Artist: 3 TOED SLOTH
Title: Against The Odds
Format: Double 7"
Label: Unwucht
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
Features feedtime drummer, Tom. "Six previously unreleased tracks from the dark ages of sydney in the early 90s a time when record shops, fanzines, small labels & venues were in their death throes if not already dead. Recorded live to 1/2" tape on a monday evening in early 93 by William a young fan then doing a recording engineers course who offered 3 toed sloth a free session at his TAFE college studio. The intended 7" never happened & the reels laid dormant in the bottom of a wardrobe for the next 17 years until Unwucht heard a rough mix taken from an old cassette tape & enthusiastically proposed releasing it. The 1/2" master was finally tracked down & mixed in september 2010. against the odds is now proudly presented by Unwucht in a hand xeroxed gatefold sleeve including a full colour postcard. Edition of 295 copies." -Unwucht.

Artist: BILDERS
Title: Solomans Ball
Format: 12"
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $18.00
Bilders/Builders were Bill Direen and Allen Meek. "1981. Direen and Meek take it slow and easy, layering their brand of menace over solid foundations. As a duo they managed to extend the range The Bilders were known for, from the lyrical acoustic harmonies of America to the gothic psychopathy of Son of Cronos. Dub experiments on Strange Nights, subtle at first, end by discovering new territory, while the shimmering darkness of Dead Heat makes the EP complete. The original 7" was released in 1982 as a limited edition of 100 copies. A second pressing of unknown but small quantity was manufactured the same year with completely different sleeve design. All music has been carefully remastered to bring out its full brilliance. The screen printed sleeve is based on the original artwork of the rare first pressing. An additional insert includes extracts from Prototype Publications "The Uterus And Beyond" and "Slices Of Man"." - Unwucht.

Artist: BUILDERS
Title: High Thirties Piano
Format: 12"
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
"Unwuchts 4-part series of reissued Bilders EPs reaches its zenith with a mysterious and fascinating release. After three EPs of carefully constructed and layered studio work, High 30s is an assemblage of suddenly made songs and unexpected coherent fragments from a bunch of live sessions at Nightshift Studios. Its sound rises from the creative pressure spring of Christchurch, or better call it anti-Christchurch, at the time of early Flying Nun. Opening with the buzzy classic Magazine ("If you wanna stay, just take a magazine out of the rack"), it rolls without mercy through Kicks ("morning comes theyre gonna do it again") and Payline, before drifting into calmer and more spheric regions on side 2 with Avenue ("the universe without a doubt is running blue") and the as-yet unheard Yellow Swathes. First released in 1982 (100 copies), the original EP of live studio takes was already a poke in the eye for the mainstream labels, but equally daring was the groups attempt to squeeze nearly 20 minutes of music into the grooves of a simple 7". The downside was that the 1982 dynamics were low, and a veil of distracting crackle marked Flying Nuns scratchy copy of the 7" in its CD reissue of 1993. Incredibly, that was not the end of the story. In 2011, while going through his deceased fathers attic, Bill Direen found a forgotten chrome cassette of a much clearer mix. Here were a different vocal take of Magazine, longer versions of Kicks and Avenue, a never released Bilders song called The Lamp and more. Bills discovery compelled Unwucht to re-structure the EP, and to release the newly-found recordings on more suitable 12" format for appropriate sound quality. The rough and generally fierce core material has been completed by a revealing succession of uncovered gems that glimpse a more demure side of the Bilders personality. The package delivers a screen-printed sleeve - a timbre variation of the original 1982 version - along with a simple reproduction of the rarely seen 7 inch photocopy insert of original track info and photos. Edition: 300 copies." - Unwucht.

Artist: DIREEN, BILL & THE HAT
Title: NYC 1989
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $27.00
"During his 1989 visit to New York Bill Direen teamed up with fellow New Zealanders Hamish Kilgour (The Clean, Mad Scene), Allen Meek (Bilders, Victor Dimisich Band) and Tony O’Blaney (Coloring Book) to form the one-off project Bill Direen & The HAT. With help from Lisa Siegel (Mad Scene), Liz Silver and Steve Cournane (Alpaca Brothers) an album-length selection of new compositions was recorded at Manhattan’s PPI Studios and subsequently released as a super-limited cassette on Bill’s own South Indies imprint (later reissued by Powertool Records in slightly different form as the „New York Sack“ CD). For this first time ever vinyl release a number of alternative takes and mixes were chosen from four hours of master tapes, including a double-guitared Ozone, a moody Trees and a snappy Always Be Round. The new selections and the careful mastering of the originals make for a sharp and coherent album deserving the tag "definitive". The LP comes in handmade US-style heavy cardboard sleeves with beautiful new artwork by Hamish Kilgour. Edition: 200 copies." -Unwucht.

Artist: IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT
Title: Dance Trances
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
"DANCE TRACES is IMPRACTICAL COCKPITs 9th album and its recordings cover the period from 2002 to 2011. While the earlier tracks work up influences of late 70s/early 80s proto industrial (Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Portion Control), IPCPs more recent recordings seem to parallel current developments in electronic dance music like 2 step garage and dubstep. They create a type of minimalist space music that some found danceable, even though its drone qualities were at times syrupy slow and difficult to dance to. Lets call it deconstructed Bedhouse aka the "plunger punk sound of Turned Word". Edition of 150." -Unwucht

Artist: IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT
Title: Pretty Totally
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"After recording their first record, Sounds of Nature (Trd W/D, 1999) as a duo, IMPRACTICAL COCKPIT became a trio, deeply intensified their dynamics, and moved to New Orleans. In full tripod mode, they cranked out infamous ninety-minute live sets, dragging the irregular out of the standard bass-drums-guitar lineup. Their wide open soul-suck sound mixes a retro-boozled howl with the ack ack attack of negative creeps such as Flipper. Their unique punch drunk logic ping-pongs its way through the echo tank and your flimsy human skull. Re-mastered in 2010, first time on vinyl. Packaged in jackets recycled from German thrift shops. Edition of 295." -Unwucht

Artist: MONOCHROME SET, THE
Title: Super Plastic City
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $26.00
"Formed in 1978 out of the legendary B-Sides (with later superstar Adam Ant), THE MONOCHROME SET have released an impressing number of brilliant singles and LPs for labels like Rough Trade, Dindisc, Cherry Red and Él Records, culminating in their 1982 masterpiece Eligible Bachelors. Over the decades the band broke up several times but finally reformed in 2011 in their most classical line-up with Bid, Lester Square and Andy Warren, along with new drummer Steve Brummell. Its this line-up that recorded Super Plastic City - a great collection of 11 brand new songs and it has everything you ever expected from your favourite Monochrome Set LP: great melodies, Bids outstanding voice and a band that still plays as fresh as they did in the early days. The original CD was released by the band's own Disquo Bleu label in 2013. It was licensed to Unwucht for a small vinyl pressing of 350 copies." - Unwucht.

Artist: RITCHIE VENUS
Title: Rocking To The Grave
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $15.00
"RITCHIE VENUS accomplishments going back to the mid-60s include impersonating Elvis, making films, writing 500+ songs, releasing a 7-inch on Flying Nun in 1983, touring with The Troggs, and releasing numerous LPs, singles, cassettes and CDs on Christchurchs Onset Offset, the label he still runs with Campbell McLay. Unwuchts reissue of his 1998 cassette, recorded at home with a drum machine and cheap gear, shows off Venuss talent as a songwriter, musician, singer and arranger. This desperate glance backward at an aging rock singers career is full of sorrow, failure, and humor (when the last of the audience is dead, he kills his band and rocks on forever). One particular highlight is "Listen, World," written in 1975, with AXEMENs STEVE MCCABE on noise guitar and PATRICK FALGAN of SAY YES TO APES / BROTHER LOVE on drums. Screen printed jacket. Edition of 150." - Unwucht.

Format: LP

"This compilation documents obscure rock made by a small group of friends in Australia who operate mainly out of sight, but have produced some odd sheer bloody brilliance over more than 20 years. Ever dreamt about members of Dragnet era Fall jamming with an unplugged feedtime down a metaphysical phone lineSHOPTOPROCKERS did & then reinterpreted that dream in the kitchens & halls above shops in Sydney & Melbourne.Originating from Queensland EXILES FROM CLOWNTOWN either eat diamonds & shit rock, or eat rock & shit diamonds ... you decide. Sydneys 3 TOED SLOTH are long extinct, their psychic throb beat however has been picked up by highly attuned individuals from as far away as Southern Bavaria & Philadelphia PA. We strongly recommend young Kraut worshippers everywhere listen to Melbourneresidents ROCK BOYCOTT & DEEP BRAIN THROMBOSIS if nothing else it will save wear & tear on their precious Neu & Faust reissues. So, get im Rhythmus der Zeit with A RANGE OF GREATDIVIDING from the island continent of Australia - Its always now time in the never never.300 copies screen printed with die cut covers from UNWUCHT of South Germany, the land of milk & fhn psychosis. Title: Krypton Ten (Christchurch 1981-87)
Format: Double LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $34.00
"In the early 80s Onset Offset Records of Christchurch, New Zealand released nine "Krypton Hits" compilations, most on small run cassettes, one LP, a 7"EP and a VHS video cassette. The Krypton volumes did not only feature brilliant local acts like The Riptoids, G.O.D., The Oxes or Nick Slick, they also included tons of otherwise unavailable material by well known artists like Bill Direen/The Bilders, Scorched Earth Policy or The Puddle, to name but a few. In collaboration with Onset Offset Records Unwucht now releases the 10th volume in the series, a double LP of 28 Krypton selections along with 2 archival tracks available here for the first time: The full 4 mins version of BILL DIREENs High Thirties Piano and a Devo-esque electro punk track by DROWNING IS EASY, featuring M.S. Agro (later of the Terminals) on lead vocals and recorded in 1981. The tracklist further includes 2 more early BILDERS tracks (as The Cherry Smash and Ritual Sex), SCORCHED EARTH POLICY, THE PUDDLE, RITCHIE VENUS & THE BLUE BEETLES, THE GORILLAS (Steve McCabes pre Axemen high school band), WE TOOs Crushed Velvet Morning, a GEORGE HENDERSON solo opus from 1982 and tons more. The album comes in a screen printed gatefold sleeve including 2 pages of never before seen photos from the artists private archives. Two double sided inserts of liner notes written by the featured artists will give an insight to a yet undocumented Christchurch scene that existed besides the great nun." - Unwucht.

Title: Never See You Again (Augsburg 1982-85)
Format: Double 7"
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $20.00
Early 80s "minimal synth/post punk/psychotic beat" from three bands featuring Joachim Stender of P.D. and LAventure Imaginaire. "SCHATTEN UNTER EIS: The first band to show the sleepy town of Augsburg what new music really meant. From early casio experiments to Some Bizzare style synth pop the featured tracks give an impression of the great development this band went through during their short time of existance. WAHNVORSTELLUNG: Following the motto "2 punks are 3 bands" Schatten unter Eis was just one of several projects around the same core of musicians. The legendary K.d.E. are still undocumented but heres a legendary cut of Wahnvorstellung almost being thrown off stage by a dumb rock audience. FLOW MY TEARS THE POLICEMAN SAID: Totally unique garage rock in a Beauty Contest / Painless Dirties vein. Joachim Stender mutated into a madman during their rare live appearances. A proposed album for Alfred Hilsbergs Whats So Funny About label never happened but they left a brilliant cassette recorded in a practice room with two dummy head microphones." - Unwucht. Title: The Christchurch Quartet - Drowning is Easy/Sarah Richards/The Chance/Ritchie Venus (+ bonus Ritchie Venus 7")
Format: LP/12"/10"/2x7"
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $135.00
“Unbelievable archival package of primo peak era New Zealand underground treasures from ground zero aka Christchurch in an edition of only 120 copies.. here’s the lowdown: hot on the heels of the revelatory track by The Chance that appeared on Krypton Ten, Unwucht have uncovered an original cassette featuring the full session by this legendary group, originally recorded for Flying Nun in 1982 but thought lost. Five stunning kiwi pop classics restored for the first time from a group made up of John Segovia (Vacuum/Renderers et al), Desmond Brice (Pin Group/Scorched Earth/Ritchie Venus) and drummer Jeff Carey on a swank 12” EP. Drowning Is Easy are represented by a four track EP w/a heady New Wave vibe featuring recordings from 1981 and live jags from 1982. The group reputedly made a split 7” with Erich Zann & The Zeds that no one has ever seen and appeared on the Krypton Hits cassette and that was it. The band consisted of Ian Blenkinsop (later in The McGoohans & Gas), M. S. Agro aka Mick Elborado (Scorched Earth Policy, The Shallows, The Terminals), Craig Davison and Andrew Vallance. The four song Sarah Richards 10” is a blast. Richards played with The Bottletops and S. Pilchard Band and was a member of Bill Direens experimental early 80s theatre groups Soluble Fish Ensemble and Blue Ladder Theatre. Side one comes from 1989 and features The Gordons’ Brent McLachlan on drums while on the flip there are three tracks from 1983-87 from The Bottletops (odd minimal synth) and the insane non-music avant garage moves of S. Pilchard Band. The Ritchie Venus LP, Battling The Odds, is so much gravy, a career-spanning compilation that runs from 1974-2003 from one of the early NZ underground pioneers and first generation Flying Nun recording stars. As a bonus there’s an insane 7” EP from Ritchie that features his first recordings from 1967 and 69 as well as a full recording of Ritchie Venus & The Regime rehearsing in 1980. The Regime was Ian Blenkinsops pre-Drowning-Is-Easy and pre-McGoohans garage band. A jaw-dropping package that uncovers some of the most dazzling and long whispered about jewels from the NZ underground and that makes for the hands-down archival moment of the year.” - David Keenan, Volcanic Tongue.

Artist: WORLD, THE
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Unwucht
Country: Germany
Price: $24.00
"The World was formed in 1982 when Allen Meek of VACUUM, VICTOR DIMISICH BAND and THE BILDERS, wanted to play his own songs and asked Charles Heywood to sing them. They were joined by Bridget Mulcahy on bass, Andrea Cocks on violin and ex-Bilder Malcolm Grant on drums. The band performed to enthusiastic audiences in Christchurch and Dunedin in 1983 and recorded some songs at Nightshift studios that were played frequently on local student radio. With an EP set to be released by Flying Nun the band suddenly split up and the tapes lay buried for thirty years. Poised uneasily between Velvets-inspired melancholy, Scottish guitar strumming and the more frenetic Talking Heads, The World didnt quite find its niche in the still forming NZ scene of the early Eighties. After the bands dissolution Charles went on the perform with ROY MONTGOMERY, Andrea became a part time member of SCORCHED EARTH POLICY while Malcolm went on to a successful career with THE BATS. Three decades later Unwucht presents six selections from the 1983 recording sessions remastered from original tapes to great sound quality. The album comes in an embossed sleeve designed by Allen Meek, who had done artwork for such legendary records as the Victor Dimisich Band 12" and several early Bilders EPs. Edition: 250 copies." -Unwucht.
