in the late 80s. They never played live as Bob & Lou although both of them also played in SPACECACTUS, a loose collective that would play live and build side specific soundart installations. A lot of the Bob & lou recordings were used in radioplays they would construct for Radio Centraal in Antwerp. Bob would also record most jingles for the radio and was the chairman there until he sadly passed away on october 30 of last year, therfore this record carries a incredibly typical "centraal sound", since i got obsessed with this insane radio station this strange combination of library space music, radical satire, fassbinder, klaus schulze and percise field recording styles has not left me ever! The obsession of hunting down the right microphones, synthesizers and self build metal instruments in combination with the ability to build, mix, cut and paste and change any existing format resulted in a amazing recorded archive and a giant studio where no one but Bobby Colombo could find his way around... This record is limited to 200 copies and comes with a "real" photo, developed at the colunst house, a fold open space poster and a sleeve with more archival photography on it." -Ultra Eczema |

"after some years now, a archival lp of cassis cornuta is a more than welcome break!! basicly the only archival material of him availble is the double cdr he did 5 years agao or so.
DE GEBRADEN ZWAAN ZINGT is daniel renders weekly noise radioshow on radio centraal, since 25 years this show has been mixing recycled music, private recordings, broken records, tapeloops, field recordings and a ton of noise! this record is a small collection of recordings made exactly 25 years ago at home in antwerp, using cassetteloops, cassetteplayers whose buttons when pressed in a particular way allowed for variable playback speed, tunrtable (16, 33, 45 , 78 rpm) whose driving wheel could be deregulated to produce extreme slow playback or complete manual control of the record movement, feedback mechanisms, radio noise, radio signals, piano, copper pipes, cans etc..
very primitive bagger that brings to mind early blockaders etc
comes in a sleeve with 2 photos from 25 years back, with daniel sporting a huge type of mowhawk, an insert with more photos and liner notes and the poster of the 25 hour long happening that this record was made in conjunction with! limited to 250 copies." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: CASSIS CORNUTA Title: Mag Ik Eens Even In Uw Broek Pissen? Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
| "Since 69 years Ive been begging Daniel De Wereldvermaarde Botanicus, aka Cassis Cornuta, if I could please start a second record label which only releases recordings from his archive. This Botanics modesty is an absolute exception in times of a overdose of recorded farts, since 1974 CASSIS combines musique concrète, analog synthesizer carpets, weirdo acid, noise, field recordings, tape music, free jazz etc. in a puddle of madness spiced with odd staring, dozens of plants (cacti to be more specific), a encyclopedic knowledge about soundart, and a insane collection of hats! Besides that Daniel does a weekly radioshow on Radio Centraal in Antwerp since 25 years, mainly playing a combination of recycled music, home recordings and a hell lot of noise! This LP is playable on more than 4 different ways, depending on how many extra holes Daniel drilled in each record by hand! Some records contain 3 extra holes, some around 20. None of the LPs have just one hole, that would be selfish. Another beautiful collection of loner synth sound that makes your hangovers or LSD trips worth going for, the strangest beat oriented 303 and 808 acid snoop, and a combination of piss, wind and wood to bring back the good old plunderblur of The New Blockaders. This LP comes in a collaged cover design made with pictures from Daniels archive, with an insert and an extra photo. Limited to 300 copies!" - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: COLOMBO, BOBBY Title: Forever Format: 7" Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $8.50 |
|
"My favorite release to date!!! Symphonic classical synth poop music at its best, very cynical sounding parody on a parody.. very hard to explain actually.. lets say it sounds like old BBC radio jingles, empty ballroom new years partys with your grandma as the only drunk dancing queen! BOBBY COLOMBO lives in antwerp/belgium makes analog synth music, tape music, radio plays for RADIO CENTRAAL, music for theater plays and soundtracks for films (nicole van goethems films for example). he is an extreme perfectionist and a dedicated sarcastic born leader who hates the music industry in all its gross forms, he is not a part of an underground music scene at all and only listens to david bowie, kraftwerk and the beatles, still he succeeds in making the strangest industrial music, the weirdest tape stuff (reminding very much of early nurse with wound as well!) and the funniest synth music (like this 7"). also; he does this since over 25 years. he is also known as BOB of BOB AND LOU. very "honest" stuff that comes in an even more honest gross cover design..." -Ultra Eczema.

Artist: COOMANS, LEO Title: Basement Recordings 1978-1982 Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
|
"A while ago one of the members of the youngest Antwerp-based free jazz band Sheldon Siegel (all 16 year olds) visited me, I had just met them and he wanted to come by to get some records. We spoke about free jazz for a while, then he said the magical words my dad used to play free jazz in the 70s as well.. I was like ow, and if that was in Antwerp, was it with WIM?, he said yes yes, hes on one of their tapes with fred van hove, ivo van der borght etc. My heartbeat went a little faster, WIM only made one tape as far as I know, which is the weirdest thing they ever did, a bunch of the free dudes from those days playing as a brassband!! It seriously sounds disturbing. I pull out the tape, open it and asked is your dad Leo Coomans?, he starts shivering and his eyeballs turned backwards, I called an ambulance, they pick him up and tell me I can not talk to this guy for a while as he is heavily epileptic! The doctor kept asking me what the hell did you do to the him, I said I just showed him this tape. Although I wasnt allowed to join him I sneaked into the hospital and woke him up, yelling SO IS THIS YOUR DAAAAD OR WHAT? He said, yes and he doesnt even have that tape, so I dubbed it for him and asked if he had some other solo recordings from those days? Leo Coomans then compiled a bunch of unheard and beautiful basement recordings, collecting the period he mainly played in the Antwerp jazz and artist bars! When putting it on I expected some decent free music, relating to the other freaks from Antwerp from those days, my mouth fell open though that this rather modest man made seriously strange outsider weirdness instead of free jazz from hell. Kicking off with Aerosol, duo undertone singing to a aerosol machine he had to use for his asthma! Watermuziek, playing with a bunch of tubes, saxophones, mouthpieces and his own voice in a bath tub half filled with water! Untitled droning harmonica pieces which clearly shows his link with raga folks like wannes van de velde and such! Vacuum cleaner attached to metals and soprano saxes!! A wacko piano and vacuumcleaner cover version of Louie Louie... I hate to say it, but this realy is a treasure! The cover design is 2 live shots, one of which he uses the aerosol machine. It also comes with an insert with more photos!" - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: CORSANO, CHRIS Title: Another Dull Dawn Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
|
"When Chris Corsano turned 6 years old, I already begged him on my wounded knees to record an LP for ultra eczema. He played it cool, was clearly annoyed but remained polite. From then on (he is now 46) I would email him the same question daily. I slept in a tent in front of his house, sent him letters every week, had all his different cell phone numbers, I even gave him new clothes, though he kept wearing his fully blue outfit. Much like Michael Jackson, Corsano, the last drummer on earth, always remained calm and polite and made this full on incredible LP of absolute madness played on different drum sets, toy percussion, baritone sax mouthpiece on a 2 foot metal pipe, violin strings, banjo and violin bridges, contact mics, effect pedals, claw bell, metal strips from windshield wipers, toy comb, clarinet, toy gamelan, guitar cable, gongs, metals, triangle, nylon guitar strings, amps, melodica, pot lids etc. In every collab he played in (with Bill Nace, Thurston Moore, Spencer Yeh, John Olson, Eric Thielemans, Bjork, Byron Colley, Blood Stereo, Paul Flaherty, Greg Kelley, Idea Fire Company, etc..) he always changes things and never sounds the same. CC, together with all mentioned collaborators above, changed and refreshed improvised music forever, blew the free into free music again, threw an energy Molotov cocktail over Western Massachusetts, and has a non-academic and unlimited interest in sounds far behind any traditional free music school! This LP is a collection of most of his different techniques that blew you away when you saw him play live. Comes in a hairy black and white cover by Dennis Tyfus, with an insert. Limited to 400 copies." - Ultra Eczema.

"its not a church anymore, its an ex church, its used now for cultural purpose, not for praying and religious madness anymore", those are the exact words some random anxious pedestrian yelled at chris corsano and paul flaherty, trying to stop them from putting the st john renaissance theater in louisville, kentucky on fire, paul flaherty used his long grey beard to start the fire and blew as high as he could with a rusted tenor and alto saxophone, the flames went high, but not high enough for chris corsano aka the last drummer on earth! chris throws oil and lighter fluid on there to spice the barbeque a bit!!!
this is a beautyful live recording by these two amazing free jazz musicians from massachussets/usa, realy different from their other ones, as it is indeed recorded in an ex-church, it has a thick/full natural reverb on it which gets fully adopted in their music!!!
this record is packed in a black on gold drawing by dennis tyfus.

|
"i was blown away when i got acces to the extremely big archive of this belgian analog synth king, a ton of reel tapes were left behind, a bunch of them not mentioning any information, a bunch of them mentioning a vague date.
EDMOND DE DEYSTER was a rather shy nihilist, who didnt even tell his own family he was making music untill the late eighties. he never released anything because he thought noone was intrested in his psychadelic synth sounds. he would describe his own music as unlistenable, annoying and a waste of time. sadly he died in 1999 of a drug overdose, the last 6 years of his life he didnt record any music anymore.
this is a first selection of his archive, taken from 2 reel tapes mentioning 1975, no other info, i hope its the earliest recordings he did, but i am not sure, as its possible that the reels that dont mention anything were recorded at an earlier state..
his early stuff is comparable to the more symphonic sounding synthesizer waves and tones of for example CONRAD SCHNITZLER! beautyful dark synth explosives, blurry and squirky layered sounds, i wish this was realy an endless record!

"this is the second in a series of EDMOND DE DEYSTER (who sadly died in 99) archival lps.
EDMOND DE DEYSTER left an incredible amount of reel tapes behind full of beautiful analog synthesizer music. his family was kind enough to share this archive with us. it took me way longer to get this second instalment together, partly because i wanted to interview his relatives and other people who knew him during the years these tapes were made. frankly time flies by too quick and i decided to first release this second lp and do the interview for the third release in this series.
this second lp got selected from 2 reel tapes that were in the same box as the ones from the first lp. one of them mentions the same info as those first ones, "1975", the fourth tape didnt mention any information.
im not entirely sure if these recordings were made in the same period, though they sound more like the previous stuff then like the upcoming releases; incredibly sad and lonely synth tunes!
comes in a duo coloured cover with photos of edmond de deyster and a insert with liner notes and another picture. limited to 500 copies." - Ultra Eczema

| "this is a collection of rare and unreleased tracks by these crazed heavy industrialised weirdos from sweden! all recorded between 1986 and 1988. originally formed in 85 by kai parviainen and mats lundberg (who later got replaced by landgang) ENEMA SYRINGE played heavy monotone simple noise industrial the way it should be done; straight forward, loud, heavy and simple!! brutal toy synths and repetitive beats dominate the whole recorded archive and the few live sets this duo did, spiced with horrific sounding lyrics in swedish (usually about funnier things then the usual industrial fan would hope for like farts, massage shops, etc..) all of the tracks on this lp are recorded without any mixing possibilty straight onto two channels with a marrantz amp and a tape deck, prophet one, casio RZ1 drummachine, casio toy synth, an old rhythm box and vocals thu headphones and a crappy mike! these beats are the best fist in the airpumpers ever, reminding of early throbbing gristle, club moral or more recent wolf eyes and meerk puffy! the lp comes with liner notes by kai parviainen, a discography, and is completely remastered. artwork by dennis tyfus limited to 400 copies"- Ultra Eczema. |

"the most spastic band of this very moment on this gross planet is definatly the north-or east (whatever) hampton based no wave fartband FAT WORM OF ERROR, someone is fingerfucking a drumkit while a guitar gets raped by a pink elephant, the synth dances to fucked up tape rewinds, the bassplayer rolls on the floor in his own neon yellow poopoo and the singers throat gets squizzed non stop by a huge bouncer dressed in self made residents styled eye ball costumes.
these druids change costumes with every song on their scary live shows while 567 different sounds pop out of 456 instruments, they have moustages that are bigger then anyones hairsausage in the antwerpse snorrenclub, and play actually very tight songs! it doesnt sound like they are just nuts, i mean they are nuts, but they also make "tight noise", they stop and start at the same time, like ARAB ON RADAR meets THE RESIDENTS meets DEVO meets BRIAN RURYK meets STEVEN STAPLETON meets LIGHTNING BOLT meets etc.. and at the same time sounding like none of these..
some of these people played in DEERHOOF and CAROLINER and some of these still do a million different side projects such as the great YEAY records label, BROMP TREB (a harch noise hip hop outfit) etc.. FAT WORM OF ERROR will also have a full lp out on providence based black metal label LOAD RECORDS!!
this 7" comes in an oversized cutout stencilprinted cover design by dennis tyfus." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: GIFFONI & HIVE MIND, CARLOS Title: Claustrophobic Wreck Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
| "Although its better than prison, it still isnt easy to live with two guys wearing an ankle bracelet, in the smallest possible wooden cabin somewhere in between New York and Detroit. Theres no food anymore, tab water is not drinkable, and eating each others intestines seems to be the last enjoyable possibility. The thick dense sound of synth throbbing bubbles up from these hungry bowels. 2 synths fighting their ways to better times, though right now everything looks pretty dark, gnarly and industrial, classic heavy synth waves, rhythmic madness and electronic sadness. Comes in a collage sleeve by DT, limited to 300 copies." - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: GLANDS OF EXTERNAL SECRETION Title: Meat Receiving Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
|
"Bang on the doors for a few hours, no one will open up at the Banana Fish office! For many people Banana Fish was a bible, and the pre interweb source to find out about manic street searchers such as Prick Decay, Emil Beauliau, Neil Hamburger, etc... There is absolutely no magazine that ever replaced BF and same goes for their equally amazing own vague band Glands Of External Secretion, seems like anything can be thrown in at any given moment, collage music at its very best, heavy tape machines, too heavy to carry to a gig for sure as they refuse playing live, deep carrots stuck in the BUFMS scene, a maze of pseudonyms to cover any road leading to clear water. Let us stay in a pool of mud and try to find out whats up here, its been a while since Glands did something and this LP is the very hammer to knock yourself out with after a long search for better auditive drugs! Comes in a recycled cover collaged cover design, by Dennis Tyfus, silkscreened by Jelle Crama, and includes an insert. Limited to 300 copies." - Ultra Eczema.

amazing layered synth madness!! using a mountain of instruments i never heard of these 2 long compositions give you the worst melancholic sunday afternoon feeling, "the party is over", all youre left with is a horrific hangover that will never leave you, thinking of the carnaval the night before this is another miserable day indeed, youll have to wear the hottest costume again, your head is made of wood and nothing makes sense anymore..
this is beautyful analog electronic composer/concrète madness with an old piano trumpet sauce, everytime youll find new sounds!!!
also, be sure to find them live somewhere, the only band that can actually play music while wearing huge wooden houses on their heads..

Artist: HAIR POLICE Title: Blind Kingdom Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $26.50 |
| "Odd colored carpet of bizarre 3D fields dominate the bright and lurid psychedelic forests youll have to run thru to grab a mug a brew at the end of the trip! Hop on the back of a giant pink elephant and let go, eventually follow his tiny dick-like tail if u are too small to climb up this pink turt in space! But do give it a try and check out whats left? Thats right: nothing! Just a puddle of restless throbbing poop in different colours. The elephant turns out to be a puddle as well and the sounds youre hearing are all on the most psychedelic Hair Police LP so far! This is definitely way different then any of their other recordings, way more high bliss, blown out delayed voice and hardly any harshness. Originally recorded as a Hair Police radio special for Radio Centraal in Antwerp! Thick black and neon blue eye destructive cover design and a psychic laser etch on the B-side of this 180 grams wax!" -Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: HAIR STYLISTICS Title: Hustler Power Electronics Convention Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $27.00 |
| "you must live in tokyo to be able to follow the immense output of the soundburrier that is MASAYA NAKAHARA, aka VIOLENT ONSEN GEISHA, most of his work doesnt make it out of Satou Dans Tatsunoya bar in Shinjuku, not because noone wants it, just because the tokyo noise scene seems to gather there late at night to forefil their pork anus - chicken paw needs, and NAKAHARAs last 40 cdrs were the ideal soundtracks for this ritual. the old skool dead pan electronics, plunderphonics, parodies, noise blasts and synth madness that VIOLENT ONSEN GEISHA or HAIR STYLISTICS released, have always been accompanied by titles and artwork that made you doubt if it was even necessary to listen or look at anything else, much like the lafms box on rrr now that i think of it. bullshit of course, like every record announcement! When i visited Tokyo in January i accidentally met Nakahara in a recordstore, we mainly communicated in sign language but he did remember that i asked him to do a record some years before, he sign languaged that he was bad with sending stuff in the mail and asked how many days i would stay in Tokyo, i made the rather simple hand gesture of putting 3 fingers in the air, which he replied to with the words "A side tommorow". As accidentally, i bump into him again the next day carrying around the A side in his pocket, all made on that day with a heavy flu, which is hearable on the lp, a stripped down heavy dim sum of collaged tapes, mini electronics, coughs, sneezes, and ants! his big synths etc were all locked up somewhere. "B SIDE ON MONDAY", which was the day i left, the legend goes that Tokyo airport had to call my name on the speakers as Nakahara brought the master to the airport, seriously a minute before my plane left to belgium again that monday. the cover design and insert was a trio work of Nakahara Masaya, Tomoo Gokita and Dennis Tyfus. this record is limited to 300 copies." -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: IDEA FIRE COMPANY Title: Beauty School Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
|
"During my last visit to the states, about 2 years ago, one of the highlights was definitely a night long visit to Scott Fousts house! John Shaw took us there and explained from before what it was gonna be like; we would be seated down in a comfortable couch while the last great man would stand up next to a pedestal with some quality whiskey, dope and cigarettes on it, sporting a mono-coloured suit and sunglasses (day and night) while Foust is telling stories about different art records, and mainly his own work, ranging from short films, visual work and audio since 1978! It was exactly how Shaw explained it. I was blown away by the honesty and the effort him and his ladyfriend Karla Borecki put into their work, and how little response they get to it. We shared a common interest in arrogant pop quality, and especially the situationists, to which he relates his work to in only aesthetic way! I think it is a quality in people when you cant divide their work with their persona; Idea Fire Company is a collective of people that definitely swing that robe! Beautiful carpets of radio bleebs and static, piano (Karla Borecki is a trained pianist) and almost kraut-like synth ambience. Comes in a mono coloured sleeve full of dots by Dennis Tyfus, and comes with an insert. Limited to 300 copies." - Ultra Eczema

"two of the most intense young "free" dudes from different parts of the globe (kelley from boston, neilson from leeds) unite for this completely weird record, taking free music to a different level, recorded on top of eachother via mail. this sounds like moving the heaviest metal closet on a little rubber boat from brighton to the east coast of the united states, kicking off with a heavy free jazzy tune full of retarded trumpets stuffed with little babies screaming for a change slightly changing into ice cold acoustic metal scraping ambience. tons of different sounds to discover and very unclear whether they came out of a trumpet, a drumset, a mouth or a whale.

"Another amazing Japanese weirdo band with members of the great old punks of Aburadako and the free birds of Hasegawa Shizuo, higher hair then Benny B or the Fresh Prince Of Bell Air, a mental Harry Pussy-like guitar style, dead pan free drumming and a voice that could be recorded somewhere else or under a public shower! A lot of energy crammed on one record, anyway, too much to dream of. They refer to themselves as: Kito-Mizukumi Rouber is formed at Tokyo. We are dance bands. Your ankle is be cramped with a rhythm! | "Please translate all the titles and our names in Flemmish, Kommissar Hjuler asked me for this record. This record continues the German couples satirical approach to Fluxus, Dada, outsider art, whatever u wanna call it. Kommissar Hjuler is a police officer from a small village in Germany, Flensburg, where he lives and works with his younger wife, Mama Bär and their kids. Mama Bär is a full time painter. The Kommissar only started making music when he was already in his thirtees, heavily influenced by the strange music he had been collecting since the age of 16. Artist: KUBIN, FELIX Title: Idiotenmusik Format: 7" Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $8.50 |
|
"German FELIX KUBIN was a wonder child making analog synth punk when he was 9 or 10 years old, making beautyful electro acoustic music with KLANGKRIEG in 87, doing several radioplays and music for films, theater and exhibtions etc.. this new 7" has three extremely spastic retarded gogo dance yell songs on it, definatly his strangest work to date, and very different from his recent more "dancy" records such as his banana dance record MATKI WANDALKI (a musik). smelling like a 50s gogo devo like brassband on analog synthesizers and a hairy drumset! it comes in a full colour off set printed cover design by dennis tyfus full of unhappy returtled apples and pears, and a portrait of felix as a dripping pear. for fans of BRUCE HAACK, FRIEDER BUTZMANN, and even MELT BANANA or DEVO." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: MAGISCH THEATER PRODUCTIONS Title: s/t Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $26.00 |
| "since the beginning of the 80s Sandy Nys has been involved in a million of industrial, ritual ambient, noise, wave etc solo or group projects, his main thing since some decades remains HYBRYDS, though he is one of the Belgian hometaping pioneers, alongside ClubMoral and Alain Neffe of "Insane Music". long before Hybryds, Sandy was, like every decent human being, fucking around at home with tape loops, tandy microphones, acoustics and metals, korg ms 10 synth and korg sequencers, a ton of marantz and sanyo cassette decks! which resulted in a bunch of amazing obscure cassette releases! This lp collects 2 selections from 2 Magisch Theater cassettes from 1983, the A side is a selection from a untitled cassette and the flip has a soundtrack made for a painting exhibtion by Peter Braet. the cover photo was taken by Eric Didden for a fanzine called MAD IN BELGIUM and the back photo was taken for a news paper article on hometaping, all from Sandys archive. this record comes with 2 inserts of the original cassette sleeves, a magazine, and is limited to 250 copies only!" - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: MENSTRUATION SISTERS Title: Should Sisters Suck? Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $31.00 |
| "A rabbi who yells at a higher pitch and more psycho than NIK RIZILI, and a guitarist other than OREN AMBARCHI who can make strings yell in Yiddish yelling-about as rare as, according to Ultra Eczema, "ladies [who] have their period nonstop, since five years [and] are 456 km away from the hospital while the head of a baby is forcing its way out of a mangina." So much stress, guitar strings so loose you can put your legs and arms between them, a hyperactive and creepy and slow carnival of absolute madness. Reminiscent to the more sparse parts of Harry Pussy, the screaming of Hanatarashi. 300 copies, with an insert, a small poster, a sticker, an etching on the B-side, and found footage cover art by DENIS TYFUS." - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: MIAUX Title: 22h44 Format: 7" Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $13.00 |
| "warm thick tears force their ways out of droopy eyes, children cover their ears and peppep is rubbing his underbelly with sandpaper. the general gloom MIAUX spreads on her sandwiches is darker than tatort and could easily replace any soundtrack of a fassbinder movie, the sad joy of a lady from sarajevo pushing her entire hands into a keyboard, dont ask her for a encore or youll receive a grim reward! it seems that a new breath of electronic music is blowing over antwerp, all in a sort of kubin/depressed pop/late wave/instrumental suicide kind of style (check mittland och leo, the eye, roman hiele, dsr lines etc), who knows where the hell it came from, orphan fairytales early antics, cassis and colombo, radio centraal, meeuw muzak? it of course matters as much as what i ate this morning, one banana, which is exceptional, as i usually dont eat fruit. comes in a orange stencil printed cover design by dennis tearfus, your hands will be orange after holding it, limited to 150 copies. no reissues" -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: MICH, LUDO Title: Music From Films Ludo Mich Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $26.00 |
|
"ludo mich is belgiums most hyper active fluxus artist, performer, painter,
filmmaker and visitor of the eleventh dimension, though he is best known
for his sixties and seventies trash films such as LYSISTRATA (loosely based
on a play by greek poet aristophanes, starring; the half of antwerps 60s
scum scene in the nude), SATURNUS (black and white trash drama about life on
saturnus filmed with a self made fish eye lens) and DEUS EX MACHINA
(hyperneurotic b&w scratch close up).
this lp collects LUDO MICHs self made soundtracks for SATURNUS - the film
(made in 1971, fucked up soundsculptures, heavy tape machines, non stop sax
outbursts, and african poetry), SATURNUS - the performance (filmed at the
LUDO MICH festival 1971 at gallery "de zwarte panter", the soundtrack for
this film is a heavy psychedelic pre punk scream and shout blubber) and DEUS
EX MACHINA (this soundtrack was recorded in 1966 using tape machine,
elastics and voice only, and was originally used for ludo michs doctor
jekyll and mister hyde performance).
three great time documents recorded in 1966 and 1971, bizarre psychedelic
yelling, tape delay machines, free jazz saxophones, glass, etc.. some
parts of this record sound like heavy guitar improv or minimal voice farts,
fact is that i cant think of other music from that time FROM ANTWERP that
sounds as bizarre and outrageous as this..
limited to 300 copies, the cover designs are 2 blown up film stills from
SATURNUS." - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: NOISE NOMADS Title: Noise Nomads Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
| "The first time Ive met Jeff Hartford aka Moose Jaw aka Noise Nomads was around 4 years ago in Providence, a tense looking bear putting a mic in front of a amp, leaving the audience alone with a whale of feedback, pretty pretty pretty confused!! He walks out after kranking open the amp, a minute later a giant REAL Christmas tree walks thru the audience trying to find the way back to the amp, kicking people over, I guess this show was right after Christmas time and Jeff fount it somewhere or he stared at a young kid that was about to decorate it.. I was very impressed by his show, both sound and performance wise, there was a seriously intense vibe there, felt like he could snap at any given moment and squeeze you to death with a Christmas tree.. Noise Nomads live sets are always strange, confusing and amazing, an amp iiiiiiiiiiiiiii-ing while the man goes running around the block, a mountain of amps that start talking after he picked a fight with them, a sludgier drummer does not exist. It was definitely not the last time the man amazed me, his duo set with PAUL FLAHERTY (which is released on American tapes), the loner car rides I shared with him to his area in the valleys of Northampton, his amazing monthly zines and tapes, his drumming with Grey Skull, his drawings etc.. Its a total psycho package; everything is there; visuals, sounds and a great dude! The first side of this record was recorded a bunch of years ago and is just voice and Tascam! A amazing swollen beast of sound poetry, gargling waanzin, and muffled barking! The b side is the same dude a few years later on his knees in my living room screaming thru a bass drum and a contact mic attached to a bunch of pedals, harsher than a prison full of parrots to be released! There should be more paintings like Kim Gordons Noise Nomads!!! Limited to 300 copies." - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: ORPHAN FAIRYTALE Title: Ladybird Labyrinth Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
|
"Orphan Fairytale is the solo moniker of Eva Van Deuren, member of the lady folk troupe Maskesmachine, who started blowing my mind 12 years ago as a street performance troupe in Antwerp. Besides my own ladyfriend, I dont think I know anyone better than Eva, and her boyfriend (Audiobot madman) Carlo Steegen. For some reason this makes it even more difficult to write a decent description for this record; we live in the same mansion, and I could write a lot of stories about doing the dishes together, or putting the garbage out. Orphan Fairytale is a dedication to Evas mom, who died when Eva was 14 years old. A melancholic soundtrack to the loss, and a way of dealing with it! A maze of ever-changing Casio trips dripping with childish ecstasy, a belly dancer oozing for endless adolescence playing with burned dolls in a Barbie house filled with pedals and looptapes! Melanchotronic folk reminiscent to some Moondog, the contemporary Finnish crew, Delia Derbyshire, and Asian pop. This LP comes in a full color collaged cover design by Dennis Tyfus with 2 inserts. Limited to 400 copies." - Ultra Eczema

Artist: PAMI, REIJO Title: Dreaming Of Being A Tampon Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "only very few people on this planet can get away with what reijo pami usually does, luckily! minimalism has been taken far too serious, though pami single handed succeeds to change the tooth of time by stretching his arms and demanding a bunch of plastic horses to icebear on contact miced wooden tables all over the planet, resulting in revolutionairy simple sound barks! finland is played by reijo pami, the result of left wing parents and children of the revolution refreshing his loud mind. for maximum confusion on most levels, no treatments, no overdubs, no instruments, no money... cheap tapes, open window, some walking. if your body is an elastic you might wanne use it that way too, the muscles of this finnished headbanger are hearable on this lp, bricks are made ON this record, or do you wanne watch tv on this lp, its all possible! chocolate monk and lal lal lal were pioneers in publishing his music earlier, and i am sure this will be the spring hit of 2011! hand spray painted and stuck on cover design, all covers are a little different. limited to 200 copies, no reissues" -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: PEWTR TRUST/PUMICE Title: Split Radio Session Format: CDR Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $13.50 |
|
"pewtr trust is the new north east american band (started on last years european tour) of the great psychadelic lonefolktripper JOSHUA BURKETT and his friend RON SCHNEIDERMANN of the even more psychadelic jamhippytroupe SUNBURNED HANDS OF THE MAN.
their part of the cdr is super sensitive "scared to breath" lonely beautyful instrumental folk, played on banjo and acoustic guitar, when recording this radiosession i was seriously scared to scratch my arm or touch my ear, it sounds like anything but the instruments could ruin it, very shy and honest beauty. very warm and dreamy sounding but grimm, psychadelic and modest at the same time.
PUMICE is another great new zealandish lonely traveller with a very distinctive own style of finger picking acoustic guitar with self made effects on it, at times sounding very filmish and "old", like a 30s texas based hillbilly drunk but without the rawness of it, more like an old clock with a 14 year old locked in there playing the soundtrack for his first demons.
both PEWTR TRUST and PUMICE were recorded at radio centraal in antwerp, when these acts passed by seperatly on their european tours. the cdr comes in a psychadelic colourful artwork by dennischhhh tyfumes. only 150 copies made!" - Ultra Eczema.

Artist: PREGGY PEGGY AND THE LAZY BABYMAKERS Title: Get An Ace Case Of The Measles Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
| "While my face drips with pus, yellow soup, manjuice and morning yoghurt, I finally got an injection against measles, which I also suffered from until I found out about Preggy Peggy And The Lazy Babymakers (both thru a CD-R on the great Chocolate Monk and on Preggys own Being Weird Isnt Enough Records!), I thought they deserved it more then I did. As a price I could release their record inspired by the subject matter. Which became a beautiful audiobook like a madmans guide to alienville! The medicine these chaps have to use makes em sing in different colours and add styles to each other that never heard of each others existence. Preggy Peggy And The Lazy Babymakers basically got started because of Angela Sawyers (Boston-based psycho record collector and owner of the great Weirdo Records store!) compulsive need to overdub a mountain of voices over a mountain of strange instruments played by JA, the other Preggy who apparently lives on one of New Englands gray shabby beaches with a couple of miniature fluffy dogs! They never play live, it is probably pretty impossible to do live anyway, and style wars it sort of comes near Sun City Girls jams with Francois Dufrene, remixed by a Texas hill billy. Both members were in a mountain of bands no one ever heard of, such as; Pig Sex, The Pie Plate Band, The Cool Breeze, Jet Jaguar Backing Band, Phenomenological Boys, Stick a Fork In It, Laser Laser Laser Laser, The White People, Cough Syrup, The Saliva Sisters, Giacinto Scelsi Tribute Band, White Cocaine, My Sons Coloring Book, The Whoop Whoop Girls, Jimmy & the Waffles, N. Soseki/T. Hatsuro, The Kantian Project, Instant Distance Mental Powers, The Whistle Band, Byron, Jimmy & Gerard, Les Garcons Sur La Plage, Life Partners, The A Minor Project, Moshi Moshi I Am the Decider, Goils Goils & Fripped, Swastika Niggers, Sun Shine Sanitarium, The Cloud Club, Scarcity of Tanks, The Depressed Horns, Fleetwood Sac & the Sex-Havers, Human Hairs, Grizzler Big Band, Exusamwa, Duck That, etc. Comes in a collaged cover with a new born baby on it and prince charles and an insert." - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: SMITS, GEORGE TOET Title: Isomopolis. ICC Format: One-Sided LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $27.00 |
| "For a while i thought i was completely lost in the maze that is the recorded archive of George "TOET" Smits, a few years back i got boxes full of cassettes that i have been sitting thru for a few years, a bunch unlabeled, and a lot of recordings from his ZBOLK NIGHT RADIO George Toet Smits started out playing mouth organ and guitar in Ferre Grignards band in the 1960s, he was also a vibrant part of the Ercola collective in Antwerp, where he co-published "Spruit", a comic/fanzine or "mannekesblad" full of psychedelic insanity, has always been connected to Radio Centraal where he did the incredible "zbolk night radio" , a show weekly remixing his own music, both electronic and recordings of his sound sculptures. he silkscreened under the "mafprint" moniker, was losely connected to the "vacuum" artist space, played in the "Cash? Cash!" film by Paul Collet and started building his own string/isomo instruments after finding a surfboard on a beach.. this one sider is a recording of the long string instalations he build for his first exhibtion at ICC in antwerp, it is a archival recording from 1981. metals, strings, feathers and springs amplified by isomo creating a weird psychedelic ball of confusion. this edition includes an insert with photos from the mans archive, a silkscreen on the b side and a interview that patrick vandenberghe did in early spring 1997, a few months before the illness was diagnosed that sadly took his life. limited to only 200 copies!" - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: SPACE CACTUS Title: 2001: A Space Cactus Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $37.00 |
|
"a puddle of gross sound poetry, ran thru some mentally ill reel tape machines more then once, then re worked again and again and again and again", is how you could describe the first SPACE_CACTUS lp in their 20 years existence! when i sent the master of this recording to the pressing plant, the people there asked "is it possible u sent us the wrong audio file, we can only here a voice soundcheck".
SPACE_CACTUS on this record is the infamous BOBBY COLOMBO (who, you could say, is the overall co-ordinator of space_cactus in general) together with cacti and hat collector, instrument inventor, and happy space maker CASSIS CORNUTA. though for every project SPACE_CACTUS has different line ups.
this lp is different then their usual massive analog synth set up, only voices, prepared voice and reel tape machines are used for this recording.
over the past 20 years they have rarely played live, only choose specific occasions for live shows, such as the "30 seconds of spacecactus" at factor 44, or soundworks for exhibtions. they have mainly focused on recording radioplays, jingles, film soundtracks, etc., one could sort of compare space_cactus with the bbc workshop, though S_C is more raw, satirical and brutal!
this lp is limited to 150 copies (8 copies luxery edition, the rest numbered and stamped to 142 copies) and comes in a fold open double sided silkscreened coverdesign by dennis tyfus." - Ultra Eczema

Artist: STEEN, JOS Title: Music for Tape and Turntable Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "Jos Steen is a remarkable outsider in the purest possible sense of the word. Telling stories about the dude always sounds like theyre untrue or seriously exaggerated, the way he lives sounds like a fairytale and the way he acts would resemble the heaviest mix of Bukowski and Bobby Colombo. Jos lives in a tiny house underneath a radio tower of the national TV and radio station VRT, where he works as an audio librarian. The house is built on the highest point of the area in a forest. You can see it from miles and miles away. Its tiny but can be called a museum! It is full of homemade instruments and broken pianos, amazing wooden stringed instruments made of garbage and all kinds of foreign instruments no one remembers the name of. Since around 1964 Jos has been making poems, stories, paintings, collages, drawings and music/sound to kill the demons in his head or jam along to their forceful blues. Some call him the Belgian Beefheart and the people that already forgot about Beefheart talk about a local little Howlin Wolf. Jos always made self-released zines, tapes and more recently, mountains of CD-Rs of homemade blues, broken bottle experiments and heavy free music folk. This LP is a selection of tracks of a recent CD-R of tape and record player experiments spiced with vacuum cleaners, rotting voices, undefinable strings, pianos, etc. Its absolutely unthinkable his work could be potentially lost in time and space, for fucks sake, the dude is a genius! In the past, Jos played with free jazz greats like Peter Jacquemin, André Goudbeek, Yvo van der Borght, with poetry psychos like Roland Topor and Freddy de Vree, and with Zappas own Jimmy Carl Black who begged on his bare knees to play with Jos ... well maybe thats exaggerated as well. This LP comes in a gold and white cover by Dennis Tyfus and an offset printed insert!" -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: THIELEMANS, ERIC Title: A Snare Is A Bell Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "This is the first in a series of solo percussion LPs on Ultra Eczema titled STS. A meditative psychedelic experience is what I would like to call this, though I realize I make it sound like a silly zen blowout, and thats not what it feels like at all! When I first saw it live in a giant church in Mechelen, Belgium, I was yelling this is the best show of the year. I thought there wouldnt be an end to it and didnt even feel a build-up to a more tense sound or a drone. There was a difference in resonating sound and it definitely changed, but as with more constructive minimalists such as Steve Reich or maybe even Terry Riley, you cant tell when things change. That experience got enlarged as well by the scenography he played in, a splendid eye-torturing construction, built especially for this piece by Antwerp-based sculptor Filip Metten. On record it feels different of course, as you can skip the needle up and down to the end and back, you can hear an enormous tension and sound difference. Though this piece is written for only a snare drum and a tiny bit of vocals (resonating with the snare drum) it sounds like either 20 people on a snaredrum, like if Glen Branca would invite 567 people playing the exact same snare roll, or like a choir, and by the end definitely like the sound of a Whitehouse LP; building up strongly to the point of absolute silence, which feels like a relief! This piece is based on a snare roll which changes 3 times. Live, this piece can go up to an hour or longer, on this record, it is one full side. The B-side is a psychedelic etch! Eric Thielemans is based in Antwerp, Belgium and has made percussive pieces for theatre, has played psychedelic guitar music with Mauro Pawlowski, spaced free music with Sickboy and Cassisini Division and a ton load of great free jazz with Andre Goudbeek and Peter Jacquemyn. This record is limited to 500 copies, has an insert and comes in a duo colored psychic design by Dennis Tyfus." -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: TUYMANS, LUC & MIROSLAVE BALKA Title: Crazy Horses Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $31.00 |
|
"This is a tape recording done on September 24, 1998 on the day of the exhibition "privacy" at Fundacao de Serralves in Porto, by Belgiums biggest contemporary painter LUC TUYMANS and Polands giant brutal sculpturist MIROSLAV BALKA. This recording took place in the building and garden of Fundacao de Serralves and Porto Palacio Hotel. The basic idea was to record the sound of running horses for a collaborative public sound sculpture by both artists, however during the process other sounds (such as drunk Venezualan singing, "vacuumcleaning," rambling, and discussions about Maurizio Catalan and the snake of jungle book who by the way "has a very stupid expression on his face") landed on the tape which changed the running horses into crazy horses. This record is released for the "involved" exhibtion in Shanghai, curated by Phillippe Pirotte. Limited to 500 copies, B-side features an etching by Tuymans and Balka." -Ultra Eczema

| "This LP collects a selection of phone calls made daily between May 5th and July 29th, 2007 as part of the group exhibition Virus at the Hessenhuis in Antwerp. Most of these calls have been broadcast during the weekly Tyfustijd radio show on Radio Centraal (106.7FM). The conversations on this LP are either really embarrassing, sad or mean. The people who werent on the other side of the line thought it was funny, though. The conversations interlude with Vomgrills analog synth and scruffy voice tunes which gives it a specific radioplay sound or even borders with sound poetry. Limited to 400 copies, full color cover design by Dennis Tyfus and Kermit Apetown. Comes with liner notes and a picture of a 11 year old Tyfus calling his grandmum. All work is made or found between November 4th, when Tyfus joined the subhumans of Hair Police on a tour through Europe and December 31st. Besides a lot of drawing in the tour van, this period included a residency at Codalunga in Vittorio Veneto (which also resulted in a exhibition), a Sinterklaas performance with Benjamin Verdonck, great second hand store found imagery, a ceiling fan party, a Jacques Beloeil show, a Ludo Mich show, and the first ever baking cookies attempt. Artist: TYFUS, DENNIS / NYOUKIS, DYLAN Title: Zangstondes / The Throat Is Pregnant Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $30.00 |
| "This record is all about flipping the coin. Flipping the coin of persistence and patience. A heavy endurance test pill to swallow and right on time for chilly winter nights. Dylan Nyoukis is back on his grind. And a toothcrushing experience it is. Going back to the old school vocal perversion the Chocolate Monk president is known for. I met the bearded one at the beach in Brighton for the first time, where Dylan was sipping dirtcheap beer and gargling bits of Slayer lyrics while pointing directions to his crib. A retarded brew of high and low pitched vocal scruff, muffled sonic slime and lungs full of asbestos dust from sitting in a cave of obscurity for the past twenty years. He will sing for wine or ass candy and likes visuals that piss on the hi-brow. Total no-fi cassette trouble and underage kids chewing on dusted tapeloops, basically more science fiction that the inflatable puppets in Munchies. Then the needle stops moving and we hike to Belgium. Tyfus drools in the microphone and lets his bodily juices make contact with translation delays, empty kleenex boxes and the power that controls the earths core. Constant knob tweaking, contact micd cheese balls, endless layers of mutilated throat sounds jump across the circuitboard like mechanical ants. Theres a lot of weird information to absord here. Besides the vicious ragtime gobot action, theres a gentle more furry choir medidation zone that will trance your brain muscles over the rainbow. Highly influenced by aborignal ways of life and the medidative nature of throat singing, Homo Sapiens Tyfus spit out a true projection of his tormented soul. Apparently theres a difference between music and sounds ? Packaged in a classic fold-out silkscreen jacket in a limited edition of only 250 copies. Go hard is all they know..." - Carloo Steegen |

"although active in improvised music, sound art and mainly in re-building and modifying his self build drum set since the 70s, this is Kris Vanderstraetens first full solo lp! the bearded master of subtile madness tickles his set with anything he finds on his journey: cars, parts of a tree, shaking electronic devices, he even steals the toys of his own children to create a perfect roll! although most solo percussion records are filled to the brim with sauce, this one is percisely sliced charcuterie, no muffled sounds, all is in the open, no hidden secrets, u are in the middle of the box santa claus wanted to drop right before u robbed him. Timo Van Luijck, aka the great AF URSIN, with whom Kris plays with as a duo from time to time, recorded this masterpiece, the thick grey card board sleeve and fold open poster insert were drawn by Dennis Tyfus and silkscreened by the man with two first names Gerard Herman! its limited to only 150 copies, dont let that fruit turn into dry fruit, or worst: CANDY! worst means sausage in dutch." - Ultra Eczema.

"some creatures have too much energy, too much energy even to be caught on a picture, by the time the machine sez click floris vanhoof already ran off, cutting and glueing 56 meters of lurid 8 and 16 mm film together to create a cluster of filmloops all playing at the same time and interacting with a slimeball of thick synth/tape madness! a full time member of stoner ensemble R.O.T., though solo-soundwise very different, a full time visual artist and a full time body and synth builder/connaisseur! a lot to be full time, though stronger than the tape holding his filmloops or the elastic holding my stockings.
this records is a collage of home brew synth madness, fieldrecordings, detailed registrations of floris throwing a full drum kit 20 times of a staircase in a church, coincidences and liters of delicious tape delay spun together by a man who only eats fast food, as eating the real thing would take too much time, time that could be spent on more important things, like digging dick raaijmakers, art history, synths and long forgotten sound carriers!
finally, the first lp by one of my favorite belgians! after a bunch of self published tapes, cdrs and films it was about time!

Artist: VERCAMMEN, WOUT Title: S/T Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "Wout Vercammen (1938) is a highly influential visual artist from Antwerp, Belgium. A nonstop performer since the early 50s, described by Ludo Mich as the Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde from Antwerp. A tight dressed dandy, going bananas every night, and looking as tight and clean the morning after. He has been inspiring the Belgian underground art scene for more than fifty years. He was the youngest artist making real paintings at the end of the fifties. Abstractionism reduced to one gesture. One sweep. One movement of the sword. One twirling horizon. Pulling Hokusai into space and time, Vercammen organized and executed the very first happenings in Belgium in the early sixties. Great collages, the only real pop artist in Belgium, latex word paintings, pneumatic forms before someone else got bigger with it. Always on the move. The way Wout Vercammen acts, performs, talks and moves is perfectly captured on this LP! When living in Antwerp, chances are you witnessed a Wout Vercammen performance without even realizing it, this is possible at any given moment. Smuggling jenever into prison, painting the copper dome of the Carolus Borromeus church white, filling blue garbage bags with air, and especially howling like a wolf, primitive throat singing and using the whole bar as a percussive instrument! Wout Vercammen changes reality, and makes it a tiny bit better. This record is a collection of accidently recorded moments and a composition of a black, a yellow and a red paint bucket all shook up through a synth and a 4 track! All varying from percussive punk primitive madness comparable to Kommisar Hjuler, a strange conversation in a garden to soundpoetry, howling and screaming. I am absolutely psyched to release this, as Wout Vercammen along with Ludo Mich has always been my favorite Antwerp psycho! Reminiscent of Ludo Mich, Kommisar Hjuler, the Vienna Actionists, Hans Krüsi. The LP comes in a offset printed sleeve with pictures of the artist, an insert with more pictures and liner notes by art critic Hans Theys! Limited to 400 copies." -Ultra Eczema |

Artist: X04 Title: Lost Signals Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $28.00 |
| "The trio of Bill Nace, John Truscinski and Jake Meginsky deliver their fourth spars, spaced scratched and creeped record, after their debut CD-R on Audiobot, an amazing tape on Bills own imprint Open Mouth and an LP on Ecstatic Peace!. although this band uses only two guitars and percussion, theyve built up a paradise of tension between instruments that by far dont sound like youd think theyd sound. It does sound like someone is pulling your veins gently, softly focused on not really hurting you but having Chinese torture in the back of your brain. A no-named peasant would guess this music was made by an old dog collecting thousands of little pieces of metal, knowing exactly what they would sound like if u rub them onto another miked metal closet or a circuit-bent old wooden clock. Sensitive guitar molesting is never far away. This record comes in a collaged cover design by Dennis Tyfus, limited to 500 copies." - Ultra Eczema. |

Artist: YELLOWBEARD Title: S/T Format: LP Label: Ultra Eczema Country: Belgium Price: $29.00 |
|
"I have been begging the Massachusetts based acidfolklorist Joshua Burkett to do a record on Ultra Eczema for years. I met him through Ron of Sunburned Hand Of The Man about 5 years ago, when they did a duo radiosession at Radio Centraal, which later got released as a Pewtr Trust CD-R on UE. I was struck by Joshuas mix of shyness, amazing and heavy acoustic guitar playing and his encyclopedic knowledge of weirdo music. His music is usually so silent that it makes you all tense and walk on socks instead of wooden shoes. The Yellowbeard LP is a collection of adolescent/teenage recordings made by Joshua Burkett between 1990 and 1994, probably right before the time he joined Wayne and Kate Village in Vermonster! Some of the recordings were overdubbed in 2008. This is a beautiful collection of collaged scrambled bedroom madness, teenage wilderness, guitar noise, acidfolk, almost psych, organ fuckery, space between the tape deck and the player, outsider beauty! This LP comes with a glow in the dark sticker and an insert in a neon yellow/black fold open silkscreened cover design by Dennis Tyfus, limited to 300 copies." -Ultra Eczema

Artist: AMOLVACY Title: A La Lu La Format: LP Label: Ultramarine Country: Italy Price: $16.00 |
| "Amolvacy is Aaron Moore from Volcano the Bear, Dave Nuss from No-Neck Blues Band, and Sheila 16 of the Laboratory Theater Group, NYC. The band creates compositions from its improvisations centered around strong elemental percussion, radical theatrical vocals, and classical acoustic instruments, reminding of Holy Modal Rounders, Moondog, The Fugs. Recurring themes in Amolvacys texts are the pain of relationships, the affirmation of the feminine in myth, the heros journey, and continuous need to flame the passions of the heart. A La Lu La specifically addresses the gap of language in facilitating accurate communication, a gap that only music at its most primal can fill. The back of the album features text by Jose da Fonseca & Pedro Carolino, two Portugese who in 1855 created an English phrasebook titled English As She is Spoke, but who faced just one problem: they didnt know any English. The linguistic train wreck that ensues mirrors the play of language, sound, and unintentional humor on A La Lu La. - Ultramarine. Edition 500, die-cut sleeve. |

Artist: BENE GESSERIT Title: Still Insane After All These Years Format: LP Label: Ultramarine Country: Italy Price: $25.00 |
| "Eleven new & previously unreleased songs from BeNe GeSSeRiT, the cult Belgian minimal synth duo of Alain Neffe (various instruments including synth, beats, loops, strings…) and Nadine Bal (vocals). Alain started his Insane Music imprint back in 1981, he is a key figure of the European cassette culture and has been making some of the most creative and cross-boundary music since the early 80’s, also with other numerous projects like Pseudo Code, Human Flesh and more recently, his and Nadine’s duo with singer Anna Homler, The Chopstick Sisters. The duo’s debut LP in 1985 “A High, Happy, Perverse And Cynical Cry of Joy” was a real gem and on this new album, they go back to their roots but take advantage of newer technologies and sonic textures - every song has a life of its own. Alain’s arrangements are impeccable and unpredictable, a mad variety of instruments and moods, punchy beats, hypnotic strings, groovy organ, crazy sax lines and an inventive use of sound shaping… at some point you’ll be in the middle of… a choir of frogs??! Nadine, on the other hand, is a muse of this and the OTHER world, she manages to sound like an angel, a child, a siren and an alien, often all in the same track. Our prescription is: listen to this LP over and over for best results, you will discover and feel something new at every listen. BeNe GeSSeRiT make truly charming and personal music that’s hard to pin down: too weird to be classified as pop, but not so much to be just avantgarde, surreal & emotional, sharing the aesthetic choices of Anne Clark, Roberto Cacciapaglia, Laurie Anderson, Kraftwerk, Die Form… Glossy full color covers with insane artwork by Alain Neffe." - Ultramarine. |

Guitarist NINNI MORGIA and upright bassist JORDON SCHRANZ have drummer extraordinaire and Milford Graves student MIKE PRIDE on board for the QUIVERS improvisations; get ready for amazing timbral research and creative interplay, sometimes reminding of great historical groups like AMM, Musica Elettronica Viva and Smegma. Artist: GATE Title: Damned Revolutions Format: LP Label: Ultramarine Country: Italy Price: $25.00 |
|
"Dead C guitarist Michael Morley is finally back with a new Gate LP, after two years, and what a comeback! “Damned Revolutions” has all the traits of Gate’s classic LPs like “Guitar” and “The Monolake”: it starts with dark and fuzzy guitar drones, that build up to create a dense wall of distorted resonance, at times accompanied by sparse electronics and sustained by spectral beats and bass pulses. When vocals break in, it’s magical and poetic, his moaning reminiscent of pre-war blues chants. Side B is a wonderful suite of free rock improvisation, wild noise, echoed vocals, a thick guitar fog, haunting nocturnal blues, cymbal crashes… a mood perfectly depicted on the cover photos, lonely, grey, apparently still, sunless port city landscape. Edition of 300 copies." - Ultramarine.

"The mythical LAFMS collective Smegma really needs no introduction, where would we all be without them? How many bands were so ahead of their time (1973!), and have been for so long, like Smegma have? Well, here they are with a brand new LP of their famous mix of free jazz, industrial noise, improvisation, straight-up weird music so typical of these masters / US freaks. On the opening track, they are riding on the amazing drums of historical member Dennis Duck (of Dream Syndicate) to pay homage to their beloved Link Wray with some devilish surf music! Then get ready for some crazy reeds, Aylerian invocations, electro-acoustic meditations, (shrink) chamber music and moments of pure avantgarde, juxtapositions that only they can get away with: a riot in a farm, strange strings riding the waves, guitar riffs and slides with the seagulls, a bat party in a cave, followed by a hot bath of analog synth bubbles… but simply put, Smegma sounds like nobody else! Cover artwork collage by Ace Farren Ford. Also comes with an insert. Edition of 300 copies." - Ultramarine.

Artist: TEMPERATURES Title: Eksra Format: LP Label: Ultramarine Country: Italy Price: $14.00 |
"Temperatures are a London-based duo formed by Peter Blundell (bass, voice) and James Dunn (drums, synth). Blundells rumbling delayed bass runs against Dunns bursting drums that simultaneously trigger an unruly ARP 2600. Vocals are both muffled and shouting at times and eventually end up getting buried under a (controlled) landslide of sounds. Thanks to their instinctive but thoughtful approach to noise, Temperatures can express a suffocating sense of alienation and mal de vivre, as well as todays over-communication resulting in a helpless lack of communication; but "Eksra" strikes most for its original and refreshing sound, far from the stale cliche that noise so often falls into. They can be compared to other bands like: early Throbbing Gristle, Lighting Bolt and the Dead C." - Ultramarine.
“One of Londons most spasmodically captivating outfits” Byron Coley - Thurston Moore, Arthur Magazine. “Bass, drums, and synth as though the instruments had only just been discovered out of an archaeological dig” Ed Pinsent, The Sound Projector. |

Beyond the sounds, there is the sentiment of peacefulness, a cinematic mosaic of colors, flashing in your mind. Searching for constant illumination, you slowly float in open space. Random sequences of data wandering the sky, quick streams of light buzzing around you, lost in hypnotic corridors leading to new environments, discovering glittering gems. A fantastic trip filled with dystopian drones, analog birds, and IDM beats. Get lost in the light." -Under The Spire. |

Artist: BLEEKER, ALEX & THE FREAKS Title: s/t Format: LP Label: Underwater Peoples Country: USA Price: $14.00 |
| "Alex Bleeker & The Freaks self titled album was recorded live on June 11th, 2009. The bulk of the session took place in the basement of Julians childhood home, in Ridgewood, NJ. The group consists of Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Matt Mondanile (Real Estate, Ducktails), Martin Courtney IV (Real Estate) and Julian Lynch. Some of the songs mirror the boys collective disposition, that of a gentle and warm young man. Others however, invite the listener in for a glimpse at that same boys restless, virile soul. A sensitive type may describe it all as Raw, Live, Honest Rock and Roll with Heart. Alex Bleeker & The Freaks have been friends since High School and as healthy, red blooded American men so often choose to do, theyve channeled their romantic energies into an electrified musical powerhouse. Artist: COPELAND, ERIC Title: Limbo Format: LP Label: Underwater Peoples Country: USA Price: $15.00 |
| "Tie up your laces and listen loud. Feeling like a funked up alien comic book, Copelands newest full length, Limbo, extends his ouvre of layered, pitched, and all-out fucked sounds toward an easier place, a more familiar musical terrain. More fleshed out than his earlier work, Limbos six parts give it a capacious feel of action. Well organized and having an undeniable rhythm, the album is an excellent progression from the concepts explored within throughout his body of work. LP comes w/ giant poster! Download coupon available with LP – good for TWO downloads!" -Underwater Peoples. |

Artist: DOLPHINS INTO THE FUTURE Title: Canto Arquipelago Format: LP Label: Underwater Peoples Country: USA Price: $16.00 |
|
"There is something phenomenally enticing about a sequestered island chain, literally bounded by a vast and enveloping sea. Perhaps its the romance of discovery-the knowledge that here lies the safety of land within the great seclusion of nature. Perhaps its the raw beauty that is simply emerald speckled turquoise. LIEVEN MOANA as DOLPHINS INTO THE FUTURE dedicates his latest effort to the Azores, a remarkably beautiful volcanic archipelago that lacks very little by way of inspiration. The ambient conjurer weaves glorious tones and minimal percussion with brilliant and evocative field recording, having spent several weeks on the island cluster for this body of work. "Once an island gets born," Lieven articulates, "its a continuous struggle, a continuous dialogue, a learning, a BATTLE and cooperation of influences. The sea starts bashing on its shores. Erosion starts the complete demolition of the island. But at the same time, sun and sea give birth and food... Archipelagos have a heavy rhythm." Underwater Peoples happily invites you to discover the spiritual enchantment that is Dolphins Into The Future. Let it wash over and beneath you and may you find what you need most - whether it be solace, delight, or resolve-within Canto Arquipelago." - Underwater Peoples.

Artist: LYNCH, JULIAN Title: Droplet On A Hot Stone Format: 7"/CDR Label: Underwater Peoples Country: USA Price: $6.50 |
| "Julian Lynch is from Ridgewood, New Jersey. The songs featured on this 7 single were originally created for the 2008 album, Born2Run. The recordings contain acoustic and electric guitar, a drum kit, a keyboard and Julians voice. Everything was recorded on a TASCAM Portastudio 424. While the initial taping began in Julians family basement (birthplace of the Alex Bleeker and The Freaks debut), the brunt of the work took place in an empty apartment in Madison, Wisconsin. In a new town with no furniture, Julian recorded the album. Born2Run was originally made available as a tape by Wild Animal Kingdom Records, in 2009. Julian also produced 75 copies of the album on CD-R. Since its minimal physical debut, Born2Run has been lovingly featured on countless MP3 Blogs such as Dayvanzombear, Forlorn-Valleys, Bee Boo Bee Bop, A Cassette Cathedral and Prisms of Fame. Julians music can now be found all across the world wide web, sweet messages often dangle beneath. Julians second LP, Mare, is coming out on Olde English Spelling Bee this summer. Includes CD-R of Born2Run in its entirety. Pressed on sky blue virgin vinyl." - Underwater Peoples. |

Julian moved to Madison, WI, in Fall 2008 to begin a Masters program in Ethnomusicology. In Madison, he recorded and released three CD-Rs under his given name: Born2Run, Birthday and Garden is Adventure. In 2009 and 2010, Olde English Spelling Bee released two LPs by Julian Lynch, Orange You Glad and Mare, respectively. Julian continues to live and record in Madison, where he is currently enrolled in a joint PhD program in Ethnomusicology and Anthropology. In his own words: "The intention in thse works lies in finding a symbolic, exotic, animal to unleash a psychoactive environment expression that leads one to an elaborate meeting with the natural world. The Garent Toucan completes the trilogy by uncovering the symbolic animals transfiguration into the outerzone of infinite space. The Parrot or Toucan is thought of as a mediator between human and nature…" Underwater Peoples is thrilled to present The Garnet Toucan in a stunning gatefold package designed by Clark himself." - Underwater Peoples. |

Artist: MOUNTAIN MAN Title: Sun Dog Format: 10" Label: Underwater Peoples Country: USA Price: $15.00 |
| "Imagine your heart being clenched by a wide palm. While the fingers wrap and the fist tightens, your lungs get confused and fill your gut with air. Your chest is arched and warm yet your fingertips are cold and your legs are asleep. The mind you once populated with nonsense has mutinied and is now focusing her entire effort on heightening your senses. At this point, a quick spurt of air escapes your gaping smile, to an onlooker it could be mistaken for laughter, or a cough, but in reality you are less capable, more vulnerable than youve been in some time. That puff of air was a white surrender flag, you have been seized. The women of Mountain Man smile when they sing, yell when they sing, touch when they sing and groan when they sing. It is the humanity behind their pristine harmonies that effects us so deeply. Underwater Peoples is proud to announce Mountain Mans first EP, and with it, the many puffs of air it will undoubtedly elicit. Mountain Man is Releasing an LP July 20th entitled "Made The Harbor," Sun Dog is a collection of alternative recordings." - Underwater Peoples. |

Like no other terrain ever explored, Jungle/Surf is diverse, exotic and utterly indefinable. While I cannot promise your past hiking experience will help you navigate this lush and mystical world, I can assure all who enter with an open heart and mind, will leave forever changed. Pill Wonder is the solo works of Will Murder Murdoch. This entire pop masterpiece was recorded with a little kid drum set, a recorder, an electric guitar of the fender telecaster variety, boxes of macaroni and cheese, and a delay pedal in the room hes spent all 22 years of his life (at his moms house) on an old, humongous DELL desktop computer with the really old and shitty illegally downloaded recording program Adobe Audition 2.0." - Underwater Peoples. |

| "LOUIS JONES, the musician behind SPECTRALS releases Spectrals Extended Play, the EP is a collection of new and previously unreleased songs. From the town of Heckmondwike, 10 miles southwest from Leeds, Louis is softly spoken with a shock of ginger hair. Brought up of a mixture of 60s & 70s soul, motown and doo-wop, Spectrals influences include Phil Spector (hence the name), Diana Ross & The Supremes, and The Isley Brothers alongside garage rock. Having previously released singles with Slumberland, Captured Tracks, Suplex Cassettes and Tough Love Records, the Spectrals Extended Play shows a progression in Louis music. Recorded completely on analog in a local studio, there is a notable difference in the production on the EP and his previous bedroom-esque recordings." -Underwater Peoples |

"In the age of social networking and digital distribution, where music fans are inundated with an endless barrage of preview tracks, video clips, and promotional blurbs, the story of little known Texas-based songwriter, Russell Hoke, reads almost like something swiped from the pages of The Acid Archives than from someone who has released four albums in 2011 alone. The truth is that Hoke had recorded a bunch of songs in the Eighties and Nineties, but has only, in the past few years, begun to actively release this material in limited, hand-assembled editions on his private press imprint, Unheard-Of." - Foxy Digitalis. |

Artist: NURSE WITH WOUND/BLIND CAVE SALAMANDER Title: Cabbalism Format: LP Label: United Dirter Country: UK Price: $30.00 |
| "November 2007, Venice. It was cold, damp and foggy. Nurse With Wound were playing two nights at the Teatro Fondamenta Nuove, with Blind Cave Salamander as support act. Listening to them perform, Steven Stapleton felt that some of what they played reminded him of the classic Nurse work, Soliloquy For Lilith (1988). He suggested that the two bands should explore the possibility of playing live together, to explore that piece with a view to recording an album. Forward to September 2009 when, after rehearsals, Nurse With Wound (Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter) and Blind Cave Salamander (Fabrizio Palumbo, Julia Kent and Paul Beauchamp) perform their live version of Soliloquy for the first time at the Mutamento Festival in Turin. The audience responded with great enthusiasm. The cabbalistic proceedings of that evening are contained on this recording." -United Dirter |

Artist: NURSE WITH WOUND/GRAHAM BOWERS Title: Ruptured Format: Double LP Label: United Dirter Country: UK Price: $30.00 |
|
"The first collaboration of Steven Stapletons Nurse With Wound and composer/sculptor Graham Bowers is now available as a very limited double vinyl LP in a special edition for Record Store day 2012 (well, it was pressed a couple weeks late, sorry). Rupture is an attempt to create a musical illustration of the "goings-on" in the brain during the last hour and three minutes of life after suffering a major stroke. It is multi-layered and is primarily concerned with the internal chaos caused by the loss of control of thought processes, responses and consequential actions, with all types of incoherent disjointed memories and present real-time events -- as well as moments of lucidity, panic and fear -- clashing, merging and evolving. Expertly mastered for vinyl and cut by Noel Summerville at 3345 Mastering. Packaged in a beautiful gloss laminated gatefold sleeve, featuring artwork from both Babs Santini and Graham Bowers, plus a full-color insert. Limited to 500 copies." - United Dirtier.

Artist: CO.,INC Title: Hollows Time Format: CDR Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $16.00 |
| "Just quietly, Jon Chapman has spun through a variety of incarnations in the years leading up to this well tasty cd of electronic delights. From founding the ever-expansionist Double Leopards in Philadelphia and appearing on their first three records, he went on to jam with Pearls Before Swines Tom Rapp; hes also sat in on the never-ending drum circle of outback Australian life, as well as fronting the worlds first Skullflower tribute band. Now resident in Dunedin, New Zealand, Hollows Time marks a maturity of the home-cookin electro vibe that dates back to the very first Co;Inc cassette in the mid nineties. Improvised and composed impulses collide in a mess of short-to-middling tracks that display a refreshing simplicity and clarity of purpose. Rough, pitted, obtuse, impossible electronica building blocks are juggled and arranged into floating ocean cities by genius lemurs under Chapmans firm but friendly direction. Housed in a gorgeous handmade and letterpressed (more like letter-hammered) sleeve, this marks out the down-under ex-patriate free-electronica art-folk slicker-trash scene as one to keep a close eye on." - United Fairy Moons. |

Artist: EYE Title: Black Ice Format: CDR Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $10.00 |
| "You need concentration at an Eye gig. But once youve dropped into the low, low, stiff-backed chair that they provide and put on your goggles, things start to happen. Eye are the original Quiet Men with Something Terrifying to say. And there are very few people who exit their shows who arent shaking their heads, glancing sideways, and saying something profound like ...wow... in a half-voice. We at UFM are proud to release this, the first full-length Eye cd, in the year that marks 25 years since percussionist (and these days samplist non-paralleled) Peter Stapleton first pounded the goblin drums on the very first release on legendary NZ imprint Flying Nun, The Pin Groups Coat. That hes now playing some of the best drums of his life, and that this collaboration with guitarist Peter Porteous and turntablist Ryan Cockburn (aka Spit) has all the hallmarks of his truly great groups like the Victor Dimisich Band and the Terminals - i.e. its a band that is truly more than the sum of its parts, and knows it, and exploits it to become an entity in legend and dreaming(well, maybe you need to BE THERE to understand that fully, but still.....) - is something to mark well." - United Fairy Moons. |

Artist: RAY OFF Title: I Am Not In The Racing Sky Format: CDR Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $10.00 |
| "Ray Off and his three year old son were staring at the clouds one day when the boy made a comment that became the idea behind and the title for Offs first large-scale band "composition". Realised by a crack pick-up group in three weeks and performed to an unprepared gathering at Dunedins None Gallery space, the piece is a fog of harps and sheeps; a cello dissolving in tears to chanteuse Pamela Poppins heartening sirenic solfege. The 27 minute recording seemed a good centrepiece for a cd celebrating a year of "off" actions, and is bookended by two live improvisations. "First Ray" starts off sounding like Black Dice on Sunday morning, before giving way to a cellos conversation with a cliffs edge; "Chinese New Year" sticks one half-thought-out guitar riff into a pipette and attempts to build a ship in a bottle out of broken biscuits." - United Fairy Moons. |

Artist: SINKING INFINITIES Title: Thousand-Year Reich Format: CDR Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $10.00 |
| "As we now know via Mr Conrad, Mr Cale, Mr Licht and the reissue programs of the world, minimalism in its infancy had a high birth weight and screamed for its fucking dinner. No gentle whisps of wind, this, but a blunt seismic shudder that was felt around the world in countless forms but sharing at its heart a primitive, immersive love of volume, stasis and the riff that stops time. So enters this tribute of sorts from the duo of Jon Chapman (ex-DOUBLE LEOPARDS; Rory Storm & The Invaders) and Jim Currin (ex-Three Forks; Ray Off) who, without thinking about it too much, or hardly at all in fact, take some of the moves inherent in the evolution of minimal thought such as those that may be seen in the still-ongoing career of one Steve Reich and use them as a takeoff point for a blitz of soaring drone, clutzy phasing tableaus, and chronic, chronic noise, always with an ear open for those strange cross-rhythmed universes that have melted hearts ever since he first came out to show them. Somewhat indicative of the madness that enveloped the pair on their recent Australian tour, this follows on from the icy electric floatings of their debut Forever Young, and will be bookended later this year by the natural follow-up, The Life Of Riley" - United Fairy Moons. |

Artist: SPIT Title: Trash Music Spitacular Format: CDR Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $9.00 |
| "Some projects take time to mellow, to pick up lint and absorb spilt coffee grounds. Trash Music Spitacular was months and months in the making and was an exhibition (at the Segue Gallery this past April), a masters thesis, a group-participation extravaganza, a public relations bonanza (nice photos of the unusual artist in all the papers) and finally now a CDR. And necessarily, no CDR can give you much beyond basic pointers when dealing with such a whirlwind of activity but lemme tell you a little about what went down. You had, firstly, a room and a corridor strewn - I mean, strewn - with sculptures etched with thought on the nature of recorded sound and the various traceries of musickal hardware. Then, every day for two weeks, performances. You had Kim Pieters painting notation onto graph paper while RC played the piece as the ink dried; a street horn - an absolutely massive length of metal piping with a stylus welded onto one end that was then dragged up and down Burlington St; a pile of wrecked furniture, taller than a man, wound with piano wire and played with anything available by RC and Aliki, with harpist Katrina Thomson (Ray Off) jamming along; a cellist in evening dress alongside a ghetto blaster that was being buried under a four foot high mound of coal; two homies on the 16rpm decks, while a drunken idiot rambled on about the secret punk beginnings of Snoop Dogg... thats a few of em. Flux as hell, yes? Well, possibly the best thing I saw was one night in the bellringers chamber of the church next door (the oldest church in Dunedin). Cockburn had the actual bellringers of this place perform a chance operation composition, with each ringer assigned a number and him rollin the dice. Balls like big fluffy dice, this guy. Youll hear a section of that on this disc - and much else besides. Its really nicely varied, concisely edited - most pieces are fairly short - and gives a good overview of a guy whos a pretty zoned and imaginative cracked-sound thinker. Ryan was initially known to us music-heads around here as the guy who cut records in half, glued em back together all wrong, then made a hell of an invigorating racket - theres none of that here (but plenty on Eyes Black Ice CDR, him being a member of that group). Hes just, you know, got a lot to offer. Something that Melbourne, to where hes about to relocate, is going to learn very fast." - United Fairy Moons. |

Artist: THREE FORKS Title: Seven Layer Ape Format: CD Label: United Fairy Moons Country: New Zealand Price: $13.00 |
|
"This collection of 2002-04 recordings by the recently deceased Dunedin trio Three Forks is the first widely available disc to feature guitarist Donald McPherson since 2001s solo effort Bramble (metonymic), praised for its originality and McPhersons obvious mastery of guitar picking, His longstanding weekend duo with Sandoz Lab Technician Tim Cornelius was expanded early in 2002 to include James Currin, and although they didnt play out for over a year they setttled down to regular jamming and recording, initially concentrating on shortish improv power-trio jams, on guitar, drums and cello respectively. This first phase is represented here by two tracks, Ums and Ahs and Peru, with McPherson way out front on electric guitar, his extraordinary improvising imagination leading the group down a line somewhere between rock and a giddy free-jazz cuckoo-fest. By the time of their first shows in 2003, the balance had spread out with Currin and Cornelius contributing on a wide variety of instuments, and McPherson mainly on acoustic. In this year they recorded Baby Ives, released as one half (with Eye) of a lathe-cut 10", which veered wildly in mood between the hideous and the gorgeous, with vocals, radio and drum machine used in addition to the acoustic arsenal - it was a pointer towards the strange, rickety beast that is represented on the 03/04 recordings here. The opener Dust Tea is a quiet beauty, simple violin and cello framing McPhersons entrancing home-made-guitar plucks. Otaru Vision and Trimming The Verge drone and saw, playing elevation against irritation with strong noise elements, while Page 99 and Drunken Traffic achieve a level of melodic layering that is extraordinary for a purely improvising group. The last in particular, a complete 15-minute jam recorded live at Dunedins Community Gallery, points out where this groups head was at when they were at their best - a near-wallowing in melodic intensities that never caramelizes, and never, ever heads in the direction you expect it to. Indeed like this track, almost every track on Seven Layer Ape is a complete, unedited, un-fucked-with performance (only Otaru Vision is an excerpt) with just their fronts and ends tidied up; and while the Community Gallery recording is a little cavernous, replete with the sounds of car alarms, engines, and passing late-night-shoppers, the rest of the disc features exceptionally clear and present sound, unusual in a band mining this area of the improv universe. James Robinson, who drew the cover art, is known NZ-wide for his massive, completely insane graphomaniac canvases, and each cover is handscreened and partially hand-painted by Currin and Cornelius. Were very happy to be able to present this bands work and in particular to present another side of Donald McPhersons world-class guitar playing. This label got its start with his Liquified lathe LP (a recording of a 2001 gig), and both Cornelius and Currin contributed to that record; and so it is that our first real CD release should be this impressive and singular album." - United Fairy Moons.

Artist: AIRAKSINEN, PEKKA Title: One Point Music Format: LP Label: Unknown Country: Europe Price: $16.00 |
|
"Pekka Airaksinen started making music in the late 1960s with the group the Sperm, combining performance art with experimental music of the day. With influences such as John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen, the Sperm combined free jazz and psychedelic pop to create a sound resembling early industrial music and noise. After the Sperms breakup in the 70s, Pekka Airaksinen became a Buddhist and would stop releasing music for almost a decade. Airaksinen, who was regarded as a recluse, returned to the public eye in the mid-80s under his own name and with a brand new but equally futuristic vision. His album Buddhas of Golden Light is an incredible mixture of Sun Ras cosmic free jazz and twisted rhythms programmed on a Roland 808 drum machine. At the end of the decade techno elevated the 808 to a fetish object and Airaksinen disappeared for another five years. In the 90s Airaksinen released a large number of CDs and CD-Rs on his own Dharmakustannus label, on which the style of each track varied wildly - breaking every rule of the niche-group marketing concepts of the era. All his recordings, whether they are his unique interpretations of contemporary music, new age, ambient house or jazz, are characterized by a sense of improvisation and casual roughness that is rare in electronic music. The most avant-garde pieces of his recent output continue his earlier work with the imaginary anthropoid music of the future. One Point Music is his shining moment. Originally pressed in an edition of 120, this reissue has been needed for a long time." - Mutant Sounds. Reissue of 1972 release (just "A Little Soup.." from this album is included on the double CD released on Love in 2003). Very highly recommended! |

Artist: V/A Title: Reportage: Spela Själv Format: LP Label: Unknown Country: USA Price: $18.00 |
| "Exact reproduction LP of a Swedish release from 1970. A bit of confusion surrounds this release: The album has been credited to Träd, Gräs och Stenar, but they arent featured on it. Bo Anders Persson did, in fact, in collaboration with Solvieg Bark, compile, edit and release this album. Bo Anders Persson, was a member of the legendary Swedish bands Harvester, International Harvester, Pärson Sound, and Träd, Gräs Och Stenar. Solveig Bark was one of a few young composers that, through the UNM (Young Nordic Music Festivals), would become a contemporary of Erkki Kurenniemi, Folke Rabe, etc. Reportage: Spela Själv roughly translates to Play Yourself. It contains field recordings of amateurs playing/making sounds. Raga Concrète, if you will. A fine, rare, and lovely piece to behold." Highly recommended! |

Artist: YA HO WHA 13 Title: Pain/A Thousand Sighs Format: 7" Label: Unknown Country: USA Price: $8.00 |
| "Most-sincere moments of unmediated clarity/genius from improvisational psych-rock collective Ya Ho Wa 13. Father Yods spiritual encirclement and their well-jocked music tends to be discombobulated at best, but these songs record a very different story: brahmanic ascension, heart-wrenching expression, a beautiful simplicity and sincerity that shines through immediately and captivates with our first utterances of astonishment. This, my children, is the real art. Pain & A Thousand Sighs can go blow for blow with the most celebrated of the 1970s rock/psych/experimental cannon, moments of revelation that break through the cult of personality and attempt something much more universal than a simple exercise in improvisation. An essential release." |
|
Artist: RIMARIMBA Title: In The Woods Format: LP Label: Unlikely Country: UK Price: $24.00 |
Original unplayed/copies of this 1985 LP by post punk/homemade avant-garde artist Robert Cox. Features Dave Walklett.
Restock of all the available releases from Alan Jenkins (main man behind Deep Freeze Mice, Chrysanthemums, etc..) late-70s-through-mid-80s Cordelia label and a few other related titles. "Rimarimba and Unlikely Records were the brainchild of Robert Cox. Between 1981 and 1985, Unlikely released cassettes and LPs by Coxs own projects under various guises, as well as Milovan Srdenovic ‘Voodoo Bastard. ‘In The Woods is the second Rimarimba LP, this time with the assistance from Davy Walklett (guitar) and Lenny Bove on a few tracks. Rimarimbas music is mostly keyboard based with the occasional sampler oddity, weird treated vocals or guitar. Tracks are build on synth loops, interesting electronic sonorities, melodic counterpoint and humour. Rimarimabas great achievement on this LP also relies on rhythm, with the use of complex rhythms intertwined with exquisite melodies. To this listener, the music is reminiscent of post-RIO bands like ZNR or Débile Menthol, with a naivety a la Look De Book or even Klimperei. Track titles are indeed very descriptive of the content, and very funny at that. This legendary LP still sounds fresh today." - Continuo blog.

Artist: BISHOP, SIR RICHARD Title: The Unrock Tapes Format: LP Label: Unrock Country: Germany Price: $27.00 |
| "After having released records on labels such as Locust, Drag City and John Faheys Revenant, Richard Bishops.... The Unrock Tapes... contains eight complete tracks, six of which are highlights taken from earlier tour CDrs that were released on micro-editions years ago. They have never been available on vinyl. Two completely new and unreleased songs make this album even more special. Bishops guitar playing skills contain a variety of influences. They could arouse the absurd impression that his work has something to do with what one would call world music. But his playing gets its fire and fascination from being irreverent in Bishops unique way. The spirit of his former outfit Sun City Girls is still floating through the album, even if it is not the musical intention, however it gives an impression of an underlying ever increasing and developing personal signature. On the one hand, Bishop uses influences respectfully (Omar Khorshid) and on the other hand his style is typically disrespectful. His guitar playing is delicate and hybrid; because of his subtle skills Bishop is able to express himself in a wide range of styles without losing authenticity. That his Ragas fray out and end up in distortion and his Flamenco sounds Arabic, is also part of his game. Bishop is a Grand-seigneur of the modern American Underground and a big part of its substance and integrity. He is a magician with his guitar; still a winking prankster. Variable and never too predictable. That is also what makes him special. Unrock in its purest form. Released in a limited pressing of 500 copies in 140g clear, virgin vinyl." -Unrock. |
|
Artist: BROTHERS UNCONNECTED Title: Unrock the House Format: Double LP Label: Unrock Country: Germany Price: $39.00 |
"Unrock the House, by Alan and Richard Bishop aka Brothers Unconnected, is a truly remarkable document and album. Its a desirable object for eyes and ears that stands completely for itself, and it is the history and legacy of the leading and legendary performance unit Sun City Girls, who served the contemporary underground/avant-scene over a period of 25 years with inspiration and influence. It is in fact a grandiose homage to Sun City Girls and their late drummer Charles Gocher. The uncut live performance from Suedbahnhof in Krefeld, Germany 2011 is recorded in brilliant quality and contains tracks from Sun City Girls and the complete spoken-word interludes which makes it a delicate performance and captures the magic of the moment in full. "Rookoobay," "Soi Cowboy," "Horse Cock Phepner," "Dreamland," and "Shining Path" are part of the set as well as "Black Orchid" from Sun City Girls final album Funeral Mariachi. Unrock the House is housed in a gatefold sleeve and contains one black and one white vinyl album. The entire performance is more then 80 minutes long. It is a limited edition one-time vinyl pressing." - Unrock.

Artist: LANDRY, DICKIE Title: Fifteen Saxophones Format: LP Label: Unseen Worlds Country: USA Price: $17.00 |
|
"Reissue of this little known classic from founding Philip Glass Ensemble member Richard Dickie Landry. Following two jazz LPs issued on the Chatham Square label (which he co-ran), Dickie Landry released Fifteen Saxophones, a set of 1974 recordings done with engineer Kurt Munkacsi, on the Northern Lights and Wergo labels in 1978. Fifteen Saxophones simultaneously demonstrates Landrys boundary-pushing saxophone and his understanding of the minimalists long-form treatises on sound. Using intricate Revox tape delays on Fifteen Saxophones, Alto Flute Quad Delay, and the side-long live document Kitchen Solos, Landrys strong personality as a player shines through a brilliant wall of sound. It is unsurprising Landry was a fixture in the same New York scene that spawned artists like Richard Serra - something equally monumental exists in the pieces found on this album. This reissue includes new liner notes by Clifford Allen and period photos by Gianfranco Gorgoni." -Unseen Worlds

Artist: LAUTEN, ELODIE Title: The Death of Don Juan: An Opera In Two Acts Format: CD Label: Unseen Worlds Country: USA Price: $14.00 |
| "CD debut of this 1985 post-minimal landmark by Elodie Lauten. Lauten has been active in the downtown New York classical and punk scenes since moving from France in the 1970s. The Death of Don Juan is a breakthrough for its lyrical minimalism in combination with drama that actively engages a contemporary emotional experience. Originally self-produced and released as a small LP edition on her own label, it has been touted ever since by Kyle Gann, who adds notes to this edition, and was recently included on one of Alan Lichts Minimal Top Ten lists. Features performances by Arthur Russell and Peter Zummo." - Unseen Worlds |

Artist: SPIEGEL, LAURIE Title: The Expanding Universe Format: Double CD Label: Unseen Worlds Country: USA Price: $17.00 |
| "The Expanding Universe is the classic 1980 debut album by composer and computer music pioneer Laurie Spiegel. The album is reissued here for the first time in a massively expanded two-CD set, containing all four original album tracks plus an additional 15 tracks from the same period, nearly all previously unreleased. Some of the already well-know works included in this set are Patchwork, the complete Appalachian Grove series, and Keplers Harmony of the Worlds, which was included on the golden record launched on board the Voyager spacecraft. The pieces comprising The Expanding Universe combine slowly evolving textures with the emotional richness of intricate counterpoint, harmony, and complex rhythms (John Fahey and J. S. Bach are both cited as major influences in the original covers notes), all built of electronic sounds. These works, often grouped with those of Terry Riley, Phil Glass, Steve Reich, differ in their much shorter, clear forms. Composed and realized between 1974 and 1977 on the GROOVE system developed by Max Mathews and F.R. Moore at Bell Laboratories, the pieces on this album were far ahead of their time both in musical content and in how they were made. Each of the included works broke new ground, pioneering completely new methods of live interaction with computer-based logic - ways of creating music that are now reaching the heights of their popularity with Ableton Live, Max/MSP and other interactive music software entering mainstream music production. The package also includes an extensive 24-page booklet with notes by Laurie Spiegel and period photos." - Unseen Worlds. |

Artist: TYRANNY, BLUE GENE Title: Detours Format: LP Label: Unseen Worlds Country: USA Price: $21.00 |
| "Limited to 250 copies with alternate artwork (from the CD). Detours is Blue Gene Tyrannys first album of new piano works since 2003s Take Your Time. A beautifully recorded collection of tracks composed between 2004 and 2010, Detours belongs to a rarefied class of supremely listenable and beautiful piano albums that are not encumbered by any new-age shabbiness. It possesses the sort of timeless and elegant romanticism so unpretentious and accomplished it seems to at once effortlessly canonize itself. The four pieces on Detours have their origins in disparate sources of inspiration -- a longtime friend in San Francisco, a chance visit to a Quaker meetinghouse, a choreographed dance, philosophical intuition. Harmonic discourses begin at a pre-determined location and wind up at a totally unexpected place. Tyranny is a master pianist, able to follow mood and impulse to uncharted new territory." -Unseen Worlds. |

Artist: 3 TOED SLOTH Title: Against The Odds Format: Double 7" Label: Unwucht Country: USA Price: $18.00 |
| Features feedtime drummer, Tom. "Six previously unreleased tracks from the dark ages of sydney in the early 90s a time when record shops, fanzines, small labels & venues were in their death throes if not already dead. Recorded live to 1/2" tape on a monday evening in early 93 by William a young fan then doing a recording engineers course who offered 3 toed sloth a free session at his TAFE college studio. The intended 7" never happened & the reels laid dormant in the bottom of a wardrobe for the next 17 years until Unwucht heard a rough mix taken from an old cassette tape & enthusiastically proposed releasing it. The 1/2" master was finally tracked down & mixed in september 2010. against the odds is now proudly presented by Unwucht in a hand xeroxed gatefold sleeve including a full colour postcard. Edition of 295 copies." -Unwucht. |

Artist: BILDERS Title: Solomans Ball Format: 12" Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $18.00 |
|
Bilders/Builders were Bill Direen and Allen Meek. "1981. Direen and Meek take it slow and easy, layering their brand of menace over solid foundations. As a duo they managed to extend the range The Bilders were known for, from the lyrical acoustic harmonies of America to the gothic psychopathy of Son of Cronos. Dub experiments on Strange Nights, subtle at first, end by discovering new territory, while the shimmering darkness of Dead Heat makes the EP complete. The original 7" was released in 1982 as a limited edition of 100 copies. A second pressing of unknown but small quantity was manufactured the same year with completely different sleeve design. All music has been carefully remastered to bring out its full brilliance. The screen printed sleeve is based on the original artwork of the rare first pressing. An additional insert includes extracts from Prototype Publications "The Uterus And Beyond" and "Slices Of Man"." - Unwucht.

Artist: BUILDERS Title: High Thirties Piano Format: 12" Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $20.00 |
"Unwuchts 4-part series of reissued Bilders EPs reaches its zenith with a mysterious and fascinating release.
After three EPs of carefully constructed and layered studio work, High 30s is an assemblage of suddenly made songs and unexpected coherent fragments from a bunch of live sessions at Nightshift Studios. Its sound rises from the creative pressure spring of Christchurch, or better call it anti-Christchurch, at the time of early Flying Nun. Opening with the buzzy classic Magazine ("If you wanna stay, just take a magazine out of the rack"), it rolls without mercy through Kicks ("morning comes theyre gonna do it again") and Payline, before drifting into calmer and more spheric regions on side 2 with Avenue ("the universe without a doubt is running blue") and the as-yet unheard Yellow Swathes.
First released in 1982 (100 copies), the original EP of live studio takes was already a poke in the eye for the mainstream labels, but equally daring was the groups attempt to squeeze nearly 20 minutes of music into the grooves of a simple 7". The downside was that the 1982 dynamics were low, and a veil of distracting crackle marked Flying Nuns scratchy copy of the 7" in its CD reissue of 1993.
Incredibly, that was not the end of the story. In 2011, while going through his deceased fathers attic, Bill Direen found a forgotten chrome cassette of a much clearer mix. Here were a different vocal take of Magazine, longer versions of Kicks and Avenue, a never released Bilders song called The Lamp and more. Bills discovery compelled Unwucht to re-structure the EP, and to release the newly-found recordings on more suitable 12" format for appropriate sound quality. The rough and generally fierce core material has been completed by a revealing succession of uncovered gems that glimpse a more demure side of the Bilders personality.
The package delivers a screen-printed sleeve - a timbre variation of the original 1982 version - along with a simple reproduction of the rarely seen 7 inch photocopy insert of original track info and photos.
Edition: 300 copies." - Unwucht.

Artist: DIREEN, BILL Title: Six Impossible Things Format: 12" Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $18.00 |
|
First of four of the earliest Direen (Builders/Bilders, Vacuum, Above Ground..) vinyl releases to be reissued on Unwucht.
The original Six Impossible Things 7" was an edition of 100 copies on Sausage Records, Wellington NZ, 1981. Includes inserts with additional photos & text about Six Impossible Things/Aro St anarchist commune in Wellington. Edition of 350. Highly recommended! "The original 7" EPs are among the rarest & best independent records that ever came out of New Zealand. Three of them were private pressings of only 100 copies back in 1981/82.SCHWIMMEN IN DER SEE was one of the earliest Flying Nun releases in 1982. UNWUCHT will issue them as FOUR SEPARATE 12"EPs, carefully restored/remastered from lots of different sources & cut especially loud & deep for the most dynamic result. The sleeves will be screen printed high quality reproductions of the original artwork. Artist: IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT Title: Dance Trances Format: LP Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $20.00 |
| "DANCE TRACES is IMPRACTICAL COCKPITs 9th album and its recordings cover the period from 2002 to 2011. While the earlier tracks work up influences of late 70s/early 80s proto industrial (Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Portion Control), IPCPs more recent recordings seem to parallel current developments in electronic dance music like 2 step garage and dubstep. They create a type of minimalist space music that some found danceable, even though its drone qualities were at times syrupy slow and difficult to dance to. Lets call it deconstructed Bedhouse aka the "plunger punk sound of Turned Word". Edition of 150." -Unwucht |

Artist: IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT Title: Pretty Totally Format: LP Label: Unwucht Country: USA Price: $19.00 |
| "After recording their first record, Sounds of Nature (Trd W/D, 1999) as a duo, IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT became a trio, deeply intensified their dynamics, and moved to New Orleans. In full tripod mode, they cranked out infamous ninety-minute live sets, dragging the irregular out of the standard bass-drums-guitar lineup. Their wide open soul-suck sound mixes a retro-boozled howl with the ack ack attack of negative creeps such as Flipper. Their unique punch drunk logic ping-pongs its way through the echo tank and your flimsy human skull. Re-mastered in 2010, first time on vinyl. Packaged in jackets recycled from German thrift shops. Edition of 295." -Unwucht |

Artist: RITCHIE VENUS Title: Rocking To The Grave Format: LP Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $15.00 |
|
"RITCHIE VENUS accomplishments going back to the mid-60s include impersonating Elvis, making films, writing 500+ songs, releasing a 7-inch on Flying Nun in 1983, touring with The Troggs, and releasing numerous LPs, singles, cassettes and CDs on Christchurchs Onset Offset, the label he still runs with Campbell McLay. Unwuchts reissue of his 1998 cassette, recorded at home with a drum machine and cheap gear, shows off Venuss talent as a songwriter, musician, singer and arranger. This desperate glance backward at an aging rock singers career is full of sorrow, failure, and humor (when the last of the audience is dead, he kills his band and rocks on forever). One particular highlight is "Listen, World," written in 1975, with AXEMENs STEVE MCCABE on noise guitar and PATRICK FALGAN of SAY YES TO APES / BROTHER LOVE on drums. Screen printed jacket. Artist: V/A Title: Krypton Ten (Christchurch 1981-87) Format: Double LP Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $28.00 |
|
"In the early 80s Onset Offset Records of Christchurch, New Zealand released nine "Krypton Hits" compilations, most on small run cassettes, one LP, a 7"EP and a VHS video cassette. The Krypton volumes did not only feature brilliant local acts like The Riptoids, G.O.D., The Oxes or Nick Slick, they also included tons of otherwise unavailable material by well known artists like Bill Direen/The Bilders, Scorched Earth Policy or The Puddle, to name but a few.
In collaboration with Onset Offset Records Unwucht now releases the 10th volume in the series, a double LP of 28 Krypton selections along with 2 archival tracks available here for the first time: The full 4 mins version of BILL DIREENs High Thirties Piano and a Devo-esque electro punk track by DROWNING IS EASY, featuring M.S. Agro (later of the Terminals) on lead vocals and recorded in 1981.
The tracklist further includes 2 more early BILDERS tracks (as The Cherry Smash and Ritual Sex), SCORCHED EARTH POLICY, THE PUDDLE, RITCHIE VENUS & THE BLUE BEETLES, THE GORILLAS (Steve McCabes pre Axemen high school band), WE TOOs Crushed Velvet Morning, a GEORGE HENDERSON solo opus from 1982 and tons more.
The album comes in a screen printed gatefold sleeve including 2 pages of never before seen photos from the artists private archives. Two double sided inserts of liner notes written by the featured artists will give an insight to a yet undocumented Christchurch scene that existed besides the great nun." - Unwucht.

Artist: V/A Title: Never See You Again (Augsburg 1982-85) Format: Double 7" Label: Unwucht Country: Germany Price: $20.00 |
| Early 80s "minimal synth/post punk/psychotic beat" from three bands featuring Joachim Stender of P.D. and LAventure Imaginaire. "SCHATTEN UNTER EIS: The first band to show the sleepy town of Augsburg what new music really meant. From early casio experiments to Some Bizzare style synth pop the featured tracks give an impression of the great development this band went through during their short time of existance. WAHNVORSTELLUNG: Following the motto "2 punks are 3 bands" Schatten unter Eis was just one of several projects around the same core of musicians. The legendary K.d.E. are still undocumented but heres a legendary cut of Wahnvorstellung almost being thrown off stage by a dumb rock audience. FLOW MY TEARS THE POLICEMAN SAID: Totally unique garage rock in a Beauty Contest / Painless Dirties vein. Joachim Stender mutated into a madman during their rare live appearances. A proposed album for Alfred Hilsbergs Whats So Funny About label never happened but they left a brilliant cassette recorded in a practice room with two dummy head microphones." - Unwucht. "Up-Tight are a noxious young trio from Tokyo, all acolytes of the legendary Japanese psych group Les Rallizes Denudes, who augment their sound with crushing, Sabbath-styled dynamics, earsplitting acid leads and beautiful Velvets-inspired ballads. The opening Melt Rain filters the thug rock of UK geasers like The Deviants through a PSF aesthetic, with epic levels of feedback and sustain. If song structures are mostly kept loose, allowing for lots of noisy improvisation, generally the disc is anchored by heavy riffs. Just when you thought youd got to grips with Tokyos paradigm destroying psych scene, this one hits like a sucker punch." - David Keenan.

Artist: FORMER GHOSTS Title: Fleurs Format: LP Label: Upset The Rhythm Country: UK Price: $19.00 |
| "Former Ghosts is the synthpop-inspired band formed and led by Freddy Ruppert (of This Song Is A Mess But So Am I) and consisting of Jamie Stewart (of Xiu Xiu) and Nika Roza (of Zola Jesus). The album sweeps through you with its sweet melodic side, sprinkling in sharp, chaotic, discordant moments -- as if to punish you for having enjoyed yourself, for having let your guard down. Dreams plays through with melodies and textures reminiscent of early synth-pop, kept alive with the warm heart-like thumping of the synthetic kick drum. Freddys (This Song Is A Mess But So Am I) vocals crawl low through the hallucinatory soundscape, led on by the gentle buttering of Jamies back-ups in the chorus. Jamies (Xiu Xiu, etc) influence on the album enters obliquely, buttering some of the albums harder edges, organizing the sometimes disoriented moments of glitch and electro-mania. He plays an unfamiliar role -- softer, more understated (in his particular context) -- but in his familiar style. Starring solo on I Wave, youre drawn into the springy synths, cushioned by his smooth voice--the track is almost a reprieve from heavier textures found elsewhere in the album. On white vinyl." -Upset The Rhythm |

Artist: MAUS, JOHN Title: Love Is Real Format: CD Label: Upset The Rhythm Country: UK Price: $15.00 |
|
"John Maus lives and works in Austin, Minnesota. Although first drawn to our attention as a core member of Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti and keyboard player with Animal Collectives Panda Bear, Maus has proved himself an extraordinary musician with a distinctive sound in his own right. Love Is Real is an album of contrast, of obscurity and familiarity, of darkness and light. Moments of intense disco anxiety warning against the sins of avarice (Too Much Money) find themselves rubbing shoulders with romantic virtuoso fugues (Green Bouzard). The juxtaposition of the buoyant 80s synth pop alongside Johns sombre, sometimes even morose lyrics is another good example of this tension. Without you girl, Im going over the edge, Maus sings over the four-to-the-floor dance rhythm of the albums prescient closer Times Is Weird. Over the fantastical keyboard gymnastics of The Whole Worlds Coming Apart, John finds relief in repeatedly confessing This is my nightmare, my nightmare. Its contrasts like these which point towards Johns preoccupation on this album with confused emotions and misunderstood intentions. Ariel Pink, Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Scott Walker, Echo & The Bunnymen, Goblin, Ultravox, Joy Division, The Cure, Bach."- Upset The Rhythm

Artist: PHEROMOANS Title: Does This Guy Stack Up? Format: LP Label: Upset the Rhythm Country: UK Price: $18.00 |
| "The Pheromoans are a six-piece experimental rock band from the South East of England who deal in deadpan DIY music. Wedded to the mundane, surreal reportage of our lives as reflected in the media, their music manages to address the truly restless boredom of everyday life. These are songs from underneath the ergonomic desk, a glimpse through the commuter window, blasted through with brilliant suburban sunshine. Over the last three years, the band have put out a slew of releases, including numerous EPs, 7"s and three albums through labels as diverse as Night People, Convulsive, Sweet Rot, Monofonus Press and their own imprint, Savoury Days. These releases largely focused on a ramshackle, wayward rock ethic, underpinned by lyricist Russell Walkers dry, observational musings. Does This Guy Stack Up? witnesses a slight departure from their sound of old. With the recent addition of keyboard/violin player Dan Bolger to the band, their songs have leaned into a more pop-balanced realm, with the bands experimental tape collage approach sounding more natural than ever. The bass (Christian Butler aka The Octogram), drums (James Hines) and guitars (James Tranmer, Alex Garran) together forge a coherent foundation for Walkers voice to ramble amongst the radiant synth and electronic flourishes. Central to the appeal of The Pheromoans are Russell Walkers insightful, often wonderfully humorous, self-deprecating lyrics that paint a picture of all of us as outsiders. Finding much material in the slow and steady decline of the 21st century and its vain pursuits, Walker isnt afraid to rattle the cage of populist politics. With Does This Guy Stack Up?, The Pheromoans deconstruct a very English sense of ennui and in doing so show us its nonsensical building blocks. This album proves The Pheromoans are at their best when shooting from the sidelines." - Upset the Rhythm. Limited to 750 copies. |

Artist: ATRAX MORGUE Title: Esthetik Of A Corpse Format: LP Label: Urashima Country: Italy Price: $26.00 |
| "The sadistic industrial spurts of Atrax Morgue, are secretions of body fluids converted into noise stinging and nauseous and his work is an unhealthy, stinking container, with most depraved delusions that the human brain can give birth. The thirteen splinters of Esthetik Of A Corpse were recorded in spring 1995 and released on tape by Slaughter Production. The tracks on here are monolithic machines of industrial death that are portrayed in lovingly grating and rasping detail, with engines of soul rapine and pulsating, screaming contraptions eager to slice their way through soft flesh. The putrescence is tangible, and one could almost smell and taste the miasma of decay that pervades the entire vinyl. Remastered at Elettroformati in August 2012 with the permission of the Corbellis family. The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve (with inside polyethylene plastic) and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 99 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper." - Urashima. |

Artist: ATRAX MORGUE Title: I Vizi Morbosi Di Una Giovane Infermiera Format: LP Label: Urashima Country: Italy Price: $30.00 |
"Atrax Morgue is anxious and psychotic side of the electronic noise. With the help of a analog synth, Marco blows up emotions and delusions, cutting out the hard way inspired portraits of phobias and deviations. Originally released on cassette under the title of ‘Nursery Crime in a special box limited to 50 copies and later reissued on cd-r in very few copies with the title ‘I vizi morbosi di una giovane infermiera, is one of the most introspective and deep Atrax Morgue s works. ‘A vision, a blaze of sweetness and understanding. Then you return into the mechanism and those extreme emotions are already vanished. I still surprise myself thinking about death. I need an impossible surgery operation. If illness is life, the cure is death. Injections of static death. from liner notes. Recorded winter 1999 at SweetSlaughter. | "Reissue of the private LP, issued in an edition of 300 copies in 1982 and titled in original Mörder Unter Uns/Neuro Habitat , considered with Regel one of the Maurizio Bianchis most representative works , Neuro Habitat is finally reissued for the first time in vinyl and remastered under the supervision of the Milanese artist. Side A "Morder Unter Uns" made of puzzled motifs and effects is a dark, sinister mantra to oppressive musical experiences. The piece finishes in an industry of molecular, bloody like loops. Side B "Neuro Habitat" is much more abstract, including ghostly electronic harmonies, gloomy echoing noises and more...a very charged cerebral universe. Extreme drones and noises, abundant textural disturbances: M.B.s at his creative peak! The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve (with inside polyethylene plastic) and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve with the same layout of original sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper and A4 text Entrance for a punishment by M.B (1982 circa). Artist: M.B. Title: Regel Format: LP Label: Urashima Country: Italy Price: $30.00 |
"Reissue of the private LP, issued in an edition of 300 copies in 1982, considered one of the Maurizio Bianchis most representative works , Regel is finally reissued for the first time in vinyl and remastered under the supervision of the Milanese artist. The record consists of two untitled tracks. Mostly track one is made up of manipulated noises with some synthesizer or theremin phrases added for detail and contrast. The second track is a bit more focused, with less noise, more recognizable melodic content and less invasive loops. The music is unlinear and effortlessly multilayered and the sound focuses on texture rather than structure. Here you can see M.B.s early phase as a sick, cancerous organism eating itself out. The record has been pressed on 140 gr red vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve (with inside polyethylene plastic) and comes in a deluxe black silkscreen on red cardboard sleeve with the same layout of original sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper." - Urashima. |

Artist: AURAL FIT Title: Mubomuso Format: CD Label: Utech Country: USA Price: $17.00 |
| "Mubomuso is a neologism, made up from two extant words. Mubo suggests the unadorned and unaffected, while muso means to be in a state without thought or preplanning. All parts of the release lead the listener towards the consideration of a very specific topic - namely, war and violence, and the deeper connections to human nature. Stripped of the clothing of civilization, etiquette and socialization, we slowly become aware of reactions and purposes that exist deep within us - embedded command codes. Is violent conflict then engraved on our DNA? What purpose does humanity serve on this planet? Aural Fit are the biggest underground psych/noise rock band to rise from the in-the-red psych aesthetics of early High Rise. Bohachi Mondo, Tanabe Endo Kenichi and Nanbu Teruhisa breathe fire. Unyielding, the band devastate on their third full length. Volume at white noise levels, pained vocals, overdriven guitar and unsettled bass and drums are telling of Aural Fits perception of the world. Edition of 500." - Utech. |

Colossal rumbles and riffs arc across an expanse of darkness, lighting shadows of phantom cities, burnout survivors, fires burning in endless night. Her brilliant debut You Never Atone For on There/Musik Atlack rode gilded wings straight to the heart of the psych sun. The journey continues with Kunado. A tincture of Taj Mahal Travellers, wispy oscillations and lysergic vocals bathes the recording in delicate atmosphere as Sachikos sonic attack leaves vicious and harrowing results. A listen not soon forgotten." -Utech.

Artist: SKULLFLOWER Title: Desire for a Holy War Format: CD Label: Utech Country: USA Price: $13.50 |
| "Desire for a Holy War is mayhem piled on top of mayhem piled on top of squalls of caustic feedback. Furies spitting oaths of shrouded vengeance from ancient tongues. Plague riders dealing death on mounts of venomous ether, hooves pounding the wild earth. Matthew Bower may have reached a watershed with last years Abyssic Lowland Hiss (Heavy Blossom) but it is with Desire that he has come to conquer. Never has Skullflower sounded so severe or remorseless."-Utech |

Artist: ZAIMPH Title: La Nuit Electrique Format: CD Label: Utech Country: USA Price: $16.50 |
| "Marcia Bassett (Double Leopards, Hototogisu) rears Zaimphs vile head once again on La Nuit Electrique. A raspy, delicate instrumental passage begins like a crippled music box. Elegant and soporose. Blackened guitar and amplification apprise the rest. Acrid feedback hangs in the air and vocal modulations clot inside dark rivers of current. The night electric." -Utech. |

Artist: TERRESTRIAL TONES Title: Oboroed / Circus Lives Format: CD Label: UUnited Acoustic Recordings Country: USA Price: $14.50 |
| "Terrestrial Tones are Eric Copeland and Dave Portner, two dedicated musicians who make their own sounds while on hiatus from their respective bands: Black Dice and Animal Collective. The Tones music was made to be played live through a huge stack of speakers yet listening to Oboroed in your own space is oddly relaxing as sound waves morph and sonic tapestries shift. This is noise but very deep noise minimally composed and direct sounding. Oboroed is slightly longer and more subdued, coming in almost like GAS and then shifting through different songs to a kaleidoscopic and epic effect. Circus Lives is more aggressive, particularly with the bass frequencies, with the cascading rhythms of the mid-range, and with the bold choice of samples. Oboroed / Circus Lives was recorded by the Tones at Terrestrial Home in November 2004 then mixed and mastered with Rusty Santos in January 2005. Although the lineage from Animal Collective and Black Dice can be faintly detected in the music, Oboroed / Circus Lives maps a different territory barely touched upon with their other bands. They present electronic music with a surprising new take." - UUnited Acoustic Recordings. |

Artist: AFCGT Title: AFCGT Format: LP Label: Uzu Country: Canada Price: $21.00 |
|
"AFCGT = 3 parts A-Frames + 2 parts Climax Golden Twins. This is a vinyl release of their self release CDr that was limited to about 75 copies. Those lucky enough to have heard that CDr, along with those who have caught one of this beast live in the past year know just what to expect. Not quite as robotic and structured as the A-Frames, not quite as loose nor remotely as mellow as the Twins ever are. This is a not perfect marriage between two great Seattle bands, this is a raw, noisy, dirty, steamy affair. This record is in the red all the way through, and by the end your speakers should be nearly as blown out as the amps used to record these tracks. Pressed in an edition of 550 on 180 gram white vinyl. Packaged in a tip-on style gatefold jacket with silkscreened art." -Uzu

Artist: JACKIE-O MOTHERFUCKER Title: Freaker Pipe Format: LP Label: Uzu Audio Country: Canada Price: $24.00 |
| "What started out as an effort to issue some live recordings from the Fig. 5/Liberation era slowly turned into what is the most recent live recordings made available. The free jazz tinged freakouts you were going to hear have been shelved so we could bring you these three swirling moments in time. Almost an entirely different line up on this Jackie-O than previous releases, Tom Greenwood brings along Nick Bindeman, Danny Sasaki, and Eva Salens, joined by fellow sonic adventurers, Jessica Rylan on one track, while on the last track they are joined in Italy by The Moglass and My Cat Is An Alien. The entire first side features a séance sure to bring out all the ghosts in your home as the percussion builds and the guitars, synths, and saxophone create a shimmering, sparse back drop for the spirits to frolic to. While the second hints at the JOMF of yester year with a moaning trombone, a noodling blues-tinged guitar and the cries of a lone saxophone on the first track. And to close it all off, a dense, dreamy, endless mess of drones, moans, bells and such recorded in Italy. Released in conjunction with Tom Greenwoods U-Sound Archive, this LP is a one-time pressing of 1000 copies onto heavy 180 gram vinyl and enclosed in a custom gatefold jacket with four color printing, hand-screened right here in the great white North." - Uzu Audio. |

Artist: MESSENGER GIRLS TRIO Title: Excelsior Salon Trio Format: LP Label: Uzu Audio Country: USA Price: $20.00 |
| "Messenger Girls Trio, the Excelsior Salon Trio... comprised of Sir Richard Bishop (by appointment to her majesty-what the old broad did to deserve that, well never know) and David Knott (improvisationally board certified music therapist), in congress with Robert Millis and Jeffery Taylor (often known for their recreational duties in both Climax Golden Twins and AFCGT). The quartet last released a trio album in 2002 for the Anomalous Record label. Or perhaps the trio released a quartet album. After that Richard Bishop toured. Dave Knott put peoples minds back together or took them apart--it just depends on your point of view. Climax Golden Twins devoured 78rpm records and other Victrola Favorites. Meanwhile the quartet trio tape kept rolling-cassette players, digital devices, dictaphones, micro cassette, wire recorders, phonautographs, notes on paper. Edited from hours of material recorded between 2002 and 2008. Mostly improvised in living rooms and on front porches. Mostly in Seattle: on Goat Hill, at the Shabby Greenwood Grotto Studio and at the Sun City Girls cavernous Blue West headquarters, may it rest in pieces. Mostly with acoustic guitars and percussion. Occasional insects were wrangled into the proceedings. Layered. Sliced. Stretched. Messed, tweaked, poked, prodded, beaten and slipped luxuriously onto a vinyl platter for your listing enjoyment and listening pleasure by the epicureans at Uzu Audio. 545 copies of 180 gram vinyl, packaged in a custom made gatefold jacket, silkscreened, stamped, numbered." -Uzu |

Artist: SPIRAL JOY BAND Title: Pleasure Is The Headlight Format: Double LP Label: Uzu Audio Country: Canada Price: $31.00 |
| "Featuring two members of the most excellent Pelt, the Spiral Joy Band swells forth from Blacksburg, Virginia, with a follow up to their album Wake of the Dying Sun King on VHF Records. This double LP set features recordings from two eras of the Spiral Joy Band. The first is from 2005, the second 2007. A cacophony of gongs, bowls, bells, chimes, electronics, fiddle, bowed cymbals, esraj, harmonium, sruti and electronics played by Mikel Dimmik, Michael Gangloff, Amy Shea and Nathan Bowles, along with a guest or two, here and there. Pleasure Is The Headlight features 5 tracks in total spread over 4 sides. The first three being long trance inducing meditations recorded in Blacksburg and Ironto. The fourth side features unique recordings, the first is a solo wind chime performance recorded in a gift shop, featuring the murmur of confused patrons and what is likely some truly wonderful AM radio piped in over the stores stereo system. The second track is a slow hazy day at the beach, with gongs, seagulls, and the gentle roar of the ocean. Pressed on 180 gram black vinyl and limited to about 400 copies, this album comes in a custom gatefold jacket with letter pressed cover art and silk screened inside art." -Uzu Audio |
