Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Rockadrome
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"40th anniversary of 1973 Icelandic hard rock underground monster thats been the target of record collectors for nearly three decades. Carefully re-mastered for pristine sound that lays waste to all the bootlegs that have come before. Includes 12" x 12" insert with liner notes, clippings and photographs, and an 11" x 17" poster featuring cover art and band photos celebrating the 40th anniversary of this classic heavy rock cult favorite. Includes a quality, poly-lined paper sleeve. For fans of Leaf Hound, Blue Cheer, Elias Hulk, Iron Claw, Jerusalem, Necronomicon, Incredible Hog, Dust, Pentagram, Uriah Heep, High Tide, Flower Travellin Band and the like. Icecross possess a unique and dark sound for their time which reveals influences ranging from Sabbath to Crimson to Blue Oyster Cult and beyond, all melded together in such a way to form their distinct Icecross style. Considered proto-metal by many, though they dont achieve this with a typical smash your face approach. Instead, Icecross unleash some killer inventive guitar sounds by way of Leslie speakers combined with wild ominous bass lines, frantic drumming, spooky effected vocals and splendid use of bow to create a perfect dark heavy guitar album. One of the few, if not the only, Icelandic band inspired by Sabbath at that time." -Rockadrome.

Artist: IRON CLAW
Title: S/T
Format: CD
Label: Rockadrome
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"First official release of early 70s Scottish underground heavy rock recordings from this group who were stomping around the UK with the likes of Black Sabbath, Hackensack, Pink Fairies, Juicy Lucy and others from the time, but never released a proper album. Their name, Iron Claw, was taken from the first line in King Crimsons song 21st Century Schizoid Man. In the beginning, Iron Claw probably became the worlds first Black Sabbath tribute band, as they incorporated the entire first Black Sabbath LP and single into their set! As they went on, their live sets included many originals as well as covers such as War Pigs, Fairies Wear Boots, Wicked World, Green Manalishi and Lady Whiskey. This collection of sixteen original studio tracks documents their existence from 1970 through 1974 and features a wonderful 16-page booklet with extensive liner notes, lyrics and photos!" -Rockadrome

Artist: MARY BUTTERWORTH
Title: Mary Butterworth
Format: LP
Label: Rockadrome
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Travel back in time to 1969 with our official reissue of one of the most highly sought after west coast psychedelic rock records ever recorded. A heady trip, filled with grooving reverb-soaked jams! Prized original pressings command more than $1000!! In the tumultuous Spring of 1968, the Mary Butterworth band was formed. Contrary to rumors, the group originated from Southern California and enjoyed being thrust onto the incredible scene that was developing during this remarkable time for music. After a year or so of performing throughout the region in places like the Marina Palace in Seal Beach and others, they decided to record and release a debut album on their own label. In 1969, on a shoestring budget, their album was recorded, manufactured and released. However, the limited pressing was pre-sold to fans and friends only, and never even made it into stores. It disappeared as quickly as it arrived, as did Mary Butterworth, who disbanded not long after the albums release, never to perform together again. After a decade or two, word of the album had spread to rabid collectors of vinyl records and late 60s music. Somewhere in Europe during this time, a bootleg vinyl was released and the legend of Mary Butterworth continued to grow, driving the price of the original pressing up into the hundreds of dollars. It would go on to be bootlegged a handful more times in various countries, further driving the price of the original pressing through the roof and continuing to enhance the reputation of this long lost piece of 60s psych rock history. Here it is 2011 and Mary Butterworth returns from the past once again, this time in the form of an official licensed, from the master tapes, limited edition vinyl reissue of the impossibly rare and sought after 1969 debut album." - Rockadrome.

Artist: NEGATIVE SPACE
Title: Hard, Heavy, Mean & Evil
Format: CD
Label: Rockadrome
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Official reissue of ultra-rare 1970 underground psychedelic rock record born out of the early New Jersey scene and fueled by the revolutionary air of the period. The sound is raw basement fuzz guitar charged rock in its purest form, inspired by the likes of Cream, Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix, Nazz and others! Fueled by the revolutionary air that prevailed during his days at Rider College and the entrapment of marriage at a young age, Rob Russen drew upon his frustrations and anger as well as the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Blue Cheer, the Illusion, Steppenwolf, and Nazz among others of the era to create the material for Hard, Heavy, Mean & Evil. Russen recruited musicians Jimmy Moy (guitar/vocals), Bob Rittner (bass/vocals) and Lou Nunziatta (drums) to form the original lineup of Negative Space. Over a three year period, with minor variations, the group continued to perform, record and evolve into Snow. In the late 60s Rob Russen, with his cherry red Gibson SG, Baldwin Exterminator amplifier and fuzztone was a powerful force in the heavy rock emanating from the East Coast. Studio engineer Tony Pappa of MSI often commented about how difficult it was to contain and capture the power and fury of Russens music on the four track equipment used on these recordings. Negative Space and Snow recorded on Castle Records, a small independent label formed by Russen in 1965. All recording were limited issue with only a thousand copies of each single and 500 copies of the original Hard, Heavy, Mean & Evil album released. With the release of the album, Negative Space toured the East Coast extensively, opening for such national recording acts as Steppenwolf, Vanilla Fudge, Three Dog Night, Rare Earth, Eric Burdon & War and Grand Funk Railroad." -Rockadrome

Artist: STEPSON
Title: The Lost Tapes 1972-1974
Format: LP
Label: Rockadrome
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"About forty years in the making, and finally the world has the second Stepson album. Utilizing tapes preserved by drummer Len Fagan then transferred to digital and mastered by bassist Bruce Hauser, this fine collection of twelve songs is as close as the world will ever get to a real second Stepson album. Some is raw, some is embryonic, but its all prime stuff for fans to savor, reflecting the bands devil may care attitude and rock n roll lifestyle. And just in case you dont believe that the band liked to party, consider that the exact recording dates (and even some locations) have long been forgotten. To borrow an old adage: If you can remember Stepson, you werent there. Kicking off with a crunching riff by guitarist Joey Newman, Danger Zone is the heaviest track Stepson ever cut, replete with an ominous atmosphere reflecting the seedy side of their native Los Angeles; Streets of Alameda (1974) is an ode to vocalist Jeff Hawks hometown, featuring a liquor store holdup and a stolen Lincoln used as the getaway car. Flesh & Blood is the only track on here that got an official release, albeit by ex-Smith belter Gayle McCormick as the title track to her second solo album, released by Decca in 1972. This version showcases the riff in full glory. And if you dont believe that this riff is strong, consider that The Tonight Show band played it for approximately two weeks in 1976, prompting Fagan to confront author Don Menza, who coincidentally did the Flesh & Blood albums horn charts and was now claiming credit for the song under the title Instant Heart. The song disappeared from late night TV show shortly thereafter. Bad Situation, the only other 1974 track, describes the bands predicament that year: a track that should have propelled them to the big time, but instead bounced off a brick wall like a tennis ball. The maracas and funkified quasi-Bo Diddley groove hint at Stepsons growth and what might have been." -Rockadrome.
