Artist: HABIBIYYA, THE
Title: If Man But Knew+
Format: CDR
Label: Qasida
Country: Spain
Price: $16.50
"(Habibiyya were a ) buncha british rockers from the end of the 60s (some were in Mighty Baby) ... seems like they flipped out on sufic islam + cut a beautiful slice of eastern-influenced dronefloat for Island recs right at the start of the 70s ... well, i picked up the rec for 25p in a charity shop many moons ago, and its a real head-turner, lost classic, but not so many seem to know about it ... ANYWAYS, im only posting this because ive just found out that one of the guys in the band has made it available again on swish-looking CDR . I reckon a lot of you out there would really go for this, if you enjoy NNCK, jewelled antler, sunburned hand, sun city girls, hell even vibracathedral. Someone shd give this one the full reissue treatment some day, but until then, its nice that you can get yr hands on it if you want." - Neil Campbell. "Habibiyyas sole album stands as one of the earliest and most beautiful pieces of world music ever recorded in Britain. The musicians involved (including three members of UK underground legends Mighty Baby) had been profoundly affected, both musically and spiritually, by visiting Morocco in 1971, and became adherents of the Sufi faith. Upon their return to London they made If Man But Knew, featuring exotic instruments such as koto, shakuhachi and mandola alongside guitar, organ and drums, conjuring a hypnotic, otherworldly ambience in the process." Picked these up a year or two ago but were listing them for the first time.. Very nice full color printed artwork and CDRs, all signed by Ian Whiteman. Includes 3 unreleased tracks from the original recording session. Highly recommended!

Artist: A BAND
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $24.00
"Recorded over two days in late Summer 1991 at the Canning Factory, Nottingham, England. After a Live LP (on Siltbreeze, rec. 1990/91), a 7" and a self-released CD (rec. 91), Qbico proudly present the only studio rec. of this A-mazing Band. It features two young promising artists: Neil Campbell and Richard Youngs (now well-renowned master of sonic experiments), along with other brave and intrepid musicians which were part of a radical and unfortunately pretty obscure scene. As for the music, its very varied and it changes moods every few minutes (a tight editing by Richard Young, a l Faust tapes ): it ranges from collective freak-outs, surreal interludes, hypnotic drones, electronic motifs and strange experimental passages... thered be one word whichd give a better idea of the music on this special rocket: wild." - QBICO.

Artist: ABE/SABU TOYOZUMI OVERHANG PARTY, KAORU
Title: Senzei
Format: Double LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $40.00
Kaoru Abe: (alto sax). Sabu Toyozumi: (drums, percussion). Rec. February 25 and April 15 & 30, 1978 live at Gaya, Tokyo, Japan. Unrelease rec. available here for the 1st time after more then 25 years. "Long ago, when I started listening to free jazz records and was blowing on my alto, the abrasive sax sound of Kaoru Abe immediately fascinate me and he instantly became one of my hero... by then Id have NEVER imagined that one day Id have released an unissued record by him. This dream come true is now possible thanks to my dear friend Sabu, who discovered these very well recorded magical live sessions. Here, youd still hear Abe piercing sound (even if in this period he suffered terribly from physical and mental pain), few months before his tragic death for acute stomach rupture (official report, but his habit was known...). Unfortunately, he died too young, at 29 years old, on Sept. 9, 1978. His solo activity had been documented on at least more then 15 releases (between LP and CDs), but his collaborations had been less documented: three seminal releases in duo with guitarist Masayuki Takayanagi, another duo DLP with Sabu, a duo/trio from 1970/71, a duo LP with bassist Motoharu Yoshizawa and finally group playing with Derek Bailey and Milford Graves. So this new duo live sets are much more welcome. He was definitively one of the greatest improvisor from Japan and Sabu with his creative and powerful drumming, the ideal partner to let him freely express all his intense emotions. Raw energy, aggressive playing, heavy stuff." - QBICO.

"This is a music that i originally composed for a play called Alice in Nakedland. The play was some erotic expressionist nonsense, sort of like Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Caligaris Crime added together then divided by two. My script was used, but my music was rejected by the other staff members" - M. Kawabata.

Artist: BEAUSOLEIL, BOBBY
Title: Mantra
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $24.00
"A prison is a noisy place. The clanging of bells announcing the prison routine, the whir and ratcheting, banging and slamming of electric gates and mechanical metal doors, the ebb and flow of human vocalizations as hundreds of people caged against their will respond to their conditions in myriad ways -- to express their loneliness, or discontent, or rage, or insanity, or merely to cheer or boo a play in a football game on television -- punctuated by the shouts of guards who must enforce their authority to maintain what passes for order in such places. All of this and more is amplified within the confines of reverberant concrete walls, conspiring to make it difficult to find, much less preserve, ones peace of mind. I composed Mantra: soundscapes for meditation in response to several requests from some of my fellow prisoners. I was asked to create some gentle music that they could listen to on their personal cassette players as an aid in practicing meditation and relaxation techniques widely accepted as valuable tools in the process of healing mind, body and spirit. The challenge was to produce a musical composition that would help to mask the noise of the environment without being intrusive or demanding too much of the listeners attention, while incorporating combinations of tones and textures that may aid an individual in achieving a relaxed, meditative state of consciousness. By all reports, including my own experience, Mantra succeeds in its intended mission. As environmental music, it also seems to work well as a focusing agent when doing some types of creative work, or when reading, and to enhance the restfulness of sleep when set to play continuously through the night at low volume. You may find other uses for it as well. For all I know, it may help plants to grow more healthy, or soothe a teething baby. We are all doing time in one way or another, and the stresses of day to day life make it imperative that we find ways to generate harmony within ourselves from time to time. I hope that Mantra will serve you in this regard as well as it has served some of my friends in prison. Peace, Bobby BeauSoleil." - Qbico

Artist: CHURINGA CANARIES
Title: Untitled
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $24.00
Phil Legard, Alexander Neilson, Tirath Singh Nirmala, and Phil Todd. Recorded in Leeds, December 2005. Originally released as a CD-R limited to 100 copies. Collaborations can be a hell of a gamble. Fortunately, it seems that in the world of the underground music lover, collaborative ventures always seem to turn out to be synergetic exercises that yield amazing results. Churinga Canaries is such an endeavor: a one-off group effort improvised by four of the brightest lights in the UK underground music dog-and-pony show. A rundown of the participants should be more than enough to cause many of you to drool with excitement. Phil Legard (Xenis Emputae Travelling Band), Alex Neilson (Scatter, Richard Youngs collaborator, etc.), Tirath Singh Nirmala (formerly John Clyde-Evans of Hood) and Phil Todd (Ashtray Navigations) assembled in Leeds in chilly December 2005 to bang out some noise and melt the ice right out from under themselves with a warm bowl of sonic porridge. The results are two stunning long-form tracks of joyful jazz-inflected psych-noise in the vein of some of the wilder Ash Nav moments. Neilsons propulsive yet amazingly free drumming serves as the perfect background for the virtual maelstrom conjured up by the other three improvisers. About five minutes into the leading track, Under Heavy Rent, the sound is so dense and chaotic that its almost dizzying. The foursome manage to keep themselves and their sound from breaking apart into a million tiny pieces, but just barely. A Sovtek Swirl starts off subdued, with a recurring thematic element gluing the shards of our dumbstruck minds back together again. By the time the disc is finished however, youll be left panting in a useless heap on the floor. This is powerful stuff, not to be taken lightly. Dont say I didnt warn you!" - Byron Hayes (from July 2006 Review of the CD-R by Foxy Digitalis)

Artist: COOPER, MIKE
Title: Live At The Hint House
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $24.00
"Recorded in NYC, 2000. Live At The Hint House might be considered a field recording in as much as it is a recording of an ambience or soundscape. Made on my first ever trip to mainland America to play music this is the 2nd set of that evening, the 1st set had been an acoustic one of songs and slide guitar. At the start of the 2nd set I quickly realized that my guitar was not working and rather than stop and attempt to find out what was wrong I decided to just continue and improvise with what was at hand on the table in front of me. A Casio SK1 sampler keyboard, a Yamaha SU10 sampling unit with some pre-recorded samples loaded, a mini disc with some tropical ambience rec. from Malaysia and a pitch shifter delay pedal. I was not very happy with what happened that night and when Matt Zwed gave me two CD-Rs the next day I dont remember giving much attention to the 2nd set. Five years on, coincidently to the day as I write this, I realized he had captured more than me trying to get through the piece. It was me, the people in the room, the dog that ran around barking, the traffic sounds coming through the door that was open right behind me and a whole host of magically transported tropical birds and insects that suddenly found themselves reciting whatever it was in the loft space on the edge of Harlem, competing or colluding with all of the above to produce a piece of urban exotica." -Mike Cooper

Artist: COTTON MUSEUM
Title: No Face In The Bog
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $25.00
"Cows milk vinyl, artworks and music by Chris Pottinger, with insert. Side A originally released as a limited edition CD-R art set in 100 copies on Tasty Soil, Creature. B1 track is unreleased, recorded in 2007. B2 originally released in 2006 on Fag Tapes as a side of a tour cassette with Sick Llama. B3 was played as a loop for 8 months straight on a pirate radio station that broadcast out of the Cloud House on 107.9 FM. Far-out electronic music for the third millennium! The track on side A is side long and totally insane (dont know but I hear echoes of Kawabatas solo on Qbico #11, could be a new step/continuation?!), my amplifiers pointers never went so schizophrenic! Side B starts with a short electronic meditation thinned out by pure acid. The middle piece is long and it grows on you, deeper and deeper. This futuristic rocket ends with a mesmerizing short track that was broadcast as a loop on a pirate radio station for 8 consecutive months! All in tune: the cover, the vinyl color, the music AND the creatures! An exhibition (curated by Thurston Moore) of Chris Pottingers fine artwork was displayed at the latest No Fun Fest." -Qbico

Title: Amanita
Format: Double LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $43.00
"Practically impossible to make it brief here, H. Geerken: author, composer, musician, film-maker, performer, actor, mycologist, archivist, stager of exhibitions, publisher of numerous authors from the circle of literary expressionism and Dada, lumberjack, bumble-bee keeper. During his six-year stay in Egypt in the 60s, he co-founded (together with Salah Ragab and Edu Vizvari) the Cairo Jazz Band as well as the Cairo Free Jazz Ensemble, played in various music groups: Embryo, a trio with John Tchicai and Don Moye (extensive tour of Africa) and also with the Art Ensemble of Chicago. He worked with Sunny Murray, Don Cherry, Okay Termiz, Peter Kowald, Takehisa Kosugi, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Michael Ranta, etc. Today Geerken possesses one of the most comprehensive Sun Ra archives. His book Omniverse Sun Ra (1994) , which contains the first all-embracing discography of the musician, has meanwhile grown to be a priceless cult book. Together with James Wolf from the Library Of Congress in Washington D.C., he is editor of the recently published collected poems and philosophical works of Sun Ra (The Immeasurable Equation, 2005). This is Geerkens first-ever solo release (a major event indeed!) and it was recorded under the influence of magic mushrooms (dried amanita muscaria). One of the instruments played here is Sun Ras Sun harp (a Bulgarian bandura), which Sun Ra gave him in 1971 in Egypt, where Hartmut invited the Arkestra to play. They didnt get any money to fly back to the States, so Hartmut kindly borrowed them some bread for the trip back... in exchange, Sun Ra gave him his Sun harp (which youd hear on several Saturn LPs and which was one of the few instruments that Sun Ra played besides keyboards) saying Ill buy it back from you one day... which evidently never happened. The other string instrument played here is a swarmandal, which was given to him in 1976 in New Delhi by the renowned Dhrupad singers: the Dagar brothers. Probably the wildest Qbico ever... alien sounds!" -Qbico

"Sax player Steve Mackay blow with The Stooges on the legendary Fun House session in 1970 (and rejoined them in 2003 when they played their first show in 29 years at the Coachella Festival, and he has performed with them ever since + rec. two more albums)... nearly 25 years later he got involved w/Radon Ensemble, which includes members from such disparate groups such as Temple of Bon Matin & the Arthur Doyle EAE (Paternostro/Wilcox), Nimrod (Lohman), Koonda Holaa (Kamilsky), ect... the 10 tracks from his 3rd release as a leader. Musically speaking youre on a magic carpet for a wild ride: they rock hard and swing free with whimsical & powerful electronic touches... its really a unique ride in his genre!" - QBICO.

Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: USA
Price: $23.50
"New rocket by Muruga, after the Free Funk LP! This healing session opens and closes with two funk/jazz tracks, rec. by Muruga in trio & 4et with Ken Kozara on muted trumpet and Richard Smith on bass; Belita Woods, from P-Funk, is added on the last track of the album, May The Funk Be With You. The middle of the record is mostly perc. heavy and trance/ethnic oriented. Ascension had been written by the late master Baba Olatunji and had been rec. live @ The Spirit Drum Fest. w/special guest Badal Roy (who rec. w/Miles Davis, Ornette, Don Cherry, ect...) and Sikiru Adepoju (who rec. w/Mickey Hart, Olatunji, ect..). Nelson Ledges is a drums trio rec. live as well @ The Rhythm Fest in Ohio. Out of Nothing is a very special duo piece rec. w/Prem Das: here Muruga uses a unique Nada drum, while Prem Das (long years of apprenticeship in Mexico with a Huichol shaman and was also a colleague of Timothy Leary & Ralph Metzner) uses a water drum for a quite hypnotic effect ! Open your heart and let your body move... to the rhythm, to the groove!" - QBICO.

Artist: NEOKARMA JOOKLO OCTET
Title: Infinity
Format: Double LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $40.00
"This mind-blowing session was organized the day after the Qbico U-nite VIII which happened @ DobiaLab near Gorizia, Italy on Feb. 11, 2007. Neokarma started from an idea of David Vanzans vulcanic mind and with time, from a trio evolved into a 7et. Here they are with the complete line-up with special guests Giorgio Pacorig on Fender Rhodes and Makoto Kawabata on electric guitar. I had no doubt about the fact that Acid Mothers Temple Gurus would fit like a glove in this cosmic unit... nothing was planned... after three minutes David switched off the light and they are gone into deeeeeeep space... the void... the black hole... and I lived into the future. Their music reminds me a bit of Taj Mahal Travelers but of course with a new millennium feeling. I remember I played them TMT once in my place and they smiled and nodded their head... but they had never heard about TMT before. Virginia & Paolos wind instruments float, Andrea throws some aqueous meteors which he directly intercepts from other galaxies, Giorgio has some electricity, Makoto & Christian add some magical make-up, Maurizio adds that Eastern groove and David holds it all in his hands. For me, Neokarma is the most revolutionary, powerful and futuristic group that Italy has ever had." Pressed on light-blue marbled vinyl. - QBICO.

Recorded live Feb. 11, 1972 at the Royal Commonwealth Society, London, UK." "... Evan and Frank played a duo which was recorded by Frank on a primitive cassette recorder for a personal record. It has been decided that the improvisation was significant enough to warrant a release. Despite the unsophisticated recording equipment the quality was astoundingly good. Frank and Evan had met and played together as a duo only once a couple of years before as a blow." - F. Perry.

Title: Con 72
Format: LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $25.00
"Conrad Schnitzler was a central figure in the development of electronic and experimental music in Germany since the end of the 60s. In fact he was co-founder of the Zodiak Club in Berlin in 1968, where Agitation Free used to play intermedia shows, he also took part in the recording of Tangerine Dream 1st record Electronic Meditation (with Edgar Froese and Klaus Schulze). Then he recorded with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius as Kluster, two key records: Klopfzeichen and Kluster zwei-Osterei (after he left Moebius and Roedelius continue to record as Cluster). Founded the Eruption project, an open band for many musicians (including Manuel Gottsching), various secret performances (such the ones in the furnace room of his house in Berlin). The recording on Qbico LP pre-dates the legendary record Rot (rec. April 1973), which was part of the colored series records: Gelb, Grun, Blau, Schwarz. In fact in 1972 Schnitzler toured for the exhibition Scene 72 and in London he bought the recently born Synthie A (which was being produced near London) and gave a concert at the German Institute (he eventually bring back to Germany another Synthie A for the band Kraftwerk). The music from this concert is really raw and wild, with the instrument frequencies pushed to the limits (its much more close to the classic music of concrete masters, such as Xenakis, Parmegiani, Henry, Schaeffer, then to his cosmique electronic records, such as Rot for example). A mind-blowing performace from one of the greatest sound illusionist of all time." - QBICO.

Clear orange vinyl with white and red effects. Artwork by Ju Suk Reet Meate. "I used to buy and collect Smegma rockets when younger, so Im really happy to release an LP by this really far out band, especially since they played with my friend Perry, who is one of the most versatile musicians I had ever met! Smegma is a kind of cult mob in the US experimental underground, based in Portland, Oregon, they started back in the early 70s and got connections with the Los Angeles Free Music Society (Tom Recchion, Joe Potts, Le Forte Four, Airways, Doo-Dooettes, Ace Farren Ford and even The Residents); they also got an amazing label called Pigface... here they played some jazz for the year 3018." - Qbico.

Title: If Ocean Is Broken
Format: Double LP
Label: QBICO
Country: Italy
Price: $44.00
"Unreleased free jazz from Japan in its prime, recorded live in Tokyo in 1971. Mototeru Takagi already released two beautiful duo LPs back then with master Japanese drummers like Masahiko Togashi (Isolation) and Toshi Tsuchitori (Origination), so this last DLP is complete in a sense the set of duo recorded with the best, 1st generation, free music drummers from Japan. On the other side its complete also, the duo recorded by Sabu with the greatest reeds player from Japan (still of the 1st generation); being, his various duos with legendary Kaoru Abe, already documented on Qbico (Senzei) and elsewhere. About the music: raw and passionate = primitive beauty; both musicians are in top form and surely in their most creative period. Mr. Takagi plays tenor, soprano sax and bass clarinet, while Sabu is on drums and percussion. Original recordings were very well preserved (fortunately) and the pressing came out wonderful! Cover by qbico which Sabu can really dig, saying that En no Gyoja is deeply respected by him, he opened the way..." -Qbico

"I met these very young and promising fellas at the Qbico U-nite I did in Aarhus and to me this is the most exciting music coming out of Denmark right now, with Family Underground included, of course. Here they presented a very varied set, starting with some electronic trance inducing music by Marc Gade, to followed by an ad hoc baroque drunken marching band live from a Poland tour. Side B starts with another beautiful & melancholic all acoustic affair (mostly stringed) and ends with an improvised electro-acoustic number of magical and fragile beauty. Marc Gade one day was reading a Shirley Collins text where she explained that true love came from the root of an old Danish word: trulofa." - Qbico

Artist: NGOZI, PAUL
Title: The Ghetto
Format: CD
Label: QDK Media
Country: Germany
Price: $16.00
"Paul Ngozi ("Nogozi" means danger) with his band gave a popular voice to what later was called "Zamrock," a cool fusion of older African rhythms and 70s rockish underground modes -- never too polished, but with a tightness that might have made Anglo groups up in London sit up and take notice. The guitars are razor-sharp here, which sounds great next to the harder rhythms at the bottom, and the albums mix of English and Zambian lyrics. Paul Ngozi recorded at least 10 albums -- another one which is famous among collectors is Chrissy Zebby Tembo & Ngozi Family. You will love this one if you liked The Witch and Amanaz. Great album, great artwork, a masterpiece from Zambia." - QDK Media.

Title: Love, Peace & Poetry - Chilean Psychedelic Music
Format: LP
Label: QDK Media
Country: Germany
Price: $17.00
"LP glossy gatefold heavy sleeve; 180 gram pressing; transparent red vinyl, 62 minutes. The Love, Peace & Poetry series from QDK continues in Chile, with 17 tracks culled from some of the lost treasures of the psychedelic music scene of the 7-year period between 1967-1973. In 1973, the Chilean dictatorship banned most rock bands and most musicians had to stop or leave the country, or take it underground. The ban extended to the retroactive destruction of many master tapes for many of the albums included here, which only just stopped as recently as the 1980s. Kissing Spell represents with "Yellow Moon" taken from their 1970 album Los Pajaros, as well as Embrujo who released their self-titled LP in 1971. Los Jaivas debut LP was pressed privately in 1971 in a small edition of 500 copies, making this track extra-rare. Los Vidrios Quebrados were one of the real South American psychedelic classics -- their Byrds-like jangle-pop coming through clearly on their track. Aguaturbia were pioneers of psychedelic rock in Latin America, who also generated considerable controversy over their album covers. Los Blops released three now very rare and very sought-after LPs between 1970 and 1973, and their sound was focused on their guitarists electric 12-string guitar (an unusual instrument in Chile at the time). Sacros were among the first electric folk-rock bands to perform during Catholic mass -- their recording was almost destroyed by the military and only a handful of copies survived. Los Macs 1967 masterwork, Kaleidoscope Men, is rightfully considered by many collectors to be one of the finest examples of 60s psychedelia from South America and original copies are impossibly rare. Los Beat 4 was one of the most successful groups of the national scene in the mid-60s and both of their rare LPs are represented here. Tumulto was respected for being non-commercial, and their track is taken from their rare debut album. Escombros released their sole LP in 1970 and are a gem in the psychedelic progressive folk style. Congregación released their sole LP on the IRT label in 1972, and El Congressos sound is the result of a unique blend of contemporary elements and Andean roots. Chilean psychedelic music was produced during a time of great cultural change and social turmoil and is exceedingly rare and very special. "-QDK Media

Title: Love, Peace & Poetry - Turkish Psychedelic Music
Format: LP
Label: QDK Media
Country: Germany
Price: $17.00
"This is the ninth volume in the impressive Love, Peace & Poetry compilation series, following America, Latin America, Asia, UK, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and Africa. In Turkey, as the 1950s became the 1960s, just as in cities and towns across Britain and America, countless musical groups began to spring up as young people felt the pull of a growing youth movement. The music that would come from Turkey would blend European and Asian influences unique to that country and essential to the cultural synthesis of Turkish folk and Western rock music that emerged in 1967-1968. The great Delta blues players like Robert Johnson created music with one acoustic guitar in much the same way that traditional türkü arrangements were played originally on one saz (traditional Turkish instrument). If you consider the ways in which classic Delta blues songs were later given electric rock arrangements by musicians like John Mayall ,Eric Clapton ,The Rolling Stones and others you will have a fuller understanding of the Turkish rock/pop music of this era. Artists featured include: Mo?ollar (described as "Anadolu pop" or "Anatolian pop" -- the essence of the ancient and mystical soul of Turkish folk music; known as the "Turkish Pink Floyd"); Selda (politically-themed music, a transformation of traditional Turkish folk music and poetry into more contemporary rock-based music similar to the transformation of traditional folk-blues in the West); ?zdemir Erdo?an (well-known jazz guitarist, vocalist and arranger; his track was originally a well-known türkü by Asik Veysel , one of the most revered Turkish folk poets); Erkin Koray (the most psychedelic Turkish rocker ever, made his best recordings between 1970 and 1974 -- the song here was recorded in 1971 with his band, Erkin Koray Supergroup ). Edip Akbayram (a türkü arranger and singer -- one of the last examples of the best Turkish rock music of the 1960s-1970s, as there was a definite shift away from those traditions after the beginning of the 1980s). Cem Karaca (another important rock singer known for his political stance); ?ç Hürel (Turkish rock group formed in 1970 by three brothers; unique for designing their own instruments: drums created from traditional Turkish percussion instruments, a double-necked stringed creation that had an electric saz on one half and an electric guitar on the other); Bülent Ortaçgil (songwriter and singer who released his debut LP in1974, an album which has become a Turkish pop classic recently reissued on CD; Ortaçgil is unique because of the absence of Eastern influences in his music, sounding more Western as a result). As the smoke from the hookah rises around you and the intricate patterns in the finely-woven carpet open upon new worlds of meaning, breathe in the music deeply and enjoy." - QDK. CD also available.

Theyre obsessed with Joy Division, and because of an inescapable Xpressway filter, sound less Manchester and more like a Jefferies brother Peter and Graeme would rather people not find out about, and so have forced him to live in the attic deprived of voice lessons, friends and food. So you gotcher heavily melodic ode to the Roman stoic philosopher on one side, and your quieter, more seductive affair on the flip, a pledge of devotion to another mans wife. Why not?" - Quemada.

Title: Stoned Rehearsal
Format: LP
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"The Garbage and the Flowers have been around since the early nineties and have released some of the most beautifully delicate sounds ever pressed to vinyl. They just havent done it all that often. From their 1992 single on Twisted Village to their double LP on the Now Sound from 1997 to their Skulltones single in 2010, G&TF have casually offered us glimpses into their genius. Stoned Rehearsal is exactly what the name implies. Recorded in 2007 to an audience that consisted solely of two Rainforest Dingoes and a Tibetan terrier, Stoned Rehearsal finds our heroes and heroine relaxed and loose. And for those of us who live in another hemisphere, it gives us the best representation of the live G&TF live experience we’re likely to get. Stoned Rehearsal was originally released on cassette by the band but was barely heard out of Australia. Even if you found a copy, you may be one of those unfortunate souls with a tape that the band forgot to dub (gee, wonder how that happened). It is now presented to you lovingly re-mastered and on god’s preferred medium." - Quemada.

Price: $13.00
"Quemada Records is happy to announce the release of Kitchens Floor “Live in Brisbane” LP, the long awaited vinyl version of their “Too Dead To Notice” tape only release from the late Brendon Annesleys Negative Guest List Records. The record captures the band live in Brisbane (duh) in 2010 between the “Loneliness is a Dirty Mattress” (Bedroon Suck/RIP Society) and “Look Forward to Nothing” (Silbreeze) LPs and at a moment when the band was teetering on oblivion. This performance could easily have been the bands last and in fact was Julia Norris last stand behind the drum kit. The band was also without a bassist which left Kitchens Floor stripped down to main man Matt Kennedy, who had switched to acoustic guitar this evening, and Julia accompanied on a couple tunes by Andrew Mclellans (Cured Pink) stupor inducing organ. By all account the show shouldve been a disaster and maybe it was, but who the hell cares when the disaster sounds this perfect. And let us not forget: these are those moments when ROCK really happens, no matter what murk it must travel to get to your ears." - Quemada

Artist: LAKES
Title: Crossed With Leaves
Format: 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $6.50
"Lakes is the solo outlet for Sean Bailey’s not so cheery take on the world. Sean has been a constant in the Melbourne musical landscape for quite a while. In addition to running the Inverted Crux label he has played is such diverse group settings including, but not limited to, Paeces, Wasted Truth, Tax, and The (Australian) Vivian Girls. Lakes is Sean’s bleak punk, dark folk creature. There is no mistaking the Lakes signature sound, but those who have been following Lakes development over the course of 12 releases can attest that Sean has methodically built on to the gothic Lakes skeleton heard on the earliest releases to where we last heard from him on last year’s Winter’s Blade LP where the Lakes monster was given quite a bit of muscle in large part to a tweak in the recording process. This single picks up where Winter’s Blade left off with perhaps with an extra level of heavy and gloom applied to the structure." - Quemada

Artist: LOVE CHANTS
Title: Skirts of Rain
Format: LP
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"..debut 12"EP from Anthony Guerras new band Love Chants. Anthony runs the Black Petal label and is back in Australia after some time in Japan. Anyway, hes joined up with Michael Zulicki (Mad Nanna, Alberts Basement) and Matt Earle (XnobbqX, Breakdance the Dawn) for Love Chants. Really pretty stuff. And each one has a genuine one of a kind painting from Mr. Guerra affixed to the jacket." - Quemada.

Artist: MAD NANNA
Title: I Hit A Wall
Format: 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $7.00
"We have here the new 7inch single from Mad Nanna. Mad Nanna have quietly built up an impressive discography in a relatively short span with releases on Goaty, Eggy, Wormwood Grasshopper, and their own amazing Alberts Basement. The A side is an anthem for the ages (by Nanna standards). It lurches and stumbles, makes strides, waltzes and wobbles but manages to stay in a relatively straight line. The B side charges headlong through the muck and rides an early 90s Port Chalmers groove. Artwork is by one Antony Riddell, a Melbourne fixture, artist, author, member of the Weave Movement Theatre and one of the the mad geniuses responsible for the under-appreciated Volvox." - Quemada.

Artist: MOLE HOUSE
Title: Hey Come My Way
Format: 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $7.00
"Cant be more excited to bring you debut from Mole House. Get to know em now. The band is made up of members of Mad Nanna and White Woods (Night People, Bellplay) and sounds like an even mixing of those two bands. A bit more jangle and hook than your typical date with Mad Nanna, but a bit sloppier than a make-out session with White Woods. Prime bummer pop through and through." - Quemada.

Artist: ROACHCLIP
Title: Calmer in this Town
Format: 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"Quemada is happy to announce the release of a new single from Detroits Roachclip.-the long awaited follow up to their excellent first LP, Discovery Park of last year. On this seven inch the clip have retreated back into the murky garage from whence they were conceived and deliver two sides of primo paranoid psych rock. Imagine Kim Fowley and Bill Direen working out their bad vibes over an old Tascam in a mid-western basement. The flip pours on some sugar, albeit thick and syrupy-just like we like it." - Quemada.

Artist: SACRED PRODUCT
Title: Wastex
Format: Double 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $13.00
"We are thrilled to release “Wastex” a new EP from Sacred Product in the unfairly maligned double 7” format. Sacred Product is the solo workings of Lynton Denovan whom you may know was the main instigator of the Satanic Rockers (that “was” was hard to type). The Rockers released a mind melting single right here on Quemada as well as a mind melding long player last year on Black Greasy Basemen. What should the Satanic Rockers fan expect from Sacred Product. Nefarious joy and impious happiness, of course! Gloomy doom pop, guitar jams with swell maps moves, a mass transit travelogue haunted by the Instant Automatons, and some crispy Satanic grooves." - Quemada.

Artist: SATANIC ROCKERS
Title: Eviction
Format: 7"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $6.50
"Quemada Records is very thrilled to release the debut single from Melbourne sociopaths, the Satanic Rockers, who take our beloved warm blanket DIY and douse in heavy, vile satanic goop. Imagine Paul Leary taking over lead duties for the Instant Automatons or if Mad Nanna showed a bit more Sabbath muscle . Your daughters are not safe. Full length before too long on Alberts Basement/Sunshine and Grease/Black Petal/Own Time." - Quemada
