Artist: POLLARD, MICHAEL
Title: Piano Sonata After a Conversation with Jonathan Gean
Format: LP
Label: 0dx/FQW
Country: USA
Price: $25.00
Edition of 100. Handmade sleeves, numbered. "This is a record which was recorded after a conversation I had with Mike Pollard, which I think was basically about ways to avoid over-dependence on sonic or generic convention, or to communicate more precisely, but it was a long time ago and we had been drinking. He processes particular sounds which I think hold a sort of personal totemic power because of their origin in or connection to friends or other socially potent forces through a previously determined set of abstracting transformations, releasing the recorded result. This confluence of materials of diverse origin with a rigid net of process appears through the record as something like a singular thing, both starkly visible and enigmatic, albeit one available in a certain quantity. I think of how an event or a relation can be related as or translated into a physical object, and how the physicality of an object can be related to an originating impulse, as well as what it means to live with the realization of ones own ideas through action." - Jonathan Gean, August 25, 2016.

Title: What Is It That Ever Was?
Format: CDR
Label: 100 Songs I Sing
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
"16 songs, 40+mins long. What a far out release from Josephine Foster, we can barely describe the unusal mixing and melting on her newest self released effort. From the fire noise guitar blasting prelude to all manner of elegant folk musings and musical enchantments performed with piano, percussion, guitar, and Josephines amazing and unique voice. Including many original compositions, improvised songs, Japanese folk songs, and a couple jam-backed spoken word performances, a very ambitious and captivating release!"

Title: Split
Format: Lathe Cut 10"
Label: 100$ Band/Spit
Country: New Zealand
Price: $25.00
"NEW in the el nuevo dunedin series of split 10" lathe records... the best $100 Band gig I saw was at an art college barbeque, where they performed an utterly intense half-hour drone with violin and cello to the fore, followed by almost an hour of Alastair Galbraith and former Snares singer Maxine Funkes songs in a very pop style. The band at it was possibly doesnt exist now, due to drummer Mike Dooley (ex of the Enemy/Toy Love and the Snares)s preference for the songs, but this disc remains to show what they were like at their best. Alastairs been working on long-form drones for a while now, ala his Cd Radiant, and the $100 Band gave them a rough, energetic going-over, falling into vast holes of wordless, timeless beauty. the artist known as Spit, Ryan Cockburn, doesnt take a whizz-bang approach to turntablism, and the pieces on this record are definately at the quieter end of his scale. Live, however, he develops immense journeys that roil and tear time, with an unpredictable edge that he creates via an unusual method - he cuts his records in half and glues them back together, in odd combinations; and since he now has hundreds of them he has little to no idea how theyll sound or react to the welded needles on his antique record players. The result is always something odd and his side of this record are like complete beginnings of the longer pieces which hopefully will see wider release than his cdr series."

Title: Confectioner Beats
Format: 12"
Label: 100% Silk
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"Misunderstood during their time together by an Iowa City that couldnt feel the computer-generated heart beating as one, Cuticle make the music your mind hears inside the green grates and grids of Tron. More deft than the Daft soundtrack, more dizzying than that Disney score. Side A enters the matrix with whirls and swirls as this plane of reality becomes a Cool World full of alien auto-tune and deep dance data. Side B is one long blue pill -- lazer tag, Strange Days steady cams, mighty morphin synths n toys, circuit board swing, a cyber-symphonic time warp. If neon lovers glow in the dark then Cuticle can be seen radiating for miles. From the finger-less gloves of Daren Ho (Driphouse), Brendan OKeefe (Nimby), and Jeff Witscher (Rene Hell): a three-dimensional systems preference sound show." -100% Silk

The B-side features two syrupy sideways remixes." -100% Silk.

Artist: DRAINO, BOBBY
Title: Brain Drain
Format: 12"
Label: 100% Silk
Country: USA
Price: $13.00
"Before birthing his blasted acid house identity, BOBBY DRAINO drummed for various synth-punked groups around Vancouver, and some of that scorched-earth live energy bleeds through the five primordial bangers comprising his vinyl debut Brain Drain. Tracked live through one channel of a space echo straight to his computer, Drainos overdriven drum machines, fried acid grit, bass damage and blown-tone sequencer patterns are fused into a radical and weird debased mutant house. The EPs five tracks are the culmination of two years of demo workshopping, TR-606 and 303 autodidacticism and warehouse party spelunks-all savvy tactics for developing a shredding, progressively singular style, which Draino has in spades. Brain Drain is one of the most awesomely wrecked and raw Silk slabs to date from a West Coast wiz worth watching. Strictly limited; only 450 made." -100% Silk.

Title: I Want More Than Just Blood (High Heels Mix)
Format: 12"
Label: 100% Silk
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"Italians may do it better -- ice cream, genuine leather, synth splatter -- but everythings still bigger in Texas. Like this X Large redux from Austins X Harris. He calls side A the high heels remix which is chop-shop talk for shoegaze if yr shoes happen to be red patent pumps. Less gore than before, more vast unknown than hes ever shown, side B soars like the flight of a DJ navigator whos recently returned home to realize hes left the 80s far behind, its almost 2012, and everyone he loves has aged and moved on without him. But the force is still strong with this one. If Xander Harris had a hammer, hed beat down John Carpenters door, turn that Carpenteria into a Danceteria, and make that grave-waver Sweatt. Finally, an escape from New York." -100% Silk

"Ponies from the SILK stable turn 936 dub-a-dub lullaby groovers into full-on synth-sex, acid-bubble, twinkle-starshine dance ditties on this remix redux. Beat it with the chic vocal pitch n bounce and metallic/mechanic swing of Itals take on Marshmellow Yellow. Bring it on baroque with Xander Harris Sly and Dario giallo-reggae revision of Birds of Paradise. Innergaze hi-five the minimal wave of All The Sun That Shines, transforming the original into a syncopated psych-out dark-disco-dose FX fest. And Cuticles got the bleary bleep-bloop best of sweet serenade Tiger Eyes with Casio keyed-up flourishes, hi-hat space jams, and damp ramp-up breakdowns. Artist: LES RALLIZES DENUDES
Title: Yodo-Go-A-Go-Go
Format: CD
Label: 10th Avenue Freeze Out
Country: Europe
Price: $17.50
"AKA Flightless Bird Needs Water Wings. The beginners guide to Les Rallizes Denudes! Now available everywhere in the free world!" "Seemingly endless sonic flame-throwers of phased white noise streak across your inner landscape, as stupidly loud and overly-backlit lead guitar emissions perpetrated by a perpetually be-shaded longhair pummel the similarly be-shaded but barely adequate musical backing that sags and creaks under the wattage. Occasionally, lead vocals of a singular variety are provided by said be-shaded mad axeman, whose paranoid personality ensures all songs are delivered in a voice of querulous subterranean gargling from beyond the valley of Alan Vega. My giddy aunt, whats this, then, a Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy from the Underworld? A rough guide to Japrocks most intuitive non-career movers? Has the worlds most revolutionary rocknroll band released a compilation album of leader Mizutanis most frequently requested tracks due to overwhelming popular demand? Ja, mein hairies, this certainly seems to be the case. For, with the arrival of this superb Flightless Bird compilation, obsessive fans of Les Rallizes Denudés (are there any other kinds?) finally have a proper early career overview of Mizutani & Co. at their fingertips, a 70-minute-long super distillation of this most contrary of bands choicest musical moves executed between 1967-82, a superb sounding and partly/mostly chronological trawl through the freaked out and perpetually-yelping mindscape of singer and avant-avalanche guitarmonger Mizutani, and his sinister-yet-interchangeable pool of black clad world-to-rights acolytes." --Head Heritage

Title: Time
Format: Double LP
Label: 180 Proof
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"Rare jazz from the legendary Detroit jazz label Strata Records, Inc. Remastered from the original master reel to reel tapes. Following on the heels of Kenny Coxs previously unreleased Clap Clap! The Joyful Noise, 180 Proof Records continues to bring new life to the Strata Inc. catalog with Larry Nozeros 1975 passion project, Time. The last album to be released on Strata Inc., Time is a dream-like mix of mood, an album full of range, tempo, and feeling; from the impulsive and airy rendition of the jazz standard All the Things You Are to the brooding melancholia of Tony, Nozeros Time is destined to become known among aficionados as a classic of 1970s jazz. Like time itself, each song is open to individual interpretation - something Nozero himself confessed to on the albums original liner notes, saying It got so deep that we decided to call the group and our album after that concept of Time, because it seemed to mean something to just about everyone." -180 Proof.

Artist: DEEBANK, MAURICE
Title: Inner Thought Zone
Format: LP
Label: 1972
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"MAURICE DEEBANK recorded his instrumental solo debut for the seminal Cherry Red imprint in 1984 while still the guitarist in FELT, the pastoral English pop group led by the notorious eccentric Lawrence Hayward (best known simply as Lawrence). Felts early albums Crumbling the Antiseptic Beauty, The Splendour of Fear and Ignite the Seven Cannons and Set Sail for the Sun were marked by melancholy guitar interplay and a lofty pop sensibility, but Inner Thought Zone illustrates how significant Deebanks role was in crafting Felts signature sound. Seven-minute album centerpiece "Silver Fountain of Paradise Square" and "Study No. 1" make beautiful use of supple arpeggios whimsically bent into cyclical structures in and around which Deebank weaves solos. His performance is nuanced and dynamic, undermining his own technical skill for the sake of expression, and its easy to hear Inner Thought Zone as an exposition of the increasing introspection that led to his departure from Felt. Glistening chords, synthesizer flourishes and breezy plateaus of exaltation collide with the sense of loss and isolation generally explored by Deebanks peers in the post-punk era, but rarely with as much impeccable grace and finesse. First-ever domestic release. Includes liner notes." - 1972.

Artist: SPECTRUM
Title: Forever Alien
Format: Double LP
Label: 1972
Country: USA
Price: $29.00
"When Spacemen 3 -- the seminal, drone-indulgent English psych duo comprised of Peter Kember and Jason Pierce -- split in 1991, Pierce shuffled off to acclaim in Spiritualized. Meanwhile, Kember charted a less predictable course. As Sonic Boom, he released Spectrum in 1990, then, after taking a liking to that handle, released Soul Kill (Glide Divide) as Spectrum in 1992. Kemper alternated between those monikers and Experimental Audio Research (E.A.R.) throughout the 1990s, building a rich, probing catalog of synth and electronic explorations of which 1997s Forever Alien is an undeniable high point. With theremin, vocoder, and an array of modular analog synthesizers (depicted lovingly in the cover art) Kemper, along with Alf Hardy and Pete Bassman, fused kosmische abstraction and the pulsation of minimalist composition to more traditional psych elements epitomized by early Pink Floyd. Landing between the unfettered experiments of E.A.R. and Spacemen 3s songcraft (How Does it Feel? is scarily reimagined), Kemper crafts unnerving atmosphere on the title track and an enduring catalog high point on the consummate opener, Feels Like Im Slipping Away. Forever Alien leaves no doubts about the reasons for Kempers sought-after production today (he played a vital role for Animal Collective and sculpted Panda Bears most recent album) -- nor the essential status of his post- Spacemen 3 output." - 1972.

Artist: ZORN, JOHN
Title: Naked City
Format: LP
Label: 1972
Country: USA
Price: $26.00
"Regularly hailed as one the most important composers of the late 20th century, John Zorn is comfortable at the helm of an ensemble, as improviser on an array of instruments, and as a bold theorist of collaboration. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the New York artist and operator of the esteemed Tzadik label became known for assembling hardcore-inflected jazz ensembles and for devising game systems, or intricate musical conditions intended to force players into new territory. Released in 1990 on Nonesuch, Naked City bears a stark cover photograph by Weegee -- noted for his unsparing images of New York crime scenes -- and features one of the more staggering rock lineups ever assembled: Zorn on alto saxophone, guitarist Bill Frisell, bassist Fred Frith, drummer Joey Baron, keyboardist Wayne Horvitz, and vocalist Yamatsuka Eye. Naked City is a maelstrom of styles, veering recklessly between country, noise, New Orleans R&B, polka, and grindcore, with overtures from detective shows and film noir. In other words, its a daring maelstrom of American musical vernacular. It also explodes the rock formats supposed limitation and retains a wildly intersectional listenership: devotees of punk, free jazz, and harsh noise celebrate Naked City. In short, as one writer put it, Naked City remains a pinnacle of avant coolness." - 1972.

Title: Technology Of Sleep
Format: LP
Label: 20 City
Country: New Zealand
Price: $13.50
"New Zealand expat Richard Francis, now residing in Tokyo, lands on the shores of our senses with his one full length release for 2000, Technology of Sleep. Francis has been long active downunder in the world of NZ underground tape and acetate labels. After recording with the short lived guitar noise band Small Blue Torch (with Birchville Cat Motels Campbell Kneale), Francis set sails for the orient where he has been releasing a steady stream of tracks on CD and acetate record. Sleep indicates a development in style from the drone and loop releases of previous years. More compositional in approach, Steel works a gentle blend of natural and artificial field materials including high frequency pitches, deep bass and minute scratches of sound sourced from the natural environment, household appliances, and body movements. At times a combination of the noise from ones surroundings, as well as the natural pops and clicks of the vinyl are beckoned into the compositions through the spatial arrangement of sounds and Steels interesting use of altering volume. Recognizable but also unfamiliar, the territory mapped by Sleep sits comfortably in the electo-acoustic region of sound making, background or foreground."

Artist: FRANCIS, RICHARD
Title: Three Tracks
Format: 3" CD
Label: 20 City
Country: New Zealand
Price: $8.00
"New Zealand sound artist Richard Francis (aka Eso Steel), is the third artist released on cmr and the first 3⿝ CD from the label. Richard has been involved with experimental music since 1996 when he began his first solo excursions (combining tape looped instrumentation with field recordings) and played in a guitar improvisation group with Birchville Cat Motels Campbell Kneale, called Small Blue Torch. His sound making since then has explored different techniques of CD sampling and abstraction, with a focus on electroacoustic collection and abstraction/manipulation of field recordings from various natural and mechanical sound sources. He has released sound works on labels such as Last Visible Dog, USA; Drone Records, Germany; Stateart, Germany; Absurd, Greece, with numerous releases on his own labels 20city and CMR, and has toured extensively in Japan, New Zealand, and most recently the West Coast of the US. Three Tracks (co-released by CMR, New Zealand and Stateart, Germany) contains three compositions recorded mid to late 2001 in Japan (where Richard formally resided) and mixed in mid 2002 in New Zealand. Using contact and stereo microphones, field audio material was gathered from organic and mechanical sources, found in both interior and exterior locations in and around Tokyo. Richard uses the subtle elements of these recordings (quiet electrical hums and crackle, amplified ambient near silences, minute occurrences) and carefully abstracts and arranges them into texturally detailed, engaging compositions. Three Tracks sits nicely in Richards catalogue of audio manipulation, following a well received 7⿝ (under his moniker Eso Steel) on Drone Records, and an LP on 20city." - 20 City.

Artist: KUWAYAMA-KIJIMA
Title: 00/10/17d-00/10/17e
Format: 7"
Label: 20 City
Country: Japan
Price: $6.50
"Midnight at a construction site in Naogoya, Japan, large and particularly loud fan vent whirling, Kuwayama Kiyoharu and Kijima Rina hit record and begin to play. Kuwayama uses a cello and Kijima a violin. Its an eerie setting to be recording, and the improvisations that flow from their instruments carry this beautifully. Setting seems to be a fairly important part of their recording technique as their full length cd, available on GG Records (www.lethe-voice.com/gg), was recorded in a large Warehouse. The space around them in those recordings is also very clear. Some truely fabulous stuff from this improv duo. Kijima Rina has a number of solo tapes out, Kuwayama Kiyoharu is very active in a number of groups in Nagoya. Together they organise the annual week-long Lethe-Voice Festival in Nagoya which brings together a diverse collection of Japanese and international sound makers. Kuwayamas solo work also featured on the split 7" with Toy.Bizarre (20C-5) under the name Lethe." - 20 City. Edition of 300 copies.

Artist: NEHIL, SETH
Title: Uva
Format: 3" CD
Label: 20 City
Country: New Zealand
Price: $8.00
"20 City is proud to release Uva, a new CD by sound artist Seth Nehil. In the field of electroacoustic music, Nehil is perhaps best known for his longstanding partnership with John Grzinich and Olivia Block as Alial Straa, formed in 1994. Nehil also participated in the Orogenetics arts collective together with Michael Northam and John Grzinich, operating in Austin, Texas from 1996-99. Now based in Portland, Oregon, Nehil continues to collaborate with Grzinich, Northam and Block in sound, performance and organization. Seth Nehil possesses an uncanny ability to create a wealth of sounds using innovative recording and performance techniques, without relying on effects boxes and processors. He creates complex sound environments that are subtle, clear and close. His sounds seem to emphasize the very silence that surrounds them, creating an infinite space for the listeners imagination to roam. Uva presents one track, just over 20 minutes in length. Objects in motion, a complex layering of textures, circular sounds and harmonies that intensify and recede... these are the constituent parts of this engaging new work. The term "uva" means grape, associated with ferment and intoxication, and is also associated with "ova" (the womb, birth, new forms). Uva thus implies the intoxication of new forms, the pleasure and disorienting quality of this music, the ferment of its creation, and the birth of its reception through the ear." - Richard di Santo.

Price: $14.50
"A year in the making, The Earth Is Blue is Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yangs most intimate and accomplished record to date. Delicate harmonies and intricate melodic lines dominate the albums ten tracks, all of which were recorded in the duos home studio. Michio Kurihara flew in from Japan, where he provides the guitar playing for the genius psych-folk of Ghost, and added another layer of inspiration to the songs. Also contributing are trumpeter Greg Kelley and soprano saxophonist Bhob Rainey of Bostons nmperign. Along with eight original songs, the group beautifully interprets While My Guitar Gently Weeps by George Harrison and Araca Azul by Caetano Veloso. Title: Shortwavemusic
Format: CD
Label: 2062
Country: USA
Price: $13.50
Re-issue after 10 years (first issue on CD), originally released in limited edition LP in 1997 on Noton (now Raster-Noton). Full length CD with bonus track not on original LP. "The works on Shortwavemusic resulted from a series of experiments in 1982 using lo-fi technology to extract sounds from the airwaves and weave them into musical tapestries. Using two reel-to-reel decks from the 60s, a radio and a shortwave radio, Basinski recorded samples of music from the radio, edited the tape into loops of varying lengths, and slowed them down. These themes were then layered together in real time to an accompaniment of randomly shifting shortwave radio static. The themes explored were often brief excerpts [3 or 4 notes] from muzak-type string versions of American popular standards. By manipulating these themes and mixing them with an existing symphony of electronic information, Basinski has created a series of glacial, atmospheric aural landscapes for the listener to inhabit. The music is timeless and compelling - a remarkably original experimental music album." -2062.

Artist: DUNCAN, JOHN & CARL MICHAEL VON HAUSSWOLFF
Title: Our Telluric Conversation
Format: CD
Label: 23 Five
Country:
Price: $22.00
"The second collaborative album from John Duncan and Carl Michael von Hausswolff. This is an album which Duncan describes as having been galvanized by magnetism. In a semantic sleight of hand, Duncan and Hausswolff reveal magnetism through a duality of meanings. One on hand, they speak of the physical phenomenon of charged objects that exert an attraction or repulsion upon other objects; yet on the other, magnetism can be defined as the psychological influence wielded by charismatic individuals. Our Telluric Conversation maps out the complexities that emerged through the collaborative pursuits of these venerated sound artists. The tools that the two employed for Our Telluric Conversation are common to their respective catalogues of recordings, with Duncan bringing his shortwave, data streams, and uncanny use of the human voice while Hausswolff employed oscillators, sonar, and wire tapping microphones. The album opens with the mechanical rotation of modulated sonar, providing a hypnotic pulse which slowly submits to an obstinate surge of rumbling noise, that in turn collapses into focused white-noise turbulence and tone-bent SSB transmissions. All of this abruptly detours with a protracted spoken narrative from Hausswolff who whispers a Pynchonesque text about a maggot-infested individual who seeks to remedy his affliction by communing with cobras and geckoes. Afterwards, Duncan and Hausswolff entertain the seduction of the long-form drone constructions; however, their sublime minimalism is so brilliant in its beauty as to be piercingly acute through the purity of honed sinewaves. The final entry from their Conversation is the perfect marriage of the established Duncan and Hausswolff aesthetics, with a spare low-frequency hum deadening the sonic architecture before a static charge of crackled ether supplements the auditory smoldering. Our Telluric Conversation stands as a bold, expressive piece of sound art, confident in its multiplicity of perspectives caught in a constant flux of attraction and repulsion. The recording comes with a 40-page booklet with an interview between Duncan and Hausswolff about their histories, ideas, and methodologies; furthermore, the packaging is completed by a curiously tactile O-card, which has been embossed with braille and covered with a rubbery coating."

Title: Vinyl Anthology
Format: Double CD
Label: 23 Five
Country: Australia
Price: $22.00
"In 1986, an Australian fellow by the name of Andrew Curtis posted an advertisement in a couple of record shops around Melbourne expressing a desire to start a band with somebody who shared his interests in Industrial music. The only person who answered the ad was Philip Samartzis, who has since gone on to international acclaim for his pristine electro-acoustic compositions published through Staalplaat, Synaesthesia, and Dorobo. Back in the late 80s, the Curtis and Samartzis collaboration resulted in the aurally volatile project simply called Gum. With little expertise or training, the two gathered up what objects they were familiar with, in particular thrift store turntables and soiled records. Eschewing their original attraction to the giants of Industrial Culture, Gum quickly developed an aesthetic privileging the caustic rupture of skipping records and smoldering surface noise, predating the current avant-turntablist aficionados like Philip Jeck, Janek Schaefer, and Otomo Yoshihide. Within a handful of recordings made during the brief span between 1986 and 1990, Gum piled thick layers of electrically charged static channeled from their locked grooves. These spiraling repetitions and arrhythmic palpitations were suspended in the instant moment of ecstatic release as an infinite crash of overstimulation. Thanks to RRR and Korm Plastics who had published Gum tracks on a couple of 7" compilations, Gum received a considerable amount of notoriety during the last gasps of pre-digital cassette culture. Since then, the two parted ways with Curtis turning his passions to photography and Samartzis infecting his students at RMIT with his cravings for immersive and tactile experiences through sound. Yet, Gums Frankensteinian grooves had remained a secret history within the prolific oeuvre of Australian sound art. With the publication of Gums Vinyl Anthology, 23five, Inc uncovers the bulk of Gums work, including all of the material from their self-published albums Vinyl and 20 Years in Blue Movies and Yet to Fake an Orgasm as well as those aforementioned compilation tracks and plenty of unreleased material." - 23Five.

Format: CDR
Label: 23 Productions

Price: $10.00
"Early in the Summer of 06, Clay Rubys Zodiac Mountain did a short U.S. tour, showering the people with roots rock, heavenly boogie, atmospheric spirituals, cryptic blues and the occasional classic cover tune. This incarnation of Zodiac Mountain was a collaboration between Clay Ruby and Wooden Wand, featuring jams with Nate Nelson (Mouthus, Religious Knives), Robert Beatty (Eyes and Arms of Smoke, Hair Police), and Maya Miller (Religious Knives, Double Leopards). 5 songs, over an hour of red, white and blue BLISS from two of the heaviest, gun toting, bourbon soaked, BBQ breathd road warriors east of the Mississippi. This material is a far departure from the intense heathen rituals and bleak folk songs of Zodiac Mountains "Lake Winnebago" demos, and nothing like the newest Zodiac Mountain recording project in progress, which is wrapping itself up like some kinda amphibious Crash Worship services. Also, it should be noted that this is not the same band as the ZODIACS (the heavy rock band with forthcoming CD on Holy Mountain), although it is rumored that both bands feature many of the same members." - 23 Productions.

Long jams that bring to mind such wild ones as German Oak, Magic Muscle and that foggy dream you had where The Stooges covered "Space Ritual" start to finish. Led by the mysterious Zodiac Speedcreep, whos credited as handling drums, organ and vocals all at the same time, Zodiacs burn a heavy trail back to the days where outlaw biker clubs roasted and consumed whole horses in celebration of the wild life. Title: Sub
Format: Double CD
Label: 23Five
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"MARC ZEIERs first major album since the cryptic electro-acoustic Reuters (Tochnit Aleph 2008) is a sprawling masterpiece of modern day musique concrete, reflecting the early pioneers use of razor cut tape with a grandiose revelation of an existential horror. Zeier describes is as a manifestation of amorphous conditions that lead to (or interfere with) representational forms or states of being. For every malignant drone and turgid thrum, Zeier punctures fluttering, frozen methane surfaces with jagged incisions, pneumatic hammerings, and decompressed gasps. This fragmented punctuation is a signature to the G*PARK aesthetic, used effectively in mapping clinical situations turned septic. The exact nature of the sound object is informed more by a shadowy deconstruction than by a direct representation, thrust into an absurd existence as an abomination, a violation, a monster." -23Five.

Format: 3" CDR
Label: 267 Lattajjaa

Price: $8.50
"Farmyard Tapes" is a bit different from other Skullpture recordings. Its not dark and gloomy at all, but warm and almost joyful drone, at least on our scale (its not that we try to be darkngloomy, thats just the way our music most often comes out - were happy and funny lads really). It was also recorded at a different place than our other recordings, in a small shed instead of a large hall with concrete walls, and also with slightly different equipment. These track were originally supposed to be released on a split cdr with another band on another label, but unfortunately that never came about. Anyway, our thanks go to Hannu for the chance to get this music finally available to public, and although not your typical Skullpture, I think its a fine addition to our discography and your collection. The lyrics are about... umm... go and figure it out by yourself! Grooves like an epileptic stroboscope-washing machine.  3. jacks holiday - Inspired by lounge organist Jack Malmstens track Satan Takes A Holiday. An acid casualty second cousin of Gershon Kingsleys Pop Corn. 4. clear - Calm before the storm. 5. emperor of dreams (for clark ashton smith) - The irritating vapors are back. Title: Peri
Format: LP + CD
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"In early 2008, Bardo Pond and Three Lobed Recordings teamed up to assemble Batholith, a collection of tracks that were close to the bands heart but for various reasons had never been released. The result was an extremely cohesive and vital statement that was positively received by both old and new Bardo Pond fans. During the compilation of Batholith, the band had to agonize over the wealth of material that they were sitting on in constructing the ultimate tracklisting -- there were too many good songs. The band approached this problem by structuring two sister albums, Batholith and Peri, each possessing their own musical themes and each fully capable of standing independent from the other. For this reason, Peri is every bit as potent as its predecessor. The meticulous sequencing of Peris five tracks provides a classic Bardo Pond experience. While the initial description of the material might lead one to think that these tracks are outtakes or cutting-room floor type material, neither conclusion could be further from the truth. The band is quite excited to finally see all of the material on Peri venture into the public. For example, Chicken Gun will be recognizable to the bands longtime fans. A former live staple from 1996 through 1998 (even making an appearance in the bands set at the first Terrastock festival), it is a propulsive and fiery rocker every bit as monumental as some of the bands classics such as lb. and Tommy Gun Angel. The Path is a subtle number featuring floating flute work from Isobel Sollenberger. The album-closing Silver Pavilion is the sort of meditative psychedelia that has been Bardo Ponds calling card over their lengthy career. The track dates to the bands extremely fertile, yet barely documented, period between the release of Dilate and On the Ellipse. ;Silver Pavilions slow, enveloping build properly see the listener to the door and is reminiscent of such flawless Bardo closing tracks as RM, Aldrin and Night Of Frogs. Peri is pressed on 180g RTI vinyl and is housed within heavy old-style one-pocket Stoughton gatefold jackets bearing new collage work from Michael Gibbons." -3Lobed

Charles Speer & the Helix (including his vocal turns on both Life Insurance off Distillation and Bar-Abbas Blues off the In Madagascar 7"). Title: Distillation
Format: LP + CD
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"It is a tremendous understatement to say that it is with grand excitement that Three Lobed Recordings is proud to announce the release of Distillation by D. Charles Speer & the Helix. For the last couple of years we have been continually excited by each of the fruits that have resulted from Speer/Helix collaboration. For our money, 2008s After Hours album was one of the best released by anyone. Distillation only ups the ante from that prior full length by elaborating upon some of the musical themes from the late 2008 In Madagascar 7". The resulting album presents a tightly focused modern honky tonk quintet more than happy to blur the lines between country, psychedelia and the overall American musical tradition. Consisting on this album of D. Charles Speer (aka Dave Shuford from the No Neck Blues Band and Enos Slaughter), Hans Chew (last seen providing some ripping piano accompaniment on Fishtown Flower from Jack Roses The Black Dirt Sessions), Marc Orleans (Enos Slaughter, Sunburned Hand of The Man), Jason Meagher (No Neck Blues Band, Coachfingers) and Rob Gregory (the Suntanama), the Helix are a seriously experienced and talented crew. Distillation was recorded over time between the winter and summer of 2008 at the bands home away from home, Meaghers Black Dirt Studios in Westtown, New York. Includes a limited edition glass-mastered CD titled Of Snow Smoked Moose presenting a full, killer live set from the full band recorded on April 25, 2008 at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. This CD is not available separately." - 3Lobed. Gatefold sleeve.

Artist: GOLDEN GUNN
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Originally engaged as a fanciful and casual collaboration between Hiss Golden Messenger and Steve Gunn, under the newfound artistic direction of Mr. Silk, Golden Gunn instead gradually developed into something more singular, evocative, and visionary. Trading loose concepts and recordings back and forth across state and Mason-Dixon lines, Taylor, Hirsch, and Gunn conjured these tunes in response to the rhythm tracks Dickie programmed on his antique drum machine. When they could reach him, Dickie weighed in with elliptical comments and encouragement but his flip phone was always breaking, and by the time they were ready for mixdown, he was reportedly in Malaysia. Formally speaking, the largely instrumental album includes some new selections and confections from each of the players which were then transformed through the amber BluBlockers of Dickie Silk and honed into an altogether stranger collaborative session vibe, copping feels from Silk favorites like J.J. Cale, Waylon Jennings, Boz Scaggs, and the Average White Band." -3Lobed.

Gunns songcraft is so strong and his playing style so effortlessly beautiful that folks should be shouting his name from every tall building and mountaintop. It is with such high esteem for the mans work that Three Lobed Recordings is humbled by the association and thrilled to announce the release of Boerum Palace by Steve Gunn. Without any doubt, Boerum Palace is a staggering accomplishment and is certainly Gunns most assured and confident work to date." -3Lobed.

Artist: GUNN-TRUSCINSKI DUO
Title: Ocean Parkway
Format: LP
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $21.00
"Ocean Parkway covers a great deal of sonic territory. For all of the slow, furious build of both the albums opening and closing tracks, there are also tracks featuring a substantial bit of playful and hypnotically mesmerizing phrasing (Banh Mi Ringtones), acoustic twelve string-centric strolls (Dont Lean On Door) and the full-on rollicking rockers (County Fair Getaway). Both players are on the absolutely top of the game throughout the totality of every track. For each shimmering moment of guitar genius from Gunn, Truscinski -- the perfect percussive foil -- fills the exact and right space around him. It is breathtaking to listen to these near-telepathic instances unfold. While these flashes were around every turn on Sand City and contained reminiscences of the most potent moments of both Fantasias-era Sandy Bull and the more guitar-centric Sun City Girls albums, they move to yet another level on Ocean Parkway. This album demonstrates that they have fully moved into their own sphere with their own completely signature sound. This is unmistakably a Gunn-Truscinski Duo album." -3Lobed.

"Three Lobed Recordings is extremely excited to be releasing Sand City, a blistering new collection of original compositions from Steve Gunn and John Truscinski, otherwise known as the Gunn-Truscinski Duo. Steve Gunn is one of the most exciting American guitarists working today. His solo discography, as well as his work with GHQ, should be well known to folks who have followed Three Lobed Recordings over the past several years. Percussionist John Truscinski is a stalwart of the American underground in his own right through his dedicated work in X.O.4 (with Bill Nace and Jake Meginsky), Slaughterhouse Percussion, as well as with GHQ (as last seen on the outfits Everywhere At Once from the Oscillation III series). Sand City is an extremely mature and thoughtfully-crafted album that conjures some of the most potent moments of both Fantasias-era Sandy Bull and the more guitar-centric Sun City Girls albums while firmly charting its own raga-based territory. It is an exceptionally strong collection that should leave listeners rapt for years to come. Hand-numbered edition of 624." -3Lobes

Price: $22.00
"Theyre back. Heavy Winged has continued to stretch their leathery, scarred, er, wings and grow since their last release for Three Lobed Recordings, 2008s Alive In My Mouth. The band was determined to make Fields Within Fields into a significant part of their discography from the very outset. In October 2009, the band decided to enter the 5D Studios in Brooklyn to engage in what would be a first-time experiment - recording in a multi-track studio with overdubs planned from the sessions start. Prior to this experience the bands entire catalog was centered on displaying their ferocious live spirit. Having already proven themselves to be adept at creating grand and heavy statements in an improvised, one-take-only setting, they felt that were ready for the challenge of being both improvisational and composition-minded. The band hunkered down for the session and even brought in some friends to help augment the Heavy Winged vibe. Their time in 5D yielded the two dark fruits which combine to form Fields Within Fields. Brutal and hard, Among The Maori leads the album off and encompasses the entire first side of vinyl. The track opens with a slow, deliberate fade into Jed Bindemans (Eternal Tapestry, Jackie-O Motherfucker) tribal drumbeat. This beat may start controlled but the tracks velocity and volume continue to accelerate, eventually turning Among The Maori into a highly tuned jet engine. Ryan Heberts guitar playing is exceptional throughout, beginning with an initial prolonged banshee-like wailing and slowly building and fully giving way to a fantastically cranking and grinding post-metallic din by the tracks conclusion. Among The Maori stands out among the bands entire catalog as perhaps their truest moment. The albums second side is fully dedicated to the drone doom opus The Hum Of The Universe." Includes insert and bonus CD entitled Infinite In Every Direction." -3Lobed

Format: LP + CD
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"With each successive release, MV & EE strive to map new territory and to travel more distant orbits. It makes sense that this mission is their furthest reaching yet. While theyve long been comfortable navigating the same planes as such cosmic explorers as Sun Ra and Alan Silva, Fuzzweed sees them planting their freak flag in the sorts of different galaxies where the atmospheres counterpoint the music of the spheres with the more earthbound plaints of the blues. Please remember that The Golden Record that NASA sent up with Voyager back in more optimistic times included Dark Was The Night. That concept -- listening to Blind Willie Johnson in space -- strikes me as an apt analogy for what this Fuzzweed accomplishes on every spin. Includes bonus live CD (Live at Zebulon Residency January 2011)." -Pete Coward.

Title: The Emerald Tablet
Format: LP
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $21.00
"Rhyton is an experimental/improv/psych trio based in Brooklyn that features Dave Shuford (D. Charles Speer and the Helix, No Neck Blues Band), Jimy SeiTang (Psychic Ills) and Spencer Herbst (Messages, Matta Llama). Rhyton pours out a sonic libation unto the liberated world. Waveforms ring out, alternately frozen and blazing, wrenched from an improvisational method. They seek to loosen the gaze so as to widen focus, taking the unity in hand, not grabbing for the micro-constituent. Using the dynamic levels of rock, Rhyton carve out an edifice of sound on their debut LP that centers upon repetition and modal excursion." - 3Lobed.

Artist: ROSE, JACK
Title: The Black Dirt Sessions
Format: LP
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Lets get the dirty work over with first. The Black Dirt Sessions is, all hyperbole aside, Jack Roses most complete and telling work to date. Those who have been following this Philadelphia wanderers development and growth as a solo artist (both live and on record) know that such a statement is strong praise, as Roses catalog is certainly not devoid of unqualified classics. The album takes its title from the studio where it was recorded -- Jason Meaghers Black Dirt Studios located in Westtown, New York. Old friends Rose and Meagher developed a good working relationship and full understanding of each others work habits and styles over the course of a spring 2008 joint tour between Rose and one of Meaghers bands, D. Charles Speer & The Helix. Rose, that eternal road warrior, booked some time at Black Dirt between tours in August, September and October of 2008 to lay down some new and fully realized material. This album is the complete result of those sessions. Roses prior albums have tended to both pick and remain true to a musical theme. The Black Dirt Sessions excels by displaying fully-honed examples of all of Roses various styles and themes -- traditional, raga and ragtime. Central to the albums spirit is the absolutely epic Cross the North Fork. This thirteen-minute revisiting of a track first laid down on the great Kensington Blues is a winding, thoroughly engrossing journey. This new version is the product of Roses perfectionist streak, which constantly pushes him to re-explore and re-visit his prior works. As presented on The Black Dirt Sessions, the new track is full of rich nuances from Roses years of additional scrutiny of the original composition. Much like Rose himself, Cross The North Fork is certainly comfortable in its skin and helps make it a welcome neighbor to the albums other splendid joys ranging from the jaunty and infectious Fishtown Flower (featuring a guest appearance from D. Charles Speer & The Helixs Hans Chew on ragtime piano) to the pensive and appropriate melancholy punch of Box Of Pine. The albums artwork is somewhat of the yin to the yang of Roses 2008 release on Three Lobed Recordings, I Do Play Rock And Roll. Bearing the same overall design aesthetic as that prior release, albeit presented in a contrasting white with black print, The Black Dirt Sessions features a photo of Rose performing in New York in 2006. The LP is pressed on 180g RTI vinyl and housed within an old style high gloss Stoughton cover. The record is from a one-time pressing of approximately 2,000 copies." -3Lobed

Title: Lun Marquer Contre la Moissonneuse
Format: CD
Label: 3Lobed
Country: USA
Price: $13.50
"Over the course of their recording career, Wooden Wand And The Vanishing Voice have proven to be a multi-faceted and difficult to define. They have successfully allowed the body of their work to be cryptic, proto-spiritual, emotionally bare, brashly exuberant and, throughout it all, completely entrancing. Their discography, which contains numerous cassettes, CDRs and a little bit of vinyl -- all of which display their twisted and droning take on psychedelic folk -- has been constantly evolving and has seen each of their superb releases build upon the strengths of its immediate predecessor. Lun Marquer Contre la Moissonneuse is an exploration of the goodness inherent in the human heart and how that decency can help transform the world into a better place. Sound grandiose? Well, revolutions do begin with ambition. Long-held beliefs state that every morning that one rises from bed they have cheated Death once more through the grace of God. Through the extension of this theme, every good deed a person performs during those waking hours may very likely stand as a mark against the Reaper on the great cosmic score sheet. Wooden Wand And The Vanishing Voice have collected these four tracks recorded in various locations over the fall of 2004 to act as a sonic testament to this principal." - 3Lobed.

Artist: BASHO, ROBBIE
Title: The Seal Of The Blue Lotus
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Originally released on John Faheys Takoma Records in 1965, The Seal Of The Blue Lotus is the debut album from American guitar soli legend Robbie Basho. In college Basho immersed himself in the study of Asian art and culture, even changing his last name to that of the Japanese poet Matsuo Basho, and his music shows a much greater Eastern influence than contemporaries like John Fahey and Peter Lang. Basho was particularly entranced by the raga form which is apparent in classics like Dravidian Sunday from this album. A guitar solo masterwork." - 4 Men With Beards. On 180 gram vinyl.

"Originally recorded and released in 1977, this pioneering ambient album brought together several legends of progressive electronic music: Brian Eno, solo artist and collaborator with David Bowie, Robert Fripp, and Roxy Music; Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius aka Cluster, both of whom made dozens of ground-breaking recordings throughout the 70s; and Conny Plank, who recorded everyone from Neu! to Ash Ra Tempel to Devo. This album was the first of several celebrated collaborations between these artists, whose influence looms over such current bands as Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, and Mouse On Mars." - 4 Men With Beards.

Title: America
Format: Double LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $30.00
"Originally released in 1971, America is one of the artistic high points of John Faheys career. And yet, for nearly 30 years it was not heard in its entirety, as what was originally intended as a double album was pared down to a single LP. 4 Men With Beards is proud to present the complete America double album, released on vinyl for the first time ever. Fahey himself had this to say about America: "Out of all the songs I ever wrote, I consider only two of them epic or classic or in the great category and they are both on this record." Deluxe gatefold packaging that includes a reproduction of the original illustrated booklet. 180 gram vinyl." - 4 Men With Beards.

Title: Blind Joe Death Volume 1
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
180-gram vinyl. "For several years major labels had been issuing records in both mono and stereo formats. By 1967 Takoma was doing well enough financially to justify the recording of Faheys first and second albums for the burgeoning stereo market. Thus Vol.1: Blind Joe Death, as the record would be titled henceforth, was recorded for the third time and it is probably this release that most people are familiar with today. For the new version Fahey recorded all but one song on the album. He recorded one new track for the reissue: “Im Gonna Do All I Can for My Lord.” His new take of the Episcopal hymn “In Christ There Is No East or West” would become the most well-known and oft-played song on the album." - 4 Men With Beards.

Title: Death Chants, Breakdowns, and Military Waltzes
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
180-gram vinyl. "Death Chants is John Faheys second album, following the brilliantly apocryphal Blind Joe Death. As massive as that earlier work was, it represented only a tentative first step towards the fields of hodologic splendor that our hero would go on to create. Death Chants represents a much more fully realized syncretism of the modernist and primitive poles between which Fahey wobbled. It is also the first album he deigned to release entirely under his own name and the one with which he truly began to cast a shadow across the blandly-lit landscape of the worlds subconscious." - 4 Men With Beards.

More than half the albums titles draw from the traditional blues and country repertoire Fahey had spent his teen years and young adulthood collecting, listening to, and learning to play, yet the recordings proved once and for all that his interests lay in musical transfigurations rather than preservation -- Fahey was not afraid to use these old tunes as raw material." - 4 Men With Beards.

"The Voice of the Turtle is one of the most beguiling albums from one of Americas most legendarily beguiling musicians. Originally released in 1968 on his own Takoma label, Fahey credits some of the compositions and performances to the fictional guitarist Blind Joe Death, and some of the songs are actually rumored to not be Fahey at all but in fact obscure blues 78s. Whatever the case may be, its one of Faheys most adventurous and beautiful LPs. In the last 10 years or so those albums have finally begun to get the recognition they deserve, and 4 Men with Beards is proud to be able to bring them back into circulation on 180 gram LP. Title: Time of the Last Persecution
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $23.00
"Time of the Last Persecution is Bill Fays second and final album for the Deram label, originally released in 1971. An absolute classic of melancholy (borderline morbid) folk-rock that falls somewhere between Pearls Before Swine, Leonard Cohen, and a suicide prevention hotline. Time of the Last Persecution is almost single-mindedly obsessed with end times so its fitting that this brilliant album would be his last release for over 30 years. Now that Fay is back with a new and highly lauded album, its high time that his classic, definitive statement, is available again on 180 gram vinyl." -4 Men With Beards.

Price: $20.00
"The first record from San Franciscos legendary Flipper, originally released in 1982. Post-hardcore? Post-punk? Art-rock? Despite being a part of SFs punk scene, Flipper were really only punk in spirit, eschewing conventions and making no concessions. Sludgy, distorted, atonal, noise-rock jams that sound as urgent and heavy as they must have 25 years ago. A huge influence on bands such as Nirvana (their current line-up includes Krist Novoselic on bass) and The Melvins. Album - Generic Flipper contains the classics Sex Bomb, and Life." - Water.

Flipper took the punk tag to extremes, as no other band in the world was playing punk this slow, sludgy, dark and disturbed. Featuring the haunting Survivors Of The Plague and the public incrimination of Sacrifice, Gone Fishin is an art-punk classic that holds up alongside their more heralded debut." -4 Men With Beards

Title: Public Flipper Limited: Live 1980-1985
Format: Double LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $25.00
180 gram vinyl, full color gatefold sleeve with Flipper on tour game insert. "Public Flipper Limited was originally released in 1986 as a double LP of live material culled from 1980-1985. The sound quality and playing are both a grimy, distorted mess, which suits the band just fine. Always alternating between endearing and abrasive, Flipper left no room for the middle ground of like. The album title is a shot at John Lydon and his alleged plagiarism of Flippers artwork for his own PIL and it proves that Flipper was never opposed to alienating its audience, no matter how sanctified. Harsh, art-rock classics from one of SFs most important post-hippy era bands." - 4 Men With Beards

The single version of Sex Bomb is an all-out classic, a frenetic, yelping punk answer to Louie, Louie and the rest is no slouch either -- outrageous, harsh, sludge-punk from San Franciscos finest." -4 Men With Beards.

"Moondogs debut release, originally on the Prestige label, came out in 1956, long after hed become a legendary New York City street performer. The blind Kansas native showcases his talent for the minimal and avant-garde here, with compositions driven by percussion and Japanese-inspired melodies, complimented by street sounds, recitations and animal noises. Bizarre even for todays standards, its a wonder this was released over a half-century ago. A brilliant debut." -4 Men With Beards

Title: The Story Of Moondog
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Originally released on Prestige in 1957, this is the third LP from NYC street performer and avant-garde/minimalist composer Moondog. Perhaps the least accessible of his early releases, this album is made up of percussive jams, usually on instruments of his own creation, street sounds, poetry and Far East melodies, despite opening with a swinging number that is, oddly, the most bizarre thing on the album. Another classic from Moondog reissued with its original Andy Warhol artwork." -4 Men With Beards

The Use of Ashes was recorded in Nashville with the top session musicians of the time including Charlie McCoy, Kenny Buttrey, and Neil Young producer David Briggs. A subversive, tender, moving, goofy, maddening, and profound record. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl." - 4 Men With Beards.

"Michael Rother (half of the influential Krautrock group Neu! and a founding member of Kraftwerk) recorded this first solo album with producer Conny Plank in 1976. Rothers signature guitar sound, the mechanical percussion (Jaki Liebezeit of Can) and the simple yet outerworldly anthemic melodies make Flammende Herzen an outstanding and visionary record." -4 Men With Beards

Title: Ask Me No Questions
Format: LP
Label: 4 Men With Beards
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Her first classic album originally released in 1969 on John Peels legendary Dandelion Records. A wholly acoustic, almost wholly solo folk affair like a female Nick Drake or Nico recording a folk album. A calm, beautiful and somewhat melancholic batch of songs sung in that sunny low register always associated with Bridget make up this beautiful but criminally forgotten debut album. John Martyn adds second guitar and backing vocals while John Peel serves as producer. A magnificent sound picture of pastoral England. 180 gram vinyl." -4 Men With Beards

Title: Ina Hudba: Experimental Studio Bratislava Series 1
Format: LP + CD
Label: 4MG
Country: Slovakia
Price: $25.00
"A milestone; an incredible historical recording never before issued in any format. This is the first release of the work of Slovak composers who were active in the 60s and 70s, a missing link in the history of musique concrète. The first in a series of three released in celebration of the 2015 50th anniversary of the Experimental Studio Bratislava, Slovakia. "In 1965 the Experimental Studio Bratislava was founded by the Czechoslovak broadcast service... Composers like Peter Kolman, Jozef Malovec etc. started on a do it yourself level and built the equipment which was then not available through the Iron Curtain themselves. However, the studios vicinity to Budapest eventually made it easier for the Slovaks to source the equipment they needed as Hungary had a more free interpretation of the socialist marketsystem. The artists were thus able to make improvements that allowed them to experiment with Musique Concrète and electronic sounds... Interestingly Exs had, for various reasons, never released a record in their own name in spite of vivid exchange with likeminded artists in European studios like the Electronic Studio Stockholm (EMS), founded the same year, 1965, Budapest, Warsaw etc. Recordings made in Exs appeared for example on Hungaroton SLPX-11851: Hungarian Electronic Music; Supraphon SUA 10951: Electronic Music; Supraphone 1111423: From Czech Electronic Music Studios; CBS-S3461144: Musique Tchecoslovaque Nouvelle just to mention a few. We therefore feel it is overdue and more than appropriate to let the increasingly interested world of analog electronic music aficionados know about the hidden gems of vintage electronic sounds and Musique Concrète created behind the iron curtain two generations ago. This is our first release -- Experimental Studio Bratislava, Series 1 - 2 - 3 -- in a small series of 3 with unreleased master tracks from Slovak composers recorded in the Exs between 1965 and 2005. The next releases will be out in about 6 months and 12 months, respectively. Each release consists of one vinyl LP with a CD included -- while on the vinyl some of the tracks will be shortened, the same tracks on the CD will always be in full original length" --Peter Doggwiler, producer. Limited numbered edition of 500. Includes tracks by Roman Berger, Pavol Simai, Ilja Zeljenka, Ivan Hrusovský, Jozef Malovec, Miro Bázlik, Ivan Parík, Peter Kolman, and Tadeás Salva." - 4MG.

Title: Nova Generacia: Experimental Studio Bratislava Series 2
Format: LP & CD
Label: 4MG
Country: Slovakia
Price: $25.00
“Its difficult to overstate the unique brilliance of the (almost unknown) early electronic music composers featured on this compilation of seminal, previously unreleased electronic music from the 1980s. Collecting towering analog modular synth shapes and tones with hypnotic acoustic refrains, Nová Generácia is unlike any other kosmische or early electronic record out there. "In 2015 the 50th anniversary of the Experimental Studio Bratislava (Exs) in Slovakia was crowned with the first-ever release of their music production: the LP Iná Hudba, which sold out almost immediately after the release. Now the following Series 2: Nová Generácia presents the second generation of experimental and musique concrète composers from Slovakia and concentrates mostly on works from the 80s. These milestone recordings with an unmeasurable historical value have never been released in any format ever and this is only the second time that avant-garde and experimental electronic Slovak composers have been exposed, united on one medium, to the world. While on Series 1 self-made studio equipment and electronic devices was the norm for recordings made in the 60s and 70s in Bratislava, we can see now the use of Western equipment like the Studer 907 with console etc. used by the Nová Generácia in the 80s. This technical development allowed new composition processes and this new equipment generated new and fresh ideas -- on the same footing as avant-garde composers on the other side of the iron curtain like Karlheinz Stockhausen, György Ligeti, Pietro Grossi, etc. Sound art gradually found its firm place in the Slovak culture. A new generation -- Nová Generácia -- of composers who looked for new and different methods of musical expression. All the recordings are strictly analog -- recorded and produced with analog equipment only! A selection of Slovak electro-acoustic composers who follow the pioneers previously released on Iná Hudba: Experimental Studio Bratislava Series 1" --Peter Doggwiler, producer. Limited numbered edition of 500 LPs with CD included. While most tracks have been shortened to fit on the LP, the CD includes all tracks in their full original length. Includes works by Milan Adamčiak, Martin Burlas, Juraj Pospísil, Víťazoslav Kubička, Rudolf Pepucha, Robert Rudolf, Juraj Ďuris, and Svetozár Stračina.” - 4MG.

"[diddley-bo] -- [horizontal hoe handle harp] -- [ashimba] -- [bamboo fife] -- [twanger] -- [piano] -- [storytelling] -- [mouth-bow] -- [three-stringed fretless banjo] -- [synth + percussion + vocal]. As many 50MOER readers are aware, Cooper-Moore has been active on the creative music scene for over 30 years.  Recordings and gigs with artists such as David S. Ware, William Parker, and Alan Braufman showcased his considerable skills as a pianist.  While this is the source of his greatest notoriety amongst jazzbos, he has also simultaneously developed instruments of his own design and occasionally invention.  Inclusion of some of these instruments with the large ensembles of William Parker, Bill Cole, and Butch Morris gave notice to the jazz world that piano was just one part of a much greater whole that is Cooper-Moores music. A whole lot of it comes together in Cooper-Moores solo performance, a remarkable display of multi-instrumental virtuosity and showmanship.  He plays one beautiful handmade instrument after another in imaginative and exciting ways, all the while offhandedly bantering with the audience and offering tall tales that range from the disarmingly personal to the hilarious.  The musical palette and emotional range of the work is quite broad, incorporating free improvisation, composed tunes, and the nether region in between.  Inspired, the idea for this set was born. 50MOER #4 is five 7" vinyl records, a 16 page booklet with art, photos, + an extensive interview, housed in a custom-made cedar wood box (much the same as the recent "Goodbye Babylon" set) with a branded cover.  This set is a hand-numbered edition of 300.  I cant fathom repressing it. The music: youve got a diddley-bo lament, a mouthbow hymn, a high energy piano improvisation, an effects-laden banjo romp, the discombobulating sound of the twanger, and plenty more.  Minus the story of Reverend Love on side 7 + the overdubbing on side 10, each side of each record features a solo performance on a different instrument.  Among the recording locales were his East Harlem apartment, on a compost heap on Wards Island, on a footbridge, at a gig in Bordeaux, on his fire escape, and other places." - 50 Miles of Elbow Room. Format: 7"

Price: $7.00
"A reissue of the self-titled debut 7-inch from Australias BODYSNATCHERS, originally released in 1979 by Savage Music. Recorded the same day and in the same studio as YOUNG IDENTITIES. "Formed in early 1978, the band were a short lived studio based outfit. ROD  & GAVIN MCLEOD were members of two other local punk outfits THE YOUNG IDENTITIES and JUST URBAIN. When the opportunity arose for a cheap and nasty recording session, the 3 piece decided to fill in the last remaining time slot by cramming in 2 short sharp songs that didnt quite fit in with the sounds arising from the rest of the Brisbane music scene. Drawing on the likes of the Gang of Four, A side Frantic was a re-write of a Just Urbain song while its flipside Mystery is a sped up/hacked up cover of the Velvets Venus in Furs. The record has a jarring sound with the vocals more whispered than yelped, while the vintage drum machine drone adds an additional spectral quality. Above and beyond that, it still has the trademark bass heavy, non production values much loved by the rest of the Savage Music family. Released as a 300 limited edition with photo copied cover in 1979, its sound stands as the odd, stumbling step-kid of the label and the band was never to be seen or heard of again. Frantic mystery indeed!" -540.

Title: Odditties
Format: Double LP
Label: 540
Country: USA
Price: $25.00
"Its interesting to note that by the time most folks in the northern hemisphere got their first taste of The Clean (circa 1985), they all but packed it in. Yep, tis true. 85 was the year of the first great Kiwi invasion (vinyl wise) with the Flying Nun roster leading the way. And there was nary a dud to be found. And such wonderful and unusual names: Tall Dwarfs, Sneaky Feelings, The Puddle, Scorched Earth Policy and of course, The Clean. Their trio of 12" EPs were rabidly devoured by a curious and enthusiastic cognoscenti. You didnt buy one, you bought em all. Same goes for the 7-inchers. And there just wasnt enough. Not only of Clean records, but Clean material! Then one day in some long forgotten order came a copy of the Odditties cassette. The sales rep had included it as a promo, claiming he couldnt shift em (cassette love being at something of a nadir back then). Ill take whatever you got was my reply. And I hadnt even played it yet. But I knew that even though it had gotten runted out on to tape only format, there was no doubt it contained a treasure trove of aural gems. You couldnt help but think that Odditties was to The Clean what Whatever Happens Next was to Swell Maps. Which, more or less, is what it is. Recorded between 1980-82 Odditties is a thorough compendium of alternate takes, addled miscues, riffing zoners and back burner gems. Never easy to come by, even the CD version had scant distro through the 90s. This bunch of songs has been tagged as the ones that got away. But hold on there pard, this story aint done. Cut to 2012 and the inimitable Austin label, Five Four O, has taken up the call and wrangled this behemoth of slippery southern psychedelia into the format it has always so richly deserved: the double LP. Housed in fetching and historical gatefold sleeve to boot." - 540.

Artist: EGO SUMMIT
Title: The Room Isnt Big Enough
Format: LP
Label: 540
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"I can almost remember the day that REP sent me the first issue of this LP. Taking it out of the package I glommed the title, looked at who was participating and snorted appreciatively. EGO SUMMIT-perfect! DON HOWLAND, JIM SHEPARD, RON HOUSE, TOMMY JAY and MICHAEL were all guys whose impact on the world of music (as it is known) was questionable, but all of them were well-known at the sub-underground level, and it was damn certain they all felt like kings! Between them they had created sounds and records that were legendary and influential, but the fact that they were all bums dedicated to living in Columbus, Ohio made the reality of their impact something that was hard to appreciate if you lived further away than Dayton (home of GBV). But as the years peeled away, oddball record collectors (and perhaps, even, the women who love them) have come to appreciate the insane form-moves this cabal of record collectors was up to. By the time of this release, theyd been putting out records for years, with bands as diverse as GIBSON BROS., BASSHOLES, VERTICAL SLIT, V-3, GREAT PLAINS, MIKE REP & THE QUOTA, TRUE BELIEVERS (OH), and in various solo incarnations of one form or another. Each had evolved a dinstinctive sound, redolent of every goddamn record hed ever heard-from Ramblin Thomas to the Twinkeyz to Armand Schaubroeck Steals to Destroy All Monsters, and they were ready to roll it all out. Ego Summit functions like a download of everything theyve ever really loved, from the VUs Live 69 to Quicksilvers cover of Buffy Ste. Maries Codine, all piled up in a beautifully loose garage band jumble. Im never sure whether my fave track is Ron Houses Rise Sherry (with its lazy approximation of the original Contortions slide guitar/bass dualism), Jim Shepards abosultely blown talling-blues, We Got It All (the best experiment in the form since the Minutemens History Lesson Part Two), or Don Howlands Wife Blues (a track that makes every motion by Spencers Blues Explosion extraneous), but the whole goddamn thing is great. A totally superior listen, by a bunch of clowns who were their own best fans. And knew why. Now you do too."- Byron Coley.

Artist: GUTTERIDGE, PETER
Title: Pure
Format: Double LP
Label: 540
Country: USA
Price: $27.00
"PETER GUTTRIDGE is the man who launched a thousand Flying Nun bands. Founding member of THE CLEAN, THE CHILLS, THE GREAT UNWASHED, SNAPPER and THE PUDDLE. Gutteridge released one solo album, Pure, on Xpressway Records in 1989 which was recorded between 1986-1987. Pure is "a collection of fragments and completed songs recorded on a Fostex 4 track. They were all written 2 tape, ideas going down as I made them up. I was my own technician. There were no studio bills or aesthetics 2 deal with. Recording in a studio after this experience was a frustration. Once in a while, I believe u become a kind of channel, even if slightly muddled. The tainted shamen? I dont know. What I can say is this record yer hopefully holding in hand had its genesis long b4 I ever picked up a guitar. Ive always loved a dirty drone. Notes corrupted and split apart by the miracle of the sympathetic note-i.e. Bagpipe, chanters, organs, pianos, ad infinitum. Throw a few clear notes in and you achieve creation on yr own terms. Link it up 2 the background hum of the universe doing its thing and u have hypnosis in a sound. Shmaya. Now a word about distortion-fate smiled on me the day an Alron Doubler fell into my hands. Transistors are indeed wonderful things-that multiplicity of notes generated bespeaking some giant periodic table of the cosmos spewing song out of yr humble speakers. I was always blown away by the sheer variety of directions made possible by this small simple piece of divine circuitry with just 2 knobs! And I had the time, I realized this was the moment. This thing had been breathing through me all my life! The stars were in the right position 2 deliver a dose of cosmic junk 2 the hungry ears of N.Z. (The guys 2 doors along View St, Morley, Merritt and visiting co-conspirators thought the same, getting onto and forming their own opinions and units of corruption. ie. Dead C and other miscellaneous. Details-I havnt really got the patience today-whew Dunedin 1986, 7, & 9, quite a remarkable place)." - 540.

"One of the greatest bands ever to come from the early Australian punk scene which is why they made the number 36 spot on Johan Kugelbergs top 100 DIY 45s.A bunch of guys, all to varying degrees somewhat disengaged from mainstream culture & wanting something different. A bunch of guys living in a then non connected world but willing to make the effort to do something beyond go to the footie or go to the pub, like buy the NME, hang out at the local import shop come together through mutual musical interests & form a band. It took some months and some membership movement but on an unremembered date in 78 JUST URBAIN (& The Young Identities) arrived. So what do you know we take it to the next level in 79-Just Urbain, Young Identities & The Bodysnatchers go into a recording studio & spend an afternoon & a few hundred dollars recording 3 singles & behold not only do we have some singles but our own label is born. Fantastic stuff although it didnt really improve our standing in the local scene. Not that we cared. I wouldnt say we had a lot of attitude but we had enough. You had to make the effort to find us as we werent looking for you." - 540.

"Another in 540s great series of reissues of classic and obscure early Australian punk 45s, this time from Brisbanes JUST URBAIN. A little less rock than a lot of classic Aussie punk, Just Urbain have an absolutely brutal guitar sound thats almost industrial in its drive... it sounds more like a circular saw than a musical instrument, and when you combine that with the primitive bashing of the vocals and rhythm section you get some pretty darn exemplary KBD punk. Title: Time Capsule (1980-2015)
Format: LP/10"/7"/CD/DVD
Label: 541
Country: Belgium
Price: $65.00
"RSD 2015 release. According to big brother internet, a time capsule is "a historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a method of communication with future people and to help future archaeologists, anthropologists or historians." Communication was always at the core of what The Neon Judgement was all about. That and the music, of course; from the word "go" in 1980, TB Frank and Dirk Da Davo were deeply in love with music, provided it had soul, attitude, and swagger. Bo Diddley, The Velvets, early Stones, Suicide, Serge Gainsbourg, Johnny Cash, Marc Bolan, and the Sex Pistols all had it. At the same time though, these two kids from Leuven, a small university town in Belgium, that uncoolest of countries, were determined to create their own turf. And so they did. What followed was a long journey on which soul, attitude, swagger, and communication were translated into jams, songs, and countless gigs that confirmed The Neon Judgements agenda to speak out about things that matter: media manipulation, love, the importance of being ones own, dance if you want to, and, again, love. An unbelievable ride and a rollercoaster of incredible highs, great friendship, and, especially, great music. The band are rightly revered as one of EBMs godfathers, but to limit their influence to that particular niche would be unfair. The Neon Judgement were also about slightly dark pop music, playful experimentation, and injecting some hard-needed rock n roll into an electronic canvas. And, for that, they are and will remain absolutely unique. So yes, a time capsule is definitely in order. And it will be something special: exclusive and distinct best-of compilations on LP and CD; a 7" with previously unreleased radio edits of "TV Treated" and "The Fashion Party"; a 10" with new covers of "Kashmir" (Led Zeppelin), "Venus in Furs" (The Velvet Underground), "Suzie Q" (CCR), "Hot Love" (T. Rex), and "Human Fly" (The Cramps); and a DVD containing the documentary The Neon Judgement "2010a1984" DocuVision, directed and edited by Jeroen Buytaert. And to top it off, a special edition of the Neon Judgement Newspaper: something to brighten up those Sunday mornings, surely! It is, lets admit it, a future music archaeologists wet dream. But its also a way of saying Thank You to all those who embraced The Neon Judgements music. So there it is: Thank you!" - 541.

Double the length and twice the depth of past EXCEPTER releases, Alternation is EXCEPTER looking both ways, a geometric expansion around all the territories marked so far in their brief discography: the primal death trips of Ka, the noise pop tropics of Vacation, the long drone goodnight of Throne, the cool electro doom of Self Destruction and the blasted steam cycle of Sunbomber." - 5RC. The side of post-punk that embraced experimentation but still loved rock n roll. Alternative TV, Swell Maps, The Fall, Wire or a modern equivalent to the type of thing you’d hear on the Can’t Stop It: Australian Post Punk 1978-82 compilation. "Exploding Blue Floor⿦" is one step ahead into Phil Todds hallucinatory travel into the galaxies of the Unknown. A cornucopia of what he has been doing for more than 15 years with unique dedication and passion. Passion is in fact, the first word that came to my mind listening to this music where acid guitar riffs, concrete sounds, delicate acoustic passages and vintage warm electronics, live in absolute symbiosis. Power to the imagination, breaking down the walls between song and improvisation, structure and freedom, melody and noise. Just like looking inside a kaleidoscope, this will be the perfect soundtrack for your daydreams! Blue-night coloured Vinyl, Artwork by Phil Todd and silkscreened by Canedicoda, with insert. Artist: BURNT HILLS
Title: Lights Out
Format: One-Sided LP
Label: 8MM
Country: Italy
Price: $22.00
"Burnt Hills are a collective from Albany, NY. Every monday they use to jam and host shows at the Heldberg basement, which is also the headquarter of Flipped Out Records, exquisite label and mailorder active for 25 years. If you are lucky enough to attend one of their shows, you will probably realize that you are experiencing something more than a concert… Its in fact a proper ritual that finds its perfect expression in a music that combines the freedom of free jazz, the fire of garage rock and the hallucinations of the best psychedelic music. Lights Out is just Burnt Hills at their best. Just a little warm up and the Hills explode like a bomb blowing up continually in a furious jam, where heavy vibrating vocals, pulsating rythm section and wild guitar wipe outs move along with perfect cohesion and fluidity. We are completely sucked into the vortex of this groove when a slow comedown begins to the end of the side, with that great solo guitar pattern drawing the last beaufitul images and then… Lights Out! Paste on covers, with hand stamped label. Limited to 150 copies, numbered." - 8mm.

Title: Live in Lisbon
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $30.00
"What happens when two stars collide? An interstellar collaboration out of this galaxy! Here in this new fantastic LP from Virginia Genta (of Jooklo fame) and Chris Corsano (arguably considered the last drummer on earth), both musicians put blood, sweat, and lots of muscle into three new wildly charged cuts!!!! The album begins at sunset on a terrace in Lisbon (Summer 2008) with ferocious sax and drums escalating as the sun sets with Chris incredible drum solo leaving everyone in a trance, while Virginias vocals evoke the spirits of the birds who join this bizarre duo hypnotized, creating some of the weirdest sounds ever listened! Turn to B side and you are in the streets of Marrakesh, with cobras spitting at you from baskets, donkeys staggering past under the weight of gigantic loads, men crowding around cock fights, yelling at their bets under the din. Then the final moment, with Genta blowing like a volcano in eruption, and Chris hyperkinetic drumming collapsing into pure maniacal machine-gun destruction! Terrific!" -8mm

Title: 15,000 Day Boat Trip
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $26.00
"It happens every so often, something astounding arrives out of nowhere. Like a revelation from another era that has been trapped between dimensions, floating endlessly through the empty layers of space and time and then suddenly arriving like an ancient message in a bottle. The message: The 15,000 Day Boat Trip A stunning  soundtrack to an imaginary travel through the oceans of the mind, and the wonderful diary of a lonely traveller across the world. My word: This record sounds like nothing youve ever heard before, a strange alchemy between styles. Completely without genre and extending beyond the boundaries of the infinite! Decades of avant garde, are homaged together in a sort of harmonic schizophrenia In this unique distillation of (electro) acoustic music, sound collage, spectral folk passages, free improvisation, and an almost orchestral arrangement for violin and strings. Each subject is particularly approached and concurring in the creation of an ancestral form of a blues hybrid. If what you ask from a record is the chance to travel with your imagination, close your eyes and youll be somewhere between Atlantis and Utopia floating in the hold of this ship full of ghosts! Music Composed, performed and edited By John W. Fail. Massive nautical-style silkscreened artwork and inserts  by Cavalo Branco. Handnumbered and limited to 300 copies." -8mm

Title: Particles
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $30.00
"Imagine the moment before the origin of the Universe, when nothing yet existed. According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as singularity, a zone of infinite density, which is also what is thought to exist at the core of the black hole. The result of its expansion is what we call the Universe and it is also what this album is all about. The gate was opened one night in May, in a basement of Northampton, Ma. by Paul Flaherty on saxophone and Weasel Walter on drums and percussions. Particles sounded to me exactly like the Big Bang of music. An origin, a passage of energy that you can feel, not only listen. There is a shiverig tension throughout the whole album, as if everything was ready to collapse from one moment to another. Of course there is no real explosion, but a sense of constant vibration that has his apex on the final cut, with Flaherty and Walter joined by the incredible voice of Laila Maria Salins. Then, silence and back into the darkness. As someone said that night: Music is the key. We couldnt agree more. 140 grams vynil, first press of 157 numbered copies. Silkscreened." -8mm

Everything just flew naturally under the wings of the Time, and this is it. Recorded on the 11th day of January 2008 with the magical help of Maurizio Abate, this record and everything connected to this strange triad seems to evocate continuously the mysterious hidden meaning of the numbers power, and the music inside is what you can imagine could come out from this. The LP is the fruit of the joined work of Troglosound and 8mm recs, artworks and silkscreens by Troglosound (www.troglosound.tk)" -8mm

Artist: KAWAGUCHI, MASAMI NEW ROCK SYNDICATE
Title: The Psychedelic Sounds of New Rock Syndicate
Format: LP
Label: 8MM
Country: Italy
Price: $27.00
"The new decade begins with a groovy explosion of sound and colors: Ladies and Gentlemen, here comes The New Rock Syndicate. Band leader Kawaguchi Masami is a veteran of the Tokyo underground scene, being former Miminokoto, Broomdusters and LSD March member, both seminal projects in the development of a certain way to make rock, looking back at the tradition with a new approach, open to psychedelia, noise and free improvisation. As it happens, Masamis activities soon became the object of a passionate cult among music lovers and record collectors. The Psychedelic Sounds of the New Rock Syndicate is the definitive statement of Masami as songwriter and ferocious guitar player, finding in Kikuchi Akira (bass), Kiyasu (drums) and Hasegawa Yohei (guitar on Dazzling Light and (Theme From) New Rock Syndicate) the perfect partners in crime for this unbelievable new studio work. The album opens with an almost sabbattesque anthem (Why) where a heavy riffage is accompanied by lamentous vocals; second piece (Affected Dance) is a deconstructed blues jam, with a touch of narcoleptic magic and simply beautiful. Side b is where the miracle actually happens: every single track is a banger, a compendium of 50 years of rock music compressed in 18 minutes of fire on wax. Songs like Repetition or Tottemo have been rotating non stop here since when we got the master recording. Every other word is useless: a monument. First edition 250 copies, with spectacular artwork by Standard In-Fi Visuals." - 8MM.

Artist: KELLEY, GREG
Title: The Traditions Of The Past Cannot Be Retrieved
Format: CDR
Label: 8MM
Country: Italy
Price: $9.00
"The traditions of the past cannot be retrieved is a collection of five solo works Greg Kelley (known for his work in Nmperign, Heathen Shame, Cold Bleak Heat) recorded from 1997 to 2005 with his 4 track recorder. For those familar with his previous releases, here youll find some of those elements that make Greg a personal, surprising voice as a musique concrete composer: drones, loops, sonic detritus and short gaps of silence alternated with magnificent abrasive moments. The first 4 tracks are a real peach in this sense. The last track 4 Piezos is a 31 minute monolith which works as a second chapter for the whole album: a long, huge piece for(percussion/trumpet/electronix?) collapsing in a shocking finale. Totally amazing. CDR released in an edition of 205 copies." - 8MM.

Artist: MCPHEE, JOE & ELI KESZLER
Title: Ithaca
Format: LP
Label: 8MM
Country: Italy
Price: $20.00
"Recorded on november 2010, Ithaca stands as one of the missing links between the tradition of free jazz and the current explorations in sound art. Bringing together one of the greatest living free jazz saxophonists and a young talented percussionist and sound sculptor, you have a record that sounds like a classic and yet way ahead of its time. McPhees playing here is so lucid that it feels like a compendium of all those aspects of his style that have enlightened his long career, alternating beautiful soft passages to almost silent moments, or exploding into fuorious fire music. On his part, Keszler gives plenty of room to spread out, whether playing minimal rhythmic patterns or creating sound structures that collapse when joes saxophone goes wild. Silence, harmony and noise, perfectly balance each other on a work that is improvised avantgarde music in its purest form. Cover design and drawing by Eli Keszler."

Artist: PILIA, STEFANO
Title: Last Days
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $25.00
"Recorded between Bologna and Providence, Last days is just Pilia and his nude guitar. Five new pieces that will bring you up to the sky in a climax of infinite grace and beauty. If you followed his previous works, you already know that Stefano is a rare voice, within his fingers, improvisation and composition meet each other in perfect harmony. This new LP offers some of the most emotionally intense guitar music we have listened to, to date. Last Days is in fact apart from Stefanos previous efforts for a series of reasons. Each song is an adventure into a different style, combing elements of noise, rock, folk and drone as part of the same sound painting. But the main focus here is that his sound on vinyl comes out revealed: naked, rough, and primitive as we commented listening together to this record. This music comes from the heart, doesnt need any overdubbs. 140 grams vynil, edition of 110 numbered copies. Silkscreened." -8mm

Artist: PUMICE
Title: Providence
Format: 7"
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $11.00
"New Zealand based Stefan Neville is Pumice. My first contact with his music was Pumiceraft (Last Visible Dog, 2004), one of the best record of the last 10 years if you ask me. This new single ep, contains 4 songs recorded in Us in 2006, during his residence at AS 220, Providence, RI. And its supposed to be the new Pumice classic! Tracks sound like the usual beautiful mix of fragile psyche-pop songs + near droning rock, all mixed in a lo-fi punk style! Comes in a classical snobbish cover printed by ilcanedicoda, with drawings by S.Neville himself. 250 copies that are supposed to not stay here forever. "Am i still listening to pop music?. Ma certo!" -8mm

Recorded in a Bonsai Shop in Tokyo, summer 2010, Bonsai No Ie is a dream made out of floating guitar textures and vanishing vocal lines. Four spectral, naked pieces that stand as the core of Suishou no Funes poetry, where delicate folk moments, abstract blues riffs and oniric ballads concur in the realisation of  the definitive psych experience. Close your eyes and abandon your senses to a journey through the land of ethereal joy and endless abandon. Artist: UP-TIGHT
Title: The Beginning Of The End
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $34.00
"It is a rare feeling when music can give you the sensation like a bullet through the head, and you call it a pleasure. Well, that is what happened when we first listened to these four tracks from The Begininng of the End the new studio album from Japanese garage-psych heroes Up-Tight. We played the disc once and we were speechless. Why? The reason was easy: We got a picture of a band at its creative zenith. The Lp opens with Our Own Portrait, guided by mantric drum beating, rigid bass pulsations and T.Aoki providing a vortex of massive fuzzed guitar. A Song For Your Pain is a beautifully inspired ballad, with a melancholic voice floating on a carpet of melodic soft psychedelia. Side B is the Beginning Of The End, for real! The Destruction is a trippy improvisation, with amps on fire and instruments in a state of pure sonic catharsis. Introducing the title-track as the final chapter, with Aokis raucous crooning that evokes smoke and dark shadows, then collapsing into a wall of guitar squall. Our ears are still blowing! And its time to play this record again. Get ready for a long trip cause there is no turning back with this incredible new album, Up-Tight takes the tradition of Japanese psych-rock and brings it to a brand new level of crazy intensity and destructive power. Available on vinyl only. Second edition of only 120 copies. brand new artwork, with insert. " -8mm

Artist: YEH, C. SPENCER & JON WESSELTOFT
Title: Northern Resonance III/II
Format: LP
Label: 8mm
Country: Italy
Price: $26.00
"Yeh and Wesseltoft met in Oslo, Norway, in the cold winter of 2008. Within the combination between the highly dynamic peaks of Spencers violin and the warm, eternal continuum produced by Jons harmonium, they found the key to deliver a flux of epic, organic drones that sound like nothing they have recorded before. Two years later (february 2010), they did it again, same room, same set-up, same magic. The best takes from those sessions are on the two sides of this Lp. This is the sound of the Norwegian fjords, so powerful and bright like a northern resonance, as perfectly defined by its title. The cover artwork by Lasse Marhaug give the final touch to this gem. Ageless. Full colour pro-printed cover, edition of 300 copies." - 8mm

Artist: BOHLEN, HERMANN
Title: Das Luxurierin Der Bastarde oder Sag Doch Auch Wal Mas
Format: LP
Label: 90% Wasser
Country: GERMANY
Price: $15.00
"The radio piece or Hšrspiel "SAG DOCH AUCH MAL WAS. ODER DAS LUXURIEREN DER BASTARDE" consists of private tape recordings of the sixties and early seventies only. At that time, the old fashioned recorders with big reels were widely spread among families. They served the same purpose as video does today: to document the development of the kids, dogs and grandparents. Some people also used it as diary or to record anything occurring in radio that they thought to be important (besides the top-ten). "Sag doch auch mal was!", english for "Say something!" was one of the most common phrases to be found on the recordings. In thrift-stores and fleamarkets Bohlen collected more than 30 hours of material - additional to some twenty hours from his own and friends families. In collage-technic this dirty stuff, the different voices from all over the country, east and west, were arranged to form a big family, portraying a time that for gods sake is over." 90% Wasser.

Title: Vertrauensmann Des Volkes
Format: LP
Label: 90% Wasser
Country: Germany
Price: $18.50
"limited edition of 333, re-release of the (rare) 1981 LP, featuring: GENESIS P-ORRIDGE (first recording of "Just Drifting"/"Tales of Death"), Axel Hacke (EinstŸrzende Neubauten), Angelika Maisch, Hideto, Christian Kneisel Christian Bohn wrote (1982): "ZIVILISATION" is his record«s centrepiece, a perfect example of his dismantling process (to re-build): a bleak electronic storm blows barely discernibly in the distance, and, to the remorseless swing of hammer on steel, Butzmann sourly declaims against the cheapening and decay of the human spirit. The mood is taken up on the final track«s collaboration with Genesis P-Orridge, who recites in a resigned monotone the self-explanatory "JUST DRIFTING / TALES OF DEATH" - "Every time you feel a little joy / Somebody stamps on it" - to a shrivelling mix of grey atmospherics and a nervous tic... ...and that same mood is more localised on the most cutting song, " SADISMUS UND KONKURRENZ", which pinpoints the source of the spiritual malaise, when Butzmann duets with composer Angelika Maisch (in a fabulously uneven croon) such lines as: "Competition and sadism / That is the german mechanism". Butzmann«s points are made with both bitterness and concern, through methods guaranteed to unsettle listeners without alienating to the point of turning off. Although his materials are often nagging noises, occasionally clumsily arranged, the dramas he constructs from them are conventionally approachable, if for no other reason than that they«re fired by his humanist spirit. Don«t hold back." - 90% Wasser. Highly Recommended!
