"Side 1: vibrational movements of metal plates - a thin metal plate is suspended between 2 attached loudspeakers. The output of both loudspeakers are sine oscillations within a low frequency range which generate vibrational movements of the metal plates resulting in a complex variation of vibrational movement. In this work, I placed 2 microphones close to the plate in order to record the movement faithfully. The determination of the placement of the microphones gives an observational perspective of the vibrational movement; in this way, it is possible to fix some phase variation from these vibrational movements. The metal plate is suspended lengthwise by a fulcrum which is fixed at the horizontal center, and within 1 inch from the the top edge. The two loudspeakers are attached to the upper end of the plate and the two microphones are placed at the lower end. side 2: - limiting feedback oscillation. these tracks are a recording of my installation that I have dealt with some feedback oscillation. When an input microphone and an output loudspeaker are set into the same space, a feedback oscillation occurs in the signal transmission circuit because the sound of the output returns to the input microphone. I inserted a gate device into the circuit in order to limit the feedback oscillation between the input microphone and the output loudspeaker. The device cuts the signal below a certain voltage of the signal. Thus, I can find out a threshold level of the feedback oscillation using the gate device as the limitation. In this work, I put the microphone and the loudspeaker at a short distance into the same room, and adjust the limit level in accordance with the threshold level. In this result, the feedback oscillation reacts to the fluctuation of the chamber sound, in this work, the limitation on the circuit can give an opportunity to affect the space where the chamber becomes my motif. The limit level on the circuit is fixed on track 1 of side 2, I sounded a 1463 hz sine wave into a closed room where the size is 14 square meters x 2.5 Meters high. On track 2 of side 2, the motif is a chamber sound of an open room where the size is 490 square meters x 4 meters high.
