Artist: AUBE
Title: Pole Nord
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Taalem
Country: France
Price: $7.00
"composed, recorded & mixed by akifumi nakajima at studio MECCA kyoto japan using only feedbacks. Does Aube really need an introduction ? After more than 160 releases (!) in fourteen years, I guess he doesnt. For this 3"cd-r, Akifumi Nakajima has, as usual, used a single source to create his music ; this time feedback. You could then imagine the tracks to be noisy as hell. Thankfully theyre not. Aube knows perfectly how to mix noise and ambient music. So the result is noisy, yes, but listenable ; ambient, too, but not boring. A great work, as usual should I say." - Taalem.

Artist: BIANCHI, MAURIZIO
Title: Bactérie
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Taalem
Country: France
Price: $7.00
"the italian industrial legend, maurizio bianchi, is back. more prolific than ever, he proposes here a 24min track which should put the listener in a trance-like state... rather ambient & evolutive construction with venenous & penetrating sounds..." - Taalem. "this microbic "bactérie", conceived and realized at the beginning of 2005, is profaning the rigid stoicism of our educational orthodromy, while a dichromatic decontamination accustoms the agoraphobic atomicity. the captious escape is vulcanizing the mutant manipulation of some articulated blastogenesis... another altruistic bacterial sickness?" - maurizio bianchi / M.B.

Artist: DAUBY, YANNIK
Title: Chant De Dune
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Taalem
Country: France
Price: $7.00
"yannick dauby is a french composer, known for his collaborations with alio die ("descendre cinq voiles à lombre dune voile" cdsingle on amplexus), mnortham (the "entrelacs" project) or thomas köner (the recent "zyklop" 2cd set on mille plateaux). this 3" is a re-release of a piece yannick dauby self-released in 1999, now accompanied by a new piece. deep concrete ambient music..." - Taalem. "sounding sands are found in many places in the whole world. this rare natural phenomenon, is represented most of the time by beaches, whose sand is squeaking when it is struck or pushed. however, in some deserts, we meet some large dunes which have a more astonishing activity. sand avalanches, mostly provocated by the wind, create very deep sounds, extremely powerful, accompanied by tremors and lasting for several minutes. unexplained, these singings from the desert are despicted like roarings, voices from surnatural beings or the rumbling of the thunder." - Yannick Dauby.

Artist: MENCHE, DANIEL
Title: Scather
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Taalem
Country: France
Price: $7.00
"Another great artist in the taâlem series that should need no introduction. Daniel Menche has fastly gained a strong reputation in the experimental/noise scene thanks to many releases on various labels all around the world (Tesco, Soleilmoon, Beta Lactam Ring, Antifrost, to name but a few) and extremely physical live performances. Heres another fine example of his huge talent to create loud and powerful but subtle music !" - Taalem.

Artist: TOY.BIZARRE
Title: kdi dctb 122 [f]
Format: 3" CDR
Label: Taalem
Country: France
Price: $7.00
"kdi dctb 122 [f]" was done in november 2005 by cédric peyronnet. This stereo-reduction was especially made for headphone listenings. "kdi dctb 122" was a sound work of interpreted cartography whose theme was, on one hand, the sound environment in an area of 750m around the village of La Pommerie (in the town of St Sétiers), and on second hand, the sound events related to the birth of the morning dew in the same area. The 10-channels audio system restores 10 places from the area ; it can be considered as a partial restitution [a cartography sound work] of La Pommerie in july 2001 without pretending being the truth. But "kdi dctb 122" is also and above all a musical piece made of 10 elements that can be heard alone or all together, the exhibition place becoming the listening place. Here, space occupation and spacialization were major concerns during the installation of the work. Work was made of many recordings in/on 10 "micro-places" of the area ; every element was recorded. These field recordings were later sculpted with hard & and software. The final composition was only made with those elements ; so it can be considered as "the music of the place", a microscopic exploration of space..." - Taalem.
