Artist: ALOA
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents a reissue of one of Germanys most interesting records. The German duo Aloa only made one album in 1982, but it is one of the most peculiar and innovative records of the Neue Deutsche Welle movement. Long out of print, somewhat obscure, and very expensive, this record is due for an official reissue. The duo consisting of Al Kanz and Matthias Brendel both grew up in Kassel, Germany. Though both had different tastes of music, they fused influences and injected them into their own unique blend when they purchased Roland 606 and 808 drum machines plus a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5. After much development and evolution, the Aloa project came to life. The album explores a whole spectrum of textures, moods, and atmospheres. Ranging from dark complex synthed-out tracks to diverse instrumentation-laced almost Krautrock motifs, this album is definitely one of a kind. From the commanding first track Weisser Wal with its almost Bryan Ferry style vocals to the atmospheric Banane Zitrone, the twists and turns are endless. This is a very sultry record as well evidenced by the bands constant obsession with sexy women who occupied their time. Definitely will appeal to fans of The Residents, Neue Deutsche Welle, and anything and everything that lives in the outer reaches of synth territory. Sadly the record was overlooked and misunderstood by the press and radio stations alike likely due to its obvious unorthodox and experimental interpretation of synthpop. Restored and mastered from the original master tapes by Klearlight Studios in Dallas, TX. Presented on high-quality 180 gram heavyweight green vinyl. Features bonus LP insert with liner notes and interview by Dave Segal. Limited edition." - Medical.

Artist: AXXESS
Title: Novels for the Moons
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
Medical Records is ecstatic to present the reissue of the essential Novels For The Moons by AXXESS. Originally released in 1983, Axxess is the brainchild of French multimedia artist PATRICK MIMRAN. Mr. Mimran was co-director of Lamborghini Motors (along with his brother) at the time and fittingly released the album on the imprint Lamborghini Records. Heavily influenced by German electronic pioneers Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, and Kraftwerk, Mr. Mimran commissioned the German engineer ANDREAS BAHRDT to build a custom complex synthesizer which eventually materialized into a 16 voice analog synthesizer of genius proportions. Andreas had previously designed a less elaborate prototype for Peter Baumann of Tangerine Dream fame. What then came to life as the product of Patricks imagination and this unique machine is a spectacular array of 15 sequenced instrumentals that is Novels For The Moons. The opener "When The Lips Fly High" sets the stage for the labyrinthine polyrhythms that will enchant and enrapture the listener for the duration of the album. While most tracks have an upbeat driving vibe, others have a synth-heavy low-key subdued aspect as well. The album has been described in some circles as having cosmic qualities (as well as the track "Pages" making an appearance on a Daniele Baldelli mix in the past). Occasional resemblances to 70s horror synth soundtracks could also be appreciated but with a more intricate song structure of layered intertwining sequenced patterns. This long out of print beautiful artifact has essentially been unavailable except for the occasional rare copy on the collectors market. The LP features original reproduction sleeve art (front and back) featuring the mysterious and eye-dazzling original painting that donned the original LP. Included is a 2-sided insert featuring an interview and profile of Axxess by DAVE SEGAL and color photos of the infamous "Le Bart" synth used to create this masterpiece. This will certainly appeal to fans of early progressive synth records, sequencer-heavy Tangerine Dream period, cosmic disco, and other lovers of all things early-electronic. Presented on high-quality 180-gram yellow vinyl in a limited edition of 1,000 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: BAL PARE
Title: Early Recordings
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents a hand-picked selection of the early recordings of Germanys Bal Paré. The band started as Jeanette und das Land Z in 1981 with a 7 on Konkurrenz, which included two covers: Raumpatrouille (soundtrack from a weird science fiction TV series) and 60s Eurovision Grand Prix number one hit, Poupe de cire, poupe de son by France Gall. The 7 became an underground hit. Members were Kirsten Klemm (vocals), Jan T. Krahn (synthesizer) and Matthias Schuster (synthesizer, beatbox). The band changed their name to Bal Paré and begin recording independently. In addition, drummer Jürgen Weiss joined the band. The band name was based on the song Es war beim Bal Pare from the German chansonette Hildegard Knef, who was a musical influence along with bands like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, etc. The first Bal Paré LP, Hamburg-Paris-Catania was released in 1982 on Konkurrenz. The members performed under witty pseudonyms for that record. Since they had a large fan base in Sweden, the second release (Metamorphose) came out in Stockholm on the Krautrock label. Around this time, a new member, Manfred Asmus, joined on keyboards and programming and Jan T. Krahn and Jürgen Weiss left the band. There were many tracks produced during this time that ended up unreleased. Much of the material from this selection of tracks was culled from unreleased sessions from the 80s with Manfred Asmus (and subsequently also collected on the Best Of CD-only release in 1996 on Tatra Records). Due recent demand, Matthias Schuster has reformed Bal Paré and has released several new records with much success. The original two LPs are long out of print and demand very high prices on the collectors market. This is the first time this collection has been reissued on vinyl. The opening track Rien is a perfect display of what synth pop is modeled after. Rich lead synth textures, male/female interplayed vocals, and electronic percussion. Though the entire record flows with ease and captivates the listener from beginning to end, other standout tracks include Palais dAmour, Die Idioten, and Meilleur Du Monde. This collection is absolutely crucial for fans of early new wave such as Deux, Moderne, Performance and other similar acts of the genre. The tracks have been lovingly restored by Matthias Schuster. Presented on high-quality 180-gram heavyweight vinyl." - Medical.

Artist: BODY 11
Title: Youth
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records returns to Germany for the reissue of two essential pieces of wave history. BODY 11 is/was the one-man project of TIM STICKELBRUCKS. Inspired by the late 70s/early 80s icons such as OMD, Human League, and Cabaret Voltaire, Tim wrote and recorded 4 songs in 1987 in his apartment and self-released the "Mind" 7 inch EP in 1988. Rather obscure at the time, the 7" gained cult status later in the 90s when collectors and word of mouth fans began seeking out copies of the record. Soon thereafter, the cost of obtaining an original skyrocketed on the collectors market. Medical Records is proud to reissue the "Mind" EP 4 songs along with unreleased recordings created at the same time. The unreleased tracks were songs that were distributed only on cassette (to friends, etc) at the time. The tracks have been transferred from cassette and have been remastered by Jacob Jacobsen for this reissue. The LP embodies the essence of the EBM (electronic body music) subgenre that was prevalent in the late 80s. Though retaining a DIY/demo feel, the tracks have a warm synth/beat laced mood that will surprise and delight fans of this era who are not knowledgeable of Body 11. Fans of early Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, late 80s industrial (Wax Trax, Nettwerk) and even early Skinny Puppy will find this collection essential. This is long overdue for reissue and presentation to the world. This reissue/collection is presented on high-quality 180gram "milky clear" vinyl. The jacket art was envisioned by Tim Stickelbrucks with inspiration from the original "Mind" EP front cover art. Features bonus insert with liner notes by KURT B. REIGHLEY. Limited edition." -Medical.

Artist: CAREY, TONY
Title: Explore and Yellow Power
Format: Double LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $24.00
"Tony Carey needs no introduction, but for the uninitiated, he is a keyboard whiz originally from California. He is clearly most famous for his work as keyboardist in the 1970s band Rainbow (alongside Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio) up to 1977. He then embarked on a solo career with multiple charting records under his own name. In the mid-late 1970s, he took up residence in Germany and began working in Peter Haukes studio. Carey embarked on a period of intense experimentation and mastery of various studio equipment, songwriting, and the like. Influenced by what Tony referred to as euro-electronica, the product of these enlightening sessions became Explorer, No Human, TCP, Heaven, and Yellow Power. Though both LPs have similar tracks, the overall mixes and feel of the two LPs are vastly different. Instrumental and very catchy, Explorer is more stripped down almost proto-techno meets synthed out Italo disco while Yellow Power has a more polished, well-rounded and produced sound with a different array of instrumentation and alteration in mood. Released in a sturdy gatefold jacket with montaged new artwork on the front and back but preserved original covers in the inside of the gatefold, this is a gorgeous reissue. Released on double colored 160 gram vinyl (LP1 is green and LP2 is baby blue) in limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Release also includes a special bonus insert with a retrospective and interview by Dave Segal. Fans of proto-techno, early synth-based disco, and left-field wave/electronica will need this gem in their collection." -Medical.

Artist: CHRISMA
Title: Chinese Restaurant
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"A seminal album by Italian new wave duo Chrisma, the absolutely essential Chinese Restaurant has not been available on vinyl format in over 30 years. Chrisma is made up of husband and wife team Maurizio Arcieri and Christina Moser (the name comes from the first letters of each of their names). The record was first recorded in 1977 and originally released that same year by Polydor. It was produced, and arranged, and contains musical contributions by Niko Papathanassiou (brother of the famous Vangelis Papathanassiou responsible for the timeless Blade Runner score). Chinese Restaurant is a very unique record blending the best elements of synth-punk, Neu!-esque prog jams, and new wave into a hybrid of sheer perfection. From the post-punk energy of the single, Black Silk Stocking to the jagged hooks of What For and the analog warbling synths of Mandoia, this futuristic slab of wax is a classic. This reissue was licensed directly from the artists, and it includes a reworking of the original front and back cover artwork. Presented on high-quality 180gm orange vinyl in a hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies." - Medical Records.

Title: Hibernation
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Hibernation is the spectacular follow-up to the Chinese Restaurant LP and was recorded in 1978 and was originally released in 1979 on Polydor. This record has not been available on vinyl for over 30 years and tends to fetch rather high prices on the collectors market. The songs are restrained yet explorative and passionate. The opening track Calling takes the listener down a quirky new wave path riddled with angular guitars and random bits of analog beeps. The stand out track is certainly Gott Gott Electron which is an intoxicating dancefloor slow cosmic jam which will leave a permanent involuntary imprint to the lucky who hear it. As a whole, the record is reflective of the passion between Maurizio and Christina and is a new wave masterpiece on many levels. Aurora B and Lover further display the intense emotional interplay. This reissue was licensed directly from the artist, and the front and back artwork have been re-interpreted and re-invisioned. This is presented on high quality 180 gram clear vinyl (similar to a limited pressing in 1979) in a hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies." - Medical Records.

Artist: DER PLAN
Title: Geri Reig
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Debut full length album originally released in 1980 on DER PLANs own Warning (later known as Ata Tak) label. Der Plan is widely acknowledged as the pioneers of the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) movement which was the transformation of punk rock and new wave into an entity of distinct form and style. The movement spawned other notable acts as Grauzone, Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, and Xmal Deutschland. Der Plan originated from Duesseldorf and consisted of MORITZ REICHELT (aka MORITZ R(r)), FRANK FENSTERMACHER and KURT DAHLKE (aka PYROLATOR, ex DAF) on this recording. Geri Reig is a very diverse album consisting of tracks reminiscent of the early Der Plan avante garde period contrasted with more musical and catchy songs geared more towards minimal synthetic pop and experimental minimal synth. It has not been available on vinyl since its original release in 1980. The opener "Adrenalin Laesst Das Blut Kochen" is a hypnotic, pulsing ride interspersed with freeform synth textures. Vocal pitch-shifting makes it presence on Geri Reig and is style detectable in a number of Der Plan songs. "Gefaehrliche Clowns" is a rather minimal number with an infectious melody. "Commerce Exterieur Mondial Sentimental" was featured on the New Deutsch compilation and is a wonderfully sequenced piece with a melodic lead intertwined. The album is also intermixed with multiple experimental tracks which in composite result in a ground-breaking and pioneering document of the Neue Deutsche Welle scene. Medical Records is proud to present Geri Reig with original cover art (enhanced and overseen by Moritz R himself). This masterpiece is presented on 180-gram olive green colored vinyl in a limited edition of 550 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: DER PLAN
Title: Normalette Surprise
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Normalette Surprise is the equally important and ground-breaking followup album to Geri Reig and was released in 1981. On Normalette Surprise, DER PLAN further evolved their unique style of Neue Deutsche Welle into an ever-so-slightly more accessible record yet not abandoning their roots as evidenced by hints of experimental sound textures and their characteristic quirky yet unde nable sound collages and pre-industrial notions. "Lebdoch" opens the record and is a marvelous and infectious pop ditty complete with catchy bassline and pitch-shifted vocals. "Generaele Essen Erdbeereis" is a stripped down electro number adorned with a pitch-bending freakout. Other standout tracks are "Meine Freunde" and "Das Insekt". For this special reissue, the hit-single "Da Vorne Steht Ne Ampel" and B-side "Rot-Gruen-Tot" will be included at the start of side 2 of the record. The single was originally released in the time gap between Geri Reig and Normalette Surprise and both songs are phenomenal additions to an already intriguing and landmark album. Normalette Surprise will appeal to devoted followers of this unique genre and fans of contemporary artists (DAF, Saal, Liaison Dangereuses, etc). Similar to Geri Reig, cover and back artwork have been restored by MORITZ R. Together, with Geri Reig,, this album is an essential document for any fan or collector of the fascinating Neue Deutsche Welle period. This record is lovingly presented on 180gram dark blue vinyl in a limited edition of 550 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: DEUTSCHE WERTARBEIT
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Fantastic and long out of print solo project of DOROTHEA RAUKES. Dorothea was the ex-singer in of the famous German progressive, krautrock band STREETMARK (founded 1968 in Duesseldorf and released four LPs between 1976-1981). Dorothea Raukes was one of the few female characters of German progressive rock scene. The LP-previously released by Sky Records in 1981-is instrumental and reminiscent of a style similar to other classic late 1970s synth pioneers (Cluster, Tangerine Dream, Wolfgang Riechmann, etc.). The LP consists of six beautiful synth tracks and will be certain to appeal of fans of the above mentioned artists or any fans of early minimal wave, synth soundtrack, or other lost classics from the era of late 1970s and early 1980s. Pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl in a limited edition of 500 (individually numbered)." -Medical.

Artist: DIE GESUNDEN
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records returns to Germany for the reissue of two essential pieces of wave history. MR-022 is the wunderbar release by Berlins DIE GESUNDEN. Die Gesunden (translated to the healthy ones) was the mostly the duo of MABEL ASCHENNELLER and ESCHI REHM (who sadly passed away on November 12, 2008). They were also joined on drums by THOMAS WYDLER (who later became known for his membership in NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS). Taking influences from Kraftwerk, Roxy Music, and Eno/Bowie (who were coincidentally recording Low in Berlin at this time), Die Gesunden was one of the first Neue Deutsche Welle outfits. The self-titled LP was released in 1982 on Innovative Communication which was the independent record label formed by Klaus Schulze in 1978 after Klaus became very interested in the earliest Berlin Neue Deutsche Welle bands (such as Ideal, etc). Mabel was very involved in the Berlin scene such as promoting local gigs for the early Einstuerzende Neubauten in 1981 and shows at the Exxcess club which also inspired the birth of Die Gesunden. Die Gesunden did fairly well around Germany with one of the highlights being a tour in 1981 supporting DAF (Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft). The LP is a diverse collection of songs that display a jagged electronic quality showcased throughout with hints of power electronics mixed with synth pop. Overall, the record is a very diverse listen and will surely appeal to fans of early Neue Deutsche Welle (early Der Plan) as well as proto-industrial and experimental new wave. At the same time, it is definitely one of a kind and has no record that it can be directly compared. Contains bonus track of cover of "Waiting For My Man." This reissue is presented on high-quality 180gram opaque "baby pink" vinyl. Features slight alteration and reinterpretation of the original front cover and redesigned back cover. Limited edition." -Medical.

Artist: DISCO VOLANTE
Title: No Motion
Format: 7"
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"For the first 7" record released by Medical Records, we are proud to reissue the long lost and out of print 7" by Disco Volante. Disco Volante was essentially Terry Clarke (aka Terry Tanx) and formed in London in 1982. Inspired by the early Bond films and their soundtracks (Disco Volante was a yacht in Thunderball), Tanx played live in a number or small clubs between 1982-1986. Using a small number of Roland instruments (TB 303, TR 606, MC-202, and SH-09), Disco Volante self-released a cassette entitled Traction in Rehash, which is sadly lost. In 1984, the 7" single No Motion was released on Catalyst Box Records, with the title track as the A-side and Click and Punishment Tank (Live) as the B-sides. The track No Motion is a very catchy, layered synthpop hit that is quite unique yet capturing the essence of the early 80s new wave sound very nicely. Click on the b-side is a march-like track with propulsive synthetic bass textures and monotonous analog drum beats. The final track Punishment Tank (Live) was recorded live at the Red Box, London with a punk feel and with intense, delayed vocals, guitar and overlayed synth hooks. Beyond out of print and sure to appeal to lovers of the DIY coldwave and synth 7" revival and resurrection. Limited edition of 500 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: DRINKING ELECTRICITY
Title: Overload + Singles
Format: Double LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $30.00
"The first in a series of unparalleled reissues originating from the crucial Survival Records imprint. Survival Records is a UK label now operating for over 30 years.  Formed in 1981 by ANNE-MARIE HEIGHWAY and DAVID ROME, early releases included such iconic releases as Tik & Tok, Play, Hard Corps, and Richard Bone. The first release in this series, is the work of DRINKING ELECTRICITY, the project of label curators Anne-Marie and David.  David Rome previously had worked with Martin Lloyd in the Analysis (later to be evolved into Oppenheimer Analysis). Drinking Electricity formed in 1980 and released two singles on Pop Aural before forming Survival which housed the rest of their output during their two years as a band. This double LP collection showcases Drinking Electricitys full 1982 LP Overload, as well as compiling the bands multiple singles released between 1980-1982. Best described as a perfect fusion of minimal synth-based new wave with poignant, angular and stylized guitar-driven post-punk. Touching on sociopolitical topics intertwined into catchy, synth-heavy tracks that are also danceable, this collection will appeal to fans of early Gang Of Four, OMD, Fad Gadget, and the like. Packaged in double gatefold jackets with custom Drinking Electricity inspired artwork.  Inner gatefold jacket features a variety of pictures of the band during this period.  The release also features a bonus 2-sided insert with liner notes and interview of the band by DAVE SEGAL. Pressed double 180-gram transparent colored vinyl (LP one is red; LP two is yellow) in a limited edition of 650 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: GAY CAT PARK
Title: Synthetic Woman
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"As a monumental first time in the labels existence, Medical Records presents an LP of previously unreleased songs by an icon of Italo Disco and synthpop well known for their club-stomper Im A Vocoder. Gay Cat Park is an Italian duo consisting of Graziano G. Ravizza and Davide Gatti. At the tender age of 14 with an obsession for electronics and a dream, they crafted the hit Im A Vocoder that was released as a single on Discotto Records in 1982. Using very primitive toy-like keyboards modified to makeshift synthesizers early on, this masterpiece and floor-stomper was a success. Though they recorded many other records in the studio with other artists under a variety of different names in the more popular vein, there were sadly no further releases in the style of Gay Cat Park or under that moniker. Working behind the scenes on their limited equipment, they wrote and developed many other tracks that would be best described as the true Gay Cat Park sound. These tracks were home-recorded and not considered commercial enough in those times. Influenced heavily by Kraftwerk, Tomita, and Depeche Mode, Ravizza and Gatti layed these tracks down on standard UCXS Sony tapes or TEAC Tascam four tracks. These tracks have been unheard and stored until now. Medical Records took an interest in Gay Cat Park and requested to hear the potential early tracks. Needless to say, the tracks were astonishing and are presented now on this compilation of hand-picked tracks from that era. 8 tracks (including Im A Vocoder) were culled and restored from the original cassette tapes by Gay Cat Park. All tracks were recorded from 1982-1984. On high-quality 160 gram splatter vinyl in a limited edition of 650 hand-numbered copies. Includes special insert with liner notes by Dave Segal." -Medical.

Artist: GINA X PERFORMANCE
Title: Nice Mover
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records is proud to present the quintessential first album by Gina X Performance. Gina X Performance was composed of the charismatic Gina Kikoine (vocals/lyrics) along with famous German producer/musician Zeus B. Held and backing band. Released in 1978 on various labels including EMI, Nice Mover has been out of print on vinyl format since 1980. Zeus B. Held has previously worked with the band Birth Control and has recorded multiple solo albums as well. Nice Mover has been an internationally regarded electro/disco record with various tracks appearing on compilations throughout the years (e.g. Andrew Weatheralls Nine OClock Drop). The track No G.D.M. (a tribute to famous gay actor/writer/personality) was a club hit on both sides of the Atlantic and remains a commonly heard track on better DJ sets to this very day. It is made up of an infectious slow driving disco-esque beat with perfectly aligned and arranged synth accompaniments. Ginas unmistakable and truly unique vocals and lyrics set this record apart from its contemporaries. Tackling controversial subject matter such as transgenderism, exhibitionism, and other fetishes, this record has left a deep mark on the history of new wave and electro/disco. The title track Nice Mover is a cosmic sequenced synth hit and also has appeared on various compilations. The bouncing Be a Boy is a high energy dancefloor cutter that illustrates the internal thought processes and daydreams of a female longing to become a male. Black Sheep continues this theme and is a very catchy number with bonus sheep sounds to keep it interesting. The closing track Tropical Comic Strip starts off with peaceful cricket samples and piano and builds into a bombastic production that is a fitting close to the record. Master recordings provided by Zeus B. Held and remastered by Lafayette Masters, Freiburg. Officially licensed from Mr. Held (KGBeat Productions) directly. This is a seminal work of electro/disco/wave and is essential for fans of late 70s wave-synth-disco crossover and the like. Original reproduction artwork is preserved on the front (one of the best record covers of the entire scene) and back. Presented on high quality 180 gram bone colored vinyl in a limited edition pressing of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Includes bonus insert with liner notes and interview by Kurt B. Reighley." -Medical.

Artist: GLOWALLA, CHRISTOF
Title: Erde 80
Format: 10"
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"The next installment in the Medical Records journey takes us to West Berlin. In 1979, armed with a Korg MS-10 synthesier and a very simple rhythm box, Christof Glowalla began experimenting with a tape recorder and a few DIY sound generators. Influenced by outfits such as Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and Fad Gadget, Glowalla eventually put his creation to tape at the West Berlin Musiclab, which was a small 8-track studio in the Kreuzberg district. What resulted in 1980 was the self-released now excruciatingly rare Erde 80 7-inch single. Glowalla also collaborated in a band called Exobit in 1981 with Ingolf Kurkowski and Frank Landgraf, but it was a brief existence. Also in 1981, Glowalla recorded three more tracks with Kurkowski which were presented to various record labels, but they unfortunately were never released at the time. Though relatively obscure in the early 1980s, the Erde 80 7-inch release slowly became an underground hit with collectors with subsequently rising prices that continue to rise today. Medical Records is proud to compile for the first time the two tracks from Erde 80 plus the three tracks recorded in 1981. The tracks are culled from the carefully digitized now lost master tapes. For lovers of cold, synth-heavy pop with a darker feel. Presented as Medical Records first 10-inch release, this collection is released on high-quality 10-inch opaque mustard colored vinyl in a limited edition of 600 hand-numbered copies." - Medical.

Artist: GUYERS CONNECTION
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Guyers Connection were a Swiss duo that started making electronic music in 1982. Tibor Csebits and Philippe Alioth were merely 14 and 15 years old and were armed with simply two synths, a drum machine, and a 4-track tape recorder. They are best known for their highly-sought after self-produced and released album Portrait in 1983. It is now considered a classic minimal synth pop masterpiece. Several other members joined the band in 1984 and worked together for some time. Philippe Alioth has been very active in the music business writing, producing, and running a Swiss studio as well as running a Swiss label (Sonic Content). This extraordinary collection of tracks was discovered in a dark recess of Philippes achieves of 4-track tapes in his studio. The tapes were recorded from 1982 to 1984 but were rediscovered in 2005. A portion of the songs were restored/remixed/remastered. The German record label Kernkrach released the tracks in 2005 in a limited viny-only pressing of 330 copies. This sought-after release has long been out of print. Medical Records in collaboration with Philippe Alioth is proud to present another presentation of these glorious tracks. Featuring 13 tracks (including several never before released and a few reworked versions of tracks released in 2005), this will appeal to all lovers of minimal synth, electro-pop, flexi-pop, and the like. Standout tracks include the vocoder tinged Discoqueen II, the hyper-catchy ar Isch Schon, and a slightly modified version of He Sabine!. New tracks include an interpretation of a German childrens song and Macky Messer featuring words by Kurt Weill. The LP features newly created front and back artwork. Presented on 180gm green vinyl in a limited edition of 600 hand-numbered copies." -Medical

Artist: I SIGNORI DELLA GALASSIA
Title: Iceman
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents a reissue of the very rare and sought after 1979 opus by Italys I Signori Della Galassia. Iceman was released in 1979 and has been long out of print for over 30 years fetching very high prices on the collectors market. I Signori Della Galassia (translated as The Men of Galaxy) is best described as a sonic hybrid of space disco/cosmic meets Italian progressive pop/rock. They were founded in Savona in the late 70s. Played with analog gear such as a variety of synthesizers as well as traditional guitar and drums. It is a very rich and diverse LP with multiple interesting twists and turns. The opener Proxima Centauri is a space disco odyssey with super-catchy synth melodies over driving disco beats mixed with hypnotic passages. The title track Iceman is a fusion of Italian pop and space disco which makes for an interesting combination. Other tracks have a completely different feel with elements of prog and experimental rock overtones. Archeopterix is another standout track with washing synths, warbling filters, and gentle backing vocals. The LP contains two bonus tracks (at the end of each side) which were released as singles at the time (Luce and Eliane). The LP features preserved front cover artwork and slightly modified back cover original artwork (at the artists request). This LP will surely appeal to lovers of Space, Rockets, Kraftwerk, Milkways, and Zodiac. Presented on 180 gram silver opaque, high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 650 copies." - Medical.

Artist: IKO
Title: 83
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"The first official reintroduction and reissue of the iconic IKO 83 LP. This coveted album by minimal synth aficionados around the globe has been out of print and very rare since its original release in 1982. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, IKO has always been shrouded in mystery. All 3 members come from an academic background (electroacoustic composition, etc), and they met at the University of Montreal in the music department. Taking from their collective influences of 60s pop, prog and minimalist composers as well as early industrial, they played in a few early bands before solidifying the all-synth incarnation of IKO in its definitive lineup. The LP was originally released on Manhattan Formula. Other than Rational Youth, the Montreal synth scene was small, and the band broke up not too long after its release. Over the years, it has slowly achieved cult status of the highest order and now fetches inflated collectors prices on the open market. It even prompted an unauthorized bootleg LP a few years ago (of much inferior sound quality). The master for this very special reissue is transferred and EQed from the master analog tapes. The opening track Approach on Tokyo sets the mood with its electro hooks and almost Trans-Europe Express synth parts. Gonadotropic Synthesis is an amazing slow and beautiful synthy melodic number which blurs the lines between love song and a lecture on hormonal interplay out of a medical textbook. Digital Delight is a fast paced dance floor favorite with cyborg lyrics and catchy hooks. The LP contains one never before heard bonus track Jungle City which is a bit of a more ominous and dark track as compared to the other album tracks. This LP will appeal to the legions of people who have been patiently waiting for an official reissue as well as the un-initiated fans of classic synth pop, Kraftwerk, early Human League and the like. Features a bonus insert with interview and retrospective by Dave Segal. Additional remastering by Martin Bowes at the Cage, London. Presented on high-quality 180gram heavyweight half and half yellow and black vinyl." - Medical.

Artist: ILLUSTRATION SONORE
Title: Undisciplined Strips Of Emotions
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents the release of its first contemporary artist with the Paris-based ILLUSTRATION SONORE (I/S). The duo, consisting of DASZ (also in DOLINA and AME DE BOUE) and CHRISTINA (aka FROE CHAR), expertly craft dark and atmospheric songs laced with unbridled passion in the context of synth-laden melodies, dominant percussion and pensive vocals. I/S uses variations of electricity to control oscillators and frequency modulations. Best described as synth-gaze, dark-wave, or no-future pop, I/S recorded this full length LP in 2013. For fans of EBM/synth-heavy industrial crossover, lovers of Cabaret Voltaire, Chris and Cosey, modern synth-wave and the like, these tracks will not disappoint.  I/S has no fetishism for the old nor obsessions for the new, and they draw their inspiration in synth pop and surrealism.  Presented on high-quality 180-gram ultra-clear heavyweight vinyl.  Features bonus LP insert with lyrics. Front cover design by Temple Vengeance.  Limited edition." -Medical.

Artist: KITTY
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Selection of works from Austin, Texass undiscovered and never before released electronic/ambient artist Kitty from the early 1990s. This band should have had a proper release in the 90s, so for a lot of people, this is a long overdue accomplishment. Formed in 1994 by guitarists Dain Luscombe and Brandon Loe, the band eventually became a trio with the inclusion of drummer Clint Thorman. Over a handful of four-track cassettes, CDRs, and one unreleased EP, Kitty developed a sound unique even in the burgeoning psychedelic and electronic music scene that occurred along the I-35 corridor from Austin, Texas, north to Denton as well as a rabid cult following. From their earliest performances as a three-piece, it was apparent that Kittys music put them in a peerage of electronic and experimental acts coming out of the UK like Seefeel and Insides rather than another Texan 13th Floor Elevators style psych band. Fans of acts such as the aforementioned Seefeel, Insides, as well as other pioneering works by Flying Saucer Attack and A.R. Kane will adore this collection. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. Presented on high-quality 180-gram heavyweight blue vinyl."

Artist: KLINE COMA XERO
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents the debut full length release of Kline Coma Xero. A self-titled LP influenced largely by the sterile and isolated iconography of authors such as Philip K. Dick, William Gibson and JG Ballard (from whence the bands name is derived). Formed in 2012, Kline Coma Xero is a group whose work embraces elements of early minimal synth wave with distinctively thoughtful lyrics and evocative melodies. Kline Coma Xeros Tony Williams has had his roots planted in various projects in the past, spanning a realm of styles from experimental noise, tape loops and early industrial. Using a writing style that employs the use of hardware sequencers driving analog instruments rather than computers, Kline Coma Xero produces a uniquely oblique interpretation of past-meets-present in modern electronic music. Kline Coma Xero debuted in 2013 with the track Left Behind, which was included on the Circuit DActes 3 La Forme Lente label compilation and is the opening track for this LP. The second track, Rewind, is amazingly catchy and reminiscent of the best hybrid of analog synth pop overlaid with Front 242 style vocals. Other standout tracks are the second side opener Mannequins with its razor sharp lead synths as well as the dark and brooding Casualty Ward. Kline Coma Xero will certainly appeal to fans of analog minimal synth, EBM, and the more melodic side of industrial as well as specific acts such as Fad Gadget, Suicide, John Foxx, or Martial Canterel. Presented on high-quality 180 gram heavyweight colored splatter on opaque white vinyl and features a bonus LP insert." - Medical.

Artist: LAUGH CLOWN LAUGH
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Composed of SAM FINDLAY and DOMINC OBRIEN, LAUGH CLOWN LAUGH hailed from the Somerset town of Frome (100 miles west of London). Though the band only had one actual released track ("Feel So Young" featured on a 1984 2xLP compilation), the duo recorded many more tracks literally in their living room in the early 1980s. Inspired by early 1980s synth pop, these home recordings are some of the most young at heart, sincere, and amazing synth pop the world has never heard. Due to lack of publicity/etc, these recordings sadly have been stored away until recently as a cult following mounted after the attention and correspondence with Crispy Nuggets blog. In addition to the driving, infectious earworm "Feel So Young" (and the dub version), this LP is composed of ten never before heard home recordings that will appeal to fans of earliest Human League, Oppenheimer Analysis, and earliest Vince Clarke era Depeche Mode. Presented on 180gram transparent orange highquality vinyl in a limited edition." - Medical

Artist: LE CLICHE
Title: Consumer Behavior
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents the debut full-length release of Le Cliché, entitled Consumer Behavior. The album consists of 11 songs influenced largely by European synth pop of the late 1970s and early 1980s (The Human League, John Foxx, OMD, early Depeche Mode, Japan, Gary Numan, Propaganda, and Kraftwerk). More recent influences include the first album by Miss Kittin & the Hacker, Tiga, Benny Benassi, Erlend Øye, and Ladytron. The music might be best described as minimal synth, synth pop, postmodernist, cold assembly line with neo-consumerist themes, based on the use of synth sequences and virtual voices. The inspiration for the subject matter of the songs comes from the many inconsistencies and ironies of the current consumer- and consumption-centered society in which we live. Le Cliché is the synth project of Gerard Ryan, native of Limerick (Ireland), Associate Professor of Marketing and Consumer Behavior at the Rovira I Virgili University in Spain and a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University, New York. Le Cliché was initially established in 1984 when Ryan was a teenager, but later the project was put on hiatus in favor of a career in academia. Le Cliché was re-ignited in 2012, motivated by the appearance of new music from the 1980s that was being rediscovered and released by a host of relatively small but hugely motivated new record labels including Medical Records and the like (and groups such as Dark Day, Mathematiques Modernes, Bal Paré, Ceramic Hello, and Experimental Products). When, in 2012, the track Waiting on the Internet emerged as a reflection of Ryans doctoral research on the frustrations and anxieties experienced by consumers when interacting with computer technology in the use of the Internet, the Le Cliché project was revived. Since then the main source of inspiration has come from Ryans work as an academic, taking a critical view of the inconsistencies of the marketing centered approach to business and the all-pervasive reach of marketing activities in our daily lives as consumers (rather than citizens). All of the tracks on the album are from the 2012-2014 period except for I Woke Up This Morning (Like I Always Do), which is a reimagining of a 1984 demo of the track entitled I Dreamt I Was Dead. Two tracks on the album reflect on the everyday mundane, often drab, act of waiting in line, whether in situ, on the phone, or on the internet (Thank You For Holding and Waiting on the Internet). Production Line is the mostly instrumental opening track to the album, and it clearly displays its Kraftwerkian influences. Production Line reflects on the so-called sweatshops that produce many of our most beloved brands but often fail to adequately compensate workers for their labor or protect basic worker rights. It contemplates the fact that that most of these workers will never be able to afford the designer brands they churn out day after day in overcrowded factories and often-deplorable conditions. Other tracks deal with topics which are more personal and intimate such as aquaphobia and Ventolin, thus giving some indication of the personality behind the music. The album was written and recorded in Catalonia, Spain in 2012 and 13, and during the harsh winter of 2013 and 14 in frozen upstate New York, U.S.A. The Le Cliché sound is attained by combining a mix of old and new technologies. In this sense, both analogue and virtual instruments are employed thus obtaining a unique mix of old and new technologies. The LP is presented on high-quality 180-gram heavyweight colored white vinyl and features a bonus LP insert. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK." - Medical.

Artist: LOU CHAMPAGNE SYSTEM
Title: No Visible Means
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Originally self-released in 1984 on Pterodactyl Records, No Visible Means is the work of Canadas own LOU CHAMPAGNE. Lou Champagne was active the Ontario music scene and also performed with other local musicians from that region as well. The "Lou Champagne System" was the real-time guitar synth solo act of Lou Champagne. Due to his knowledge of electronics, he was able to link his guitar, synth, and synthetic drums into a working one-man solo act that was playable with floor switches and pedals. The overall effect was the sound of a full band. No Visible Means was recorded in 1981-1982 and mixed in 1983. It consists of 9 works of unrelenting sonic bliss. The music can be described as synth-heavy, textural punk with a very diverse palette of styles drizzled in for a truly unique listening experience. "Dont Say Im Here" opens the album with a bang showcasing Lous angular guitar effects and emotionally powered vocals. "Propaganda Frustration" is a thick, modulated affair with overtones of minimal disco and motorik motifs that commands attention on the dark dancefloor. "Machine Muzik" is a standout track with effects-laden jagged guitar hooks drenched in a haze of electronics. From beginning to end, No Visible Means is a synth-punk masterpiece and will surely appeal to connoisseurs of the darker, synth-based outer limits of post-punk and jagged guitar-heavy new wave. Available in the past only in limited quantities from Mr. Champagne himself, No Visible Means has been long out of print.  Medical Records is proud to reissue this LP with original reproduction artwork.   Original 1/4" analog tapes were restored, transferred, and remastered by GEORGE HORN at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA.  This reissue is officially licensed from Lou Champagne. LP also includes original "nuclear circuit map" as an additional insert (with lyrics on flipside of insert).  Presented on high quality 180-gram white vinyl in a limited edition of 1,000 hand-numbered copies." -Medical.

Artist: MATHEMATIQUES MODERNES
Title: Les Visiteurs du Soir
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records is very proud to present the much anticipated reissue of the seminal French synthpop classic Les Visiteurs Du Soir by Mathématiques Modernes. Released in 1981 on the famous Celluloid imprint, this masterpiece has been out of print since its initial pressing. Mathématiques Modernes was the project of keyboardist Claude Arto and vocalist/lyricist Edwige Braun-Belmore. Arto has also worked with French bands Artefact and Spions. Also, to note, the late French producer Jacno also worked on the Mathématiques Modernes record. This gem needs no introduction to the fans who have enjoyed the classics from this era. The record is a very diverse blend of new wave, almost progressive arrangement, baroque melodies, complex rhythmic structures, and plenty of so called cold wave sprinkled in. The addition of horns was not a common finding during these times and is also represented on this eclectic record. Probably the most well known track, Disco Rough, was a single as well as was later included on the popular comp, So Young But So Cold, Underground French Music 1977-1983 released in 2004 on Tigersushi Records. It is a staple in many DJ sets with its sassy lyrics and jagged synth hooks. The album features string arrangements which were somewhat unique to the new wave scene. Most notably, the track Jungle Hurt displays the wonderful arrangements that interface well with the synth textures and percussion. The track A + B = C has also been featured on various flexi-pop comps and has a quirky melody accented by xylophone. The final track on the LP is an interesting medley of various tracks on the LP with interesting transitions. This LP has become very collectable for original copies and (when rarely found) is quite expensive. The original tape masters have been restored and remastered by Gilbert Castro of Celluloid Records. The sound quality is unparalleled. This project has been the collaboration between Mathématiques Modernes, Gilbert Castro, and Medical Records. The jacket features original reproduction artwork on the front and back. This record will surely need to make a mandatory arrival in the collections of fans of French new wave, early synthpop, and lovers of all things late 70s/early 80s. Presented on 180 gram grey opaque high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Bonus insert included as well with interview of Claude Arto by Dave Segal plus other interesting tidbits." -Medical.

Artist: MIXED FEELINGS
Title: Remnants
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records, in partnership with Crispy Nuggets Blog, presents the unreleased recordings of Englands Mixed Feelings. Mixed Feelings grew up in Basildon, which was also the home of Depeche Mode (in fact, they went to the same school). In 1981, Sean Cooper met Martin Gore on holiday (around the time of New Life), and they instantly hit it off discussing synthesizers, school, teachers, etc. Martin inspired Sean to follow his dream of making music. After a few bands, Sean started a band with longtime friend Geoff with influences like old disco (Chic, etc) and a bit of Bauhaus, PiL, etc. for good measure. The first incarnation was called Polyphonic Movements but changed to Mixed Feelings after their friends Mark, Alan, and Pete joined the band. They played shows at school and various locations until 1982 when they first entered a studio and recorded Final Demand, Because of You, and Ice Machine. These tracks received some local airplay, and they continued to play more gigs. A year later, they entered the studio again to record a few more tracks (one of which was Another Place which ended up on the 101 Record Compilation). Sadly, after a few more cheap recording sessions, the band split up in 1984. Sean later worked in the 90s as a soundman for The Prodigy until 1993 until he relocated to New Zealand, and he continues to write music. This LP is a collection of known recordings by Mixed Feelings. It is a brilliant snapshot into the minds and talent of a group of young musicians on a mission. The opening track Another Place (Like Home) sets the mood with melodic synth lines and punchy electronic accents. Excellent songwriting and moody atmospheres prevail on this record. Eleven tracks in total (including one cover and homage to their early inspiration). Other notable tracks include Because of You, They Told You So, and The Captain. Highly influenced by early Depeche Mode, Human League, and Soft Cell, this collection of tracks will certainly appeal to fans of the mentioned acts as well as classic new wave acts such as Gary Numan, Ultravox, and Thompson Twins. Original tracks have been restored by Sean Cooper with remastering by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. Presented on high-quality 180-gram heavyweight vinyl. Limited Edition." - Medical.

Artist: MONOPOL
Title: Weltweit
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $23.00
"Medical Records collaborates with their good friends Anna Logue across the pond in Germany to present the long out of print Neu Deutsche Welle cult classic album Weltweit by Monopol. Released in 1982, Weltweit was the sole output of the band. It has appropriately become quite rare and difficult to find with the resulting high prices to obtain an original copy. Inspired by the greats such as Kraftwerk, YMO and Klaus Schulze, the three members crafted an exquisite collection of pop songs played on a very impressive collection of analog synthesizers, self-builds and drum machines that were considered cutting edge at the time. The band would have recorded a second album but split up before that was possible. Members of the band continued to be involved in the music industry at least peripherally but didnt participate in further collaborations or bands. Also interestingly, Monopol was basically a studio-only project and actually never played live (despite some TV appearances). The album has been remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK." - Lion Productions.

Artist: NEAR PARIS
Title: Near Paris
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records in collaboration with Crispy Nuggets blog (http://crispynuggets.blogspot.com) is proud to present a compilation/reissue of the rare four song EP by Near Paris released in 1985 plus seven unreleased/unheard songs recorded during the same time. Near Paris hailed from Columbus, Ohio and was composed of Gerald F. Nelson and Dana Riashi. Gerald and Dana (in addition to Robert Crise) had previously made up the band Post Industrial Noise before they disbanded in 1983. By 1985, Near Paris was quite popular in the Columbus music scene and had opened for such bands as Section 25. They made a name for themselves as Columbus only synth-driven pop duo and even won several local awards. They often played in art galleries as well as worked on original scores for local dance troupes and other art-related endeavors. They band released one long out of print 12" EP which is included on this LP. The EP contains excellent new wave tracks such as Visions and Ceiling. The seven unreleased tracks (hand-picked by Gerald and Dana) follow the same style of deep/moody club-based synthpop and were culled from cassettes which were restored and remastered specially for this vinyl release with outstanding end results. Other standout tracks from the unreleased numbers include Walk Like a Man and Everything Will Change. Sadly, just prior to completion of this project, Gerald passed away in October of 2012. This LP will appeal to fans of early/mid 80s synth/new wave. Presented on 180 gram oxblood, opaque, high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 650 copies. Bonus insert included as well with bio/pics of Near Paris and memorial to late member Gerald F. Nelson." - Medical.

Artist: NELSON, PAUL
Title: Vortex
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Vortex is the one and only release by Portlands PAUL NELSON, released in 1981 on his own Optiman Systems Inc imprint.  Paul grew up around Portland and had a strong background in music and music theory. He built a PAIA synthesizer when he in junior high and developed a keen intuition into analog synthesis. Eventually he purchased a MiniMoog and was very influenced by Alan Parsons, ELP, and ENO. Armed with more gear as time went on (Sequential Circuits 600 sequencer, Oberheim DS-2, etc), Paul was offered an opportunity to record his own album which led to the Recording Associates sessions during which Vortex was born. The LP was also half-speed mastered at JVC Studios in CA. 1000 copies were originally pressed and self-distributed by Paul. The opening track "Automated Man" which also happens to be the only track with vocals, is a slab of genuine electro greatness with its sharp synth hooks and vocoded vocals. The LP takes many twists and turns with many tracks of sequenced pulsations, electronic drums, and rhythms reminiscent of the Sci-fi soundtracks mixed with a healthy dose of almost proggy space/cosmic disco crossed with later-age Tangerine Dream. All tracks have been restored and remastered by Paul Nelson for this release. For many years this LP could be found in the PNW in record bins but over the last decade, it has been become quite rare which has led to it fetching rather high prices on the collectors market. This reissue is presented on high-quality 180-gram splatter paint on opaque white vinyl. Features exact reproduction of the front and infamous back covers. Contains bonus insert with in-depth interview with Paul Nelson by ELSE TEICHER.  Limited edition." -Medical.

Artist: NULL AND VOID
Title: Happiness and Contempt/ Montage Morte
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Null And Void recorded 3 albums (1980s Happiness and Contempt, 1982s Montage Morte and a 3rd in 2012). Both of the 1980s LPs have relatively short playtimes, so we have decided to reissue both in their entirety on each side of this reissue. Hailing from a very diverse musical scene, Null And Void forged their own sound fusing elements of new wave, post-punk, cabaret and less characterized roots. Both of the LPs have gone long out of print and have become collectible with the resurgence and interest in post-punk and new wave. Different from the often colder synth and wave scene, Null And Void headed into a more punk sound with heavier overtones and quirky hooks. The opening track All the Old Humans displays poignant synth lines before the track takes off into a total rock anthem. Un Sedatif Ce Soir is a standout track on the 1st album with twists and turns chock full of smoldering synth lines, jerking rhythms, and other surprises. The 2nd album (or other A side if you will) Montage Morte displays the evolution of the band just 2 years later after the debut. A slightly different mood overall, it has a more DIY home recorded feel. The opener Motorcycle Song is very catchy and tends to keep the listener humming it their mind for days to come. Japanese Forest is a gorgeous simple number with atmospheric soundscapes coated in melancholy vocals and texture. This LP will appeal to fans of early post-punk / wave hybrids and other unclassifiable early 80s acts that defined this wonderful scene. Remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, London, UK. Contains bonus insert with multiple writings and reflections by band members, friends, and the like. Presented on high quality 180gram blue vinyl." - Medical.

Artist: OGI
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Originally released in 1980 on EMI France, the OGI LP (OH-JEE-EYE) is the work of Hungarian-born PETER OGI (pronounced as "ohgee"). Peter Ogi obtained formal education in music composition at the Budapest Music Academy and quickly thereafter formed the very early Hungarian punk outfit, the SPIONS. Though never documented on tape, the Spions were considered very important in the Hungarian music scene. In the late 1970s, Peter began traveling back and forth between Paris and London where he worked together with legendary producer of the Sex Pistols, MALCOLM MCLAREN. Their collaboration was integral to the creation of the OGI LP. It was recorded in Autumn 1980 at Pathe Marconi Studios, Boulogne. The album was composed by Peter Ogi with lyrics written by Malcolm McLaren on over half of the tracks. Unfortunately, the record was criminally overlooked most likely due to its French-only release. It is now being reintroduced for the first time in over 30 years. The LP is a phenomenal creation of synthesized pop. The albums opener "King Kongs Fear" creates the mood with minimal synth leanings and unusual hooks that set the stage for an adventurous slide down the synthesized rabbit-hole. The 2nd cut "Resist Dance" was also a 7" single and is a standout track of infectious catchiness. Officially licensed from EMI and features re-envisioned front and back cover art. This reissue is over one year in the making and is lovingly presented on high-quality 180-gram magenta vinyl in a hand-numbered limited edition of 650 copies." - Medical.

Artist: PEINE PERDUE
Title: Disparitions
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records returns to France (by way of Berlin) to present the first full length vinyl LP by contemporary artist Peine Perdue. Peine Perdue was born in 2010 from the meeting of Berlin-based artist and musician Stephane Argillet and Coco Gallo. Peine Perdue finds its inspiration in a certain geometry, poetry, and clearness in music and art such displayed by the cold abstractions of XVIIIth century harpsichordists (Couperin, Pancrace Royer, etc.) to the graceful minimalism of Erik Satie, the sugar uncluttered pop of the 60s yéyé and finally to the arithmetic synthpop of the early 80s. Among the artists and personalities that emulate their creativity are, among others, Delphine Seyrig, ESG, Elli & Jacno, Anna Akhmatova, William Onyeabor, Luisa Casati, André Cadere, Rainer Fassbinder, or Robert Bresson. Construction, vertigo, and symmetry with sensitivity but without sentimentality. Integrating the above references into a delicate mix with very personal and cinematic sensibility led by the obsessive sensuality of Cocos voice." - Medical.

Artist: PLAY
Title: Red Movies
Format: LP
Label: Medical

David Rome previously had worked with the recently passed MARTIN LLOYD in the group ANALYSIS (later evolved into OPPENHEIMER ANALYSIS ) as well as was the founding member of DRINKING ELECTRICITY (also reissued on Medical Records) along with ANNEMARIE HEIGHWAY. Play released three singles between 19821984, all of which are now out of print and collectable. Red Movies collections them all, including three remixes. Artist: PRESSURES/ ROLADEX
Title: The Voices/ Glass Statuette

Their contribution The Voices is a propulsive and dripping with synth textures track featuring vocoded vocals. Roladex (a veteran of Medical Records already with their Anthems For the Micro-Age LP) hails from Seattle by way of Texas. Blending girl/boy vocals with catchy pop hooks drenched in a seductive melancholy, Roladex also uses a plethora of vintage gear. Glass Statuette is their new track for this 7" and features their signature sound with a bit of an evolution into Moroder-esque cascading arpeggios. Fans of both artists will surely want this in their collection. Artist: ROBOTNICK, ALEXANDER
Title: Ce Nest Quun Début
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK (aka MAURIZIO DAMI) is an Italian electronic musician. He made his debut on the Italian music scene as the founding member of AVIDA, a dance-cabaret band featuring Daniele Trambusti and Stefano Fuochi. In 1983 he attained international popularity with his track "Problemes DAmour," published first by the Italian label Materiali Sonori and then by Sire-Wea. "Problemes DAmour" went on to become a "cult track" of the disco scene. It became quite an import hit in Americas underground club scene, and sparked the mini-LP Ce Nest Quun Debut that same year (originally released on Materiali Sonori in 1984). Ce Nest Quun Debut consists of six captivating tracks including the hit "Problemes DAmour," as well as the track "Dance Boy Dance," which has appeared on other cult disco compilations. Artist: ROLADEX
Title: Anthems For The Microage
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
Medical Records presents its second contemporary artist release with ROLADEX. Imagine Kraftwerk playing Steven Merritt songs.  Roladex was formed in Texas by TYLER JACOBSEN and ELYSSA DIANNE. Producer/Member, Tyler Jacobsen holds an MFA in Electronic Art and this becomes apparent as they find lyrical and musical inspiration through the films of David Cronenberg and John Carpenter, the works of authors such as J.G Ballard as well as video artists such as Vito Acconci and Nam June Paik. Using an arsenal of analog instruments, Roladex nostalgically borrows ideas from music of the past to carefully craft a unique brand of futuristic-mechanized pop, with an emphasis on songwriting and layered production. Weaving sparse, sequenced arpeggios into fuzzy bass and bubbly melodies to create a bed of sound where they layout a somehow bright melancholia. Part minimal synth-wave, part dream pop, Roladex fits nicely with other non-traditional pop acts such as Ariel Pink as well as Synth contemporaries like Police Des Moeurs and Black Marble. With previous singles on Night-People Records, AMDISCs, and Beko, Medical is proud to present their debut LP.  At times their music cold and moody, at others it is bright and dimly warm. Themes such as nuclear war, cosmology, false memories and technology as the "opiate of the masses" become apparent as the listener plays through the LP. Presented on high-quality 180gram heavyweight electric blue transparent vinyl and features a bonus LP insert with lyrics. Limited Edition.” - Medical.

Artist: SEVERED HEADS
Title: City Slab of Horror
Format: LP
Label: Medical
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Medical Records presents two of the most striking and iconic reissues in its catalog. Second up of the two Severed Heads reissues is 1985s City Slab Horror. Severed Heads are one of the most diverse and expert sound palette engineers and are also repeatedly overlooked and far underrated. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, they formed in 1979. The band was composed of many different members though its existence but Tom Ellard has always been the constant since 1979 when he joined the band. The groups early recordings were characterized by manipulated tape loop experiments, cleverly modulated noise elements and repetition. This period is very well suited to the early industrial period. Over time, the sounds morphed into more melodic leanings with pop elements and more prominent synth leads and backbone. City Slab Horror was released in 1985 on UK-based Ink records. The LP, though coming two years after Since the Accident, continues to carry the torch illustrating the evolving transition between experimental structure and loops into the catchy pop hooks that would later define such releases as Rotund for Success. This LP seems to move slightly into darker territory in general with its synth textures and slower tempo tracks but overall has a nice continuation feel from Since the Accident yet with obvious technological evolutions. The opening track Spasm drags the listener down the Sev Head mental rabbit hole instantly with its heady samples and eloquent drum machine rhythm. Spitoon Thud is a rambunctious affair with its cacophony of samples and percussion. 4.W.D. is a great sneak peek into the sound of the Sev Heads LPs to come with its treated vocals and pop hooks (perfected on later records such as The Big Bigot). Next to last is the amazing Goodbye Tonsils track which is unstoppably catchy and features more of the creative use of samples which made this group so interesting. Though signed to 80s industrial label icon Nettwerk in North America and often classified in the same vein, these records are not easily definable and actually have a life of their own. Though commonly misclassified with a lot of the late 80s industrial/goth scene (as well as touring with Skinny Puppy at one point), Severed Heads would be more accurately in good company with acts such as Cabaret Voltaire, early Coil, Chris & Cosey (and CTI), and the like. Long out of print and a rarity on the collectors market, it is presented with original repro jacket. Remastered by Tom Ellard from the original source masters. Presented on high-quality 180 gram heavyweight bone white vinyl." - Medical.

Since the Accident was released in 1983 on the UK-based Ink records. The LP exemplifies the transition point between experimental structure and loops into the catchy pop hooks that would later define such releases as Rotund for Success. Difficult to classify, it is a masterpiece of electronic music. The opening track Relic of the Empire is a slow sequenced magnificent piece with time-stretched samples overlaid with multiple tracks to create a symphony quite unlike anything heard before. The hit Dead Eyes Opened (charted in 1985 as a single) is a dance floor friendly track with crafted synth hooks fused with bursts of noise intertwining with interesting vocal samples. Gashing the Old Mae West is a perfect example of how the record can take a dark turn into the style of the earlier Sev Heads with jagged industrial crunched out tape loops and folding in and out samples. Presented on high-quality 180 gram heavyweight black and white vinyl." - Medical.
