Artist: G-MODERN
Title: #10
Format: Mag
Label: G-Modern
Country: Japan
Price: $10.00
"Issue #10 from the Winter of 1995/6. This Japanese magazine focused on "Psychedelic, AVant-garde, Underground." G-Modern is the magazine put out by the head of the PSF label, Hideo Ikeezumi. The text is all in Japanese, but each issue is crammed with great photographs, weird artwork and ads, and lots of album reviews (the Japanese tradition of always reproducing every cover is helpful here). Theres a big emphasis on older, ultra obscure stuff, so theres always a few repros of covers youll definitely never see for the rest of your life. The accent is not only on the Tokyo underground as documented by PSF, but the entire history of worldwide psychedelic, avant-garde and underground music. Each issue is printed on nice book stock paper, in the 100 page range. For specialized interests, very specialized. #10 Features Han Bennink, Dagmar Andrtova, AMM, Beefheart, a lot of reviews etc. Japanese-text only." -G-Modern.

Artist: TONY, CARO & JOHN
Title: All On The First Day
Format: LP
Label: Gaarden
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"A reissue of the obscure yet classic psych folk gem All On The First Day by TONY CARO AND JOHN. Originally released in 1972, this album was somehow buried in the "stuff drawer" of time to be recently rediscovered by those inclined to look. The band was featured on the British Love Peace & Poetry LP and had Baltimore group Beach House cover their "Snowdon Song" on their debut album (re-titling it "Lovelier Girl"). Somewhere between the whimsy of The Incredible String Band and the stark beauty of Vashti Bunyan lie Tony Caro and John." -Gaarden

Title: Kimouchi
Format: LP
Label: Gagarin
Country: Germany
Price: $19.00
"Patric Catani started to make music very early, in his teenager age he used to program on his C64 Computer and used to rip the old arcade game music out of games. He continued to work on the home computer and made his first Hardcore/Techno Candie Hank is a grotesque entertainment show with no limit, a collision of Rock´n Roll, Moog influenced but harsh synthscapes breakcore but Belly Dance Punk and Gabba like Proto Pop. His debut LP Kimouchi just got released on Gagarin Records run by Felix Kubin who couldn´t deny to release the Candie Hank stuff and even called it a landmark. Candie Hank calls it Lubricant Sleazecore.Gabba record in the age of 16 in the year 1992 on his Amiga 500 computer." -Gagarin

Artist: HILLER, HOLGER & THOMAS FEHLMANN
Title: Wir Bauen Eine Stadt (We Build a Town)
Format: LP
Label: Gagarin
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
Interpreted by Holger Hiller and Thomas Fehlmann. "In 1930 the German composer Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) wrote a series of small pieces for school orchestras. It was described as a play for children depicting the construction and survey of a modern city. The unusual thing about it is the age of its inhabitants: In our city the grownups have no say... Our mayor is seven years old, and all uncles and aunties are children. Even the traffic warden is a child. We Build A Town comes across as strange in more than one way. Firstly, as a bizarre alternative blueprint to an elderly society. Secondly, as a combination of constructivist music and antiquated-modernist lyrics. These lyrics reflect traits of naïve belief in progress and open repression. Half a century after the original was created, two German artists with a punk and new wave background reinterpret the play and release it in 1981 as a cassette tape on Ata Tak, a label based in the German city of Düsseldorf. The classic orchestration of the original is replaced by synthesizer and manipulated voices. Apart from that, the original score is strictly adhered to. The use of electronic instruments and voice effects not only gives new life to the futuristic character of the pieces, but also subtly hints to its origins in the world of adults. Like the flame of a burning fuse leading to a bundle of explosives, the tape wanders through the childrens bodies and back into the heads of the grown-ups." - Gagarin.

Title: Historische Aufnahmen/Historical Recordings Vol.1
Format: LP
Label: Gagarin
Country: Germany
Price: $36.00
"With almost universal access to the internet and the rise of the online archive it may appear that the entire history of recorded sound is only a few mouse clicks away. However, the 2008 discovery in a Paris archive of a phonautograph recording of Au Clair de Lune from 1860 demonstrated that fragile treasures remain to be discovered by the dedicated explorer. Musician, composer and radio producer Felix Kubin has spent the last 5 years investigating, tracking down and collecting a stunning selection of hitherto neglected recordings from archives and private collections. With an eye for the antique curiosity, and an ear for the curious dusty beauty of abandoned transmissions from the past, he is now proud to present this first collection of historical recordings. The recordings presented here offer many and diverse pleasures from the analogue realm. Amongst the jewels offered are chronicles of eccentric machines, alleged occult occurrences on telephone exchanges, drunken whalers, marine plankton, music hall entertainers, Nazi attempts to play proto-synthesizers, uncategorizable oddities, and lost documents by originators of the avant-garde. This deluxe vinyl only edition is presented in lavish packaging including a booklet which contains an essay by Felix Kubin, extensive notes on each track and illustrations." -Gagarin

Artist: GALA DROP & BEN CHASNY
Title: Broda
Format: 12"
Label: Gala Drop
Country: Netherlands
Price: $16.00
"Working around their core unit of Afonso Simoes (drums), Guilherme Goncalves (electric guitar) and Nelson Gomes (synthesizers), here they find themselves cooperating for the first time with the wonderfully psychedelically vigorous bass playing of Rui Damaso (part of the legendary Loosers) and the topographically globetrotting ways of wayward adventurer conga orchestrator Jerry the Cat (formerly a part of Funkadelic/ Parliament and C.J. & Co touring bands; and later performed on records of Carl Craig, Recloose, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, and many others), both now members of the band. On Broda theyre joined by Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance, Comets On Fire, ETC!), truly one of the most powerful forces in US guitar soul in recent decades, and as terrific a six-string player as one of likely to find on record and onstage in this day and age, wherever that might be. Broda careers through in three passages of positively organized jamming. The fruits of a weeks very intense work on freedom and democracy in the collective artistic gesture revealed in only the slightest of documentarian restraints, so as to excuse us into peeking into this cosmology of friendship and externalization of the luminous." -Gala Drop.

Artist: GEORGE-EDWARDS GROUP
Title: Archives
Format: LP
Label: Galactic Zoo Disk/Drag City
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Drag City and Galactic Zoo Disks first turned the world on to The George-Edwards Group in 2009, with their never-exactly-released late 70s alien autumnal song-scape 38.38. Their music is singular and great, and like you, we assumed that was their one, definitive statement. Un-till...this new Archives release contains a treasure trove of bizarre riches spanning from the 38:38-era to what appears to be the mid-80s (well never know for sure -- and we dont have to, the stuff is sublimely wack in a manner that requires no further explanation). The music that makes Archives is a more rocking version of The George-Edwards sound. The tremulous, strangely timbered vocals are still their signature, but this time theyre atop a few highly compressed and fuzzed-out rock cuts, as well as several synthed-out dirges that would make Suicide, Bruce Haack or Cabaret Voltaire cock an ear (and make all these new coldwave bands blush to their shallow roots!). Also within are the murky analog keyboard bloops which all but define the GE sound, as well as ballads that make one wish there was an entirely different language to describe musical forms. Archives is the second miraculous LP from The George-Edwards Group archives that will keep your jaw agape for the rest of the year. What year? What year is it? Any year!" - Galactic Zoo DIsk/Drag City.

Title: Spur of the Moments
Format: LP
Label: Galactic Zoo Disk/Drag City
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Doncha just hate it when a majorly-touted obscurity or major find fancy reissue finally makes it into your hands, and it turns out to be nothing but sub-Hendrix acid-rawk jams, tuneless loner plink, some horn-addled overblown studio pomp, or simply just obscure-for-a-very-good reason? Or worse yet, its an album youve already heard, but you buy it again for a bunch of bonus material, which is nothing but lame garage rock covers? Well folks, relax -- you are in no such danger with the major unveiling of the soon-to-be-seminal Belleville, Illinois outfit Spur. Little did we all know that still lurking in southern Illinois (near St. Louis actually), was one of the most amazing secret bands that couldve given any 60s Sunset Strip band a serious run for its money. Even more shocking was the amount of beyond-spectacular unreleased tracks lingering in their vaults...stuff that will truly spin heads around. So we cherry-picked only the best material from their insanely rare micropressed LP Spur of the Moments to make room for the plethora of new-found bounty. For 60s psych enthusiasts, or really just fans of anything essentially rock n roll, there is a grove of treasures on this lone LP (boy was it hard to edit it all down to 40 minutes). The earliest Spur days, back when they were known (or really unknown) as The Unknowns, finds them in absolutely heartbreaking folk-garage mode, recalling the best of the Blue Things, The Choir, Beau Brummels or even ye olden Beatles. They evolved quickly into full-tilt west coast-style psychedelia, pouring on the fuzz with a laid-back tunefulness that certainly gives outfits like Quicksilver Messenger Service, Relatively Clean Rivers and Thee Dead some competition (indeed Spur opened for Jerry n crew in the day -- as well as Cream!). By the 70s Spur had expanded even further, at last answering the age-old question, What if Buffalo Springfield had hung in there and totally kicked ass by 1971? Gorgeous harmonies soaring above utterly driving guitars, amid heady studio trickery paints a picture not unlike the sainted pop of your Big Stars or Badfingers. So yeah, if youre a fan of bands that seemlessly and viscerally integrated country, rock, psychedelia, folk and really everything grand in R n R, a la the Byrds, Moby Grape or even the Flying Burrito Brothers, prepare to have your doors blown off by a band that will soon be regarded as esteemed contemporaries of all of them." -Galactic Zoo Disk/Drag City

Artist: TREVOR, RYAN
Title: Introducing: Ryan Trevor
Format: LP
Label: Galactic Zoo Disk/Drag City
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Wow...we cant seem to figure out the true story of Ryan Trevor - were not sure he even knows it! Is he an industry guy who pitched songs to Barry Manilow, wrote songs for Sesame Street, and roadied for infamous germaphobe Robin Trower? Is he a sensitive loner-folker who lived in England and all over the globe? Is he an ex-60s Indiana garage band kid who rocked in The Blue Glue? Or did he simply replace his friend Paul McCartney when he died in 1968? It just might be all of the above, though working closely with Trevor (well, as closely as we can get to New Zealand -- its about eight thousand miles away) has shed remarkably little light on the man - even his exhaustive autobiography ends in the early 70s, just before he started recording music! The usually in-depth Acid Archives has a mere one sentence listed about the man. Is this a conspiracy? What we do know is that he produced one incredibly rare and homespun pop LP in 1977, Introducing: Ryan Trevor. It may have been merely a demo for a never-materialized Warner Brothers album (though we question the veracity of this claim), or a definitive concept album statement (are there any non-concept albums that begin with an Overture)...but well let the music speak for itself. A privately-pressed bit of psych-pop perfection, Introducing: Ryan Trevor at last answers the question on ALL of our minds: What if R. Stevie Moore and Emitt Rhodes recorded an album with Joe Meeks ghost in the late 70s? Whatever the case, what you have in your hands is a near-exact repro of an insanely catchy song cycle of Macca-melodies, subverted by copious amounts of phase, fuzz, and a bedroom production ambience that would certainly make Bob Pollard, Ariel Pink or The Godz jealous. Drag City/Galactic Zoo Disk is proud to get this incredible rarity back into circulation, where it can soon after be filed next to your Rundgren and Brian Wilson records in the loner genius section." -Galactic Zoo Disk.

Artist: HURRAY
Title: Treasue Chest
Format: LP
Label: Galerie Paolo Bonzano
Country: Italy
Price: $13.00
"recorded between 2002 and 2005,  if "hurray hands" is the jazz album,  and "dreams not soft illusion" the minimal concrete album, then this would be the noisey folk album.  released in italy by galerie paolo bonzano & produced by cecilia canziani. "I think both possible cover images have good internal puzzles.  The stick drawing looks like a person trying to imagine or remember or depict nature from their desk -- some model of nature that uses bits of stuff from actual nature to make a map of some second faulty nature, or the thought of it.  So you could say this is a parallel to when we have these things (instruments, amps, band) to make music and instead make silence, or models of nature, or imitations of sparse conversation.  And the microphone stand looks like a modest flag or attempt at formal communication, but in a domestic setting instead of public, so it wont quite come across, and who can see what it was supposed to stand for. . .  Like making records for any public out of these things that are essentially private, obscure documents."  -hurray

Title: s/t
Format: CD
Label: Garden of Delights
Country: Germany
Price: $24.00
"1996 CD reissue of this German album, originally issued as a private press by the band in 1975. Named after a book by Clark Ashton Smith, the concept of pronouncing their name is an acquired taste. Much easier is listening to their music, and odd and primitive mixture of mid-70s underground styles. This CD is from master tapes, with 4 bonus tracks. "Ejwuusl Wessahqqan were a Munich band acquainted with Amon Düül II whose style is vary similar to theirs. Firmly structured songs were the exception amongst broad improvisations combining spontaneous musical ideas. A special characteristic of their style is the absence of vocals and guitar which was replaced by the self-made seven string filouphone. The highlight of the CD is the outstanding, highly psychedelic bonus track The Crystal by the follow-up band Koala-Bär." - Garden of Delights.

Title: Auf der Bahn zum Uranus
Format: LP
Label: Garden of Delights
Country: Germany
Price: $33.00
"The Saarland band Gäa played German-language progressive rock. Their band name derives from the ancient Greek gods, where Gaia (Latin notation: Gäa) is the goddess of the earth and fertility. The groups only LP, Auf der Bahn zum Uranus, was a short run released on the Kerston label in 1974 and is today sold at about 600 euros. It is a mature and well-balanced album, the artistic value of which long remained undiscovered. The tasteful cover was designed by Eduard Bell, the brother of Gäa bassist Peter Bell. There were several re-issues of the album -- LPs as well as CDs -- but unfortunately not all of them legitimate. The LP on Garden of Delights is provided with a four-page colored insert in LP size offering a detailed band history in German and English, complete discography, label repros, many photographs, and a Kerston story." -Garden Of Delights.

"A rather organ-oriented record -- the keyboardist being a real achiever. The work is characterized by its long instrumental passages. There is unfortunately a certain audible tape noise -- the studio then left a lot to be desired. The band was founded in Speyer on the Upper Rhine in 1969 and released only this single LP. In 1972 all of 200 copies were produced, half of which were destroyed during a fire in the music store Markus. The original in mint condition is today thus traded at about 2,000 euros. Therefore, the record is -- together with the Langsyne LP and the first edition of Cans Monster Movie -- one of the three most expensive collectors items in the field of Deutschrock. The new edition has been limited to 1,000 LPs. It is numbered individually, has been released in the original gatefold cover, and contains a four-page insert in LP size." - Garden of Delights.

Title: Talking To My Soul
Format: DVD
Label: Garden Of Delights
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
German TV recordings from 1970, taken from the stations masters. Xhol Caravan were from Wiesbaden.  "In the beginning of 1969 they emerged from Soul Caravan, their predecessors.  Xhol Caravans music was a peculiar mix of jazz and psychedelia.  In 1970 they shortened their name to Xhol as to not be confused with Caravan from England. In recording their pieces for SWF (a public radio and TV station from Baden-Baden) in 1970, they were filmed playing four long songs.  The colour TV had been introduced in Germany only three years before, in 1967.  Thus, light effects were used in abundance, especially psychedelic effects.  The atmosphere Xhol Caravan created with their music, psychedelic and fraught with drugs, there effects were just right." Colour, 4:3, all regions, PAL and NTSC (double-sided), approx 50 minutes. Comes in deluxe digipak and with 32-page booklet.

Artist: TRAD, GRAS OCH STENAR
Title: From Möja to Minneapolis
Format: DVD
Label: Gashud
Country: Sweden
Price: $26.00
"Träd Gräs och Stenar have their origin in the legendary Swedish psychedelic/experimental bands, Pärson Sound/International Harvester/Harvester who started playing in 1967. The band dissolved in 1972 but reunited in 1995, ready for new adventures and they never ever lost the spirit. They still rank as one of the most amazing contemporary psych bands worldwide. During 2002-2005, Mikael Högström and his video camera accompanied their gigs. As time went on, it turned into a little project. Mikael showed the band his latest clips and under their merciless eyes and ears, those clips slowly developed into this DVD. The amazing footage and sound documents the band performing in Sweden, USA and Russia. It also contains recordings from other cameras and sound recorders, including a few glimpses from the bands old 8mm movies -- an echo from the past. An amazing psychedelic journey in sounds and sights. Time 118 min., plus an extra bonus 3 min. 21 secs. with old film clips from 1970. 4:3; NTSC PCM; Stereo; Region: 0; DVD 9; Double Layer." - Gashud.

Artist: MANY BRIGHT THINGS
Title: Many Bright Friends
Format: LP
Label: Gates Of Dawn
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"The idea of the Supersession album dates back to 1968 with Al Koopers LP with Michael Bloomfield and Steve Stills. Fast forward thirty-seven years to the new album by Many Bright Things. It opens with the twenty-second title track, followed by the twenty-minute centerpiece: The Paul Butterfield Bands John Coltrane/Ravi Shankar-inspired masterpiece, East West. Across its twenty minutes and forty-four seconds no fewer that FIVE guitarists step into the center ring with solos that begin with Larry Demyer (Windopane) and include back-to-back fiery electric sermons by Nick Saloman (Bevis Frond) and Al Simones. The Silver Witch is written and performed by Alisha Sufit (Magic Carpet) accompanied by Frank DeFina on a beautiful Stephen Gilchrist F-5 mandolin. We think this song opens the second side of the vinyl as nicely as Within You Without You opened side two of Sgt. Pepper. Alishas voice reminds us of our dreams of angels. A tamboura drone and tabla accompaniment (by Paul Tescher) are the foundation for Minor Parade for 18 Strings and a duet between Stan Denskis acoustic 12-string Guild guitar and Paul Majors lead electric. Stan Denski & Larry Demyer play guitars, David Tufty Clough (Zero Boys) adds bass and Lon Paul (Marmoset) adds percussion, all of which form the ground upon which Jello Biafra (The Dead Kennedys) improvises observations on rare psychedelic music on I Am Not a Collector Potato! We guarantee youve never heard anything quite like this. The CD adds the ambient bonus track There Will Be a Slight Delay." - Gates Of Dawn. CD also available.

Title: GenCon Duets
Format: CD
Label: GD Stereo
Country: USA
Price: $26.00
"GenCon Duets is dedicated to a friendship etched in stone -- errr -- letter-pressed in paper. It is also an unusual musical collaboration between Gen Ken Montgomery and Conrad Schnitzler. A follow-up to their 1988 album CONGEN New Dramatic Electronic Music (Generations Unlimited), this is a different kind of electronic music. These recordings were made in 1996 with CONs contemplative 12 finger piano compositions and GENs everyday recordings. Besides a long pleasurable listen these recordings represent an examination of music, how we listen to it and what we hear, intended or not. The music of GenCon Duets is not a perfected formula or mathematical equation. It is the resonance of a moment, a series of moments that play out in time and space beyond the control of the artists and ultimately our control as listeners." - Geoff Dugan. "The audio CD is comprised of 7 untitled tracks: 58 minutes of music. The package includes 12 image cards, video stills of the artists from Trans Berlin-Brooklyn Exchange created by Guido Englich (1985) using a Mac Plus from the video On Their Way by Gregor Schnitzler (1985). The cake-box like container and image cards were designed by GEN, Ben Owen and GD. The entire package was letter-pressed at Middlepress, Brooklyn, New York in a limited edition of 300." -GD Stereo. 2010 release.

Artist: KORAY, ERKIN
Title: Tutkusu
Format: LP
Label: GDR
Country: Italy
Price: $34.00
"This 4th album by the man had never been reissued on vinyl before, so its good news we have for you. This ones from 1977, and though Erkin went strongly ethnic with his previous album 2, here he went back on his steps and made another brilliant psych-rock album obviously adorned again with some Turkish traditional music elements, though not as strongly as with Elektronik Türküler. Here he even sings some tracks in English, giving the whole album a more occidental appeal but losing near nothing of the incredible enchantment of Erkins best recordings! Limited reissue of 500 copies with the original artwork in a beautiful gatefold cover."- GDR

From the avant-pop masterpiece Open Field to the bossa nova of Post Ofiice, this is a playful album that bursts with creativity. This 41 track masterpiece is Maher Shalal Hash Bazs first new album since their legendary opus, Return Visit To Rock Mass -- one of the most collectable Japanese albums of all time." - Geographic.

"LP version, featuring an exclusive vinyl-only track. Full-color printed innersleeve; limited to 500 copies. The BioMechanica project marks the first collaboration between Francisco López and Arturo Lanz (founder and member of the current Esplendor Geométrico tandem) after thirty years of an ongoing relationship. Their debut album, BM-01, is the outcome of years of intense work in multiple cities across the world, from Beijing to Reykjavik all the way to Johannesburg. Raw power and original rhythms, together with an overwhelming sound complexity, a multi-channel spatial virtuality and a spectacular production come together in BioMechanica, synthesizing the insight and experience of two internationally acclaimed industrial/experimental music makers." -Geometrik.

Artist: CIDRON, JUAN MANUEL
Title: Patagon
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"Juan Manuel Cidrón, from Almeria (Andalusia), is a prominent Spanish synth-player who began playing in 1985. A veteran of analog electronic sounds, his early influences were the Berlin School of the 70s (Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, etc.) and American minimal music. Cidrón has released nine albums on his own label (Extraradio) with a very limited distribution. As a child, Cidrón fell in love with a radio that had flashing lights, as well as with the music that was broadcast through it. With the little money he had in his youth, he would spend it all on records and analog machines. His music is a celebration of life -- the immensity of his electronic keyboards offers listeners the immensity of the desert, snow, wind... records like Tau or Sonido Para Acciones belong to the imaginarium of Spanish electronic music and also to the imaginarium of lovers of sonic poetry and soaring music. This vinyl edition is special -- it is a return to analog, to which Cidrón is devout, and to which he will continue to be loyal. In this way, it is a classic, as is his continuous pledge to the quality that is the resounding conjunction between natural and artificial pulsation. The result is uniquely his: a material body that approaches the dream-world. Limited edition of 500 copies with printed inner sleeve." -Geometrik

Title: 1980-1981 Prehistoric Sounds - Necrosis en la Poya & More
Format: CD/3x7" Box Set
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $39.00

"Special deluxe edition, limited to 1,000 numbered copies in a hard cardboard box set which includes three 7" singles (each with its own sleeve), a CD in a slim cardboard sleeve, an 8-page booklet and a numbered card. It contains the first material recorded by Spanish cult legends Esplendor Geométrico between 1980 and 1981. One of the singles includes their first demo, recorded after their formation, with three tracks of industrial-minimal-techno-pop, among which is the well-known "Moscú Está Helado." This demo was sent in 1980 to the German label Ata Tak, run by Der Plan, who chose "Moscú..." for their legendary compilation Fix Planet!. The second single is a facsimile reissue of Necrosis en la Poya, originally released in 1981 and which already shows EGs shift towards harsher industrial rhythms. Finally, the third single includes four tracks recorded in 1981 soon after Necrosis... Three of them are previously-unreleased and were found recently on an old, lost reel tape. The CD includes the 10 tracks from the singles plus another five extra tracks from the same period, originally released on the cassette Esplendor Geométrico 1980-1981. The 8-page booklet features texts, designs and period photos. All tracks have been remastered and the artwork is by Juan Carlos Sastre, professional designer and founding member of EG." -Geometrik.

Title: Comisario De La Luz/Blanco De Fuerza
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"The second album by influential Spanish industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico, recorded in 1985, is now available again in its original format. After the first LP Héroe Del Trabajo? (1982) and a long period of little activity, E.G. reappeared in 1986 with Comisario De La Luz/Blanco De Fuerza. A record of obscure, rough and squeaky sounds in which they showed that, in spite of the elapsed time from the previous album, E.G. had their ideas clearer than never. Subsonic frequencies ("Comisario De La Luz II"), minimal rhythms ("Blanco De Fuerza II"), and even melodic lines congenially distorted ("Blanco De Fuerza III") certify a record which recovers the noise spirit from the beginnings of the band. Includes an exclusive inner sleeve. Limited, hand-numbered edition of 700." -Geometrik.

Title: Desarrollos Geometricos
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"Limited LP version. Desarrollos Geométricos (Geometric Developments) is the new album by influential Spanish cult legends Esplendor Geomerico. Recorded during 2010 and 2011, a few of the tracks on this release premiered at the bands performances in Europe. Esplendor Geométrico has developed a unique and personal style that has influenced many groups and is increasingly moving away from the clichés of Industrial Music. Arturo Lanz, who heads the group, thinks that they can no longer be labeled as "industrial." "Our music is deep, powerful, primitive and hypnotic, using electronic instruments and new technologies," he says. Desarrollos Geométricos follows in the steps of their previous album, 2009s impressive Pulsión, which was remixed on a 10" release by renowned musicians such as Frank Bretschneider and Atom TM. Repetitive and mechanic electronic rhythms are intermingled with recordings of voices, shouts, samples from traditional oriental music and percussions. Some tracks induce a kind of trance, and you wont be able to stop listening to them over and over again. Features 6 tracks, including 3 vinyl-only exclusives not on the CD." -Geometrik

Title: El Acero del Partido/Heroe del Trabajo
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"Limited vinyl reissue of the first LP from Spanish industrial band Esplendor Geométrico. An industrial classic originally released in 1982 on the Tic Tac label, Esplendor Geométricos sound was already devoid of aggressive lyrics and even titles for their tracks (the A-side, El Acero del Partidio, is spread across five tracks while the B-side, Héroe Del Trabajo, has three tracks). Their sound had already begun to acquire a personality of its own, not fully mature but with an astounding austerity nonetheless: repetitive litanies infected by impossible machine sounds, noisy buzzes, organized metallurgy and newscasts from Eastern Europe, that glare by moments. For many fans, this is the best Esplendor Geométrico album and remains an absolute classic. Limited to 700 numbered copies; includes the cover and insert of the original, incredibly rare first edition." - Geometrik.

Title: Kosmos Kino
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"Originally released in 1988, Kosmos Kino is the third album and a classic inside the discography of legendary and influential Spanish industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico. Now available again in its original format. After a start in which the line of acute distortions and buzzy basses of their previous albums continues, it follows a surprising rhythmic viscerality, reaching its peak on the track "Trybuna Robotnicza," suitable for the most frantic dance and one of the greatest moments in their vast discography. Though this is a live recording, the sound does not differ too much from their studio recordings (theres no claps or sign of human presence), and it could be considered as the stylistic bridge to their Mekano-Turbo LP. Original artwork and exclusive inner sleeve; numbered limited edition of 700 copies." -Geomtrik.

Title: Mekano-Turbo
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $20.00
"This is the fourth album and a classic inside the discography of legendary and influential Spanish industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico. Originally released in 1988, its now available again in its original format, reissued by Geometrik Records. Finally, the fury is unleashed in all its splendor. The superb three initial tracks are pure rhythmic adrenaline on which is supported the totally runaway voice of Arturo Lanz. "Rotor" would be even considered as an unintentional approximation to electronic body music, as would "Belew" and "Mekano-Turbo." On the other hand, Gabriels stay in Melilla, North Africa imparts an influence from Arabic culture on tracks such as "Sheikh" and "Transmisión." Considered by the media and many fans as the groups masterpiece, the wonderful cover continues the customary line of showing strange machines and decadent industrial buildings. Includes an inner sleeve with rare photos and text. Numbered edition of 500 copies." - Geometrik.

Title: Pulsión
Format: LP
Label: Geometrik
Country: Spain
Price: $29.00
"Pulsión is the new album of Esplendor Geometrico, the influential and acclaimed Spanish duo of survivors of the second Industrial wave on the early eighties. It includes six tracks (in the LP version) recorded between November 2008 and May 2009. Some have been already played in their last performances in Leipzig, Madrid and Barcelona with great success. Esplendor Geométricos style continues to have a unique and unmistakable mark that distinguishes them from later bands they have had an influence on. At first sight, Pulsión is pure Industrial hypnosis based on the electronic manipulation of sounds together with irresistible rhythms, repetitive, machine-like, industrial, hypnotic, sometimes tribal, sometimes danceable, that mix up voices and chants. Some of them are taken from traditional Arab and oriental musics (Mongolia, China,Tibet..) to be later electronically manipulated, others are simply speech fragments, as the one of a leader of a radical political party in Japan, Che Guevara, or an anti-occidental harangue from an Islamist leader. But the idea of EG is not to transmit any political or ideological message, the sources have been chosen for their strength and sonority. The LP Pulsion (limited 500 copies!) will contain 6 tracks: 4 from the CD version + 2 exclusive tracks: Metallum and Lamas." -- Geometrik

"One of the most significant bands to rise out of the Krautrock scene of the 1970s, the Munich-based musical collective Embryo has been led through the decades by multi-instrumentalist Christian Burchard. Although the groups sound has since become synonymous with world music, their second LP, 1971s Embryos Rache (Embryos Revenge) still found the band in acid jazz/prog territory, with some nice Hammond, mellotron playing by American expat Jimmy Jackson (Ray Charles and Amon Duul II), here billed as Tabarin Man, but the world music influences were already beginning to come to the fore, with heavy African percussion and eastern flute played by Xhol Caravan member Hansi Fischer, giving it a very different over all sound from their debut of the previous year, Opal. Title: You Used To Think
Format: LP
Label: Get Back
Country: Italy
Price: $16.50
"Recorded at the tail end of 1968, this densely packed album, rooted in blues-laden acid folk, is gradually dominated by a more free-form, jazz-influenced style of vocal innovation which brings the album to its frantic climax. While remaining firmly linked to a lyrical base, Pomerances primitive wails and shrieks shatter the traditional acid folk mold. Singing in French on The Slippery Morning, the versatile vocalist is also responsible for the rhythm guitar and hand drumming heard on the eastern influenced We Came Via. "Simply Saucer was Canadas first proto-punk band. Emerging in 1974 from the industrial city of Hamilton, Ontario, the quartet created a distinct and original sound that was decidedly out of step with the musical climate of the day...edgy rock & roll that was a combination of early 70s punk pre-cursors (Velvet Underground, Stooges, Modern Lovers), krautrock (ala Can, Neu, early Kraftwerk) and UK prog/psyche (Hawkind, Pink Fairies, Syd Barrett)...Although the only material released while the band existed was a two-song 45 rpm single, a 1974 recording session and a 1975 live set were collected together posthumously and released...in late 1989...Now long out of print, this newly re-mastered, expanded reissue is the first legitimate re-release of this material in more than a decade. Hailed as the best Canadian album of all time." -Get Back.

Price: $13.00
"ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO (OLD TIME RELIJUN and MALAIKAT DAN SINGA) offers a solid 20 minutes of abrasive and bizarre free form saxophone work over the distorted reception of a smooth jazz radio station. Confusing yet strangely honest feeling. The first half of the flip side features several short pieces recorded in the same era (some sounding like fragments of Old Time Relijun pieces, some more in-line with Arringtons solo work), with the second half pulled from his masterpiece, "Slow Dancin Under the Moon Tonight," about which he said: "...was recorded sometime in 2010 using Songsmith software. It is one of the most unlistenable and abrasively grating albums ever made by Arrington de Dionyso. Enjoy!" -Gilgongo.

Artist: HENRY, PIERRE/GEIR EGEL BERGJORD
Title: Pierre Henrys House Of Sounds
Format: Hardcover Book/CD
Label: Gilka
Country: Norway
Price: $52.00
"Since 1971, Pierre Henry has lived and worked in one of the remaining buildings in the Picpus area of Paris. Not only the composers workshop, a place to create music, his four storey house is a true museum of sounds, objects and assemblages put together by this genuine innovator. In addition, with the audience seated in separate rooms, the house occasionally serves as a venue for concerts generously conducted in his own home.
The book is a meeting between the camera of Bergjord, who seems to track the invisible through the object, and this oneiric world created by Henry in his house. The result creates its own imaginary structure, moving room by room, like a visit in the house, from macro close-ups to overviews. A seemingly endless flow of photos – accompanied by a CD with previously unreleased pieces by Henry." -Gilka.

Country: Belgium
Price: $23.00
"Its the point all earlier Axolotl releases have been aiming for, and achieved fleetingly, stretched out to fill 2 long tracks that satisfy my deep-soak mind like not much else since Wolfgang Voigt disappeared a few years back. But even better, wilder, warmer, more human - like the best ecstatic music, it drags you in and takes you there, but theres the option some days of being able to stand back and admire how its feet are mired in the dirty floor crash pad struggle to pay the rent and get laid and get the portastudio to work properly. Maybe if Wolfgang had wandered not into Köln club scene oblivion, but instead into the German forest his Gas records alluded to, spent a few months eating acorns and hunkering down on a bunch of strange strings, refracting the results through a primitive stack of looping equipment, real boombox tape-saturation mindset, he might have been hitting some similar spots. The Voigt things pertinent, as I know Karls a fan, and Ive been smitten too. Top of my head, Id say M:i:5s ⿿mikrofon⿝, Gass ⿿Pop⿝ and Alls ⿿Alltag⿝ are his apexes, but a few years ago the guy seemed to be effortlessly redefining music with almost every one of his many many releases. And if you can keep up with the Axolotl release schedule, you may be wondering if Karl isnt capable of working at the same level of easy invention. Different scene, but same balance between mundanity and quest for oblivion, same grace and speed of movement." - Neil Campbell. Thick layers of Hototogisu-like guitar drones interfere with endless tape loops and warm washes of analogue jungle color tone to work up to an overwhelming fuzz guitar climax, leaving listeners helpless, ecstatic, puzzled and bemused. Ernesto has been making music for three years now, has various solo as well as collaboration projects going on, has released a slew of amazing selfmade cdrs and has recently also become a full time member of Belgiums best: freefolk/krautrock outfit Silvester Anfang, whove got an LP coming out on Eclipse later this month. A promising new star in the psych drone skies." -Gipsy Sphinx.

Title: Nordic Visions
Format: LP
Label: Gipsy Sphinx
Country: Belgium
Price: $18.00
"While Wooden Wand and Satya Sai jammed with the Sky High Band in beautiful California, the Vanishing Voice dug in deep in the frozen northeast. Snowed in with utopian texts and mounting paranoia, Steven the Harvester, Heidi White Diamond Diehl, and Pete Wolfy Nolan joined Nonhorse in an abandoned textile factory, boiling out these ballads of suspended disbelief and hope for the better world." - Vanishing Voice. Limited to 525 copies.

Title: Summer Wanderer
Format: LP
Label: Gipsy Sphinx
Country: Belgium
Price: $21.00
"An acapella record, written, sung and recorded by Richard Youngs in Scotland, September 2004. First only available from Richard as a gift for friends, the album was later released on his No Fans imprint in a micro edition of a couple dozens of cdrs. Now, three years after being recorded, this stunning album sees the light of day on thick, heavyweight vinyl. Think of the ambiance Richard evokes consistently throughout his solo output. Cut off the strings, the drones and all other skillfully arranged overweight and trickle that feeling down to its core essence. The name of Richards gift is Summer Wanderer, its beauty timeless. One-time limited edition of 525 copies pressed on heavy 180g vinyl, housed in thick handnumbered paste-on sleeves." -Gipsy Sphinx. A few more copies of this 2007 release.

"(Gipsy Sphinxs) third release is a full LP (+/-40min) from Marcia Bassetts solo project Zaïmph. Marcia is well known for her leading role in freefolk/improv groups such as Double Leopards and GHQ, as well as for her groundbreaking work with free guitar/flesh metal duo Hototogisu. With her solo project Zaïmph she starts off from the base these groups laid out and takes things to another level, shredding boundaries between dark noise, drone and psych music. Its deeply meditative yet darkly disturbing and emotionally touching music. The LP, Zaïmphs vinyl debut, is pressed in a one-time edition of 525 copies on 180g vinyl with paste-on artwork on thick black jackets, full color 2-sided art paper insert, resealable plastic sleeve; etc.." - Gipsy Sphinx.

Artist: GLISSANDO
Title: The World Without Us
Format: LP
Label: Gizeh
Country: UK
Price: $25.00
"LP version. Limited, hand-numbered edition of 300 copies. Glissando return with a second record for Gizeh Records. This material bares Glissandos trademark of ethereal voices and tip-toeing piano melodies, but the overall sound is richer and more expansive. Epic swells of strings and guitars soar above the drones and field recordings to create an intense yet fragile noise. The dynamics of the new record are also apparent and through the use of an array of guests there is a new depth and ambition to Glissando that portrays the songs in their truest form. The World Without Us moves slowly between dark shadows and into more hopeful territory throughout -- its not afraid to be silent when the moment arrives but its also capable of enormous, echoing, choral and string crescendos in one subtle movement. Since Glissandos debut in 2008, Elly May Irving and Richard Knox have experimented with countless different live set-ups and members ranging from simple, more immediate shows as a duo through to a seven-piece group. Never tied to a specific ideal of how to play the material, it enabled the group to tour heavily for a couple of years in the UK and Europe while recording a follow-up album, but inevitably this process took it toll. In May 2012 Irving and Knox finally completed the record they had been tentatively working on for four years and the final stages came together relatively quickly. Knox produced and pre-mixed the record in his own Cloud Blunt Moon studio in Leeds before heading to Paris to complete the final mixing session with Frederic D. Oberland at his Magnum Diva studio. The material on The World Without Us stretches back the full four years with the likes of "The Long Lost" and "Of Silence," which were previously featured on a highly limited edition, double-A-side single. The title-track is also an older song which has been morphed and reworked over the years. The duo knew these songs were too strong to leave off the record and pushed to find ways of hitting the same standard with the newer tracks like "Companion" which is almost Scott Walker-esque in the vocal delivery, marking a dynamic change in the way Irving is using her voice. Mastered by Nils Frahm. Guest musicians: Angela Chan (The Rustle Of The Stars/A-Sun Amissa), Frederic D. Oberland (FareWell Poetry/The Rustle of the Stars), Aaron Martin, Paul Elam (Fieldhead), Lidwine, Tim Hay and Alastair Hay (Tomorrow We Sail)." - Gizeh.

"Wunderkind production, created in a whirlwind of laboratory activity in early September, 06. Material is object, as our two experimental scientists submit paper to a number of inventive processes: steaming, crushing, inking, tearing, wetting, etc. The results are here collected in a series of beautiful ditigal prints that are immediate and yet obscure, good for a breezey stroll or intensive investigation alike. 8 pages, 5x6.75in, w/ hand-sewn binding. Title: My Time/Daily Life
Format: 7" Flexi-Disc
Label: Glass Coffin
Country: USA
Price: $6.50
"Daily Life are a two piece from Providence, RI. After several tapes on Unskilled Labor, the band (CF- vox/synth, Sakiko Mori - synth) decided to enter the studio with Jeff Zeigler (Philly studio wizard) and emerged with a sugar glazed classic of monstrous icy proportions. "Necessary and Pathetic" sketches out a sputtering romantic vision replete with horny armies emerging from the darkness set to a lush trash strewn landscape equipped with sputtering drumbot rhythms. Croon power is set to 10 to ensure moist thongs. Vocals bring forth stories of aimless midnight wanderers, smarting from discipline, and lustful pilgrim rituals with the hard sting of the sunrise. This is not a lo-fidelity stab at synth-pop but a fully formed set of songs executed with maximum vision. After all the buildings fall and the survivors are wandering the wasteland scrounging for dogfood, there will be few truths, but do realize this: the few things of beauty and grandeur, such as Daily Lifes "Necessary Pathetic" will exist to instruct the human dog pack to a greater destiny. Stock the shelter with at least one copy." - Load write-up for "Necessary Pathetic". "..flexi features a different, earlier version of "My Time" than the "Necessary And Pathetic" LP version. The song "Daily Life" is previously unreleased. Pressing of 300 on clear vinyl." - Glass Coffin.

Title: Little Lord Shiva
Format: Book

Country: USA
Price: $13.50
"Charles Potts has been a cyclonic poetry force for 35 years. As a writer, editor, publisher and polemicist he has hit many high points over that time, but few people have had access to some of his highest moments, those achieved in Berkeley, CA in the late 1960s. Originally published in an edition of 475 copies by Richard Krech and John Oliver Simons Noh Directions Press, Little Lord Shiva is one of the eras defining documents of personal and social apocalypse. Half of the text presented here is a straight reprise of Shivas hard-hitting poetic critique of the underground, the other half is contemporary material that was unavailable to Noh Directions at the time. Combined at last, these two halves form a most perfect union; one instilled equally with dread for the dawn of the Age of Nixon, and acceptance of the cracked visionary beauty that resulted from attempts to dodge societys bullets." - Glass Eye. "An audio documentation of this electronics-and-tape artists coming to terms with the death of his father. The LP documents a performance JASON LESCALEET gave after discovering his father had terminal cancer; its floor-rattling flux of abrasive, low tones invokes the purr of a Chevys engine Lescalleets father discusses in a letter reproduced on the record jacket. A snippet of the final conversation he had with his father is buried in a heat-haze of tape hiss and air conditioner hum. The CD further extrapolates on Lescalleets fathers email; its 74 minutes move from dreamlike bell tones, through abraded, metallic hum, escalating into fierce, brutalizing waves of noise which then cut to a recording of Lescalleets daughter singing the Irish folk song "Molly Malone" at her grandfathers request. The book in which the CD is mounted has plenty more text and images. If you arent staggered by The Pilgrim, theres something wrong with you."

Title: leave/trace
Format: LP
Label: Glistening Examples
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"Glistening Examples is proud to present “leave/trace," the vinyl debut of Grisha Shakhnes. Formerly operating under the name of Mites, Shakhnes has been recording and performing in Tel Avi, Israel since 2008. His work has been issued both privately in limited handmade CD-R editions, and internationally though Alamut Records (Jerusalem), Mystery Sea (Belgium), and Copy For Your Records (NYC). Consider "leave/trace" a graduation ceremony, as Shakhnes steps away from pseudonymity and into the bright lights of his own exceptional music. "leave/trace" offers a compelling display of musical abstraction, blending field recordings from peculiar and mundane origins into sumptuously detailed and surreally original new forms. Shakhnes is deftly able to capture and juxtapose otherwise overlooked details of commonplace events, placing his work at the fulcrum of contemporary tape music. Never overly literal, "leave/trace" instead allows the listener to find their own way through its compositions, granting rich reward for those willing to make the journey. “leave/trace” is a beautiful LP, published in an edition of 500 copies." -Glistening Examples. "This is unquestionably Grishas most convincing statement to date, and one which cements him in the frontline of artists to watch as the year unfolds. A fabulous LP." -Graham Lambkin, KYE Records.

Artist: HIGGS, DANIEL
Title: The Measure of Mystery
Format: Cass
Label: Gnomelife
Country: USA
Price: $8.00
"The Measure of Mystery" was recorded (by Fletcher Tucker of Bird By Snow & Yurt) on cassette tape in Big Sur, California in the late night hours when the 29th of October was gradually becoming the 30th (2011). Song flowed forth from Source in a circular redwood room perched just above a waterfall, which itself flows steadily toward its own source (the Pacific Ocean). You may observe the sounds of both ocean and river on these recordings...and a closer listen may also reward you with the sounds of starlight, mycelium growth, molecular revolution, and an untold number of cosmic musics. This tape is a 45 minute magnetic fossilization of Daniel Higgs energy field. It is divided between three tracks of epic proportion: a revelational instrumental banjo improvisation, an entheogenic song performed on banjo and larynx, and an ecstatic mythopoetic recitation. Fans of Daniels previous albums are surely aware that an exceptional recording of "Say God" already exists, this new incarnation however is nearly twice as long with over 100 verses! Truly an awesome artifact, offered to you in the hope that it will inspire awe. Photcard by Fumie Ishii. This volume of Echomancy is represented by the symbol for the planet Mercury." - Gnomelife.

Price: $13.00
"FEATHERS are an eight-piece collective musical ensemble, currently based between Northampton, Massachusetts and Brattleboro, Vermont. Formed in 2003, the band features five primary songwriters, each with a unique style, and four singers. All eight musicians switch around on numerous instruments, loosely playing what can be described as psychedelic folk. Their debut album, now issued on CD for the first time via Gnomonsong, features simple strummed guitars, delightfully sweet harmonies, lysergic electric guitar, and tribal drumming, with a swirly folk vibe throughout. The group seems to draw inspiration from the same magical, natural forest elements that motivated Incredible String Band and Comus to release their own classic music in decades past. Yes, songs about forest creatures and loving the moon are contained herein." - Gnomonsong.

Artist: HURLEY, MICHAEL
Title: Ida Con Snock
Format: LP
Label: Gnomonsong
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Michael Hurley is one of the last remaining ramblin American folk troubadours. Hobo-ing around the country, making music since the days Bob Dylan first set foot in New York Citys Gaslight club, Hurley recorded his first album for Moses Ashs legendary Folkways label in 1964 and continued to release albums for both Warner Brothers and Rounder. His mid-70s Have Moicy album was among the top ten for the decade selected by Rolling Stone magazine. While many of his contemporaries are long past their prime (or deceased), Hurleys muse is still intact. Hurleys songwriting talent hasnt gone unnoticed by a new generation of musicians. In recent years, he was invited to tour with alt-country heroes Son Volt and Lucinda Williams. Hes also shared bills with Smog and Palace Brothers, played with the Giant Sand rhythm section, and has of course appeared with (and been covered by) Vetiver and appeared on their records. His songs have also been covered by indie stars Cat Power and Yo La Tengo, among others. So, the matter at hand, a new album of recordings sung and played by Hurley, backed by Ida, appropriately titled Ida Con Snock: Snock himself marvels at this 21st studio album, recorded at Levon Helms studio in Woodstock, NY. Idas less-is-more finesse shines on these rich recordings, melding perfectly with Hurleys playing and singing. Many of these songs are already well familiar to Hurleys devotees. There are seven originals and five loving covers of 50s rock n roll, C&W, and vintage folk, each tune capturing Hurley and band at peak performance levels." -Gnomonsong

Smegma and Kommissar Hjuler und Mama Baers long-standing shared interest in mutilating neo-con philistinism take on very different forms; while Smegma indulge in the aural vacuum of radio randos and FX ooze, K. Hjuler & M. Baer blast Hugo Balls voluble word play into the 21st century. On this tape, however, we find both bands almost making actual music; laying down some rhythmic infrastructure and arranging their weirdness accordingly. "Cameron Stallones and Nick Malkin seem two sides of the same moebius strip. As Sun Araw, they take pride in an almost ascetic game of self-restraint; honing rhythms, programming synthesizers, and modulating a long chain of effects until they hit a perfect, balanced and restrained groove. Sohni Chambers, a side project in the truest sense of the word, finds an official release for pent up musical energies. As the title suggests, Stallones and Malkin are still traversing the same semiotic badlands, where pop culture signifiers are recontextualized with a dopey fineness and humor. But here Stallones and Malkin have a rougher and more honest program and the outcome drips with an unprecedented consecration. The rhythms hit harder, organ exercises swirl endlessly in a Dionysian blaze of primordial oneness. Ya they might induce the sort of meditation weve come to expect from Stallones and his cohorts, but the genuine focus of these works lies in a sort of fetishized materiality: its just a Galaxie 8180 electronic organ and a five-piece drumset—odd timbres, distortions, broken keys, buzzing echoes and all. A dialogue vocal howls that flits in and out concretizes the intimacy of this musical space; while Stallones and Malkin are indeed wizards of levitated, shamanistic, and disembodied musical realities, here we see them straight on; two bros just letting shit out, warts and all." -Goaty

"Eric Copelands Alien In A Garbage Dump 12" represents part one of the forthcoming album from the increasingly prolific member of Black Dice. Taking off where his last record, Hermaphrodite, left off, these seven jams are steeped in modern media overload; dense, often fragmented blasts of ideas and sounds, representative of a half hour of prime-time television (or something like that). But rather than contributing to this problem (pissing in the ocean), Erics black humor teases and criticizes the American stimuli machine in which we all participate; a house of mirrors perspective where all is familiarly skewed, humorous but misleading, disorienting and searching. This is over-loaded, over-processed, over-dosed music thats rooted in the public sounds, but somehow a giant leap from any fashion dominating the public mind. A repeat listener for sure...Its a musical creation from an Earthling to our peers in the Universe." - Paw Tracks. Very limited CDR edition of the Paw Tracks 12" ep. Beautiful, hand-assembled/painted hardbound book-like covers.

Title: Recalcitrants
Format: LP
Label: Gods of Tundra
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"Debut full lenght LP by Lexingtons finest sound creater/destroyer. After a handful of tape releases on Ides, Rampart, Heavy Tapes, and Gods of Tundra, Carson pulls out by far his most complete and excellent work to date. Carsons work can be as complex as the person whos creating it. Here we have 2 distinct side long pieces. Side A depicts a battle between organic clang/scrape and piercing ruined electronics. Each faction ponies up with total trance like, but not very calming, moves. By the end youll have just walked through a weird fucking fight, and time will not really matter anymore. And thats only side A. Side B removes the organics and goes straight for the brain with sharp shocks and tones. Its not harsh, its not calming, its not drone...its just total deep fried electronics. Edition of 300, clear vinyl." - Gods Of Tundra.

Title: Private Live
Format: LP
Label: Gods of Tundra
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Red vinyl, edition of 300. One night last winter, Dead Machines and The Haunting performed a gig where the sole audience was the other band (and not cause no one showed up..no one else was invitied). This split LP is a document of this cold night of Distant Sound. Dead Machines began the night with possibly their strangest, most obscure set to date. The two players are Sound and No Sound. More accurately: what I have always thought the sound of a dying machine would be. The Hauntings set is equally as slow. Haze fades in and out. Talk about living rooms and fields and things that are far. Haunting gigs are very few and far inbetween and this happens to be their first. We all felt kinda weird afterwords, but it also totally ruled. Like we all had sex or something. Ewww." - Gods Of Tundra.

"A very unique release for both FFH and Gods of Tundra. After discovering both of us shared an interest and obsession with the Irish Republican Army and the conflicts and Troubles in Northern Ireland, we decided working together on a project based on this would be worth while. This 7" is the result. It is the most superior FFH offensive to date. Superior in sound, in lyrics, and in ideas. Artistically, it looks very little or nothing like any other GOT release, but all these things just add to the unique quality of the record. 26 +6 = 1. Editon of 250." - Gods of Tundra.

Recorded in 2001 and not released until this very day, these veterans of total NOISE churn out some serious mind and body damage. Both gentelemen take a side to destroy the others sound, and in doing so create a full flowing LP of 100% pure old school fucking insanity. Title: Foucault Zombie
Format: LP
Label: Gods of Tundra
Country: USA
Price: $13.00
"100% pure psychedelic dementia from the man who is half responsible for both the greatest noise LP and interview of all time. But for those thinking this LP is gonna be full on slug to the gut rumble and tumble of Macro, you can toss your expectations aside. Rodger instead lays down some serioulsy bizzare and warped sounds to create a dizzying record..one that cannot be fully appreciated or understood with just one listen. Each side long track builds, destroys, builds again, then falls into a black hole of incredibly strange sound. Each listen will result in a new point of focus, and each time you still wont know what to think. Everyone who was at No Fun 07 knows that Rodgers true set was him just being there for 4 days..and im very convinced that this is what he heard in his head the whole time." -Gods of Tundra.

"Reissue of AM71. Back in the day, UI (and duo-era Wolf) to me, always represented Michigan sound. And this tape is exactly what makes UI such a legendary and great band. This is the classick line up of Big Juh, GG, and Dillo the Killo...and is an absolute headfuck from start to finish. Warped shots of something that sounds like band, constantly moving into interesting passages and never staying to long before its time to get to another tripped out tape warble underwater with 3 layers of 3 UI shows on top of each other...or something close to that. Fully Michigan. A perfect tape." - Gods of Tundra.

"Bridget has started playing songs of late and theyve turned out to be beautiful clumps of carefully executed guitar dirge with haunting vocals. THIS monster of a disc, though, was recorded right before she got into that zone and its an improvised blast of buckshot, right to the face. It was recorded at a show in Manchester that she opened for Marcia Bassett and it shares much in common with the latter. If youve heard those Hototogisu records, then think along those lines. Artist: NEPTUNE
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Golden Lab
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"From Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts with a gnarled, home-made clatter and drone comes Neptune. Part sculptural art metallurgy project, part rock band (no, scratch that -- ALL rock band), the three-piece formed initially to demonstrate, in an art gallery setting, the awesome crunk of band leader Jason Sandfords home-sculpted scrap metal instruments. Two world tours and one blistering album later, theyre now set to release two new full-lengths on Table of the Elements (home to their heroes Faust, Tony Conrad and John Cale, amongst others). But not before this, the first recorded fruits of their unrelenting instinct for improvisation. The album, featuring five tracks and running at a fraction over forty minutes in length, was recorded in collaboration with their friends Jessica Rylan (Cant/Vampire Cant), Donna Parker and Kevin Micka. Reminiscent of 70s/80s experimental post-prog innovators This Heat, the home-made electronics, found sounds and scrap metal are forged to create a familiar brand of searing, soaring, seething rock, played with virtuosity and gusto, yet with a sense of individuality inescapable in the shadow of the instruments creation. With beautiful floral packaging designed by celebrated sleeve/poster artist and NME cartoonist Dave Bailey, and pressed on beautifully putrid orange and brown marbled vinyl, this improvised masterpiece is surely a contender for most collectible record of 2007. Ltd to 525 copies on orange/brown marbled vinyl." -Golden Lab

Label: Golden Pavillion
Country: Portugal
Price: $32.00
"Completely unknown Portuguese LP from 1973 that sounds like a cross between Peruvian psych such as Laghonia & Traffic Sound, and a UK lost gem on Harvest or Deram, with 2 great vocalists, seering guitar lines flowing in harmony with a superb groove. This reissue is the second in the Golden Pavilion series, fully licensed, done in association with Acalanto and limited to 400 copies." -Golden Pavillion

Artist: PANTA REI
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Golden Pavillion
Country: Portugal
Price: $32.00
"Panta Rei is attributed to Heraticlus thoughts about change, meaning everything flows in ancient Greek. And this is exactly what you get from this album. Originally issued on the Harvest label in 1973, this is a wonderful stream of trippy, heavy, Swedish prog with an intensely groovy jazz-rock and fuzz oriented approach that comes close to Frank Zappa circa Hot Rats, with some spacey, freaked-out atmospheres and an underlying Canterbury feel. The guitar work is predominant and menacing, whereas the all-English lyrics and the rich musical texture that feeds on layers of flutes, maracas, timbales, harmonica and impressive percussion, make for a truly majestic album. Exact reissue fully licensed directly by EMI Sweden. Limited to 600 copies in black vinyl." -Golden Pavillion

"After 34 years, this lost gem of Austrian psych folk is finally reissued! This is most likely the RAREST Austrian LP, and one of the most elusive records ever. The music is honest and spontaneous, crossing paths between fragile folk and psychedelic dark undertones with a touch of glam, expressive lyrics and fleeting guitar lines. The 300 copies privately pressed in 1976 were sold at concerts or handed to friends and familiars. This reissue is fully licensed, limited to 400 copies in black vinyl. A must for all psych-folk lovers." -Golden Pavillion

Musically we are in the same vein as Cagibi: A delicate fragile westcoast-tinged psych-folk with acoustic/electric backing & amazing vocals, very close in sound and style to Neil Young in his After The Gold Rush period. Every track is excellent with one side sung in English and the other in French. Originally released as a private pressing of 200 units. This is a fully licensed exact reissue limited to just 300 copies on black vinyl." -Golden Pavillion

Price: $32.00
"A mythical Magma album recorded in 1971, during the 1001 Centigrades period. The album aims at introducing wider audiences to the zeuhl feel, with a less hermetic sound, favoring a groovier jazz-rock approach. Features the vocalist of Ergo Sum on one track as well as Tito Puentes on trumpet; otherwise this is pretty much the same line-up as in their previous album. A few dreamy moments with acoustic guitar and flutes (the track Clementine), and other typically dense moments with pulsating bass lines, mad sax and weird Vander screams punctuated by furious drumming with a groovy edge. Fully-licensed, exact reissue in gatefold cover and 180 gram vinyl. Limited to 600 copies in black vinyl." -Golden Pavillion

Artist: WILCOX SULLIVAN WILCOX
Title: An Album Of Original Music
Format: CD
Label: Goldust
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"This is an album of private press original music by New Mexico male/female trio Michael Sullivan, Judy Wilcox, and Dennis Wilcox, from 1973. Folky psychedelic rock with lush male-female harmonies. Bright and brilliantly textured acoustic guitar work throughout. Rocks at times, goes into hillbilly country territory and honest folk at others, with an acid influence that is pervasive yet subtle. Serious collectors have been swooning over this album for years, and with good reason. This is pure magic. Flawlessly remastered from the original master tapes by the albums producer, Emitt Brooks. From Rate Your Music: "Heaped with praise in ACID ARCHIVES. They were totally right. A rare vanity/private press facemelter with NO covers!" -Goldust. "Heres an album thats so good that it just invalidated every top reissues of 2010 list you may have seen. ..a top 10 folk private for me." - Douglas Mcgowan, Yoga Records.

Title: Live at the Gluepot
Format: Double LP
Label: Goner
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Previously unreleased live recording from legendary New Zealand band fronted by CHRIS KNOX (TALL DWARFS). TOY LOVEs music was in a constant state of formation and reformation throughout the bands existence-songs would warp and twist with every playing. So, for all its undeniable power, it appeared unstable, almost fragile, threatening to burst out of its own skin, shards and globs all over the place. Every gig was like another attempt to make this strange creature hold together and live. At times, it would only take off at a few unpredictable points, at others it would lift off immediately and roar through the air, an astonishingly compelling and unlikely flying thing full of dark folds and flashes of light. The best stuff was transcendent, and the near-failures were so often funny or had the buzzy pathos of a crash site, one couldnt look away. This double-album captures the legendary band in September 1980 at The Gluepot in Ponsonby, Auckland-one of their final live performances. The recording was transferred and prepared for vinyl mastering by STEVE MCGOUGH at Stebbings from a desk tape recorded by the bands soundman DOUG HOOD. Vinyl features four tracks not on the CD and digital versions; includes a download coupon." -Goner.

Title: Big Steam/Dream Interpretation
Format: 7"
Label: Good Road
Country: USA
Price: $9.00
"Roger Miller has been a Boston music icon for more than three decades and is currently active with two perennially-popular groups: Mission of Burma (guitarist / vocalist) and Alloy Orchestra (keyboards). This is a rare rock/guitar/vocals-driven Roger Miller solo release, featuring two original compositions, one with vocals. According to Miller, it is a deliberate sonic referencing of Pink Floyds Piper at the Gates of Dawn." - Good Road. Includes download card.

The Story utilize glowing harmonies and ornate guitar lines to create vibrant, melodic songs. WHYSP is a Californian band who bring an expanded lineup to this release, which gives each song here a different and evocative atmosphere and instrumentation. "They sing out for dreams, humanity, and the space between, in which we all have some sort of part." - Good Village.

Artist: CARTER, TOM/CHRISTIAN KIEFER
Title: A Rather Solemn Promise
Format: CD
Label: Great Pop Supplement
Country: UK
Price: $12.00
"Another T. Carter duo creeps down the pipeline. This time its with Christian Kiefer, who some of you may recognize from his Tompkins Square CD with Sharon Krauss a couple of years back. This is an all-improvised set of threadbare-loose, (mostly) electrified folk blues- and its almost normal enough to sneak onto the iPod of your average goateed tea sipper, but theres enough dense high-end steel rail shimmer to send the timid packing. Rambling, dusted, and deeply psyched out, sort of like The Hired Hand re-imagined by the Crosby-led Planet Earth Rock & Roll Orchestra (c. 1969). Covers designed, rendered, and hand-screened by Rob Fisk of Free Porcupine Society. Numbered edition of 500, from the label folks responsible for the now-defunct Earworm Records."

Format: LP
Label: Great Pop Supplement
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"Formidable full length of utterly whacked out, psych blues where the ferocity of The Sonics meets the tenderness of Galaxie 500, where the Velvets meet The Modern Lovers via the scuzz of first album Neutral Milk Hotel. A beguiling mix of beautifully tender pop which often descends into fuzz drenched, freakout mayhem courtesy of the most out there, incendiary guitar vibe presently doing the rounds. JATS core duo consists of Kim and Jeremy from Columbia, MO. Kims Moe style drums lending perfectly to Jeremys riotous, devastating guitar mash up. Infectious, unforgettable tunes that you will return to over and over. Previous GPS releases with the band were shared 45s with longterm Missouri friends Hush Arbors, and Wooden Wand, and both disappeared in the blink of an eye. 320 copies on numbered, split duo tone coloured wax. Title: Split
Format: 7"
Label: Great Pop Supplement
Country: UK
Price: $12.00
"For its 50th release the great pop supplement offers up this incredible pairing of like minded spirits, for a total one off split 45. 2 unreleased nuggets from legendary psych rockers from both sides of the pond. The Spacemen tune is a beautiful demo to their last ever single, the mighty "big city". stripped of its lyrical nod to the electric prunes, but still very much displaying the kraftwerk influence of the original, the softer spoken lyrical passages offer up an almost confessional electro blues variant, unique to this early take. After 2 studio LPs, Wooden Shjips are often bracketed with the Spacemen, with their blissed out Velvets / Doors / Kraut sound- so its perhaps of no surprise that they should take on a Spacemen gem for their own reworking. "I Believe It" from the classic "Playing with Fire" album gets the nod for a radical overhaul- where the originals predominantly keyboard lead is given the Shjips guitar fuzz and 2 note organ treatment. a killer take on an old favourite, debuted recently on the road and offered up here as their first outright UK release. Packaging as ever with the GPS is of paramount importance, cover art is provided by natty brooker (the original spacemen percussionist) and is from original work put together during his time within the bands first line-up. A pretty much essential and incredible 45, destined not to hang around long...." -Great Pop Supplement

Price: $12.00
"AROB and SOOTTYBs collaboration "They Sent Me Into Space Today" mixes and dweedles electronics "until they slip over your head like a soft mosquito blanket," according to Byron Coley, who also pegs the instrumentation (drums and "flapper") as the tools for accessing a "wormhole into some strange rock universe." Arobs "Cicadas Birds + Gtr," as the title suggests, combines field recordings from the countryside with a home recording made in a bedroom in the city. Plays well on either 45 or 33 rpm, which is rarely a bad sign." -Greatdividing

Title: Barry O Cup Day/The Door
Format: Lathe Cut 10"
Label: Greatdividing
Country: Australia
Price: $24.00
"Lathe cut by Peter King on the south island of New Zealand on clear 10" polycarbonate. Two 11 minute long tracks recorded at separate times in different places by the same two blokes. Not sure how to describe this, but then thats not really our job...is it? Heres a few words Hypnotic Chaotic Random Repetition Indoorsman Records says: Lovely untutored repeato-strings. Hypnosis or patience test? 60 copies in olde style green paper sleeves stamped with red paint." - Greatdividing.

"Greatdividing is one of the most essential features of the Australian musical landscape. There are few who appear to be appreciative of its rough and rewarding terrain, but those who do know the geography better than most. The two bands here are one band. Both are comprised of Exiles From Clowntown alumni, arob and sootieb. The two loose, side-spanning manifestations on offer bear much in resemblance to the disjointed and purely engaging slop-rock of the Exiles. Its impossible to tell which is the a-side due to both being littered with several, seemingly unrelated numbers and sigils. In fact, the record appears to be a testament to irritation par excellence; it is a detested size (10) assembled out of unpopular materials (polycarbonate), featuring bands that do not exist, playing music that moves an inch. But what an inch it is! Ill go with the Pho Band first; drum and guitar walk around the room uncomfortably, run into each other, shake hands and make nice before leaving for the pub. Repetition is the key here. Two old blokes in a room, the sound of encroaching senility (or refinement). Drunk, abject, confused, where else to go but down? Its ok, I can say that without fear of too much reprisal, arob used to be my landlord (sorry about the rug). The other side is similarly aimless n entrancing . Hypnotic guitar and what might be an organ or might not be push a rock up shit hill but never reach the top. Nor do they need to, it is the process that matters. Despite being a disreputably unreliable format, these two cuts sound bloody fantastic. If music appearing on a lathe is a deterrent for you, then you should probably sort your life out anyway." - Crawlspace Magazine.

Artist: BASKET CASE
Title: Sin City Deciples
Format: Cass
Label: Green
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"So many good things I want to say about Basket Case. Incredible band with a confusing timeline. From what ive gathered, Basket Case existed from 1999-2000, mainly in Detroit, and consisted of Geoff Walker (Gravitar, Spider Tombs), John Olson (American Tapes, Wolf Eyes, Pink Chunk Jazz, etc.) and Lisa Colwell (Commune Ills, Lake Bottoms). Though they recorded constantly and amassed hours and hours of tape, only 10 or Basket Case releases were made, nearly half of which were released after the fact. All limited and impossible to find now. This tape features all live compsitions, very acoustic, sparse, and organic sounding. Recorded 1999 in Lansing and Detroit (at the Detroit Contemporary). Amazing photograph art by Geoff Walker of DC and surrounding Detroit areas. Hopefully more archival Basket Case to come! Double sided color art, color tape labels." - Green. Limited to 50 copies.

"A three man, three synthesizer "Industrial-Electro" pop group from Grand Rapids, Michigan comprising T. Purdy, B. Younker and S. Zuidema (all 1960-). Active 1979-1982. Self produced single "Wir Sind" b/w "Gary, IN" and "Part Time" (GRiM Records, 1981) distinguishes Zyklon as first electronica recording artist to champion Industrial noise as music genre." Zyklon. Title: The Garage Years
Format: LP
Label: Groovie
Country: Spain
Price: $31.00
"Dara Puspita (trans. Flower Girls) was arguably the worlds greatest all-female garage rock band. The reason youve probably never heard of them is that they came from Indonesia where they were extremely popular during the 1960s. Their career spanned from 1965 until 1973 including 3 years (1969-1971) living and touring in Europe. The four albums recorded by the original members between 1966 and 1968 (the material represented on this LP) is one of the great chapters of 1960s popular music history never to be reissued in vinyl, let alone recognized beyond a few tuned-in souls and adventurous record collectors in the Western world. This is an amazing compilation for all garage rockers, fuelled with fuzz tunes and groovy rhythms. Includes an insert with rare photos and extensive notes by Alan Bishop." -Groovie

Theres some fab garage folk-rock on it (the opening track Gotta Keep Travelling is really astounding!), and also some tracks in a bizarre crooner-lounge Incredibly Strange Music vein. Title: Todos Rien de Mi
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $25.00
"Hippie group from Madrid, this is no doubt the most acid psychedelic rock album recorded in Spain in the 70s. It is their sole album, originally released in 1975 on the Explosion label and a very rare and collectable item. No one knew anything about the group members until now, it had been even rumored to be some Argentinian guys living in Spain...but no, the group was formed by two Spanish females and four males and the brainhead was Carlos Garcia, who sadly passed away not long ago and to whom this reissue is dedicated. Ten tracks, eight of them in English and two in Spanish, all originals and fantastic; theres lots of heavy acid fuzz guitar here, probably the wildest fuzz recorded in Spain (Todos Rien de Mi, Send Me or I Need Money), and also some great sunshine psych-pop (Cuco Go Fly, Al Salir el Sol), and its all very well packed with some of the best multi-vocal harmonies you can find in a Spanish record ever." - Spain. Title: Flashback
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $27.00
"Chicago, early 70s. Greg Herriges is obsessed with Lennon, 12-string guitars, and far-out psychedelic sounds. Rick Vittenson is a Beach Boys-Hollies-Who fanatic who writes for Crawdaddy! magazine. Both had previously played in several garage college bands during the 60s. Combining their mutual love for 60s music, Athanor was born. With the help of top studio musicians, they recorded and self-released three 45s between 1973 and 1975 (the first one produced by Mark Breyer, with whom Rick had played in pre-Skooshny band Brevity) which are now highly sought-after by fans of obscure psychedelic pop. All of them are featured here in stellar sound taken from the master tapes along with previously-unreleased studio tracks and superb-sounding home demos (1973-1981), plus a new song recorded in 2006 in the same vein as their vintage recordings. Athanors music features impressive songwriting and musicianship, a collision of Beatlesque harmony vocals, Rickenbacker and Guild 12-string guitars, occasional fuzz-wah leads, Fender Rhodes, and studio effects. Psychedelic proto power-pop highly recommended to anyone into Lazy Smoke, Badfinger, Only Ones, Emitt Rhodes, Rockin Horse, or Creme Soda. Remastered sound from the original master tapes, insert with rare pictures and liner notes by Mark Breyer from cult psych power-pop band Skooshny. 180 gram vinyl." -Guerssen.

Title: Ode To Quetzalcoatl
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $24.00
"Since its discovery in the late 90s, Dave Bixbys legendary $2000 private press album from 1969 is considered by all serious record collectors as the king in the loner/downer-folk genre. After being involved in 60s Michigan folk and garage-rock bands such as The Shillelaghs and Peter & The Prophets, Bixby started playing acoustic guitar and experimenting with LSD. After a year of drug abuse he felt broken. Starting a soul-searching, spiritual journey, he wrote Ode To Quetzalcoatl and most of the material for his second album, Harbingers Second Coming in just a month and a half. Assisted by fellow musician Brian MacInness, who played some guitar parts on the album, Bixby recorded this record in a living room using an echo-laden 4-track machine. The sound is lo-fi and sparse: just acoustic guitars and some occasional harmonica & flute, added to Bixbys haunting, emotional vocals, spiritual lyrics and solid songwriting. The opening cut, the eerie and painful "Drug Song" sets the mood perfectly for the rest of the album. Never again has an acoustic folk album sounded as intense as this. Reissued for the first time under license from Dave Bixby himself, and carefully remastered from vinyl (no master tapes exist) at Shadoks Music Studios. Includes an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak -- the guy who found Bixby in 2006 -- plus some rare pictures. This vinyl release also includes a free mp3 download code." - Guerssen . "Highly rated by the few who have heard it, this tormented religious loner/downer folk LP has to rank as one of the ultimate incarnations of the genre." --Acid Archives.

After being involved in 60s Michigan folk and garage-rock bands such as The Shillelaghs and Peter & The Prophets, Bixby started playing acoustic guitar and experimenting with LSD. After a year of drug abuse, he felt broken. Includes an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak -- the guy who found Bixby in 2006 -- plus some rare pictures." -Guerssen

Title: Echoes Of Loves Reality
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $29.00
"Most would probably agree that this is one of the very best psych-style LPs from the 1980s. Not retro at all but (like Bobb Trimble) a piece of the late 1960s preserved from times rust. Male/female vocals lament and serenade the quest for knowledge of love and beauty in an appealing soundscape, with lyrical guitar leads throughout, good use of mellotron, occasional tablas, flute and bells. The recording has a definite 1981 sound but (again, like Bobb Trimble) this somehow becomes an advantage. Theres not a questionable song on this album, recommended to anyone open for a soft, dreamy trip inside the melancholy and bliss of an acid-tinted romance." -Patrick Lundborg, The Acid Archives "High-quality reissue in 180 gram vinyl, housed in a nice package with original artwork, unbeatable remastered sound quality and also including a huge 16-page booklet with lyrics and drawings. Limited edition of 500 copies only." -Guerssen

Title: Miguel Cantilo y Grupo Sur
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $24.00
"Argentinian Miguel Cantilo joined a hippie commune in the fall of 1972. There he wrote many songs together with Kubero Diaz (La Cofradia de la Flor Solar), incredible hard-psychedelia and a slight folk flavour at times. This is an absolute must for any psychedelic rock fan with overwhelming dual guitar, and no doubt its one of the best Argentinian records of the 70s. This is its first vinyl reissue ever and the sound has been taken from original mastertapes resulting in a much better sound than the original! Its limited to 500 copies and comes with the gorgeous original gatefold cover." - Guerssen.

Price: $31.00
"Long-deleted Guerssen title now repressed in a limited deluxe version, with a thick carton cover and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Germany, 1978. Absolutely early 70s-sounding progressive and psychedelic folk-rock masterpiece of the first order. Entirely sung in English by an incredibly young female vocalist, Beate Krause, only 16 years-old! Long tracks with excellent, killer acid guitar solos, and Moog. If you like groups like Mellow Candle or Pentangle, theres no doubt you need to purchase this one fast. Often praised as "the best prog-folk record ever," this is an absolute classic of the genre. Besides that, the original label pressed only 200 copies of the LP, so imagine how hard it is to find this now. So here you have a new vinyl reissue of this wonderful record, licensed by the band, with killer, remastered sound and an insert with photos and liner notes in a limited edition of 700 copies." -Guerssen.

Title: Axe Music
Format: LP+CD
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $31.00
"Axe (also known as Axe Music and Crystalline by the time they recorded their rare acetate) were an obscure British psych band led by acid-rock guitar player extraordinaire Tony Barford and graced by Vivienne Jones ethereal vocals. In 1970, they recorded a demo album of which only 12 copies were pressed on a 10" acetate. Heres the first-ever straight reissue of this legendary artifact, as the previous "reissue" on the Kissing Spell label was altered without the bands consent and included new remixed tracks, added echo/phasing effects, altered song titles, etc. Here youll find the acetate recordings in their pure form: 100% unadulterated heavy psych and acid-rock sounds full of raw, fuzzed-out guitars and dreamy female vocals. Four impressive, original songs, plus a long, psyched-to-the-max cover of Loves "A House Is Not a Motel," which has to be heard to be believed. Carefully remastered from an original copy (master tapes were lost) in 24-bit. Unfortunately, no masters survived and no clean copy is known to exist of the original 10", but youll get the best result for the possibilities. New artwork (the original acetate came in a blank sleeve) and an insert with unseen pictures and liner notes by Paul Cross. And if all that wasnt enough, this release includes a CD with the same album, plus a bonus 8-minute video track featuring color silent footage of Crystalline/Axe playing live in 1970 with audio from the acetate added. Footage filmed by none other than Steve Giles (Dark)." -Guerssen.

Title: Song Of A Gypsy
Format: LP & 7"
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $27.00
"Damon. This is the artistic name of David Del Conte, a genius American gypsy musician who is responsible for probably the rarest and most sought-after psychedelic music album of all time. Were talking about his debut album, Song of a Gypsy, which was originally released in 1969. This album has a totally unique sound, with the crooner-like voice of Damon, the omnipresent melodic fuzz guitar of Charlie Carey and truly atmospheric melodies. Guerseen is very proud to be able to re-release Song of a Gypsy on vinyl format. This will come with the rarer gatefold cover (there were two original pressings, one in single cover and one in gatefold, with different artwork). This fabulous vinyl production comes with an extra 33rpm EP including the four tracks that were released on their two bloody rare singles, including an insert with photos and liner-notes, making this a very special release if all previous things werent enough." - Guerssen.

Back in 1979, two Turkish guys armed with electro-saz, guitar, drums and synthesizers were hitting the Turkish market in Germany where they lived, playing their sets of traditional-flavored electro-folk in weddings and circumcision feasts for Turkish emigrants in Germany. Artist: EVERYONE INVOLVED
Title: Either/Or
Format: LP + 7"
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $35.00
"First-ever reissue of this UK private press masterpiece from 1972. Everyone Involved was a hippie collective formed by well-trained musicians, assembled by Alan Wakeman and Michael Klein (Solid British Hat Band) to record a set of environmental protest songs. Some of the members of this London-based recording commune included vocalist Freya Hogue (ex-Sunforest), guitar player Lucinha Turnbull (later with Cilibrinas Do Eden/Rita Lee), and bass player Arnaldo "Liminha" Filho (Os Mutantes) among others. Either/Or is a perfectly played and professionally recorded album (something very unusual for a private pressing). Top-notch psychedelic folk-rock/acid-folk with male-female vocals, flute, electric-acoustic guitars, bass, drums and some freaky/weird arrangements/effects. The album is now also famous for including "A Gay Song," which is probably the earliest known example of a pro-open gay song. The original pressing of 1,000 copies was never distributed or sold at stores, all the copies were given away for free (even to people passing on the street!). One of the members even buried a large number of them in a time capsule in the Amazon rainforest. Needless to say, the original album has been a highly sought-after artifact since the early days of obscure psych-prog record-collecting. This reissue reproduces the original embossed cover and includes repros of the two rare inserts, including the giant fold-out poster with new liner notes and info printed in the reverse. Also included is a repro of the Save Piccadilly 7" single released in 1972, featuring a non-album track: "The Circus Keeps on Turning." Remastered sound from the original master tapes. Limited release of 500 copies only." -Guerssen.

"Fapardokly is probably regarded as the most important release in Merrell Fankhausers long career, and an absolute collectors item. The band recorded about 30 tracks in a small studio in Palmdale, California, from 1965 to 1967, when the owner of the studio decided to release an album with some of these tracks. With such different recording dates, you find here different sounds -- organized 60s pop, jangly folk-rock, psychedelia -- a truly fantastic album that finally gets, for the first time, a legit vinyl reissue and with the original artwork. Comes with an insert featuring photo from Merrells personal archive, and liner notes by him as well." -Guerssen

Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $27.00
"Guerssen presents the first-ever reissue of this lost treasure, originally an obscure private pressing of just 100 copies. Gigymen were a college circuit band from Cambridge who in 1974 recorded their only album at Spaceward Studios. Stunning folk-rock/folk-pop with pro-recorded sound, superb musicianship and strong songwriting. With influences ranging from Fairport Convention to The Beatles, here youll find some superb folk-rock adaptations of traditional songs such as "As I Roved Out," "Gypsy Laddie" and "Rocky Road to Dublin" along with fab folk-pop with Beatlesque vocals on tracks like "Plain Jane" or "Gone Are The Days." The album was originally released with only a blank paper sheet with the credits on the cover, so Guerssen has designed a new front sleeve for their reissue. Insert with rare pictures and detailed liner notes also included. Remastered in 24-bit domain from the original master tapes." -Guerssen.

The bands psychedelic delirium is here remastered from the original mastertapes, pressed in 180 gram vinyl. Featuring new exclusive artwork printed in 350 gram carton covers. Including liner notes in Catalan, Spanish and English, plus unseen photos from the personal archives of some members. Limited to 500 copies." -Guerssen

Artist: HARBINGER
Title: Second Coming
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $24.00
"Unknown to most 60s/70s collectors until its discovery a few years ago, this is the beyond rare second album released by loner/downer folk legend Dave Bixby, recorded around 1969, the same year as his first one, the now-famous Ode To Quetzalcoatl. Musically, Second Coming is equally as good and very similar to the first one, but this time the recording took place in a professional studio, so the sound is improved. Bixby is joined by Brian MacInness on guitar, Sandy Johnson on vocals and Don DeGraaf on bass and production duties. Don was in fact leader of the, in the end, destructive religious cult known as "The Group" or "The Movement," of which Bixby and Brian were part of. The sound is more up-front and the songs are slightly optimistic compared to the ones on Ode To Quetzalcoatl, and theres plenty of acoustic 12-string raga guitars and harmony male/female vocals. The lyrics deal with cosmic imagery, psychedelics and religious/biblical references, but this goes much deeper than any Xian record youve ever heard -- titles such as "Cosmic Energy," "Time To Clear Your Mind," "Rainbow," and "Circus World" point towards some sort of New Age/post-Revelations utopian consciousness. Reissued for the first time under license from Dave Bixby himself, and carefully remastered from a clean vinyl (no master tapes exist) at Shadoks Music Studios. Includes an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak -- the guy who found Bixby in 2006 -- plus some rare pictures. Also includes a free mp3 download code." - Guerssen.

Title: Grown in U.S.A.
Format: Double LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $35.00
"With their roots traced in two legendary 60s garage bands, The Outcasts and The Stoics, Homer were without doubt one of the best psychedelic/hard-rock outfits from Texas. Grown in U.S.A. was their only album, released as a private pressing in 1970. Rural psychedelic rock with early prog hints fuelled by stunning lead/dual guitar, melodic vocals and occasional mellotron. Presented in a 2LP expanded edition including their early singles, which are prime examples of 60s Texan garage-psych, plus previously-unreleased studio demo tracks recorded at the same time as the album. Newly remastered sound especially for this vinyl release, housed in a gatefold sleeve with detailed liner notes and rare pictures. 180 gram vinyl. "A Texas private press classic that spans several early 70s genres but still manages to sound like a coherent, personal work. A strongly played melodic rock trip somewhat like Mother Tuckers Yellow Duck." -Patrick Lundborg, Acid Archives.

Title: Your Heart Is Broken
Format: LP

Price: $27.00
"One of the most obscure U.S. private pressings from the late 60s/early 70s. For many years, The Misty Hush Revival name was only a rumor whispered in collectors circles, with only a handful of copies known of the original album around today. Like The Bachs or The Index, this is one of those hard-to-describe albums which seems to live in a world of its own. Despite the late 1972 release date, the music here sounds more late 60s than early 70s and the whole album has a cool, lost-in-time atmosphere. The group were in fact a club band from New Jersey, but surprisingly all the tracks are originals -- no cover versions -- and they range from fragile, dreamy pop-psych numbers to raw garage, fuzzed-out jams and teen-beat sounds. Like Patrick Lundborg says in Acid Archives: "A cool, atmospheric trip for fans of the tri-state late 60s club sound." First time-ever reissue, remastered on 24-bit. Includes the original artwork and an insert with rare pictures and liner notes by Jack D. Fleischer." -Guerssen.

Title: Pan symphony in E Minor
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $24.00
"One of the newest and most surprising discoveries in the 60s & 70s rock rarities field,  this caused big hype among collectors in the last months. Certainly easy to understand, as its an ace album no one had heard of before. Guitarist William Nowik recorded this obscure instrumental record back in 1974 in the NY area. Psychedelic, progressive, very early Floyd sounding at times, Crimson-esque, and a kind of sound that reminds on the British early 70s underground but with an experimental, trippy touch. Fourteen tracks in total, but played and arranged in suites. Seems that only 200 copies were pressed and never distributed, so it has taken 35 years to be discovered for the first time. This wonderful reissue comes with the intended original artwork (it came out in green and black cover instead of the black and white that William wanted), has nice remastered sound and includes an insert with rare unseen photos and extended liner-notes." - Guerssen.

Released in 1968 in Argentina by a label called Phonexa, the Schibbinz album could be regarded as the ultimate teen garage folk-rock album, ever. An album of fragile beauty, full of teen charm, innocent vocals, jangly guitars, charming, lo-fi sound and a lost-in-time atmosphere. It has the look and sound that can only be found on some U.S. 60s private-pressings like Rising Storm or Summer Sounds, but Schibbinz music is something else. Guerssen Records is proud to present this wonderful and mega-rare vinyl album to the world, with the production fully benefitting from the bands involvement and assistance. The original master tapes were lost, but the sound has been carefully-remastered from an original near-mint copy. Extensive, detailed liner-notes and lots of cool pictures from the bands archives are all included in a 4-page insert." -Guerssen.

"180 gram LP version. Guerssen Records present what is for them the major discovery in the Spanish psych-prog collector scene: a previously-unreleased album from 1970 by this obscure Spanish garage-psych band. Until now, Shock! were a total mystery. They only released one 45 at the time (the killer acid-fuzz punker "No se puede ser Superman") and nothing was known about the band until the label tracked them down. We discovered that prior to their 45 release, they recorded a whole album which was never released. Shocks music is underground garage-psychedelia with crude acid-fuzz guitar, effects, and English vocals: think of Agua de Regaliz, early Pan & Regaliz, Cerebrum or even obscure Brazilian bands such as Tobruk, but with a more primitive sound. The album features 10 songs, including the original versions of the two tracks later re-recorded for their only 45: No se puede ser Superman (titled here "Im Being Mad," its a different and superior English-sung version) and "I Want to Laugh" (a longer version than the one included on the 45). Remastered from the original 2-track tape (which is unfortunately not in perfect condition, but more than good enough), including an insert with detailed liner notes in English/Spanish." - Guerssen.

"180 gram LP version. Subway was a duo consisting of an American and a guy from the UK who released their only album in France in an edition of 200 LPs in 1972. They lived and played for some time as street musicians, even performing their compositions in the Parisian subway, hence the band name. Unfortunately, the album fell through, so the unsold records were melted, as was usual in France at the time. The band performed fantastic psych-folk music with prog-rock elements. An absolutely top album and a must for any psych and folk fan. This vinyl edition is housed in a high quality carton cover and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Brilliant, fully remastered sound quality. Includes an insert with photos and liner notes." -Guerssen

"This is the second album from Oregons The Tree People, the late 70s predecessors to the ongoing new folk movement in the USA. You already know about their 1979 debut album and you know its a masterpiece, but did you know about their second album recorded in 1984? Surely not, especially because it was a cassette-only release with a very short print-run. Luckily enough, The Tree People guys kept the mastertapes of these recordings and Guerssen Records is proud to be making this wonderful music available again. Reissued on CD with a vinyl version to come later, the sound quality is splendid, and the music itself is equally as good, if not better than, their self-titled debut and is a real must for any folk and psych-folk lover. Acoustic guitars, subtle percussion, wonderful flute work and some warm vocals -- overall, this is a real big dose of quality and originality that makes The Tree Peoples music absolutely ahead of its time and therefore so much admired today. A real beauty! This CD includes a booklet with liner notes by the bands leader Stephen Cohen, as well as some nice pictures." -Guerssen

Title: Its My Story
Format: LP
Label: Guerssen
Country: Spain
Price: $25.00
"Oregons fathers of freak-folk/folk psych pioneers The Tree People have, incredibly, made another album once again. Responsible for two awesome works in the late 70s and early 80s, here they are now with a new album and they sound exactly as they did 30 years ago. This could be their best work ever. Mellow, tender freak-folk with acoustic guitar, double bass, recorder, flute and percussion. Eleven new tracks, plus a new version of "Space Heater" from their 1979 debut. Includes an insert with photos and lyrics, as well as liner notes by folk-psych connoisseur Gerald Van Waes." -Guerssen

"Self-titled album by Oregon group Tree People has finally reached its deserved status after the excellent CD reissue released by Japanese label Tiliqua a couple years ago. Tree People is no other than a fantastic piece of hippie acid folk that clearly anticipates todays freak folk movement. Very clean production, with an Eastern flavor noticeable in many passages and using acoustic guitars, varied percussions and flutes, while the strong vocals of Stephen Cohen finalize the picture. Remastered sound from masters, has insert with rare photos." - Guerssen

"Released as a private edition of only 200 copies in 1977 on the Joint label (but recorded two years earlier, in 1975), Warlus Songs could be regarded as the king of all French 70s obscure private pressings. Warlus was the brainchild of young musician Richard Maubert, who created a mini-masterpiece of twisted, melancholic, fuzzed-out psychedelic-pop, with a charming homemade sound/production and druggy atmosphere. Sung in English, it also brings to mind other obscure USA private pressings like Kath. This is a very special record that will appeal to both psych aficionados and fans of 70s DIY weirdness. If you like other French private pressings like Dandelion and Les Temps Heureux, youll be amazed when you hear Warlus. The reissue includes liner notes and pictures. Carefully remastered from a clean original copy (master tapes were lost in time), and done under permission of Richard Maubert." -Guerssen.

Title: 1975-1977: Demos & Rehearsals
Format: Double CD
Label: Gulcher
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"Hot on the heels of The Gizmos 1976/1977: The Studio Recordings, Gulcher Records presents a new Gizmos double CD of demos and rehearsals. The Gizmos story of early American punk is re-told with 54 previously unreleased tracks and a 20-page booklet. Included are Ken Highlands1975 demos that started the whole thing; Ken and Eddie Flowers, as the Rockabilly Yobs, accidentally discovering swamp-trash-punk; Rich Coffees stoner-rock band Cerberus joining Ken for the first Gizmos rehearsal; Maryland Marine-era song demos by Ken; and Ted Niemiecs demos for the 1977 Gizmos sessions. There are versions of Gizmos faves like "Mean Screen," "Chicken Queen," "Thats Cool," "Muff Divin," "Pumpin to Playboy," "Cave Woman," "Human Garbage Disposal," "Amerika First," "Kiss of the Rat," "Gizmos World Tour," and "Hey Beat Mon!" And six songs that Ken recorded with the Afrika Korps in 1977-78, including "Jailbait Janet," "Too Cool to Fool," and "Nobodys Girl." Plus many unheard and even unremembered tunes! How could the classic Giz-rock of "Talkin on the Telephone" and "Seaside Boogie With a Jack-Off Solo" have remained unreleased for all these years?! The 20-page booklet is packed with riff-by-riff details from Krazee Ken, with commentary and clarification by Ready Eddie. Plus lots of unpublished photos, including the many photo-booth faces of Krazee Ken." - Gulcher.

Artist: HOME BLITZ
Title: s/t
Format: CD
Label: Gulcher
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"HOME BLITZ is 21-year-old DANIEL DIMAGGIO from Princeton, New Jersey. He recorded and released his first two singles on his own. Those two early gems are a magic whirl of early Modern Lovers, Big Star, and Flamin Groovies circa 72-but with a casual no-fi vibe that sounds closer to the first couple Harry Pussy singles. On this new CD release, Gulcher has collected those first two singles (way out of print), material from a cassette release, a new HB 12-inch EP, and two otherwise unavailable tracks. From the first single, "Apocalyptic Grades 2005" is a powerpop / postpunk hybrid with guitars that sound like the Fall circa 78 covering the Flamin Groovies. The very bratty "AC S.S.," sounds like early Screamin Mee-Mees crossed with early Modern Lovers, and "Hey!" comes on as if Big Stars Radio City had been recorded under the more addled conditions of Alex Chiltons Like Flies On Sherbert." - Gulcher.

Title: Damascus Doldrum
Format: CD
Label: Gulcher
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"JOSHUA JUGBAND 5 was the name used by Swedish musician JAKOB OLAUSSON (see releases on DESTIJL) for two limited-edition CDRs a few years back. In 2002, the self-titled JJ5 debut was released by my label Slippy Town. Recorded at home on 4-track, Jakob used guitar and percussion to make 30 minutes of pure grade-"L" instrumental psych-out, low-key wall-rumblin groove, and heavy livin-room glow. The disc contained four untitled jam-gems. The JJ5 follow-up, Damascus Doldrum, was released by Ramadan in 2003. This one has three more untitled tracks clocking in at just over 30 minutes. Again, its filled with great psych guitar distortion, dirty drone n bellow, caveman drums, and unknown tongues. If you dig the Godz, the Screamin Mee-Mees, Silver Apples, the Twinkeyz, Mike Rep & The Quotas, Hawkwind, Amon Duul, etc.-heres some MORE, but without all the words to get in the way of your wander. And now, thanks to the good folk at Gulcher, you can get these two long-gone goodies on a silver disc thatll last longer than them dainty little CDRs."- Eddie Flowers.
